ヨハネによる福音(14:27-31a)
14:27
わたしは平安をあなたがたに残して行く。わたしの平安をあなたがたに与える。わたしが与えるのは、世が与えるようなものとは異なる。あなたがたは心を騒がせるな、またおじけるな。
14:28
『わたしは去って行くが、またあなたがたのところに帰って来る』と、わたしが言ったのを、あなたがたは聞いている。もしわたしを愛しているなら、わたしが父のもとに行くのを喜んでくれるであろう。父がわたしより大きいかたであるからである。
14:29
今わたしは、そのことが起らない先にあなたがたに語った。それは、事が起った時にあなたがたが信じるためである。
14:30
わたしはもはや、あなたがたに、多くを語るまい。この世の君が来るからである。だが、彼はわたしに対して、なんの力もない。
14:31a
しかし、わたしが父を愛していることを世が知るように、わたしは父がお命じになったとおりのことを行うのである。

ところが、あるユダヤ人たちはアンテオケやイコニオムから押しかけてきて、群衆を仲間に引き入れたうえ、パウロを石で打ち、死んでしまったと思って、彼を町の外に引きずり出した。

しかし、弟子たちがパウロを取り囲んでいる間に、彼は起きあがって町にはいって行った。そして翌日には、バルナバと一緒にデルベにむかって出かけた。

その町で福音を伝えて、大ぜいの人を弟子とした後、ルステラ、イコニオム、アンテオケの町々に帰って行き、

弟子たちを力づけ、信仰を持ちつづけるようにと奨励し、「わたしたちが神の国にはいるのには、多くの苦難を経なければならない」と語った。
14:23
また教会ごとに彼らのために長老たちを任命し、断食をして祈り、彼らをその信じている主にゆだねた。
14:24
それから、ふたりはピシデヤを通過してパンフリヤにきたが、
14:25
ペルガで御言を語った後、アタリヤにくだり、
14:26
そこから舟でアンテオケに帰った。彼らが今なし終った働きのために、神の祝福を受けて送り出されたのは、このアンテオケからであった。
14:27
彼らは到着早々、教会の人々を呼び集めて、神が彼らと共にいてして下さった数々のこと、また信仰の門を異邦人に開いて下さったことなどを、報告した。
14:28
そして、ふたりはしばらくの間、弟子たちと一緒に過ごした。

20:1
またわたしが見ていると、ひとりの御使が、底知れぬ所のかぎと大きな鎖とを手に持って、天から降りてきた。
20:2
彼は、悪魔でありサタンである龍、すなわち、かの年を経たへびを捕えて千年の間つなぎおき、
20:3
そして、底知れぬ所に投げ込み、入口を閉じてその上に封印し、千年の期間が終るまで、諸国民を惑わすことがないようにしておいた。その後、しばらくの間だけ解放されることになっていた。
20:4
また見ていると、かず多くの座があり、その上に人々がすわっていた。そして、彼らにさばきの権が与えられていた。また、イエスのあかしをし神の言を伝えたために首を切られた人々の霊がそこにおり、また、獣をもその像をも拝まず、その刻印を額や手に受けることをしなかった人々がいた。彼らは生きかえって、キリストと共に千年の間、支配した。
20:5
（それ以外の死人は、千年の期間が終るまで生きかえらなかった。）これが第一の復活である。
20:6
この第一の復活にあずかる者は、さいわいな者であり、また聖なる者である。この人たちに対しては、第二の死はなんの力もない。彼らは神とキリストとの祭司となり、キリストと共に千年の間、支配する。
20:7
千年の期間が終ると、サタンはその獄から解放される。
20:8
そして、出て行き、地の四方にいる諸国民、すなわちゴグ、マゴグを惑わし、彼らを戦いのために召集する。その数は、海の砂のように多い。
20:9
彼らは地上の広い所に上ってきて、聖徒たちの陣営と愛されていた都とを包囲した。すると、天から火が下ってきて、彼らを焼き尽した。
20:10
そして、彼らを惑わした悪魔は、火と硫黄との池に投げ込まれた。そこには、獣もにせ預言者もいて、彼らは世々限りなく日夜、苦しめられるのである。
20:11
また見ていると、大きな白い御座があり、そこにいますかたがあった。天も地も御顔の前から逃げ去って、あとかたもなくなった。
20:12
また、死んでいた者が、大いなる者も小さき者も共に、御座の前に立っているのが見えた。かずかずの書物が開かれたが、もう一つの書物が開かれた。これはいのちの書であった。死人はそのしわざに応じ、この書物に書かれていることにしたがって、さばかれた。
20:13
海はその中にいる死人を出し、死も黄泉もその中にいる死人を出し、そして、おのおのそのしわざに応じて、さばきを受けた。
20:14
それから、死も黄泉も火の池に投げ込まれた。この火の池が第二の死である。
20:15
このいのちの書に名がしるされていない者はみな、火の池に投げ込まれた。

29 Now I have told you before it happens so that, when it happens, you may believe.
30 I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world comes, and he has nothing in me.
31a But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do.

Acts 14:19-28
19 But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
20 But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city. On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 When they had preached the Good News to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,
22 confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into God’s Kingdom.
23 When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.
24 They passed through Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
25 When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
26 From there they sailed to Antioch, from where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.
27 When they had arrived, and had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.
28 They stayed there with the disciples for a long time.

*Revelation 20:1-15
1 I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
2 He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years,
3 and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were finished. After this, he must be freed for a short time.
4 I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
5 The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years.
7 And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison,
8 and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 They went up over the width of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God, and devoured them.
10 The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
11 I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.
12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades*or, Hell gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.
14 Death and Hades†or, Hell were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
15 If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

14:21
わたしのいましめを心にいだいてこれを守る者は、わたしを愛する者である。わたしを愛する者は、わたしの父に愛されるであろう。わたしもその人を愛し、その人にわたし自身をあらわすであろう」。
14:22
イスカリオテでない方のユダがイエスに言った、「主よ、あなたご自身をわたしたちにあらわそうとして、世にはあらわそうとされないのはなぜですか」。
14:23
イエスは彼に答えて言われた、「もしだれでもわたしを愛するならば、わたしの言葉を守るであろう。そして、わたしの父はその人を愛し、また、わたしたちはその人のところに行って、その人と一緒に住むであろう。
14:24
わたしを愛さない者はわたしの言葉を守らない。あなたがたが聞いている言葉は、わたしの言葉ではなく、わたしをつかわされた父の言葉である。
14:25
これらのことは、あなたがたと一緒にいた時、すでに語ったことである。
14:26
しかし、助け主、すなわち、父がわたしの名によってつかわされる聖霊は、あなたがたにすべてのことを教え、またわたしが話しておいたことを、ことごとく思い起させるであろう。

その時、異邦人やユダヤ人が役人たちと一緒になって反対運動を起し、使徒たちをはずかしめ、石で打とうとしたので、

ふたりはそれと気づいて、ルカオニヤの町々、ルステラ、デルベおよびその附近の地へのがれ、

そこで引きつづき福音を伝えた。

ところが、ルステラに足のきかない人が、すわっていた。彼は生れながらの足なえで、歩いた経験が全くなかった。
14:9
この人がパウロの語るのを聞いていたが、パウロは彼をじっと見て、いやされるほどの信仰が彼にあるのを認め、
14:10
大声で「自分の足で、まっすぐに立ちなさい」と言った。すると彼は踊り上がって歩き出した。
14:11
群衆はパウロのしたことを見て、声を張りあげ、ルカオニヤの地方語で、「神々が人間の姿をとって、わたしたちのところにお下りになったのだ」と叫んだ。
14:12
彼らはバルナバをゼウスと呼び、パウロはおもに語る人なので、彼をヘルメスと呼んだ。
14:13
そして、郊外にあるゼウス神殿の祭司が、群衆と共に、ふたりに犠牲をささげようと思って、雄牛数頭と花輪とを門前に持ってきた。
14:14
ふたりの使徒バルナバとパウロとは、これを聞いて自分の上着を引き裂き、群衆の中に飛び込んで行き、叫んで

言った、「皆さん、なぜこんな事をするのか。わたしたちとても、あなたがたと同じような人間である。そして、あなたがたがこのような愚にもつかぬものを捨てて、天と地と海と、その中のすべてのものをお造りになった生ける神に立ち帰るようにと、福音を説いているものである。

神は過ぎ去った時代には、すべての国々の人が、それぞれの道を行くままにしておかれたが、

それでも、ご自分のことをあかししないでおられたわけではない。すなわち、あなたがたのために天から雨を降らせ、実りの季節を与え、食物と喜びとで、あなたがたの心を満たすなど、いろいろのめぐみをお与えになっているのである」。

こう言って、ふたりは、やっとのことで、群衆が自分たちに犠牲をささげるのを、思い止まらせた。

またわたしが見ていると、天が開かれ、見よ、そこに白い馬がいた。それに乗っているかたは、「忠実で真実な者」と呼ばれ、義によってさばき、また、戦うかたである。
19:12
その目は燃える炎であり、その頭には多くの冠があった。また、彼以外にはだれも知らない名がその身にしるされていた。
19:13
彼は血染めの衣をまとい、その名は「神の言」と呼ばれた。
19:14
そして、天の軍勢が、純白で、汚れのない麻布の衣を着て、白い馬に乗り、彼に従った。
19:15
その口からは、諸国民を打つために、鋭いつるぎが出ていた。彼は、鉄のつえをもって諸国民を治め、また、全能者なる神の激しい怒りの酒ぶねを踏む。
19:16
その着物にも、そのももにも、「王の王、主の主」という名がしるされていた。
19:17
また見ていると、ひとりの御使が太陽の中に立っていた。彼は、中空を飛んでいるすべての鳥にむかって、大声で叫んだ、「さあ、神の大宴会に集まってこい。
19:18
そして、王たちの肉、将軍の肉、勇者の肉、馬の肉、馬に乗っている者の肉、また、すべての自由人と奴隷との肉、小さき者と大いなる者との肉をくらえ」。
19:19
なお見ていると、獣と地の王たちと彼らの軍勢とが集まり、馬に乗っているかたとその軍勢とに対して、戦いをいどんだ。
19:20
しかし、獣は捕えられ、また、この獣の前でしるしを行って、獣の刻印を受けた者とその像を拝む者とを惑わしたにせ預言者も、獣と共に捕えられた。そして、この両者とも、生きながら、硫黄の燃えている火の池に投げ込まれた。
19:21
それ以外の者たちは、馬に乗っておられるかたの口から出るつるぎで切り殺され、その肉を、すべての鳥が飽きるまで食べた。

Gospel: John 14:21-26
21 One who has my commandments, and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”
23 Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.
24 He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words. The word which you hear isn’t mine, but the Father’s who sent me.
25 I have said these things to you, while still living with you.
26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.

5 When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them,
6 they became aware of it, and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.
7 There they preached the Good News.
8 At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.
9 He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,
10 said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” He leaped up and walked.
11 When the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of Lycaonia, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”
12 They called Barnabas “Jupiter”, and Paul “Mercury”, because he was the chief speaker.
13 The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have made a sacrifice along with the multitudes.
14 But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they tore their clothes, and sprang into the multitude, crying out,
15 “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;
16 who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.
17 Yet he didn’t leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you†TR reads “us” instead of “you” rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
18 Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes from making a sacrifice to them.

13 He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The Word of God.”
14 The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen.
15 Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod.☆Psalm 2:9 He treads the wine press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty.
16 He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
17 I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the sky, “Come! Be gathered together to the great supper of God,*TR reads “supper of the great God” instead of “great supper of God”
18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, and small and great.”
19 I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse, and against his army.
20 The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
21 The rest were killed with the sword of him who sat on the horse, the sword which came out of his mouth. All the birds were filled with their flesh.

彼によって栄光をお受けになったのなら、神ご自身も彼に栄光をお授けになるであろう。すぐにもお授けになるであろう。

子たちよ、わたしはまだしばらく、あなたがたと一緒にいる。

わたしは、新しいいましめをあなたがたに与える、互に愛し合いなさい。わたしがあなたがたを愛したように、あなたがたも互に愛し合いなさい。

また、おまえの中では、立琴をひく者、歌を歌う者、笛を吹く者、ラッパを吹き鳴らす者の楽の音は全く聞かれず、あらゆる仕事の職人たちも全く姿を消し、また、ひきうすの音も、全く聞かれない。

すると、二十四人の長老と四つの生き物とがひれ伏し、御座にいます神を拝して言った、「アァメン、ハレルヤ」。

その時、御座から声が出て言った、「すべての神の僕たちよ、神をおそれる者たちよ。小さき者も大いなる者も、共に、われらの神をさんびせよ」。

わたしはまた、大群衆の声、多くの水の音、また激しい雷鳴のようなものを聞いた。それはこう言った、「ハレルヤ、全能者にして主なるわれらの神は、王なる支配者であられる。

わたしたちは喜び楽しみ、神をあがめまつろう。小羊の婚姻の時がきて、花嫁はその用意をしたからである。
19:8
彼女は、光り輝く、汚れのない麻布の衣を着ることを許された。この麻布の衣は、聖徒たちの正しい行いである」。
19:9
それから、御使はわたしに言った、「書きしるせ。小羊の婚宴に招かれた者は、さいわいである」。またわたしに言った、「これらは、神の真実の言葉である」。
19:10
そこで、わたしは彼の足もとにひれ伏して、彼を拝そうとした。すると、彼は言った、「そのようなことをしてはいけない。わたしは、あなたと同じ僕仲間であり、またイエスのあかしびとであるあなたの兄弟たちと同じ僕仲間である。ただ神だけを拝しなさい。イエスのあかしは、すなわち預言の霊である」。

ピリポはイエスに言った、「主よ、わたしたちに父を示して下さい。そうして下されば、わたしたちは満足します」。
14:9
イエスは彼に言われた、「ピリポよ、こんなに長くあなたがたと一緒にいるのに、わたしがわかっていないのか。わたしを見た者は、父を見たのである。どうして、わたしたちに父を示してほしいと、言うのか。
14:10
わたしが父におり、父がわたしにおられることをあなたは信じないのか。わたしがあなたがたに話している言葉は、自分から話しているのではない。父がわたしのうちにおられて、みわざをなさっているのである。

わたしが父におり、父がわたしにおられることを信じなさい。もしそれが信じられないならば、わざそのものによって信じなさい。

彼は力強い声で叫んで言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。そして、それは悪魔の住む所、あらゆる汚れた霊の巣くつ、また、あらゆる汚れた憎むべき鳥の巣くつとなった。
18:3
すべての国民は、彼女の姦淫に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、地の王たちは彼女と姦淫を行い、地上の商人たちは、彼女の極度のぜいたくによって富を得たからである」。
18:4
わたしはまた、もうひとつの声が天から出るのを聞いた、「わたしの民よ。彼女から離れ去って、その罪にあずからないようにし、その災害に巻き込まれないようにせよ。

彼女の罪は積り積って天に達しており、神はその不義の行いを覚えておられる。

彼女がしたとおりに彼女にし返し、そのしわざに応じて二倍に報復をし、彼女が混ぜて入れた杯の中に、その倍の量を、入れてやれ。

彼女が自ら高ぶり、ぜいたくをほしいままにしたので、それに対して、同じほどの苦しみと悲しみとを味わわせてやれ。彼女は心の中で『わたしは女王の位についている者であって、やもめではないのだから、悲しみを知らない』と言っている。

それゆえ、さまざまの災害が、死と悲しみとききんとが、一日のうちに彼女を襲い、そして、彼女は火で焼かれてしまう。彼女をさばく主なる神は、力強いかたなのである。

彼女と姦淫を行い、ぜいたくをほしいままにしていた地の王たちは、彼女が焼かれる火の煙を見て、彼女のために胸を打って泣き悲しみ、

彼女の苦しみに恐れをいだき、遠くに立って言うであろう、『ああ、わざわいだ、大いなる都、不落の都、バビロンは、わざわいだ。おまえに対するさばきは、一瞬にしてきた』。

また、地の商人たちも彼女のために泣き悲しむ。もはや、彼らの商品を買う者が、ひとりもないからである。

その商品は、金、銀、宝石、真珠、麻布、紫布、絹、緋布、各種の香木、各種の象牙細工、高価な木材、銅、鉄、大理石などの器、

肉桂、香料、香、におい油、乳香、ぶどう酒、オリブ油、麦粉、麦、牛、羊、馬、車、奴隷、そして人身などである。

おまえの心の喜びであったくだものはなくなり、あらゆるはでな、はなやかな物はおまえから消え去った。それらのものはもはや見られない。

44 The next Sabbath almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.
45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.
46 Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 For so has the Lord commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles,
that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’” ☆Isaiah 49:6
48 As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
49 The Lord’s word was spread abroad throughout all the region.
50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.
51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
52 The disciples were filled with joy with the Holy Spirit.

2 He cried with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird!
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury.”
4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues,
5 for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities.
6 Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.
7 However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, ‘I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.’
8 Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.
9 The kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her, will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning,
10 standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.’
11 The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more;
12 merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;
13 and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, sheep, horses, chariots, and people’s bodies and souls.
14 The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far away for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;
16 saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls!
17 For in an hour such great riches are made desolate.’ Every ship master, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away,
18 and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like the great city?’
19 They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth!’ For she is made desolate in one hour.
20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her.”

14:3
そして、行って、場所の用意ができたならば、またきて、あなたがたをわたしのところに迎えよう。わたしのおる所にあなたがたもおらせるためである。
14:4
わたしがどこへ行くのか、その道はあなたがたにわかっている」。
14:5
トマスはイエスに言った、「主よ、どこへおいでになるのか、わたしたちにはわかりません。どうしてその道がわかるでしょう」。

イエスは彼に言われた、「わたしは道であり、真理であり、命である。だれでもわたしによらないでは、父のみもとに行くことはできない。

それから、七つの鉢を持つ七人の御使のひとりがきて、わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。多くの水の上にすわっている大淫婦に対するさばきを、見せよう。
17:2
地の王たちはこの女と姦淫を行い、地に住む人々はこの女の姦淫のぶどう酒に酔いしれている」。
17:3
御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、荒野へ連れて行った。わたしは、そこでひとりの女が赤い獣に乗っているのを見た。その獣は神を汚すかずかずの名でおおわれ、また、それに七つの頭と十の角とがあった。
17:4
この女は紫と赤の衣をまとい、金と宝石と真珠とで身を飾り、憎むべきものと自分の姦淫の汚れとで満ちている金の杯を手に持ち、
17:5
その額には、一つの名がしるされていた。それは奥義であって、「大いなるバビロン、淫婦どもと地の憎むべきものらとの母」というのであった。
17:6
わたしは、この女が聖徒の血とイエスの証人の血に酔いしれているのを見た。この女を見た時、わたしは非常に驚きあやしんだ。
17:7
すると、御使はわたしに言った、「なぜそんなに驚くのか。この女の奥義と、女を乗せている七つの頭と十の角のある獣の奥義とを、話してあげよう。
17:8
あなたの見た獣は、昔はいたが、今はおらず、そして、やがて底知れぬ所から上ってきて、ついには滅びに至るものである。地に住む者のうち、世の初めからいのちの書に名をしるされていない者たちは、この獣が、昔はいたが今はおらず、やがて来るのを見て、驚きあやしむであろう。
17:9
ここに、知恵のある心が必要である。七つの頭は、この女のすわっている七つの山であり、また、七人の王のことである。
17:10
そのうちの五人はすでに倒れ、ひとりは今おり、もうひとりは、まだきていない。それが来れば、しばらくの間だけおることになっている。
17:11
昔はいたが今はいないという獣は、すなわち第八のものであるが、またそれは、かの七人の中のひとりであって、ついには滅びに至るものである。
17:12

そして、行って、場所の用意ができたならば、またきて、あなたがたをわたしのところに迎えよう。わたしのおる所にあなたがたもおらせるためである。

わたしがどこへ行くのか、その道はあなたがたにわかっている」。

地の王たちはこの女と姦淫を行い、地に住む人々はこの女の姦淫のぶどう酒に酔いしれている」。

御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、荒野へ連れて行った。わたしは、そこでひとりの女が赤い獣に乗っているのを見た。その獣は神を汚すかずかずの名でおおわれ、また、それに七つの頭と十の角とがあった。

この女は紫と赤の衣をまとい、金と宝石と真珠とで身を飾り、憎むべきものと自分の姦淫の汚れとで満ちている金の杯を手に持ち、

その額には、一つの名がしるされていた。それは奥義であって、「大いなるバビロン、淫婦どもと地の憎むべきものらとの母」というのであった。

わたしは、この女が聖徒の血とイエスの証人の血に酔いしれているのを見た。この女を見た時、わたしは非常に驚きあやしんだ。

すると、御使はわたしに言った、「なぜそんなに驚くのか。この女の奥義と、女を乗せている七つの頭と十の角のある獣の奥義とを、話してあげよう。

あなたの見た獣は、昔はいたが、今はおらず、そして、やがて底知れぬ所から上ってきて、ついには滅びに至るものである。地に住む者のうち、世の初めからいのちの書に名をしるされていない者たちは、この獣が、昔はいたが今はおらず、やがて来るのを見て、驚きあやしむであろう。

ここに、知恵のある心が必要である。七つの頭は、この女のすわっている七つの山であり、また、七人の王のことである。

28 Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.

1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters,
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and those who dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her sexual immorality.”
3 He carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored animal, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of the sexual immorality of the earth.
5 And on her forehead a name was written, “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
6 I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.
7 The angel said to me, “Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.
8 The beast that you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss and to go into destruction. Those who dwell on the earth and whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel when they see that the beast was, and is not, and shall be present.*TR reads “yet is” instead of “shall be present”
9 Here is the mind that has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits.
10 They are seven kings. Five have fallen, the one is, the other has not yet come. When he comes, he must continue a little while.
11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is of the seven; and he goes to destruction.
12 The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority as kings, with the beast, for one hour.
13 These have one mind, and they give their power and authority to the beast.
14 These will war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and those who are with him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
15 He said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.
16 The ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute, and will make her desolate, and will make her naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her utterly with fire.
17 For God has put in their hearts to do what he has in mind, and to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished.
18 The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

信じる者には、このようなしるしが伴う。すなわち、彼らはわたしの名で悪霊を追い出し、新しい言葉を語り、
16:18
へびをつかむであろう。また、毒を飲んでも、決して害を受けない。病人に手をおけば、いやされる」。

主イエスは彼らに語り終ってから、天にあげられ、神の右にすわられた。

また、わたしを見る者は、わたしをつかわされたかたを見るのである。

わたしは光としてこの世にきた。それは、わたしを信じる者が、やみのうちにとどまらないようになるためである。

たとい、わたしの言うことを聞いてそれを守らない人があっても、わたしはその人をさばかない。わたしがきたのは、この世をさばくためではなく、この世を救うためである。

すると、もうひとりの御使が聖所から出てきて、雲の上に座している者にむかって大声で叫んだ、「かまを入れて刈り取りなさい。地の穀物は全く実り、刈り取るべき時がきた」。
14:16
雲の上に座している者は、そのかまを地に投げ入れた。すると、地のものが刈り取られた。
14:17
また、もうひとりの御使が、天の聖所から出てきたが、彼もまた鋭いかまを持っていた。
14:18
さらに、もうひとりの御使で、火を支配する権威を持っている者が、祭壇から出てきて、鋭いかまを持つ御使にむかい、大声で言った、「その鋭いかまを地に入れて、地のぶどうのふさを刈り集めなさい。ぶどうの実がすでに熟しているから」。

そこで、御使はそのかまを地に投げ入れて、地のぶどうを刈り集め、神の激しい怒りの大きな酒ぶねに投げ込んだ。

そして、その酒ぶねが都の外で踏まれた。すると、血が酒ぶねから流れ出て、馬のくつわにとどくほどになり、一千六百丁にわたってひろがった。

またわたしは、天に大いなる驚くべきほかのしるしを見た。七人の御使が、最後の七つの災害を携えていた。これらの災害で神の激しい怒りがその頂点に達するのである。

4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia. From there they sailed to Cyprus.
5 When they were at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. They had also John as their attendant.

15 Another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, “Send your sickle, and reap; for the hour to reap has come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe!”
16 He who sat on the cloud thrust his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
17 Another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven. He also had a sharp sickle.
18 Another angel came out from the altar, he who has power over fire, and he called with a great voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Send your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for the earth’s grapes are fully ripe!”
19 The angel thrust his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vintage of the earth, and threw it into the great wine press of the wrath of God.
20 The wine press was trodden outside of the city, and blood came out of the wine press, even to the bridles of the horses, as far as one thousand six hundred stadia.†1600 stadia = 296 kilometers or 184 miles
15:1 I saw another great and marvelous sign in the sky: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them God’s wrath is finished.

3 They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

イエスは、宮の中にあるソロモンの廊を歩いておられた。
10:24
するとユダヤ人たちが、イエスを取り囲んで言った、「いつまでわたしたちを不安のままにしておくのか。あなたがキリストであるなら、そうとはっきり言っていただきたい」。
10:25
イエスは彼らに答えられた、「わたしは話したのだが、あなたがたは信じようとしない。わたしの父の名によってしているすべてのわざが、わたしのことをあかししている。
10:26
あなたがたが信じないのは、わたしの羊でないからである。
10:27
わたしの羊はわたしの声に聞き従う。わたしは彼らを知っており、彼らはわたしについて来る。

22 It was the Feast of the Dedication*The “Feast of the Dedication” is the Greek name for “Hanukkah”, a celebration of the rededication of the Temple. at Jerusalem.
23 It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.
24 The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.
26 But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and the Father are one.”

19 They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists,†A Hellenist is someone who keeps Greek customs and culture. preaching the Lord Jesus.
21 The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
22 The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,
23 who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
25 Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
26 When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

2 I heard a sound from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like the sound of a great thunder. The sound which I heard was like that of harpists playing on their harps.
3 They sing a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand, those who had been redeemed out of the earth.
4 These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed by Jesus from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb.
5 In their mouth was found no lie, for they are blameless.*TR adds “before the throne of God”
6 I saw an angel flying in mid heaven, having an eternal Good News to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation, tribe, language, and people.
7 He said with a loud voice, “Fear the Lord, and give him glory; for the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and the springs of waters!”
8 Another, a second angel, followed, saying, “Babylon the great has fallen, which has made all the nations to drink of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality.”
9 Another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a great voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead, or on his hand,
10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is prepared unmixed in the cup of his anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 The smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. They have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
13 I heard the voice from heaven saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them.”

8 Another, a second angel, followed, saying, “Babylon the great has fallen, which has made all the nations to drink of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality.”
9 Another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a great voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead, or on his hand,
10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is prepared unmixed in the cup of his anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 The smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. They have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
13 I heard the voice from heaven saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”

10:1
よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。羊の囲いにはいるのに、門からでなく、ほかの所からのりこえて来る者は、盗人であり、強盗である。
10:2
門からはいる者は、羊の羊飼である。
10:3
門番は彼のために門を開き、羊は彼の声を聞く。そして彼は自分の羊の名をよんで連れ出す。
10:4
自分の羊をみな出してしまうと、彼は羊の先頭に立って行く。羊はその声を知っているので、彼について行くのである。
10:5
ほかの人には、ついて行かないで逃げ去る。その人の声を知らないからである」。
10:6
イエスは彼らにこの比喩を話されたが、彼らは自分たちにお話しになっているのが何のことだか、わからなかった。
10:7

そこでペテロがエルサレムに上ったとき、割礼を重んじる者たちが彼をとがめて言った、

「あなたは、割礼のない人たちのところに行って、食事を共にしたということだが」。
11:4
そこでペテロは口を開いて、順序正しく説明して言った、
11:5
「わたしがヨッパの町で祈っていると、夢心地になって幻を見た。大きな布のような入れ物が、四すみをつるされて、天から降りてきて、わたしのところにとどいた。
11:6
注意して見つめていると、地上の四つ足、野の獣、這うもの、空の鳥などが、はいっていた。
11:7
それから声がして、『ペテロよ、立って、それらをほふって食べなさい』と、わたしに言うのが聞えた。
11:8
わたしは言った、『主よ、それはできません。わたしは今までに、清くないものや汚れたものを口に入れたことが一度もございません』。
11:9
すると、二度目に天から声がかかってきた、『神がきよめたものを、清くないなどと言ってはならない』。
11:10
こんなことが三度もあってから、全部のものがまた天に引き上げられてしまった。
11:11
ちょうどその時、カイザリヤからつかわされてきた三人の人が、わたしたちの泊まっていた家に着いた。
11:12
御霊がわたしに、ためらわずに彼らと共に行けと言ったので、ここにいる六人の兄弟たちも、わたしと一緒に出かけて行き、一同がその人の家にはいった。
11:13
すると彼はわたしたちに、御使が彼の家に現れて、『ヨッパに人をやって、ペテロと呼ばれるシモンを招きなさい。
11:14
この人は、あなたとあなたの全家族とが救われる言葉を語って下さるであろう』と告げた次第を、話してくれた。
11:15
そこでわたしが語り出したところ、聖霊が、ちょうど最初わたしたちの上にくだったと同じように、彼らの上にくだった。
11:16
その時わたしは、主が『ヨハネは水でバプテスマを授けたが、あなたがたは聖霊によってバプテスマを受けるであろう』と仰せになった言葉を思い出した。
11:17
このように、わたしたちが主イエス・キリストを信じた時に下さったのと同じ賜物を、神が彼らにもお与えになったとすれば、わたしのような者が、どうして神を妨げることができようか」。
11:18
人々はこれを聞いて黙ってしまった。それから神をさんびして、「それでは神は、異邦人にも命にいたる悔改めをお与えになったのだ」と言った。

わたしはまた、一匹の獣が海から上って来るのを見た。それには角が十本、頭が七つあり、それらの角には十の冠があって、頭には神を汚す名がついていた。
13:2
わたしの見たこの獣はひょうに似ており、その足はくまの足のようで、その口はししの口のようであった。龍は自分の力と位と大いなる権威とを、この獣に与えた。
13:3
その頭の一つが、死ぬほどの傷を受けたが、その致命的な傷もなおってしまった。そこで、全地の人々は驚きおそれて、その獣に従い、
13:4
また、龍がその権威を獣に与えたので、人々は龍を拝み、さらに、その獣を拝んで言った、「だれが、この獣に匹敵し得ようか。だれが、これと戦うことができようか」。
13:5
この獣には、また、大言を吐き汚しごとを語る口が与えられ、四十二か月のあいだ活動する権威が与えられた。
13:6
そこで、彼は口を開いて神を汚し、神の御名と、その幕屋、すなわち、天に住む者たちとを汚した。
13:7
そして彼は、聖徒に戦いをいどんでこれに勝つことを許され、さらに、すべての部族、民族、国語、国民を支配する権威を与えられた。
13:8
地に住む者で、ほふられた小羊のいのちの書に、その名を世の初めからしるされていない者はみな、この獣を拝むであろう。
13:9
耳のある者は、聞くがよい。
13:10
とりこになるべき者は、とりこになっていく。つるぎで殺す者は、自らもつるぎで殺されねばならない。ここに、聖徒たちの忍耐 と信仰とがある。
13:11
わたしはまた、ほかの獣が地から上って来るのを見た。それには小羊のような角が二つあって、龍のように物を言った。
13:12
そして、先の獣の持つすべての権力をその前で働かせた。また、地と地に住む人々に、致命的な傷がいやされた先の獣を拝ませた。
13:13
また、大いなるしるしを行って、人々の前で火を天から地に降らせることさえした。
13:14
さらに、先の獣の前で行うのを許されたしるしで、地に住む人々を惑わし、かつ、つるぎの傷を受けてもなお生きている先の獣の像を造ることを、地に住む人々に命じた。
13:15
それから、その獣の像に息を吹き込んで、その獣の像が物を言うことさえできるようにし、また、その獣の像を拝まない者をみな殺させた。
13:16
また、小さき者にも、大いなる者にも、富める者にも、貧しき者にも、自由人にも、奴隷にも、すべての人々に、その右の手あるいは額に刻印を押させ、
13:17
この刻印のない者はみな、物を買うことも売ることもできないようにした。この刻印は、その獣の名、または、その名の数字のことである。
13:18
ここに、知恵が必要である。思慮のある者は、獣の数字を解くがよい。その数字とは、人間をさすものである。そして、その数字は六百六十六である。

Gospel: John 10:1-10
1 “Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
4 Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”
6 Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
7 Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.
8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.
10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

Acts 11:1-18
1 Now the apostles and the brothers* who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
2 When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,
3 saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men, and ate with them!”
4 But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,
5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
6 When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.
7 I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’
8 But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’
9 But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’
10 This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
11 Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.
12 The Spirit told me to go with them, without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house.
13 He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa, and get Simon, who is called Peter,
14 who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
16 I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’
17 If then God gave to them the same gift as us, when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names.
2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast.
4 They worshiped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
5 A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him.
6 He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his dwelling, those who dwell in heaven.
7 It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him.
8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
10 If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed.* Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.
11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon.
12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.
13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people.
14 He deceives my own† people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.
15 It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads;
17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.

パウロとバルナバとは大胆に語った、「神の言は、まず、あなたがたに語り伝えられなければならなかった。しかし、あなたがたはそれを退け、自分自身を永遠の命にふさわしからぬ者にしてしまったから、さあ、わたしたちはこれから方向をかえて、異邦人たちの方に行くのだ。

ところが、ユダヤ人たちは、信心深い貴婦人たちや町の有力者たちを煽動して、パウロとバルナバを迫害させ、ふたりをその地方から追い出させた。

また、大いなるしるしが天に現れた。ひとりの女が太陽を着て、足の下に月を踏み、その頭に十二の星の冠をかぶっていた。

この女は子を宿しており、産みの苦しみと悩みとのために、泣き叫んでいた。
12:3
また、もう一つのしるしが天に現れた。見よ、大きな、赤い龍がいた。それに七つの頭と十の角とがあり、その頭に七つの冠をかぶっていた。
12:4
その尾は天の星の三分の一を掃き寄せ、それらを地に投げ落した。龍は子を産もうとしている女の前に立ち、生れたなら、その子を食い尽そうとかまえていた。
12:5
女は男の子を産んだが、彼は鉄のつえをもってすべての国民を治めるべき者である。この子は、神のみもとに、その御座のところに、引き上げられた。
12:6
女は荒野へ逃げて行った。そこには、彼女が千二百六十日のあいだ養われるように、神の用意された場所があった。

さて、天では戦いが起った。ミカエルとその御使たちとが、龍と戦ったのである。龍もその使たちも応戦したが、

それゆえに、天とその中に住む者たちよ、大いに喜べ。しかし、地と海よ、おまえたちはわざわいである。悪魔が、自分の時が短いのを知り、激しい怒りをもって、おまえたちのところに下ってきたからである」。

龍は、自分が地上に投げ落されたと知ると、男子を産んだ女を追いかけた。

しかし、女は自分の場所である荒野に飛んで行くために、大きなわしの二つの翼を与えられた。そしてそこでへびからのがれて、一年、二年、また、半年の間、養われることになっていた。

へびは女の後に水を川のように、口から吐き出して、女をおし流そうとした。

しかし、地は女を助けた。すなわち、地はその口を開いて、龍が口から吐き出した川を飲みほした。
12:17
龍は、女に対して怒りを発し、女の残りの子ら、すなわち、神の戒めを守り、イエスのあかしを持っている者たちに対して、戦いをいどむために、出て行った。

14 But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down.
43 Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.
44 The next Sabbath almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.
45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.
46 Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 For so has the Lord commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles,
that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’” ☆
48 As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
49 The Lord’s word was spread abroad throughout all the region.
50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.
51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
52 The disciples were filled with joy with the Holy Spirit.

1 A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
2 She was with child. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth.
3 Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.
4 His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.
6 The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days.
7 There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war.
8 They didn’t prevail, neither was a place found for him any more in heaven.
9 The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
10 I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.
11 They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.
12 Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”
13 When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
14 Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.
16 The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth.
17 The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her offspring,* who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.

しかしイエスは、弟子たちがそのことでつぶやいているのを見破って、彼らに言われた、「このことがあなたがたのつまずきになる のか。

それでは、もし人の子が前にいた所に上るのを見たら、どうなるのか。
6:63
人を生かすものは霊であって、肉はなんの役にも立たない。わたしがあなたがたに話した言葉は霊であり、また命である。
6:64
しかし、あなたがたの中には信じない者がいる」。イエスは、初めから、だれが信じないか、また、だれが彼を裏切るかを知ってお られたのである。

ペテロはみんなの者を外に出し、ひざまずいて祈った。それから死体の方に向いて、「タビタよ、起きなさい」と言った。すると彼女は目をあけ、ペテロを見て起きなおった。

ペテロは彼女に手をかして立たせた。それから、聖徒たちや、やもめたちを呼び入れて、彼女が生きかえっているのを見せた。

聖所の外の庭はそのままにしておきなさい。それを測ってはならない。そこは異邦人に与えられた所だから。彼らは、四十二か月の間この聖なる都を踏みにじるであろう。

そしてわたしは、わたしのふたりの証人に、荒布を着て、千二百六十日のあいだ預言することを許そう」。

彼らは、全地の主のみまえに立っている二本のオリブの木、また、二つの燭台である。
11:5
もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、彼らの口から火が出て、その敵を滅ぼすであろう。もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、その者はこのように殺されねばならない。
11:6
預言をしている期間、彼らは、天を閉じて雨を降らせないようにする力を持っている。さらにまた、水を血に変え、何度でも思うままに、あらゆる災害で地を打つ力を持っている。

そして、彼らがそのあかしを終えると、底知れぬ所からのぼって来る獣が、彼らと戦って打ち勝ち、彼らを殺す。

彼らの死体はソドムや、エジプトにたとえられている大いなる都の大通りにさらされる。彼らの主も、この都で十字架につけられたのである。

いろいろな民族、部族、国語、国民に属する人々が、三日半の間、彼らの死体をながめるが、その死体を墓に納めることは許さない。

地に住む人々は、彼らのことで喜び楽しみ、互に贈り物をしあう。このふたりの預言者は、地に住む者たちを悩ましたからである。

三日半の後、いのちの息が、神から出て彼らの中にはいり、そして、彼らが立ち上がったので、それを見た人々は非常な恐怖に襲われた。

そして、天にある神の聖所が開けて、聖所の中に契約の箱が見えた。また、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴と、地震とが起り、大粒の雹が降った。

60 Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”
61 But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?
62 Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
64 But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.
65 He said, “For this cause have I said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”
66 At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69 We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Acts 9:31-42
31 So the assemblies throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
32 As Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.
33 There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed.
34 Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose.
35 All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated, means Dorcas.§§ This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did.
37 In those days, she became sick, and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.
38 As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men*** to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.
39 Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.
40 Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 He gave her his hand, and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.
42 And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.

1 A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise, and measure God’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it.
2 Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.
3 I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lamp stands, standing before the Lord of the earth.
5 If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.
6 These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.
7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.
8 Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
9 From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.
10 Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
11 After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.
12 I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them.
13 In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.
15 The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”
16 The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God,
17 saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was*; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.
18 The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
19 God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.

そこで、ユダヤ人らが互に論じて言った、「この人はどうして、自分の肉をわたしたちに与えて食べさせることができようか」。

イエスは彼らに言われた、「よくよく言っておく。人の子の肉を食べず、また、その血を飲まなければ、あなたがたの内に命はない。

わたしの肉を食べ、わたしの血を飲む者には、永遠の命があり、わたしはその人を終りの日によみがえらせるであろう。
6:55
わたしの肉はまことの食物、わたしの血はまことの飲み物である。
6:56
わたしの肉を食べ、わたしの血を飲む者はわたしにおり、わたしもまたその人におる。
6:57
生ける父がわたしをつかわされ、また、わたしが父によって生きているように、わたしを食べる者もわたしによって生きるであろう。
6:58
天から下ってきたパンは、先祖たちが食べたが死んでしまったようなものではない。このパンを食べる者は、いつまでも生きるであろう」。

彼は地に倒れたが、その時「サウロ、サウロ、なぜわたしを迫害するのか」と呼びかける声を聞いた。

そこで彼は「主よ、あなたは、どなたですか」と尋ねた。すると答があった、「わたしは、あなたが迫害しているイエスである。

さあ立って、町にはいって行きなさい。そうすれば、そこであなたのなすべき事が告げられるであろう」。

サウロの同行者たちは物も言えずに立っていて、声だけは聞えたが、だれも見えなかった。

サウロは地から起き上がって目を開いてみたが、何も見えなかった。そこで人々は、彼の手を引いてダマスコへ連れて行った。

彼は三日間、目が見えず、また食べることも飲むこともしなかった。

さて、ダマスコにアナニヤというひとりの弟子がいた。この人に主が幻の中に現れて、「アナニヤよ」とお呼びになった。彼は「主よ、わたしでございます」と答えた。

そこで主が彼に言われた、「立って、『真すぐ』という名の路地に行き、ユダの家でサウロというタルソ人を尋ねなさい。彼はいま祈っている。

わたしの名のために彼がどんなに苦しまなければならないかを、彼に知らせよう」。

53 Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.
54 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me.
58 This is the bread which came down out of heaven?not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”
59 He said these things in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

Acts 9:1-20
1 But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,
2 and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
3 As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.
4 He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5 He said, “Who are you, Lord?”
The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.*TR adds “It’s hard for you to kick against the goads.”
6 But†TR omits “But” rise up, and enter into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one.
8 Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.
10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!”
He said, “Behold, it’s me, Lord.”
11 The Lord said to him, “Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah‡or, Judas for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying,
12 and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.”
13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem.
14 Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”
15 But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.
16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
17 Ananias departed, and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me, that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
18 Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized.
19 He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus.
20 Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God.

3 He cried with a loud voice, as a lion roars. When he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices.
4 When the seven thunders sounded, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from the sky saying, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders said, and don’t write them.”
5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to the sky,
6 and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there will no longer be delay,
7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as he declared to his servants, the prophets.
8 The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me, said, “Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.”
9 I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book.
He said to me, “Take it, and eat it up. It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.”
10 I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth. When I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.
11 They told me, “You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”

わたしをつかわされた父が引きよせて下さらなければ、だれもわたしに来ることはできない。わたしは、その人々を終りの日によみがえらせるであろう。

預言者の書に、『彼らはみな神に教えられるであろう』と書いてある。父から聞いて学んだ者は、みなわたしに来るのである。
6:46
神から出た者のほかに、だれかが父を見たのではない。その者だけが父を見たのである。

よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。信じる者には永遠の命がある。

わたしは命のパンである。
6:49
あなたがたの先祖は荒野でマナを食べたが、死んでしまった。

しかし、天から下ってきたパンを食べる人は、決して死ぬことはない。

そこで、彼は立って出かけた。すると、ちょうど、エチオピヤ人の女王カンダケの高官で、女王の財宝全部を管理していた宦官であるエチオピヤ人が、礼拝のためエルサレムに上り、

その帰途についていたところであった。彼は自分の馬車に乗って、預言者イザヤの書を読んでいた。

御霊がピリポに「進み寄って、あの馬車に並んで行きなさい」と言った。

そこでピリポが駆けて行くと、預言者イザヤの書を読んでいるその人の声が聞えたので、「あなたは、読んでいることが、おわかりですか」と尋ねた。

彼は「だれかが、手びきをしてくれなければ、どうしてわかりましょう」と答えた。そして、馬車に乗って一緒にすわるようにと、ピリポにすすめた。

彼が読んでいた聖書の箇所は、これであった、「彼は、ほふり場に引かれて行く羊のように、また、黙々として、毛を刈る者の前に立つ小羊のように、口を開かない。

彼は、いやしめられて、そのさばきも行われなかった。だれが、彼の子孫のことを語ることができようか、彼の命が地上から取り去られているからには」。

宦官はピリポにむかって言った、「お尋ねしますが、ここで預言者はだれのことを言っているのですか。自分のことですか、それとも、だれかほかの人のことですか」。

そこでピリポは口を開き、この聖句から説き起して、イエスのことを宣べ伝えた。

道を進んで行くうちに、水のある所にきたので、宦官が言った、「ここに水があります。わたしがバプテスマを受けるのに、なんのさしつかえがありますか」。

これに対して、ピリポは、「あなたがまごころから信じるなら、受けてさしつかえはありません」と言った。すると、彼は「わたしは、イエス・キリストを神の子と信じます」と答えた。〕

そこで車をとめさせ、ピリポと宦官と、ふたりとも、水の中に降りて行き、ピリポが宦官にバプテスマを授けた。

ふたりが水から上がると、主の霊がピリポをさらって行ったので、宦官はもう彼を見ることができなかった。宦官はよろこびながら旅をつづけた。

その後、ピリポはアゾトに姿をあらわして、町々をめぐり歩き、いたるところで福音を宣べ伝えて、ついにカイザリヤに着いた。

ラッパを持っている第六の御使にこう呼びかけるのを、わたしは聞いた。「大ユウフラテ川のほとりにつながれている四人の御使を、解いてやれ」。

すると、その時、その日、その月、その年に備えておかれた四人の御使が、人間の三分の一を殺すために、解き放たれた。

騎兵隊の数は二億であった。わたしはその数を聞いた。
9:17
そして、まぼろしの中で、それらの馬とそれに乗っている者たちとを見ると、乗っている者たちは、火の色と青玉色と硫黄の色の胸当をつけていた。そして、それらの馬の頭はししの頭のようであって、その口から火と煙と硫黄とが、出ていた。
9:18
この三つの災害、すなわち、彼らの口から出て来る火と煙と硫黄とによって、人間の三分の一は殺されてしまった。
9:19
馬の力はその口と尾とにある。その尾はへびに似ていて、それに頭があり、その頭で人に害を加えるのである。

これらの災害で殺されずに残った人々は、自分の手で造ったものについて、悔い改めようとせず、また悪霊のたぐいや、金、銀、銅、石、木で造られ、見ることも聞くことも歩くこともできない偶像を礼拝して、やめようともしなかった。

また、彼らは、その犯した殺人や、まじないや、不品行や、盗みを悔い改めようとしなかった。

46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.

26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert.”
27 He arose and went; and behold, there was a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship.
28 He was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.
29 The Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.”
30 Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 He said, “How can I, unless someone explains it to me?” He begged Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this,
“He was led as a sheep to the slaughter.
As a lamb before his shearer is silent,
so he doesn’t open his mouth.
33 In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away.
Who will declare His generation?
For his life is taken from the earth.”☆Isaiah 53:7,8
34 The eunuch answered Philip, “Who is the prophet talking about? About himself, or about someone else?”
35 Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him Jesus.
36 As they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?”
37 *TR adds “Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ He answered, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’”
38 He commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

しかし、あなたがたに言ったが、あなたがたはわたしを見たのに信じようとはしない。

父がわたしに与えて下さる者は皆、わたしに来るであろう。そして、わたしに来る者を決して拒みはしない。

わたしが天から下ってきたのは、自分のこころのままを行うためではなく、わたしをつかわされたかたのみこころを行うためである。

その煙の中から、いなごが地上に出てきたが、地のさそりが持っているような力が、彼らに与えられた。

彼らは、地の草やすべての青草、またすべての木をそこなってはならないが、額に神の印がない人たちには害を加えてもよいと、言い渡された。

彼らは、人間を殺すことはしないで、五か月のあいだ苦しめることだけが許された。彼らの与える苦痛は、人がさそりにさされる時のような苦痛であった。

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

37 All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39 This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.
40 This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Acts 8:1b-8
1 Saul was consenting to his death. A great persecution arose against the assembly which was in Jerusalem in that day. They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles.
2 Devout men buried Stephen, and lamented greatly over him.
3 But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering into every house, and dragged both men and women off to prison.
4 Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word.
5 Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.
6 The multitudes listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard and saw the signs which he did.
7 For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
8 There was great joy in that city.

1 The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him.
2 He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a*TR adds “great” burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit.
3 Then out of the smoke came locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don’t have God’s seal on their foreheads.
5 They were given power not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a person.
6 In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
7 The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people’s faces.
8 They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.
9 They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war.
10 They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.
11 They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is “Abaddon”,†“Abaddon” is a Hebrew word that means “ruin”, “destruction”, or “the place of destruction” but in Greek, he has the name “Apollyon”. ‡“Apollyon” means “Destroyer”.
12 The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.

わたしたちの先祖は荒野でマナを食べました。それは『天よりのパンを彼らに与えて食べさせた』と書いてあるとおりです」。

そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「よくよく言っておく。天からのパンをあなたがたに与えたのは、モーセではない。天からのまことのパンをあなたがたに与えるのは、わたしの父なのである。

神のパンは、天から下ってきて、この世に命を与えるものである」。

第三の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、たいまつのように燃えている大きな星が、空から落ちてきた。そしてそれは、川の三分の一とその水源との上に落ちた。

この星の名は「苦よもぎ」と言い、水の三分の一が「苦よもぎ」のように苦くなった。水が苦くなったので、そのために多くの人が死んだ。

第四の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、太陽の三分の一と、月の三分の一と、星の三分の一とが打たれて、これらのものの三分の一は暗くなり、昼の三分の一は明るくなくなり、夜も同じようになった。

また、わたしが見ていると、一羽のわしが中空を飛び、大きな声でこう言うのを聞いた、「ああ、わざわいだ、わざわいだ、地に住む人々は、わざわいだ。なお三人の御使がラッパを吹き鳴らそうとしている」。

53 You received the law as it was ordained by angels, and didn’t keep it!”
54 Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 and said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”
57 But they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed at him with one accord.
58 They threw him out of the city, and stoned him. The witnesses placed their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
59 They stoned Stephen as he called out, saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”
60 He kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, “Lord, don’t hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea. One third of the sea became blood,
9 and one third of the living creatures which were in the sea died. One third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell on one third of the rivers, and on the springs of the waters.
11 The name of the star is called “Wormwood.” One third of the waters became wormwood. Many people died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
12 The fourth angel sounded, and one third of the sun was struck, and one third of the moon, and one third of the stars; so that one third of them would be darkened, and the day wouldn’t shine for one third of it, and the night in the same way.
13 I saw, and I heard an eagle,† flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the trumpets of the three angels, who are yet to sound!”

その翌日、海の向こう岸に立っていた群衆は、そこに小舟が一そうしかなく、またイエスは弟子たちと一緒に小舟にお乗りにならず、ただ弟子たちだけが船出したのを見た。
6:23
しかし、数そうの小舟がテベリヤからきて、主が感謝されたのちパンを人々に食べさせた場所に近づいた。
6:24
群衆は、イエスも弟子たちもそこにいないと知って、それらの小舟に乗り、イエスをたずねてカペナウムに行った。
6:25
そして、海の向こう岸でイエスに出会ったので言った、「先生、いつ、ここにおいでになったのですか」。
6:26
イエスは答えて言われた、「よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。あなたがたがわたしを尋ねてきているのは、しるしを見たためではなく、パンを食べて満腹したからである。

すると、いわゆる「リベルテン」の会堂に属する人々、クレネ人、アレキサンドリヤ人、キリキヤやアジヤからきた人々などが立って、ステパノと議論したが、

彼は知恵と御霊とで語っていたので、それに対抗できなかった。

そこで、彼らは人々をそそのかして、「わたしたちは、彼がモーセと神とを汚す言葉を吐くのを聞いた」と言わせた。

その上、民衆や長老たちや律法学者たちを煽動し、彼を襲って捕えさせ、議会にひっぱってこさせた。

それから、偽りの証人たちを立てて言わせた、「この人は、この聖所と律法とに逆らう言葉を吐いて、どうしても、やめようとはしません。
6:14
『あのナザレ人イエスは、この聖所を打ちこわし、モーセがわたしたちに伝えた慣例を変えてしまうだろう』などと、彼が言うのを、わたしたちは聞きました」。

議会で席についていた人たちは皆、ステパノに目を注いだが、彼の顔は、ちょうど天使の顔のように見えた。

この後、わたしは四人の御使が地の四すみに立っているのを見た。彼らは地の四方の風をひき止めて、地にも海にもすべての木にも、吹きつけないようにしていた。

また、もうひとりの御使が、生ける神の印を持って、日の出る方から上って来るのを見た。彼は地と海とをそこなう権威を授かっている四人の御使にむかって、大声で叫んで言った、

「わたしたちの神の僕らの額に、わたしたちが印をおしてしまうまでは、地と海と木とをそこなってはならない」。

わたしは印をおされた者の数を聞いたが、イスラエルの子らのすべての部族のうち、印をおされた者は十四万四千人であった。

ユダの部族のうち、一万二千人が印をおされ、ルベンの部族のうち、一万二千人、ガドの部族のうち、一万二千人、

アセルの部族のうち、一万二千人、ナフタリの部族のうち、一万二千人、マナセの部族のうち、一万二千人、

シメオンの部族のうち、一万二千人、レビの部族のうち、一万二千人、イサカルの部族のうち、一万二千人、

その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ、あらゆる国民、部族、民族、国語のうちから、数えきれないほどの大ぜいの群衆が、白い衣を身にまとい、しゅろの枝を手に持って、御座と小羊との前に立ち、

大声で叫んで言った、「救は、御座にいますわれらの神と小羊からきたる」。
7:11
御使たちはみな、御座と長老たちと四つの生き物とのまわりに立っていたが、御座の前にひれ伏し、神を拝して言った、
7:12
「アァメン、さんび、栄光、知恵、感謝、ほまれ、力、勢いが、世々限りなく、われらの神にあるように、アァメン」。
7:13
長老たちのひとりが、わたしにむかって言った、「この白い衣を身にまとっている人々は、だれか。また、どこからきたのか」。
7:14
わたしは彼に答えた、「わたしの主よ、それはあなたがご存じです」。すると、彼はわたしに言った、「彼らは大きな患難をとおってきた人たちであって、その衣を小羊の血で洗い、それを白くしたのである。
7:15
それだから彼らは、神の御座の前におり、昼も夜もその聖所で神に仕えているのである。御座にいますかたは、彼らの上に幕屋を張って共に住まわれるであろう。
7:16
彼らは、もはや飢えることがなく、かわくこともない。太陽も炎暑も、彼らを侵すことはない。
7:17
御座の正面にいます小羊は彼らの牧者となって、いのちの水の泉に導いて下さるであろう。また神は、彼らの目から涙をことごとくぬぐいとって下さるであろう」。
