19:1
　さて、イエスはエリコにはいって、その町をお通りになった。

19:2
　ところが、そこにザアカイという名の人がいた。この人は取税人のかしらで、金持であった。

19:3
　彼は、イエスがどんな人か見たいと思っていたが、背が低かったので、群衆にさえぎられて見ることができなかった。

19:4
　それでイエスを見るために、前の方に走って行って、いちじく桑の木に登った。そこを通られるところだったからである。

19:5
　イエスは、その場所にこられたとき、上を見あげて言われた、「ザアカイよ、急いで下りてきなさい。きょう、あなたの家に泊まることにしているから」。

19:6
　そこでザアカイは急いでおりてきて、よろこんでイエスを迎え入れた。

19:7
　人々はみな、これを見てつぶやき、「彼は罪人の家にはいって客となった」と言った。

19:8
　ザアカイは立って主に言った、「主よ、わたしは誓って自分の財産の半分を貧民に施します。また、もしだれかから不正な取立てをしていましたら、それを四倍にして返します」。

19:9
　イエスは彼に言われた、「きょう、救がこの家にきた。この人もアブラハムの子なのだから。

19:10
　人の子がきたのは、失われたものを尋ね出して救うためである」。




☆黙示録(3:1-6、14-22)

3:1
　サルデスにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『神の七つの霊と七つの星とを持つかたが、次のように言われる。わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。すなわち、あなたは、生きているというのは名だけで、実は死んでいる。

3:2
　目をさましていて、死にかけている残りの者たちを力づけなさい。わたしは、あなたのわざが、わたしの神のみまえに完全であるとは見ていない。

3:3
　だから、あなたが、どのようにして受けたか、また聞いたかを思い起して、それを守りとおし、かつ悔い改めなさい。もし目をさましていないなら、わたしは盗人のように来るであろう。どんな時にあなたのところに来るか、あなたには決してわからない。

3:4
　しかし、サルデスにはその衣を汚さない人が、数人いる。彼らは白い衣を着て、わたしと共に歩みを続けるであろう。彼らは、それにふさわしい者である。

3:5
　勝利を得る者は、このように白い衣を着せられるのである。わたしは、その名をいのちの書から消すようなことを、決してしない。また、わたしの父と御使たちの前で、その名を言いあらわそう。

3:6
　耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。

3:14
　ラオデキヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『アァメンたる者、忠実な、まことの証人、神に造られたものの根源であるかたが、次のように言われる。

3:15
　わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。あなたは冷たくもなく、熱くもない。むしろ、冷たいか熱いかであってほしい。

3:16
　このように、熱くもなく、冷たくもなく、なまぬるいので、あなたを口から吐き出そう。

3:17
　あなたは、自分は富んでいる、豊かになった、なんの不自由もないと言っているが、実は、あなた自身がみじめな者、あわれむべき者、貧しい者、目の見えない者、裸な者であることに気がついていない。

3:18
　そこで、あなたに勧める。富む者となるために、わたしから火で精錬された金を買い、また、あなたの裸の恥をさらさないため身に着けるように、白い衣を買いなさい。また、見えるようになるため、目にぬる目薬を買いなさい。

3:19
　すべてわたしの愛している者を、わたしはしかったり、懲らしめたりする。だから、熱心になって悔い改めなさい。

3:20
　見よ、わたしは戸の外に立って、たたいている。だれでもわたしの声を聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしはその中にはいって彼と食を共にし、彼もまたわたしと食を共にするであろう。

3:21
　勝利を得る者には、わたしと共にわたしの座につかせよう。それはちょうど、わたしが勝利を得てわたしの父と共にその御座についたのと同様である。

3:22
　耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』」。

15:2
　直く歩み、義を行い、心から真実を語る者、

15:3
　その舌をもってそしらず、その友に悪をなさず、隣り人に対するそしりを取りあげず、

15:4ab
　その目は神に捨てられた者を卑しめ、主を恐れる者を尊び、

15:5
　利息をとって金銭を貸すことなく、まいないを取って罪のない者の不利をはかることをしない人である。これらの事を行う者はとこしえに動かされることはない。

6章1節
　アンティオコス王は、高地の国々を通過していたとき、豊富な金と銀で有名なエリマイスという町がペルシアにあることを耳にした。

6章2節
　その町の神殿は、驚くほど富んでいて、金の兜、胸当て、武器などがあったが、それはマケドニア人の王、フィリポスの子アレキサンドロスが残していったものである。このアレキサンドロスはギリシア人を統治した最初の人物である。

6章3節
　アンティオコスはその町の占領と略奪をもくろんで出陣したが、たくらみが事前に市民に漏れてしまったので、成功しなかった。

6章4節
　人々が彼に戦いを挑もうと立ち上がったからである。彼は恐れをなし、心を残しつつも、途中からくびすを返しバビロンへ戻ろうとした。

6章5節
　すると、ペルシアにいる彼のところに一人の男がやって来て、報告をもたらした。「ユダの地への派遣軍は敗走しました。

6章6節
　リシアスは最強の軍隊を率いて進軍しましたが、撃退されてしまいました。ユダヤ軍は、撃破した部隊から奪い取った多数の武器、装備、戦利品で軍を強化し、

6章7節
　王がエルサレムの祭壇にお建てになった『憎むべきもの』を引きずり下ろし、聖所を以前のように高い塀で囲み、王の町であったベトツルも同様に固めました。」

6章8節
　この言葉を聞いて、王は愕然として激しく震えだし、寝台に倒れ、心痛のあまり病気になってしまった。事が思うようにならなかったからである。

6章9節
　激痛が繰り返し襲ったので、彼は何日もそこにとどまることを余儀なくされた。彼は死が迫っていることを悟った。

6章10節
　彼は友人全員を呼び寄せて言った。「眠りはわたしの目を離れ、心労のため精も根も尽き果てた。

6章11節
　わたしは自問した。『なぜこんなにひどい苦痛に遭わされ、大波にもまれなければならないのか。権力の座にあったときには、憐れみ深く、人々には愛されていたのに』と。

6章12節
　しかし今、エルサレムで犯した数々の悪行が思い出される。わたしは不当にも、その町の金銀の調度品全部をかすめ、ユダの住民を一掃するため兵を送った。

6章13節
　わたしには分かった。こうした不幸がわたしにふりかかったのは、このためなのだ。見よ、わたしは大きな苦痛を負って、異郷にあって死ぬばかりである。」

6章14節
　そこでアンティオコスは、王の友人の一人フィリポスを招き、全王国の支配を任せた。

6章15節
　その上で、彼はフィリポスに、自分の王冠、王衣、指輪を手渡し、自分の息子アンティオコスを将来の王とするための指導と養育をゆだねた。

6章16節
　アンティオコス王はその地で死んだ。第百四十九年のことであった。

6章17節
　ところがリシアスは、王が死んだことを知ると、直ちに幼少のときから養ってきた王子アンティオコスを王として擁立し、彼に「エウパトル」という名称を付けた。

+ First Reading: Revelation 3:1-6, 14-22

1 “And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write:
“He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things:
“I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

2 Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.

3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you.

4 Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

5 He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

14 “To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write:
“The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Head of God’s creation, says these things:
15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.

16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.

17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;

18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.

21 He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”

1 He entered and was passing through Jericho.

2 There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.

4 He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.

5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

6 He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully. 7 When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”

8 Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”

1 AND it came to pass, after that Alexander the Macedonian, the son of Philip, who came out of the land of Chittim, and struck Darius king of the Persians and Medes, it came to pass, after he had struck him, that he reigned in his stead, in former time, over * Greece.

2 And he fought many battles, and won many strongholds, and killed the kings of the earth,

3 and went through to the ends of the earth, and took spoils of a multitude of nations. And the earth was quiet before him, and he was exalted, and his heart was lifted up,

4 and he gathered together an exceeding strong host, and ruled over countries and nations and principalities, and they became tributary to him.

5 And after these things he fell sick, and perceived that he should die.

6 And he called his servants, which were honorable, which had been brought up with him from his youth, and he divided to them his kingdom, while he was yet alive.

7 And Alexander reigned twelve years, and he died.

8 And his servants bare rule, each one in his place.

9 And they did all put diadems upon themselves after that he was dead, and so did their sons after them many years: and they multiplied evils in the earth.

10 And there came forth out of them a sinful root, Antiochus Epiphanes, son of Antiochus the king, who had been a hostage at Rome, and he reigned in † the hundred and thirty and seventh year of the kingdom of the Greeks.

11 In those days came there forth out of Israel transgressors of the law, and persuaded many, saying, let us go and make a covenant with the ‡ Gentiles that are round about us; for since we were parted from them many evils have befallen us.

12 And the saying was good in their eyes.

13 And certain of the people were forward herein and went to the king, and he gave them licence to do after the ordinances of the § Gentiles.

14 And ** they built a place of exercise in Jerusalem according to the laws of the †† Gentiles;

15 and they made themselves uncircumcised, and forsook the holy covenant, and joined themselves to the ‡‡ Gentiles, and sold themselves to do evil.

16 And the kingdom was well ordered in the sight of Antiochus, and he thought to reign over Egypt, that he might reign over the two kingdoms.

17 And he entered into Egypt with a §§ great multitude, with chariots, and with elephants, and with horsemen, and with a great *** navy;
