初めに言があった。言は神と共にあった。言は神であった。

この言は初めに神と共にあった。

すべてのものは、これによってできた。できたもののうち、一つとしてこれによらないものはなかった。
1:4
この言に命があった。そしてこの命は人の光であった。
1:5
光はやみの中に輝いている。そして、やみはこれに勝たなかった。
1:6
ここにひとりの人があって、神からつかわされていた。その名をヨハネと言った。
1:7
この人はあかしのためにきた。光についてあかしをし、彼によってすべての人が信じるためである。
1:8
彼は光ではなく、ただ、光についてあかしをするためにきたのである。
1:9
すべての人を照すまことの光があって、世にきた。
1:10
彼は世にいた。そして、世は彼によってできたのであるが、世は彼を知らずにいた。
1:11
彼は自分のところにきたのに、自分の民は彼を受けいれなかった。
1:12
しかし、彼を受けいれた者、すなわち、その名を信じた人々には、彼は神の子となる力を与えたのである。
1:13
それらの人は、血すじによらず、肉の欲によらず、また、人の欲にもよらず、ただ神によって生れたのである。
1:14
そして言は肉体となり、わたしたちのうちに宿った。わたしたちはその栄光を見た。それは父のひとり子としての栄光であって、めぐみとまこととに満ちていた。

ヨハネは彼についてあかしをし、叫んで言った、「『わたしのあとに来るかたは、わたしよりもすぐれたかたである。わたしよりも先におられたからである』とわたしが言ったのは、この人のことである」。

わたしたちすべての者は、その満ち満ちているものの中から受けて、めぐみにめぐみを加えられた。

律法はモーセをとおして与えられ、めぐみとまこととは、イエス・キリストをとおしてきたのである。
1:18
神を見た者はまだひとりもいない。ただ父のふところにいるひとり子なる神だけが、神をあらわしたのである。
☆ヨハネの第一の手紙(2:18-21)

子供たちよ。今は終りの時である。あなたがたがかねて反キリストが来ると聞いていたように、今や多くの反キリストが現れてきた。それによって今が終りの時であることを知る。

彼らはわたしたちから出て行った。しかし、彼らはわたしたちに属する者ではなかったのである。もし属する者であったなら、わたしたちと一緒にとどまっていたであろう。しかし、出て行ったのは、元来、彼らがみなわたしたちに属さない者であることが、明らかにされるためである。
2:20
しかし、あなたがたは聖なる者に油を注がれているので、あなたがたすべてが、そのことを知っている。
2:21
わたしが書きおくったのは、あなたがたが真理を知らないからではなく、それを知っているからであり、また、すべての偽りは真理から出るものでないことを、知っているからである。

さて、イエスの両親は、過越の祭には毎年エルサレムへ上っていた。

イエスが十二歳になった時も、慣例に従って祭のために上京した。
2:43
ところが、祭が終って帰るとき、少年イエスはエルサレムに居残っておられたが、両親はそれに気づかなかった。
2:44
そして道連れの中にいることと思いこんで、一日路を行ってしまい、それから、親族や知人の中を捜しはじめたが、
2:45
見つからないので、捜しまわりながらエルサレムへ引返した。
2:46
そして三日の後に、イエスが宮の中で教師たちのまん中にすわって、彼らの話を聞いたり質問したりしておられるのを見つけた。
2:47
聞く人々はみな、イエスの賢さやその答に驚嘆していた。
2:48
両親はこれを見て驚き、そして母が彼に言った、「どうしてこんな事をしてくれたのです。ごらんなさい、おとう様もわたしも心配 して、あなたを捜していたのです」。

するとイエスは言われた、「どうしてお捜しになったのですか。わたしが自分の父の家にいるはずのことを、ご存じなかったのですか」。

わたしたちが神の子と呼ばれるためには、どんなに大きな愛を父から賜わったことか、よく考えてみなさい。わたしたちは、すでに神の子なのである。世がわたしたちを知らないのは、父を知らなかったからである。

愛する者たちよ。わたしたちは今や神の子である。しかし、わたしたちがどうなるのか、まだ明らかではない。彼が現れる時、わたしたちは、自分たちが彼に似るものとなることを知っている。そのまことの御姿を見るからである。
3:21
愛する者たちよ。もし心に責められるようなことがなければ、わたしたちは神に対して確信を持つことができる。

そして、願い求めるものは、なんでもいただけるのである。それは、わたしたちが神の戒めを守り、みこころにかなうことを、行っているからである。

その戒めというのは、神の子イエス・キリストの御名を信じ、わたしたちに命じられたように、互に愛し合うべきことである。

神の戒めを守る人は、神におり、神もまたその人にいます。そして、神がわたしたちのうちにいますことは、神がわたしたちに賜わった御霊によって知るのである。

キリストが教会のかしらであって、自らは、からだなる教会の救主であられるように、夫は妻のかしらである。

そして教会がキリストに仕えるように、妻もすべてのことにおいて、夫に仕えるべきである。

夫たる者よ。キリストが教会を愛してそのためにご自身をささげられたように、妻を愛しなさい。

キリストがそうなさったのは、水で洗うことにより、言葉によって、教会をきよめて聖なるものとするためであり、

また、しみも、しわも、そのたぐいのものがいっさいなく、清くて傷のない栄光の姿の教会を、ご自分に迎えるためである。

この奥義は大きい。それは、キリストと教会とをさしている。

子たる者よ。主にあって両親に従いなさい。これは正しいことである。

44 but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day’s journey, and they looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances.
45 When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him.
46 After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the middle of the teachers, both listening to them, and asking them questions.
47 All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.
48 When they saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”
49 He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
50 They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.
51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

それから、モーセの律法による彼らのきよめの期間が過ぎたとき、両親は幼な子を連れてエルサレムへ上った。
2:23
それは主の律法に「母の胎を初めて開く男の子はみな、主に聖別された者と、となえられねばならない」と書いてあるとおり、幼な子を主にささげるためであり、
2:24
また同じ主の律法に、「山ばと一つがい、または、家ばとのひな二羽」と定めてあるのに従って、犠牲をささげるためであった。
2:25

彼らが帰って行ったのち、見よ、主の使が夢でヨセフに現れて言った、「立って、幼な子とその母を連れて、エジプトに逃げなさい。そして、あなたに知らせるまで、そこにとどまっていなさい。ヘロデが幼な子を捜し出して、殺そうとしている」。
2:14
そこで、ヨセフは立って、夜の間に幼な子とその母とを連れてエジプトへ行き、
2:15
ヘロデが死ぬまでそこにとどまっていた。それは、主が預言者によって「エジプトからわが子を呼び出した」と言われたことが、成就するためである。
2:16
さて、ヘロデは博士たちにだまされたと知って、非常に立腹した。そして人々をつかわし、博士たちから確かめた時に基いて、ベツレヘムとその附近の地方とにいる二歳以下の男の子を、ことごとく殺した。

こうして、預言者エレミヤによって言われたことが、成就したのである。

1:5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we haven’t sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
2:1 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor*Greek παρακλητον: Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, and Comforter. with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.

そこで走って、シモン・ペテロとイエスが愛しておられた、もうひとりの弟子のところへ行って、彼らに言った、「だれかが、主を墓から取り去りました。どこへ置いたのか、わかりません」。

そこでペテロともうひとりの弟子は出かけて、墓へむかって行った。
20:4
ふたりは一緒に走り出したが、そのもうひとりの弟子の方が、ペテロよりも早く走って先に墓に着き、
20:5
そして身をかがめてみると、亜麻布がそこに置いてあるのを見たが、中へははいらなかった。
20:6
シモン・ペテロも続いてきて、墓の中にはいった。彼は亜麻布がそこに置いてあるのを見たが、
20:7
イエスの頭に巻いてあった布は亜麻布のそばにはなくて、はなれた別の場所にくるめてあった。

すると、先に墓に着いたもうひとりの弟子もはいってきて、これを見て信じた。

またあなたがたは、わたしのために長官たちや王たちの前に引き出されるであろう。それは、彼らと異邦人とに対してあかしをするためである。

彼らがあなたがたを引き渡したとき、何をどう言おうかと心配しないがよい。言うべきことは、その時に授けられるからである。

語る者は、あなたがたではなく、あなたがたの中にあって語る父の霊である。

10 They weren’t able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.
54 Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 and said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”
57 But they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed at him with one accord.
58 They threw him out of the city, and stoned him. The witnesses placed their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

46 who found favor in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.

What kind of house will you build me?’ says the Lord;
‘or what is the place of my rest?

51 “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so you do.

53 You received the law as it was ordained by angels, and didn’t keep it!”

初めに言があった。言は神と共にあった。言は神であった。
1:2
この言は初めに神と共にあった。
1:3
すべてのものは、これによってできた。できたもののうち、一つとしてこれによらないものはなかった。
1:4
この言に命があった。そしてこの命は人の光であった。
1:5
光はやみの中に輝いている。そして、やみはこれに勝たなかった。
1:6
ここにひとりの人があって、神からつかわされていた。その名をヨハネと言った。
1:7
この人はあかしのためにきた。光についてあかしをし、彼によってすべての人が信じるためである。
1:8
彼は光ではなく、ただ、光についてあかしをするためにきたのである。
1:9
すべての人を照すまことの光があって、世にきた。
1:10
彼は世にいた。そして、世は彼によってできたのであるが、世は彼を知らずにいた。
1:11
彼は自分のところにきたのに、自分の民は彼を受けいれなかった。
1:12
しかし、彼を受けいれた者、すなわち、その名を信じた人々には、彼は神の子となる力を与えたのである。

よきおとずれを伝え、平和を告げ、よきおとずれを伝え、救を告げ、シオンにむかって「あなたの神は王となられた」と言う者の足は山の上にあって、なんと麗しいことだろう。

聞けよ、あなたの見張びとは声をあげて、共に喜び歌っている。彼らは目と目と相合わせて、主がシオンに帰られるのを見るからだ。
52:9
エルサレムの荒れすたれた所よ、声を放って共に歌え。主はその民を慰め、エルサレムをあがなわれたからだ。
52:10
主はその聖なるかいなを、もろもろの国びとの前にあらわされた。地のすべての果は、われわれの神の救を見る。

この終りの時には、御子によって、わたしたちに語られたのである。神は御子を万物の相続者と定め、また、御子によって、もろもろの世界を造られた。

御子は神の栄光の輝きであり、神の本質の真の姿であって、その力ある言葉をもって万物を保っておられる。そして罪のきよめのわざをなし終えてから、いと高き所にいます大能者の右に、座につかれたのである。

御子は、その受け継がれた名が御使たちの名にまさっているので、彼らよりもすぐれた者となられた。
1:5
いったい、神は御使たちのだれに対して、「あなたこそは、わたしの子。きょう、わたしはあなたを生んだ」と言い、さらにまた、「わたしは彼の父となり、彼はわたしの子となるであろう」と言われたことがあるか。

さらにまた、神は、その長子を世界に導き入れるに当って、「神の御使たちはことごとく、彼を拝すべきである」と言われた。

御使たちが彼らを離れて天に帰ったとき、羊飼たちは「さあ、ベツレヘムへ行って、主がお知らせ下さったその出来事を見てこようではないか」と、互に語り合った。
2:16
そして急いで行って、マリヤとヨセフ、また飼葉おけに寝かしてある幼な子を捜しあてた。
2:17
彼らに会った上で、この子について自分たちに告げ知らされた事を、人々に伝えた。
2:18
人々はみな、羊飼たちが話してくれたことを聞いて、不思議に思った。
2:19
しかし、マリヤはこれらの事をことごとく心に留めて、思いめぐらしていた。
2:20
羊飼たちは、見聞きしたことが何もかも自分たちに語られたとおりであったので、神をあがめ、またさんびしながら帰って行った。
☆イザヤ書(62:11-12)

見よ、主は地の果にまで告げて言われた、「シオンの娘に言え、『見よ、あなたの救は来る。見よ、その報いは主と共にあり、その働きの報いは、その前にある』と。

彼らは『聖なる民、主にあがなわれた者』ととなえられ、あなたは『人に尋ね求められる者、捨てられない町』ととなえられる」。

そのころ、全世界の人口調査をせよとの勅令が、皇帝アウグストから出た。

これは、クレニオがシリヤの総督であった時に行われた最初の人口調査であった。

人々はみな登録をするために、それぞれ自分の町へ帰って行った。
2:4
ヨセフもダビデの家系であり、またその血統であったので、ガリラヤの町ナザレを出て、ユダヤのベツレヘムというダビデの町へ上って行った。
2:5
それは、すでに身重になっていたいいなづけの妻マリヤと共に、登録をするためであった。
2:6
ところが、彼らがベツレヘムに滞在している間に、マリヤは月が満ちて、

初子を産み、布にくるんで、飼葉おけの中に寝かせた。客間には彼らのいる余地がなかったからである。

さて、この地方で羊飼たちが夜、野宿しながら羊の群れの番をしていた。

するとたちまち、おびただしい天の軍勢が現れ、御使と一緒になって神をさんびして言った、

「いと高きところでは、神に栄光があるように、地の上では、み心にかなう人々に平和があるように」。

しかし、苦しみにあった地にも、やみがなくなる。さきにはゼブルンの地、ナフタリの地にはずかしめを与えられたが、後には海に至る道、ヨルダンの向こうの地、異邦人のガリラヤに光栄を与えられる。

暗やみの中に歩んでいた民は大いなる光を見た。暗黒の地に住んでいた人々の上に光が照った。
9:3
あなたが国民を増し、その喜びを大きくされたので、彼らは刈入れ時に喜ぶように、獲物を分かつ時に楽しむように、あなたの前に喜んだ。
9:4

7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace,
who brings good news,
who proclaims salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
8 Your watchmen lift up their voice,
together they sing;
for they shall see eye to eye, when Yahweh returns to Zion.
9 Break out into joy,
sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem;
for Yahweh has comforted his people.
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 Yahweh has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations;

古くから、聖なる預言者たちの口によってお語りになったように、

わたしたちを敵から、またすべてわたしたちを憎む者の手から、救い出すためである。

こうして、神はわたしたちの父祖たちにあわれみをかけ、その聖なる契約、

すなわち、父祖アブラハムにお立てになった誓いをおぼえて、

六か月目に、御使ガブリエルが、神からつかわされて、ナザレというガリラヤの町の一処女のもとにきた。

この処女はダビデ家の出であるヨセフという人のいいなづけになっていて、名をマリヤといった。
1:28
御使がマリヤのところにきて言った、「恵まれた女よ、おめでとう、主があなたと共におられます」。
1:29
この言葉にマリヤはひどく胸騒ぎがして、このあいさつはなんの事であろうかと、思いめぐらしていた。
1:30
すると御使が言った、「恐れるな、マリヤよ、あなたは神から恵みをいただいているのです。
1:31
見よ、あなたはみごもって男の子を産むでしょう。その子をイエスと名づけなさい。
1:32
彼は大いなる者となり、いと高き者の子と、となえられるでしょう。そして、主なる神は彼に父ダビデの王座をお与えになり、

彼はとこしえにヤコブの家を支配し、その支配は限りなく続くでしょう」。

13 He said, “Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.*
*7:14: “Immanuel” means “God with us”.

34 Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, seeing I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born from you will be called the Son of God.
36 Behold, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.

ユダヤの王ヘロデの世に、アビヤの組の祭司で名をザカリヤという者がいた。その妻はアロン家の娘のひとりで、名をエリサベツといった。

ふたりとも神のみまえに正しい人であって、主の戒めと定めとを、みな落度なく行っていた。
1:7
ところが、エリサベツは不妊の女であったため、彼らには子がなく、そしてふたりともすでに年老いていた。
1:8
さてザカリヤは、その組が当番になり神のみまえに祭司の務をしていたとき、

祭司職の慣例に従ってくじを引いたところ、主の聖所にはいって香をたくことになった。

香をたいている間、多くの民衆はみな外で祈っていた。

すると主の御使が現れて、香壇の右に立った。

ザカリヤはこれを見て、おじ惑い、恐怖の念に襲われた。

民衆はザカリヤを待っていたので、彼が聖所内で暇どっているのを不思議に思っていた。

それであなたは気をつけて、ぶどう酒または濃い酒を飲んではなりません。またすべて汚れたものを食べてはなりません。

あなたは身ごもって男の子を産むでしょう。その頭にかみそりをあててはなりません。その子は生れた時から神にささげられたナジルびとです。彼はペリシテびとの手からイスラエルを救い始めるでしょう」。

そこでその女はきて夫に言った、「神の人がわたしのところにきました。その顔かたちは神の使の顔かたちのようで、たいそう恐ろしゅうございました。わたしはその人が、どこからきたのか尋ねませんでしたが、その人もわたしに名を告げませんでした。

2 There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and childless.
3 Yahweh’s angel appeared to the woman, and said to her, “See now, you are barren and childless; but you shall conceive, and bear a son.
4 Now therefore please beware and drink no wine nor strong drink, and don’t eat any unclean thing:
5 for, behold, you shall conceive, and give birth to a son. No razor shall come on his head; for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb. He shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”
6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, “A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, very awesome; and I didn’t ask him where he was from, neither did he tell me his name;
7 but he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, and don’t eat any unclean thing; for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’”
24 The woman bore a son, and named him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him.

5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the priestly division of Abijah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
6 They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.
7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years.
8 Now while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his division,
9 according to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to enter into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
10 The whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.
11 An angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 Zacharias was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.
13 But the angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zacharias, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
14 You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth.
15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
16 He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God.
17 He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people prepared for the Lord.”
18 Zacharias said to the angel, “How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”
19 The angel answered him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news.

21 The people were waiting for Zacharias, and they marveled that he delayed in the temple. 22 When he came out, he could not speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple. He continued making signs to them, and remained mute. 23 When the days of his service were fulfilled, he departed to his house. 24 After these days Elizabeth, his wife, conceived, and she hid herself five months, saying, 25 “Thus has the Lord done to me in the days in which he looked at me, to take away my reproach among men.”

彼がこのことを思いめぐらしていたとき、主の使が夢に現れて言った、「ダビデの子ヨセフよ、心配しないでマリヤを妻として迎えるがよい。その胎内に宿っているものは聖霊によるのである。

5 Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name by which he shall be called: Yahweh our righteousness.
7 Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that they shall no more say, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8 but, As Yahweh lives, who brought up and who led the offspring* of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them. They shall dwell in their own land.

21 She shall give birth to a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”

They shall call his name Immanuel”;

24 Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself;

by the greatness of his might,
and because he is strong in power,
Not one is lacking.
27 Why do you say, Jacob,
and speak, Israel,
“My way is hidden from Yahweh,
and the justice due me is disregarded by my God?”
28 Haven’t you known?
Haven’t you heard?
The everlasting God, Yahweh,
The Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint.
He isn’t weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak.
He increases the strength of him who has no might.
30 Even the youths faint and get weary,
and the young men utterly fall;
31 But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength.
They will mount up with wings like eagles.
They will run, and not be weary.
They will walk, and not faint.
