★ヨハネによる福音(5:17-30)

5:17
　そこで、イエスは彼らに答えられた、「わたしの父は今に至るまで働いておられる。わたしも働くのである」。

5:18
　このためにユダヤ人たちは、ますますイエスを殺そうと計るようになった。それは、イエスが安息日を破られたばかりではなく、神を自分の父と呼んで、自分を神と等しいものとされたからである。

5:19
　さて、イエスは彼らに答えて言われた、「よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。子は父のなさることを見てする以外に、自分からは何事もすることができない。父のなさることであればすべて、子もそのとおりにするのである。

5:20
　なぜなら、父は子を愛して、みずからなさることは、すべて子にお示しになるからである。そして、それよりもなお大きなわざを、お示しになるであろう。あなたがたが、それによって不思議に思うためである。

5:21
　すなわち、父が死人を起して命をお与えになるように、子もまた、そのこころにかなう人々に命を与えるであろう。

5:22
　父はだれをもさばかない。さばきのことはすべて、子にゆだねられたからである。

5:23
　それは、すべての人が父を敬うと同様に、子を敬うためである。子を敬わない者は、子をつかわされた父をも敬わない。

5:24
　よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。わたしの言葉を聞いて、わたしをつかわされたかたを信じる者は、永遠の命を受け、またさばかれることがなく、死から命に移っているのである。

5:25
　よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。死んだ人たちが、神の子の声を聞く時が来る。今すでにきている。そして聞く人は生きるであろう。

5:26
　それは、父がご自分のうちに生命をお持ちになっていると同様に、子にもまた、自分のうちに生命を持つことをお許しになったからである。

5:27
　そして子は人の子であるから、子にさばきを行う権威をお与えになった。

5:28
　このことを驚くには及ばない。墓の中にいる者たちがみな神の子の声を聞き、
5:29
　善をおこなった人々は、生命を受けるためによみがえり、悪をおこなった人々は、さばきを受けるためによみがえって、それぞれ出てくる時が来るであろう。

5:30
　わたしは、自分からは何事もすることができない。ただ聞くままにさばくのである。そして、わたしのこのさばきは正しい。それは、わたし自身の考えでするのではなく、わたしをつかわされたかたの、み旨を求めているからである。

　あなたはこれを聞くこともなく、知ることもなく、あなたの耳は、いにしえから開かれなかった。わたしはあなたが全く不信実で、生れながら反逆者ととなえられたことを知っていたからである。

　わが名のために、わたしは怒りをおそくする。わが誉のために、わたしはこれをおさえて、あなたを断ち滅ぼすことをしない。

48:10
　見よ、わたしはあなたを練った。しかし銀のようにではなくて、苦しみの炉をもってあなたを試みた。

48:11
　わたしは自分のために、自分のためにこれを行う。どうしてわが名を汚させることができよう。わたしはわが栄光をほかの者に与えることをしない。

48:12
　ヤコブよ、わたしの召したイスラエルよ、わたしに聞け。わたしはそれだ、わたしは初めであり、わたしはまた終りである。

48:13
　わが手は地の基をすえ、わが右の手は天をのべた。わたしが呼ぶと、彼らはもろともに立つ。

48:14
　あなたがたは皆集まって聞け。彼らのうち、だれがこれらの事を告げたか。主の愛せられる彼は主のみこころをバビロンに行い、その腕はカルデヤびとの上に臨む。

48:15
　語ったのは、ただわたしであって、わたしは彼を召した。わたしは彼をこさせた。彼はその道に栄える。

　主は恵みふかく、あわれみに満ち、怒ることおそく、いつくしみ豊かです。

145:9
　主はすべてのものに恵みがあり、そのあわれみはすべてのみわざの上にあります。

145:14
　主はすべて倒れんとする者をささえ、すべてかがむ者を立たせられます。

145:17
　主はそのすべての道に正しく、そのすべてのみわざに恵みふかく、

145:18
　すべて主を呼ぶ者、誠をもって主を呼ぶ者に主は近いのです。

　もしあなたがたがわたしの定めに歩み、わたしの戒めを守って、これを行うならば、

　わたしはその季節季節に、雨をあなたがたに与えるであろう。地は産物を出し、畑の木々は実を結ぶであろう。

26:5
　あなたがたの麦打ちは、ぶどうの取入れの時まで続き、ぶどうの取入れは、種まきの時まで続くであろう。あなたがたは飽きるほどパンを食べ、またあなたがたの地に安らかに住むであろう。

26:6
　わたしが国に平和を与えるから、あなたがたは安らかに寝ることができ、あなたがたを恐れさすものはないであろう。わたしはまた国のうちから悪い獣を絶やすであろう。つるぎがあなたがたの国を行き巡ることはないであろう。

　あなたがたは敵を追うであろう。彼らは、あなたがたのつるぎに倒れるであろう。

　あなたがたの五人は百人を追い、百人は万人を追い、あなたがたの敵はつるぎに倒れるであろう。

26:9
　わたしはあなたがたを顧み、多くの子を獲させ、あなたがたを増し、あなたがたと結んだ契約を固めるであろう。

26:10
　あなたがたは古い穀物を食べている間に、また新しいものを獲て、その古いものを捨てるようになるであろう。

26:11
　わたしは幕屋をあなたがたのうちに建て、心にあなたがたを忌みきらわないであろう。

26:12
　わたしはあなたがたのうちに歩み、あなたがたの神となり、あなたがたはわたしの民となるであろう。

　わたしはあなたがたの神、主であって、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き出して、奴隷の身分から解き放った者である。わたしはあなたがたのくびきの横木を砕いて、まっすぐに立って歩けるようにしたのである。

　しかし、あなたがたがもしわたしに聞き従わず、またこのすべての戒めを守らず、

26:15
　わたしの定めを軽んじ、心にわたしのおきてを忌みきらって、わたしのすべての戒めを守らず、わたしの契約を破るならば、

26:16
　わたしはあなたがたにこのようにするであろう。すなわち、あなたがたの上に恐怖を臨ませ、肺病と熱病をもって、あなたがたの目を見えなくし、命をやせ衰えさせるであろう。あなたがたが種をまいてもむだである。敵がそれを食べるであろう。

　わたしは顔をあなたがたにむけて攻め、あなたがたは敵の前に撃ちひしがれるであろう。またあなたがたの憎む者があなたがたを治めるであろう。あなたがたは追う者もないのに逃げるであろう。

26:38
　あなたがたは国々のうちにあって滅びうせ、あなたがたの敵の地はあなたがたをのみつくすであろう。

26:39
　あなたがたのうちの残っている者は、あなたがたの敵の地で自分の罪のゆえにやせ衰え、また先祖たちの罪のゆえに彼らと同じようにやせ衰えるであろう。

26:40
　しかし、彼らがもし、自分の罪と、先祖たちの罪、すなわち、わたしに反逆し、またわたしに逆らって歩んだことを告白するならば、

26:41
　たといわたしが彼らに逆らって歩み、彼らを敵の国に引いて行っても、もし彼らの無割礼の心が砕かれ、あまんじて罪の罰を受けるならば、

26:42
　そのときわたしはヤコブと結んだ契約を思い起し、またイサクと結んだ契約およびアブラハムと結んだ契約を思い起し、またその地を思い起すであろう。

26:43
　しかし、彼らが地を離れて地が荒れ果てている間、地はその安息を楽しむであろう。彼らはまた、あまんじて罪の罰を受けるであろう。彼らがわたしのおきてを軽んじ、心にわたしの定めを忌みきらったからである。

26:44
　それにもかかわらず、なおわたしは彼らが敵の国におるとき、彼らを捨てず、また忌みきらわず、彼らを滅ぼし尽さず、彼らと結んだわたしの契約を破ることをしないであろう。わたしは彼らの神、主だからである。

26:45
　わたしは彼らの先祖たちと結んだ契約を彼らのために思い起すであろう。彼らはわたしがその神となるために国々の人の目の前で、エジプトの地から導き出した者である。わたしは主である』」。

+ First Reading: Isaiah 49:8-15

8 Thus says Yahweh, “In an acceptable time have I answered you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage:

9 saying to those who are bound, ‘Come out!’; to those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves!’
“They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture.

10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water he will guide them.

11 I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

12 Behold, these shall come from far; and behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.”

13 Sing, heavens; and be joyful, earth; and break out into singing, mountains: for Yahweh has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.

14 But Zion said, “Yahweh has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.”

15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!

17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”

18 For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

19 Jesus therefore answered them, “Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.

20 For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.

22 For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son,

23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.

24 “Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

25 Most certainly, I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God’s voice; and those who hear will live.

26 For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.

27 He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.

28 Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,

29 and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous; because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.

3 “‘If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

4 then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

5 Your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time. You shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

6 “‘I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid. I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

7 You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

8 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

9 “‘I will have respect for you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.

10 You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall move out the old because of the new.

11 I will set my tent among you, and my soul won’t abhor you.

12 I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you will be my people.

13 I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

14 “‘But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments;

15 and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;

16 I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

17 I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.

38 You will perish among the nations. The land of your enemies will eat you up.

39 Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers they shall pine away with them.

40 “‘If they confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me,

41 I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity;

42 then I will remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.

43 The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them: and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

44 Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God;

45 but I will for their sake remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am Yahweh.’”
