☆今日の聖書物語

ヨハネによる福音 3:16-21

3:16
　神はそのひとり子を賜わったほどに、この世を愛して下さった。それは御子を信じる者がひとりも滅びないで、永遠の命を得るためである。

3:17
　神が御子を世につかわされたのは、世をさばくためではなく、御子によって、この世が救われるためである。

3:18
　彼を信じる者は、さばかれない。信じない者は、すでにさばかれている。神のひとり子の名を信じることをしないからである。

3:19
　そのさばきというのは、光がこの世にきたのに、人々はそのおこないが悪いために、光よりもやみの方を愛したことである。

3:20
　悪を行っている者はみな光を憎む。そして、そのおこないが明るみに出されるのを恐れて、光にこようとはしない。

3:21
　しかし、真理を行っている者は光に来る。その人のおこないの、神にあってなされたということが、明らかにされるためである。

使徒行伝 5:17-26

　そこで、大祭司とその仲間の者、すなわち、サドカイ派の人たちが、みな嫉妬の念に満たされて立ちあがり、

　使徒たちに手をかけて捕え、公共の留置場に入れた。

　ところが夜、主の使が獄の戸を開き、彼らを連れ出して言った、

　「さあ行きなさい。そして、宮の庭に立ち、この命の言葉を漏れなく、人々に語りなさい」。

　彼らはこれを聞き、夜明けごろ宮にはいって教えはじめた。
一方では、大祭司とその仲間の者とが、集まってきて、議会とイスラエル人の長老一同とを召集し、使徒たちを引き出してこさせるために、人を獄につかわした。

　そこで、下役どもが行って見ると、使徒たちが獄にいないので、引き返して報告した、

　「獄には、しっかりと錠がかけてあり、戸口には、番人が立っていました。ところが、あけて見たら、中にはだれもいませんでした」。

　そこで、十二使徒は弟子全体を呼び集めて言った、「わたしたちが神の言をさしおいて、食卓のことに携わるのはおもしろくない。

　そこで、兄弟たちよ、あなたがたの中から、御霊と知恵とに満ちた、評判のよい人たち七人を捜し出してほしい。その人たちにこの仕事をまかせ、

　わたしたちは、もっぱら祈と御言のご用に当ることにしよう」。

　この提案は会衆一同の賛成するところとなった。そして信仰と聖霊とに満ちた人ステパノ、それからピリポ、プロコロ、ニカノル、テモン、パルメナ、およびアンテオケの改宗者ニコラオを選び出して、

　使徒たちの前に立たせた。すると、使徒たちは祈って手を彼らの上においた。

　こうして神の言は、ますますひろまり、エルサレムにおける弟子の数が、非常にふえていき、祭司たちも多数、信仰を受けいれるようになった。

　さて、ステパノは恵みと力とに満ちて、民衆の中で、めざましい奇跡としるしとを行っていた。

　すると、いわゆる「リベルテン」の会堂に属する人々、クレネ人、アレキサンドリヤ人、キリキヤやアジヤからきた人々などが立って、ステパノと議論したが、

　彼は知恵と御霊とで語っていたので、それに対抗できなかった。

　そこで、彼らは人々をそそのかして、「わたしたちは、彼がモーセと神とを汚す言葉を吐くのを聞いた」と言わせた。

　その上、民衆や長老たちや律法学者たちを煽動し、彼を襲って捕えさせ、議会にひっぱってこさせた。

　それから、偽りの証人たちを立てて言わせた、「この人は、この聖所と律法とに逆らう言葉を吐いて、どうしても、やめようとはしません。

　『あのナザレ人イエスは、この聖所を打ちこわし、モーセがわたしたちに伝えた慣例を変えてしまうだろう』などと、彼が言うのを、わたしたちは聞きました」。

　議会で席についていた人たちは皆、ステパノに目を注いだが、彼の顔は、ちょうど天使の顔のように見えた。

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

19 This is the judgement, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

21 When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and those who were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

22 But the officers who came didn’t find them in the prison. They returned and reported,

23 “We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside!”

24 Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.

25 One came and told them, “Behold, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people.”

26 Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.

　ニコデモはイエスに答えて言った、「どうして、そんなことがあり得ましょうか」。

　イエスは彼に答えて言われた、「あなたはイスラエルの教師でありながら、これぐらいのことがわからないのか。

　よくよく言っておく。わたしたちは自分の知っていることを語り、また自分の見たことをあかししているのに、あなたがたはわたしたちのあかしを受けいれない。

　先ごろ、チゥダが起って、自分を何か偉い者のように言いふらしたため、彼に従った男の数が、四百人ほどもあったが、結局、彼は殺されてしまい、従った者もみな四散して、全く跡方もなくなっている。

　そののち、人口調査の時に、ガリラヤ人ユダが民衆を率いて反乱を起したが、この人も滅び、従った者もみな散らされてしまった。

　そこで、この際、諸君に申し上げる。あの人たちから手を引いて、そのなすままにしておきなさい。その企てや、しわざが、人間から出たものなら、自滅するだろう。

　しかし、もし神から出たものなら、あの人たちを滅ぼすことはできまい。まかり違えば、諸君は神を敵にまわすことになるかも知れない」。そこで彼らはその勧告にしたがい、

　この人が夜イエスのもとにきて言った、「先生、わたしたちはあなたが神からこられた教師であることを知っています。神がご一緒でないなら、あなたがなさっておられるようなしるしは、だれにもできはしません」。

　エスは答えて言われた、「よくよくあなたに言っておく。だれでも新しく生れなければ、神の国を見ることはできない」。

3:4
　ニコデモは言った、「人は年をとってから生れることが、どうしてできますか。もう一度、母の胎にはいって生れることができましょうか」。

　イエスは答えられた、「よくよくあなたに言っておく。だれでも、水と霊とから生れなければ、神の国にはいることはできない。

　肉から生れる者は肉であり、霊から生れる者は霊である。

『なぜ、異邦人らは、騒ぎ立ち、
もろもろの民は、むなしいことを図り、

支配者たちは、党を組んで、

　それから、若者たちが立って、その死体を包み、運び出して葬った。

　三時間ばかりたってから、たまたま彼の妻が、この出来事を知らずに、はいってきた。

　そこで、ペテロが彼女にむかって言った、「あの地所は、これこれの値段で売ったのか。そのとおりか」。彼女は「そうです、その値段です」と答えた。

　ペテロは言った、「あなたがたふたりが、心を合わせて主の御霊を試みるとは、何事であるか。見よ、あなたの夫を葬った人たちの足が、そこの門口にきている。あなたも運び出されるであろう」。

　すると女は、たちまち彼の足もとに倒れて、息が絶えた。そこに若者たちがはいってきて、女が死んでしまっているのを見、それを運び出してその夫のそばに葬った。

　教会全体ならびにこれを伝え聞いた人たちは、みな非常なおそれを感じた。

　そのころ、多くのしるしと奇跡とが、次々に使徒たちの手により人々の中で行われた。そして、一同は心を一つにして、ソロモンの廊に集まっていた。

　ほかの者たちは、だれひとり、その交わりに入ろうとはしなかったが、民衆は彼らを尊敬していた。

　しかし、主を信じて仲間に加わる者が、男女とも、ますます多くなってきた。

　ついには、病人を大通りに運び出し、寝台や寝床の上に置いて、ペテロが通るとき、彼の影なりと、そのうちのだれかにかかるようにしたほどであった。

　またエルサレム附近の町々からも、大ぜいの人が、病人や汚れた霊に苦しめられている人たちを引き連れて、集まってきたが、その全部の者が、ひとり残らずいやされた。

Gospel John 3:1-8

1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

2 The same came to him by night, and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”

3 Jesus answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, *The word translated “anew” here and in John 3:7 (anothen) also means “again” and “from above”. he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”

4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?”

5 Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’

8 The wind†The same Greek word (pneuma) means wind, breath, and spirit. blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

23 Being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

24 When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;

25 who by the mouth of your servant, David, said,
‘Why do the nations rage,
and the peoples plot a vain thing?

26 The kings of the earth take a stand,
and the rulers take council together,

27 “For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together

29 Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,

30 while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus.”

31 When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

ヨハネによる福音 20:19-31

20:19
　その日、すなわち、一週の初めの日の夕方、弟子たちはユダヤ人をおそれて、自分たちのおる所の戸をみなしめていると、イエスがはいってきて、彼らの中に立ち、「安かれ」と言われた。

20:20
　そう言って、手とわきとを、彼らにお見せになった。弟子たちは主を見て喜んだ。

20:21
　イエスはまた彼らに言われた、「安かれ。父がわたしをおつかわしになったように、わたしもまたあなたがたをつかわす」。

20:22
　そう言って、彼らに息を吹きかけて仰せになった、「聖霊を受けよ。

20:23
　あなたがたがゆるす罪は、だれの罪でもゆるされ、あなたがたがゆるさずにおく罪は、そのまま残るであろう」。

20:24
　十二弟子のひとりで、デドモと呼ばれているトマスは、イエスがこられたとき、彼らと一緒にいなかった。

20:25
　ほかの弟子たちが、彼に「わたしたちは主にお目にかかった」と言うと、トマスは彼らに言った、「わたしは、その手に釘あとを見、わたしの指をその釘あとにさし入れ、また、わたしの手をそのわきにさし入れてみなければ、決して信じない」。

　八日ののち、イエスの弟子たちはまた家の内におり、トマスも一緒にいた。戸はみな閉ざされていたが、イエスがはいってこられ、中に立って「安かれ」と言われた。

　それからトマスに言われた、「あなたの指をここにつけて、わたしの手を見なさい。手をのばしてわたしのわきにさし入れてみなさい。信じない者にならないで、信じる者になりなさい」。

　トマスはイエスに答えて言った、「わが主よ、わが神よ」。

20:29
　イエスは彼に言われた、「あなたはわたしを見たので信じたのか。見ないで信ずる者は、さいわいである」。

20:30
　イエスは、この書に書かれていないしるしを、ほかにも多く、弟子たちの前で行われた。

20:31
　しかし、これらのことを書いたのは、あなたがたがイエスは神の子キリストであると信じるためであり、また、そう信じて、イエスの名によって命を得るためである。

Gospel John 20:19-31

19 When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.

21 Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

22 When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit!

23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained.”

24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, wasn’t with them when Jesus came.

25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

26 After eight days again his disciples were inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the middle, and said, “Peace be to you.”

27 Then he said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing.”

28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me,‡TR adds “Thomas,” you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.”

30 Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book;

31 but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

　週の初めの日の朝早く、イエスはよみがえって、まずマグダラのマリヤに御自身をあらわされた。イエスは以前に、この女から七つの悪霊を追い出されたことがある。

16:10
　マリヤは、イエスと一緒にいた人々が泣き悲しんでいる所に行って、それを知らせた。

16:11
　彼らは、イエスが生きておられる事と、彼女に御自身をあらわされた事とを聞いたが、信じなかった。

16:12
　この後、そのうちのふたりが、いなかの方へ歩いていると、イエスはちがった姿で御自身をあらわされた。

16:13
　このふたりも、ほかの人々の所に行って話したが、彼らはその話を信じなかった。

16:14
　その後、イエスは十一弟子が食卓についているところに現れ、彼らの不信仰と、心のかたくななことをお責めになった。彼らは、よみがえられたイエスを見た人々の言うことを、信じなかったからである。

　人々はペテロとヨハネとの大胆な話しぶりを見、また同時に、ふたりが無学な、ただの人たちであることを知って、不思議に思った。そして彼らがイエスと共にいた者であることを認め、

　かつ、彼らにいやされた者がそのそばに立っているのを見ては、まったく返す言葉がなかった。

　そこで、ふたりに議会から退場するように命じてから、互に協議をつづけて

　言った、「あの人たちを、どうしたらよかろうか。彼らによって著しいしるしが行われたことは、エルサレムの住民全体に知れわたっているので、否定しようもない。

4:17
　ただ、これ以上このことが民衆の間にひろまらないように、今後はこの名によって、いっさいだれにも語ってはいけないと、おどしてやろうではないか」。

4:18
　そこで、ふたりを呼び入れて、イエスの名によって語ることも説くことも、いっさい相成らぬと言いわたした。

　このイエスこそは『あなたがた家造りらに捨てられたが、隅のかしら石となった石』なのである。

もろもろの民は、むなしいことを図り、

　地上の王たちは、立ちかまえ、
支配者たちは、党を組んで、
主とそのキリストとに逆らったのか』。

　まことに、ヘロデとポンテオ・ピラトとは、異邦人らやイスラエルの民と一緒になって、この都に集まり、あなたから油を注がれた聖なる僕イエスに逆らい、

　み手とみ旨とによって、あらかじめ定められていたことを、なし遂げたのです。

　主よ、いま、彼らの脅迫に目をとめ、僕たちに、思い切って大胆に御言葉を語らせて下さい。

　彼らが祈り終えると、その集まっていた場所が揺れ動き、一同は聖霊に満たされて、大胆に神の言を語り出した。

Gospel Mark 16:9-15

9 †NU includes the text of verses 9-20, but mentions in a footnote that a few manuscripts omitted it. The translators of the World English Bible regard Mark 16:9-20 as reliable based on an overwhelming majority of textual evidence, including not only the authoritative Greek Majority Text New Testament, but also the TR and many of the manuscripts cited in the NU text.Now when he had risen early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.

10 She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

11 When they heard that he was alive, and had been seen by her, they disbelieved.

12 After these things he was revealed in another form to two of them, as they walked, on their way into the country.

13 They went away and told it to the rest. They didn’t believe them, either.

14 Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn’t believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

15 He said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation.

Acts 4:13-21

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled. They recognised that they had been with Jesus.

14 Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred amongst themselves,

16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can’t deny it.

17 But so that this spreads no further amongst the people, let’s threaten them, that from now on they don’t speak to anyone in this name.”

18 They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,

20 for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”

21 When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.

ヨハネによる福音 21:1-14

21:1
　そののち、イエスはテベリヤの海べで、ご自身をまた弟子たちにあらわされた。そのあらわされた次第は、こうである。

21:2
　シモン・ペテロが、デドモと呼ばれているトマス、ガリラヤのカナのナタナエル、ゼベダイの子らや、ほかのふたりの弟子たちと一緒にいた時のことである。

21:3
　シモン・ペテロは彼らに「わたしは漁に行くのだ」と言うと、彼らは「わたしたちも一緒に行こう」と言った。彼らは出て行って舟に乗った。しかし、その夜はなんの獲物もなかった。

21:4
　夜が明けたころ、イエスが岸に立っておられた。しかし弟子たちはそれがイエスだとは知らなかった。

21:5
　イエスは彼らに言われた、「子たちよ、何か食べるものがあるか」。彼らは「ありません」と答えた。

21:6
　すると、イエスは彼らに言われた、「舟の右の方に網をおろして見なさい。そうすれば、何かとれるだろう」。彼らは網をおろすと、魚が多くとれたので、それを引き上げることができなかった。

　イエスの愛しておられた弟子が、ペテロに「あれは主だ」と言った。シモン・ペテロは主であると聞いて、裸になっていたため、上着をまとって海にとびこんだ。

　しかし、ほかの弟子たちは舟に乗ったまま、魚のはいっている網を引きながら帰って行った。陸からはあまり遠くない五十間ほどの所にいたからである。

　彼らが陸に上って見ると、炭火がおこしてあって、その上に魚がのせてあり、またそこにパンがあった。

　イエスは彼らに言われた、「今とった魚を少し持ってきなさい」。

21:11
　シモン・ペテロが行って、網を陸へ引き上げると、百五十三びきの大きな魚でいっぱいになっていた。そんなに多かったが、網はさけないでいた。

21:12
　イエスは彼らに言われた、「さあ、朝の食事をしなさい」。弟子たちは、主であることがわかっていたので、だれも「あなたはどなたですか」と進んで尋ねる者がなかった。

21:13
　イエスはそこにきて、パンをとり彼らに与え、また魚も同じようにされた。

21:14
　イエスが死人の中からよみがえったのち、弟子たちにあらわれたのは、これで既に三度目である。

　彼らに手をかけて捕え、はや日が暮れていたので、翌朝まで留置しておいた。

　しかし、彼らの話を聞いた多くの人たちは信じた。そして、その男の数が五千人ほどになった。

　あなたがたは、この聖なる正しいかたを拒んで、人殺しの男をゆるすように要求し、

Gospel John 21:1-14

1 After these things, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself this way.

2 Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.

3 Simon Peter said to them, “I’m going fishing.”
They told him, “We are also coming with you.” They immediately went out, and entered into the boat. That night, they caught nothing.

4 But when day had already come, Jesus stood on the beach, yet the disciples didn’t know that it was Jesus.

5 Jesus therefore said to them, “Children, have you anything to eat?”
They answered him, “No.”

6 He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”
They cast it therefore, and now they weren’t able to draw it in for the multitude of fish.

7 That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!”
So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his coat around him (for he was naked), and threw himself into the sea.

8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits*200 cubits is about 100 yards or about 91 metres away), dragging the net full of fish.

9 So when they got out on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.

10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”

11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of great fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and even though there were so many, the net wasn’t torn.

12 Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.”
None of the disciples dared enquire of him, “Who are you?” knowing that it was the Lord.

13 Then Jesus came and took the bread, gave it to them, and the fish likewise.

14 This is now the third time that Jesus was revealed to his disciples, after he had risen from the dead.

Acts 4:1-12

1 As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,

2 being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

3 They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.

4 But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

5 In the morning, their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.

6 Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.

7 When they had stood them in the middle of them, they enquired, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

9 if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,

10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.

11 He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’☆Psalm 118:22

12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given amongst men, by which we must be saved!”

　こう話していると、イエスが彼らの中にお立ちになった。〔そして「やすかれ」と言われた。〕

　彼らは恐れ驚いて、霊を見ているのだと思った。

24:38
　そこでイエスが言われた、「なぜおじ惑っているのか。どうして心に疑いを起すのか。

24:39
　わたしの手や足を見なさい。まさしくわたしなのだ。さわって見なさい。霊には肉や骨はないが、あなたがたが見るとおり、わたしにはあるのだ」。

　ペテロとヨハネとは彼をじっと見て、「わたしたちを見なさい」と言った。

　彼は何かもらえるのだろうと期待して、ふたりに注目していると、

　ペテロが言った、「金銀はわたしには無い。しかし、わたしにあるものをあげよう。ナザレ人イエス・キリストの名によって歩きなさい」。

　こう言って彼の右手を取って起してやると、足と、くるぶしとが、立ちどころに強くなって、

　踊りあがって立ち、歩き出した。そして、歩き回ったり踊ったりして神をさんびしながら、彼らと共に宮にはいって行った。

　民衆はみな、彼が歩き回り、また神をさんびしているのを見、

　これが宮の「美しの門」のそばにすわって、施しをこうていた者であると知り、彼の身に起ったことについて、驚き怪しんだ。

Gospel Luke 24:35-48

35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognised by them in the breaking of the bread.

36 As they said these things, Jesus himself stood amongst them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

37 But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”

40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41 While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

42 They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

43 He took them, and ate in front of them.

44 He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”

45 Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

46 He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 You are witnesses of these things.

Acts 3:11-26

11 As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?

13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.

16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

17 “Now, brothers,†The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.

18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.

19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,

20 and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before,

21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets.

　この日、ふたりの弟子が、エルサレムから七マイルばかり離れたエマオという村へ行きながら、

　このいっさいの出来事について互に語り合っていた。

　語り合い論じ合っていると、イエスご自身が近づいてきて、彼らと一緒に歩いて行かれた。

24:16
　しかし、彼らの目がさえぎられて、イエスを認めることができなかった。

24:17
　イエスは彼らに言われた、「歩きながら互に語り合っているその話は、なんのことなのか」。彼らは悲しそうな顔をして立ちどまった。

24:18
　そのひとりのクレオパという者が、答えて言った、「あなたはエルサレムに泊まっていながら、あなただけが、この都でこのごろ起ったことをご存じないのですか」。

24:19
　「それは、どんなことか」と言われると、彼らは言った、「ナザレのイエスのことです。あのかたは、神とすべての民衆との前で、わざにも言葉にも力ある預言者でしたが、

　祭司長たちや役人たちが、死刑に処するために引き渡し、十字架につけたのです。

使徒行伝 3:1-10

　さて、ペテロとヨハネとが、午後三時の祈のときに宮に上ろうとしていると、

　生れながら足のきかない男が、かかえられてきた。この男は、宮もうでに来る人々に施しをこうため、毎日、「美しの門」と呼ばれる宮の門のところに、置かれていた者である。

　彼は、ペテロとヨハネとが、宮にはいって行こうとしているのを見て、施しをこうた。

　ペテロとヨハネとは彼をじっと見て、「わたしたちを見なさい」と言った。

　彼は何かもらえるのだろうと期待して、ふたりに注目していると、

　ペテロが言った、「金銀はわたしには無い。しかし、わたしにあるものをあげよう。ナザレ人イエス・キリストの名によって歩きなさい」。

　こう言って彼の右手を取って起してやると、足と、くるぶしとが、立ちどころに強くなって、

　踊りあがって立ち、歩き出した。そして、歩き回ったり踊ったりして神をさんびしながら、彼らと共に宮にはいって行った。

Gospel Luke 24:13-35

13 Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia*60 stadia = about 11 kilometres or about 7 miles. from Jerusalem.

14 They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.

15 While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.

16 But their eyes were kept from recognising him.

17 He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”

18 One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”

19 He said to them, “What things?”
They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

21 But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

22 Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;

23 and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.

24 Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”

25 He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

26 Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”

27 Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

28 They came near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.

29 They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.”
He went in to stay with them.

30 When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.

31 Their eyes were opened, and they recognised him, and he vanished out of their sight.

32 They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”

33 They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognised by them in the breaking of the bread.

Acts 3:1-10

1 Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.*3:00 PM

2 A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.

3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.

4 Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”

5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.

6 But Peter said, “Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

7 He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.

8 Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.

9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.

10 They recognised him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

　しかし、マリヤは墓の外に立って泣いていた。そして泣きながら、身をかがめて墓の中をのぞくと、

　白い衣を着たふたりの御使が、イエスの死体のおかれていた場所に、ひとりは頭の方に、ひとりは足の方に、すわっているのを見た。

20:13
　すると、彼らはマリヤに、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか」と言った。マリヤは彼らに言った、「だれかが、わたしの主を取り去りました。そして、どこに置いたのか、わからないのです」。

20:14
　そう言って、うしろをふり向くと、そこにイエスが立っておられるのを見た。しかし、それがイエスであることに気がつかなかった。

20:15
　イエスは女に言われた、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか。だれを捜しているのか」。マリヤは、その人が園の番人だと思って言った、「もしあなたが、あのかたを移したのでしたら、どこへ置いたのか、どうぞ、おっしゃって下さい。わたしがそのかたを引き取ります」。

　イエスは彼女に「マリヤよ」と言われた。マリヤはふり返って、イエスにむかってヘブル語で「ラボニ」と言った。それは、先生という意味である。

20:17
　イエスは彼女に言われた、「わたしにさわってはいけない。わたしは、まだ父のみもとに上っていないのだから。ただ、わたしの兄弟たちの所に行って、『わたしは、わたしの父またあなたがたの父であって、わたしの神またあなたがたの神であられるかたのみもとへ上って行く』と、彼らに伝えなさい」。

20:18
　マグダラのマリヤは弟子たちのところに行って、自分が主に会ったこと、またイエスがこれこれのことを自分に仰せになったことを、報告した。

　ユダヤ人と改宗者、クレテ人とアラビヤ人もいるのだが、あの人々がわたしたちの国語で、神の大きな働きを述べるのを聞くとは、どうしたことか」。

　みんなの者は驚き惑って、互に言い合った、「これは、いったい、どういうわけなのだろう」。

　しかし、ほかの人たちはあざ笑って、「あの人たちは新しい酒で酔っているのだ」と言った。

　そこで、ペテロが十一人の者と共に立ちあがり、声をあげて人々に語りかけた。
「ユダヤの人たち、ならびにエルサレムに住むすべてのかたがた、どうか、この事を知っていただきたい。わたしの言うことに耳を傾けていただきたい。

　今は朝の九時であるから、この人たちは、あなたがたが思っているように、酒に酔っているのではない。

　そうではなく、これは預言者ヨエルが預言していたことに外ならないのである。すなわち、

　『神がこう仰せになる。
終りの時には、
わたしの霊をすべての人に注ごう。
そして、あなたがたのむすこ娘は預言をし、

老人たちは夢を見るであろう。

そして彼らも預言をするであろう。

　また、上では、天に奇跡を見せ、

11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb,

12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

13 They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”

14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?”
She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!”*Rabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for “great teacher.” which is to say, “Teacher!”†or, Master

17 Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.

　そこで、ペテロが十一人の者と共に立ちあがり、声をあげて人々に語りかけた。
「ユダヤの人たち、ならびにエルサレムに住むすべてのかたがた、どうか、この事を知っていただきたい。わたしの言うことに耳を傾けていただきたい。

　イスラエルの人たちよ、今わたしの語ることを聞きなさい。あなたがたがよく知っているとおり、ナザレ人イエスは、神が彼をとおして、あなたがたの中で行われた数々の力あるわざと奇跡としるしとにより、神からつかわされた者であることを、あなたがたに示されたかたであった。

　このイエスが渡されたのは神の定めた計画と予知とによるのであるが、あなたがたは彼を不法の人々の手で十字架につけて殺した。

と書いてあり、また
『その職は、ほかの者に取らせよ』

　わたしたちの中には、パルテヤ人、メジヤ人、エラム人もおれば、メソポタミヤ、ユダヤ、カパドキヤ、ポントとアジヤ、

　フルギヤとパンフリヤ、エジプトとクレネに近いリビヤ地方などに住む者もいるし、またローマ人で旅にきている者、

　ユダヤ人と改宗者、クレテ人とアラビヤ人もいるのだが、あの人々がわたしたちの国語で、神の大きな働きを述べるのを聞くとは、どうしたことか」。

　みんなの者は驚き惑って、互に言い合った、「これは、いったい、どういうわけなのだろう」。

2:13
　しかし、ほかの人たちはあざ笑って、「あの人たちは新しい酒で酔っているのだ」と言った。

2:14
　そこで、ペテロが十一人の者と共に立ちあがり、声をあげて人々に語りかけた。

　今は朝の九時であるから、この人たちは、あなたがたが思っているように、酒に酔っているのではない。

わたしの霊をすべての人に注ごう。
そして、あなたがたのむすこ娘は預言をし、
若者たちは幻を見、
老人たちは夢を見るであろう。

そして彼らも預言をするであろう。

　また、上では、天に奇跡を見せ、
下では、地にしるしを、
すなわち、血と火と立ちこめる煙とを、

Gospel Matthew 28:8-15

8 They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.

9 As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!”
They came and took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go tell my brothers *The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me.”

11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that had happened.

12 When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers,

13 saying, “Say that his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

14 If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry.”

15 So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad amongst the Jews, and continues until today.

　さて、一週の初めの日に、朝早くまだ暗いうちに、マグダラのマリヤが墓に行くと、墓から石がとりのけてあるのを見た。

　そこで走って、シモン・ペテロとイエスが愛しておられた、もうひとりの弟子のところへ行って、彼らに言った、「だれかが、主を墓から取り去りました。どこへ置いたのか、わかりません」。

20:3
　そこでペテロともうひとりの弟子は出かけて、墓へむかって行った。

20:4
　ふたりは一緒に走り出したが、そのもうひとりの弟子の方が、ペテロよりも早く走って先に墓に着き、

20:5
　そして身をかがめてみると、亜麻布がそこに置いてあるのを見たが、中へははいらなかった。

20:6
　シモン・ペテロも続いてきて、墓の中にはいった。彼は亜麻布がそこに置いてあるのを見たが、

20:7
　イエスの頭に巻いてあった布は亜麻布のそばにはなくて、はなれた別の場所にくるめてあった。

20:8
　すると、先に墓に着いたもうひとりの弟子もはいってきて、これを見て信じた。

　しかし、彼らは死人のうちからイエスがよみがえるべきことをしるした聖句を、まだ悟っていなかった。

　神はナザレのイエスに聖霊と力とを注がれました。このイエスは、神が共におられるので、よい働きをしながら、また悪魔に押えつけられている人々をことごとくいやしながら、巡回されました。

Gospel John 20:1-9

1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.

　さて、安息日が終って、週の初めの日の明け方に、マグダラのマリヤとほかのマリヤとが、墓を見にきた。

　すると、大きな地震が起った。それは主の使が天から下って、そこにきて石をわきへころがし、その上にすわったからである。

28:3
　その姿はいなずまのように輝き、その衣は雪のように真白であった。

28:4
　見張りをしていた人たちは、恐ろしさの余り震えあがって、死人のようになった。

28:5
　この御使は女たちにむかって言った、「恐れることはない。あなたがたが十字架におかかりになったイエスを捜していることは、わたしにわかっているが、

　もうここにはおられない。かねて言われたとおりに、よみがえられたのである。さあ、イエスが納められていた場所をごらんなさい。

　そして、急いで行って、弟子たちにこう伝えなさい、『イエスは死人の中からよみがえられた。見よ、あなたがたより先にガリラヤへ行かれる。そこでお会いできるであろう』。あなたがたに、これだけ言っておく」。

　あなたはつえを上げ、手を海の上にさし伸べてそれを分け、イスラエルの人々に海の中のかわいた地を行かせなさい。

14:17
　わたしがエジプトびとの心をかたくなにするから、彼らはそのあとを追ってはいるであろう。こうしてわたしはパロとそのすべての軍勢および戦車と騎兵とを打ち破って誉を得よう。

14:18
　わたしがパロとその戦車とその騎兵とを打ち破って誉を得るとき、エジプトびとはわたしが主であることを知るであろう」。

　このとき、イスラエルの部隊の前に行く神の使は移って彼らのうしろに行った。雲の柱も彼らの前から移って彼らのうしろに立ち、

Gospel Matthew 28:1-10

1 Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

2 Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat on it.

3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

4 For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men.

5 The angel answered the women, “Don’t be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.

6 He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.

7 Go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.”

8 They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.

9 As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!”
They came and took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go tell my brothers *The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me.”

14:15 The LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward.

16 Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go into the middle of the sea on dry ground.

17 Behold, I myself will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go in after them: and I will get myself honour over Pharaoh, and over all his armies, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.

18 The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten myself honour over Pharaoh, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.”

19 The angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them.

20 It came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud and the darkness, yet gave it light by night: and one didn’t come near the other all night.

21 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 The children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the middle of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 In the morning watch, the LORD looked out on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian army.

25 He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, “Let’s flee from the face of Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians!”

26 The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”

27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it. The LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.

28 The waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.

29 But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.

31 Israel saw the great work which the LORD did to the Egyptians, and the people feared the LORD; and they believed in the LORD, and in his servant Moses.

15:1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and said,
“I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously.
The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.

3 Or don’t you know that all we who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his death?

4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

　イエスはこれらのことを語り終えて、弟子たちと一緒にケデロンの谷の向こうへ行かれた。そこには園があって、イエスは弟子たちと一緒にその中にはいられた。

18:2
　イエスを裏切ったユダは、その所をよく知っていた。イエスと弟子たちとがたびたびそこで集まったことがあるからである。

18:3
　さてユダは、一隊の兵卒と祭司長やパリサイ人たちの送った下役どもを引き連れ、たいまつやあかりや武器を持って、そこへやってきた。

18:4
　しかしイエスは、自分の身に起ろうとすることをことごとく承知しておられ、進み出て彼らに言われた、「だれを捜しているのか」。

18:5
　彼らは「ナザレのイエスを」と答えた。イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしが、それである」。イエスを裏切ったユダも、彼らと一緒に立っていた。

18:6
　イエスが彼らに「わたしが、それである」と言われたとき、彼らはうしろに引きさがって地に倒れた。

18:7
　そこでまた彼らに、「だれを捜しているのか」とお尋ねになると、彼らは「ナザレのイエスを」と言った。

　イエスは答えられた、「わたしがそれであると、言ったではないか。わたしを捜しているのなら、この人たちを去らせてもらいたい」。

　それから一隊の兵卒やその千卒長やユダヤ人の下役どもが、イエスを捕え、縛りあげて、

　まずアンナスのところに引き連れて行った。彼はその年の大祭司カヤパのしゅうとであった。

　カヤパは前に、ひとりの人が民のために死ぬのはよいことだと、ユダヤ人に助言した者であった。

　しかし、ペテロは外で戸口に立っていた。すると大祭司の知り合いであるその弟子が、外に出て行って門番の女に話し、ペテロを内に入れてやった。

　すると、この門番の女がペテロに言った、「あなたも、あの人の弟子のひとりではありませんか」。ペテロは「いや、そうではない」と答えた。

　僕や下役どもは、寒い時であったので、炭火をおこし、そこに立ってあたっていた。ペテロもまた彼らに交じり、立ってあたっていた。

18:19
　大祭司はイエスに、弟子たちのことやイエスの教のことを尋ねた。

18:20
　イエスは答えられた、「わたしはこの世に対して公然と語ってきた。すべてのユダヤ人が集まる会堂や宮で、いつも教えていた。何事も隠れて語ったことはない。

18:21
　なぜ、わたしに尋ねるのか。わたしが彼らに語ったことは、それを聞いた人々に尋ねるがよい。わたしの言ったことは、彼らが知っているのだから」。

18:22
　イエスがこう言われると、そこに立っていた下役のひとりが、「大祭司にむかって、そのような答をするのか」と言って、平手でイエスを打った。

18:23
　イエスは答えられた、「もしわたしが何か悪いことを言ったのなら、その悪い理由を言いなさい。しかし、正しいことを言ったのなら、なぜわたしを打つのか」。

18:24
　それからアンナスは、イエスを縛ったまま大祭司カヤパのところへ送った。

18:25
　シモン・ペテロは、立って火にあたっていた。すると人々が彼に言った、「あなたも、あの人の弟子のひとりではないか」。彼はそれをうち消して、「いや、そうではない」と言った。

18:26
　大祭司の僕のひとりで、ペテロに耳を切りおとされた人の親族の者が言った、「あなたが園であの人と一緒にいるのを、わたしは見たではないか」。

18:27
　ペテロはまたそれを打ち消した。するとすぐに、鶏が鳴いた。

　それから人々は、イエスをカヤパのところから官邸につれて行った。時は夜明けであった。彼らは、けがれを受けないで過越の食事ができるように、官邸にはいらなかった。

　そこで、ピラトは彼らのところに出てきて言った、「あなたがたは、この人に対してどんな訴えを起すのか」。

18:30
　彼らはピラトに答えて言った、「もしこの人が悪事をはたらかなかったなら、あなたに引き渡すようなことはしなかったでしょう」。

　そこでピラトは彼らに言った、「あなたがたは彼を引き取って、自分たちの律法でさばくがよい」。ユダヤ人らは彼に言った、「わたしたちには、人を死刑にする権限がありません」。

　これは、ご自身がどんな死にかたをしようとしているかを示すために言われたイエスの言葉が、成就するためである。

　さて、ピラトはまた官邸にはいり、イエスを呼び出して言った、「あなたは、ユダヤ人の王であるか」。

　イエスは答えられた、「あなたがそう言うのは、自分の考えからか。それともほかの人々が、わたしのことをあなたにそう言ったのか」。

　ピラトは答えた、「わたしはユダヤ人なのか。あなたの同族や祭司長たちが、あなたをわたしに引き渡したのだ。あなたは、いったい、何をしたのか」。

　イエスは答えられた、「わたしの国はこの世のものではない。もしわたしの国がこの世のものであれば、わたしに従っている者たちは、わたしをユダヤ人に渡さないように戦ったであろう。しかし事実、わたしの国はこの世のものではない」。

18:37
　そこでピラトはイエスに言った、「それでは、あなたは王なのだな」。イエスは答えられた、「あなたの言うとおり、わたしは王である。わたしは真理についてあかしをするために生れ、また、そのためにこの世にきたのである。だれでも真理につく者は、わたしの声に耳を傾ける」。

18:38
　ピラトはイエスに言った、「真理とは何か」。こう言って、彼はまたユダヤ人の所に出て行き、彼らに言った、「わたしには、この人になんの罪も見いだせない。

18:39
　過越の時には、わたしがあなたがたのために、ひとりの人を許してやるのが、あなたがたのしきたりになっている。ついては、あなたがたは、このユダヤ人の王を許してもらいたいのか」。

18:40
　すると彼らは、また叫んで「その人ではなく、バラバを」と言った。このバラバは強盗であった。

　そこでピラトは、イエスを捕え、むちで打たせた。

　兵卒たちは、いばらで冠をあんで、イエスの頭にかぶらせ、紫の上着を着せ、

　それから、その前に進み出て、「ユダヤ人の王、ばんざい」と言った。そして平手でイエスを打ちつづけた。

　するとピラトは、また出て行ってユダヤ人たちに言った、「見よ、わたしはこの人をあなたがたの前に引き出すが、それはこの人になんの罪も見いだせないことを、あなたがたに知ってもらうためである」。

　イエスはいばらの冠をかぶり、紫の上着を着たままで外へ出られると、ピラトは彼らに言った、「見よ、この人だ」。

　祭司長たちや下役どもはイエスを見ると、叫んで「十字架につけよ、十字架につけよ」と言った。ピラトは彼らに言った、「あなたがたが、この人を引き取って十字架につけるがよい。わたしは、彼にはなんの罪も見いだせない」。

　ユダヤ人たちは彼に答えた、「わたしたちには律法があります。その律法によれば、彼は自分を神の子としたのだから、死罪に当る者です」。

　ピラトがこの言葉を聞いたとき、ますますおそれ、

　もう一度官邸にはいってイエスに言った、「あなたは、もともと、どこからきたのか」。しかし、イエスはなんの答もなさらなかった。

　そこでピラトは言った、「何も答えないのか。わたしには、あなたを許す権威があり、また十字架につける権威があることを、知らないのか」。

19:11
　イエスは答えられた、「あなたは、上から賜わるのでなければ、わたしに対してなんの権威もない。だから、わたしをあなたに引き渡した者の罪は、もっと大きい」。

　これを聞いて、ピラトはイエスを許そうと努めた。しかしユダヤ人たちが叫んで言った、「もしこの人を許したなら、あなたはカイザルの味方ではありません。自分を王とするものはすべて、カイザルにそむく者です」。

　ピラトはこれらの言葉を聞いて、イエスを外へ引き出して行き、敷石（ヘブル語ではガバタ）という場所で裁判の席についた。

　その日は過越の準備の日であって、時は昼の十二時ころであった。ピラトはユダヤ人らに言った、「見よ、これがあなたがたの王だ」。

　すると彼らは叫んだ、「殺せ、殺せ、彼を十字架につけよ」。ピラトは彼らに言った、「あなたがたの王を、わたしが十字架につけるのか」。祭司長たちは答えた、「わたしたちには、カイザル以外に王はありません」。

　そこでピラトは、十字架につけさせるために、イエスを彼らに引き渡した。
彼らはイエスを引き取った。

19:17
　イエスはみずから十字架を背負って、されこうべ（ヘブル語ではゴルゴダ）という場所に出て行かれた。

　彼らはそこで、イエスを十字架につけた。イエスをまん中にして、ほかのふたりの者を両側に、イエスと一緒に十字架につけた。

　ピラトは罪状書きを書いて、十字架の上にかけさせた。それには「ユダヤ人の王、ナザレのイエス」と書いてあった。

19:20
　イエスが十字架につけられた場所は都に近かったので、多くのユダヤ人がこの罪状書きを読んだ。それはヘブル、ローマ、ギリシヤの国語で書いてあった。

19:21
　ユダヤ人の祭司長たちがピラトに言った、「『ユダヤ人の王』と書かずに、『この人はユダヤ人の王と自称していた』と書いてほしい」。

19:22
　ピラトは答えた、「わたしが書いたことは、書いたままにしておけ」。

　さて、兵卒たちはイエスを十字架につけてから、その上着をとって四つに分け、おのおの、その一つを取った。また下着を手に取ってみたが、それには縫い目がなく、上の方から全部一つに織ったものであった。

　そこで彼らは互に言った、「それを裂かないで、だれのものになるか、くじを引こう」。これは、「彼らは互にわたしの上着を分け合い、わたしの衣をくじ引にした」という聖書が成就するためで、兵卒たちはそのようにしたのである。

　さて、イエスの十字架のそばには、イエスの母と、母の姉妹と、クロパの妻マリヤと、マグダラのマリヤとが、たたずんでいた。

　イエスは、その母と愛弟子とがそばに立っているのをごらんになって、母にいわれた、「婦人よ、ごらんなさい。これはあなたの子です」。

19:27
　それからこの弟子に言われた、「ごらんなさい。これはあなたの母です」。そのとき以来、この弟子はイエスの母を自分の家に引きとった。

　そののち、イエスは今や万事が終ったことを知って、「わたしは、かわく」と言われた。それは、聖書が全うされるためであった。

Gospel John 18:1-19:42

18:1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his disciples entered.

2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.

3 Judas then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

4 Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went out, and said to them, “Who are you looking for?”

5 They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
Jesus said to them, “I am he.”
Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.

6 When therefore he said to them, “I am he,” they went backward, and fell to the ground.

7 Again therefore he asked them, “Who are you looking for?”
They said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,”

9 that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none.”☆John 6:39

10 Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

11 Jesus therefore said to Peter, “Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?”

12 So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jews, seized Jesus and bound him,

13 and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.

14 Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.

15 Simon Peter followed Jesus, as did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest;

16 but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Peter.

17 Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter, “Are you also one of this man’s disciples?”
He said, “I am not.”

18 Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.

19 The high priest therefore asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his teaching.

20 Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.

21 Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, these know the things which I said.”

22 When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Jesus with his hand, saying, “Do you answer the high priest like that?”

23 Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?”

24 Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.

25 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, “You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?”
He denied it, and said, “I am not.”

26 One of the servants of the high priest, being a relative of him whose ear Peter had cut off, said, “Didn’t I see you in the garden with him?”

27 Peter therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.

28 They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

29 Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”

30 They answered him, “If this man weren’t an evildoer, we wouldn’t have delivered him up to you.”

31 Pilate therefore said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.”
Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

32 that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.

33 Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Jesus, and said to him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”

34 Jesus answered him, “Do you say this by yourself, or did others tell you about me?”

35 Pilate answered, “I’m not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?”

36 Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I wouldn’t be delivered to the Jews. But now my Kingdom is not from here.”

37 Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?”
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”
When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no basis for a charge against him.

39 But you have a custom, that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Therefore do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

40 Then they all shouted again, saying, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.

19:1 So Pilate then took Jesus, and flogged him.

2 The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown, and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.

3 They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.

4 Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

5 Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”

6 When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!”
Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”

7 The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

8 When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.

9 He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

10 Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you, and have power to crucify you?”

11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”

12 At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”

13 When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgement seat at a place called “The Pavement”, but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”

14 Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour.*“the sixth hour” would have been 6:00 AM according to the Roman timekeeping system, or noon for the Jewish timekeeping system in use, then. He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”

15 They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!”
Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?”
The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”

16 So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

17 He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha”,

18 where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.

19 Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

20 Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.

21 The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, I am King of the Jews.’”

22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

24 Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says,
“They parted my garments amongst them.
For my cloak they cast lots.”☆Psalm 22:18
Therefore the soldiers did these things.

25 But there were standing by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

26 Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”

27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

28 After this, Jesus, seeing†NU, TR read “knowing” instead of “seeing” that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”

29 Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

31 Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

32 Therefore the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him;

33 but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

34 However one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

35 He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

36 For these things happened, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”☆Exodus 12:46; Numbers 9:12; Psalm 34:20

37 Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”☆Zechariah 12:10

38 After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

39 Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.‡100 Roman pounds of 12 ounces each, or about 72 pounds, or 33 Kilograms.

40 So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.

42 Then because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand) they laid Jesus there.

　イエスは自分を裏切る者を知っておられた。それで、「みんながきれいなのではない」と言われたのである。

　こうして彼らの足を洗ってから、上着をつけ、ふたたび席にもどって、彼らに言われた、「わたしがあなたがたにしたことがわかるか。

　あなたがたはわたしを教師、また主と呼んでいる。そう言うのは正しい。わたしはそのとおりである。

　主はエジプトの国で、モーセとアロンに告げて言われた、

　「この月をあなたがたの初めの月とし、これを年の正月としなさい。

12:3
　あなたがたはイスラエルの全会衆に言いなさい、『この月の十日におのおの、その父の家ごとに小羊を取らなければならない。すなわち、一家族に小羊一頭を取らなければならない。

12:4
　もし家族が少なくて一頭の小羊を食べきれないときは、家のすぐ隣の人と共に、人数に従って一頭を取り、おのおの食べるところに応じて、小羊を見計らわなければならない。

12:5
　小羊は傷のないもので、一歳の雄でなければならない。羊またはやぎのうちから、これを取らなければならない。

12:6
　そしてこの月の十四日まで、これを守って置き、イスラエルの会衆はみな、夕暮にこれをほふり、

　その血を取り、小羊を食する家の入口の二つの柱と、かもいにそれを塗らなければならない。

Gospel John 13:1-15

1 Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

2 During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God, and was going to God,

4 arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel, and wrapped a towel around his waist.

5 Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

6 Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”

7 Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”

8 Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!”
Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.”

9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

10 Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”

11 For he knew him who would betray him, therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”

12 So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?

13 You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.

14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.

1 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

2 “This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household;

4 and if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbour next to his house shall take one according to the number of the souls; according to what everyone can eat you shall make your count for the lamb.

5 Your lamb shall be without defect, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.

7 They shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two door posts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.

8 They shall eat the meat in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.

11 This is how you shall eat it: with your belt on your waist, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’s Passover.

12 For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. Against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgements: I am the LORD.

13 The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be on you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.

14 This day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to the LORD: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.

　言った、「彼をあなたがたに引き渡せば、いくらくださいますか」。すると、彼らは銀貨三十枚を彼に支払った。

26:16
　その時から、ユダはイエスを引きわたそうと、機会をねらっていた。

26:17
　さて、除酵祭の第一日に、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、「過越の食事をなさるために、わたしたちはどこに用意をしたらよいでしょうか」。

26:18
　イエスは言われた、「市内にはいり、かねて話してある人の所に行って言いなさい、『先生が、わたしの時が近づいた、あなたの家で弟子たちと一緒に過越を守ろうと、言っておられます』」。

26:19
　弟子たちはイエスが命じられたとおりにして、過越の用意をした。

　夕方になって、イエスは十二弟子と一緒に食事の席につかれた。

　「もしあなたが、徒歩の人と競争して疲れるなら、
どうして騎馬の人と競うことができようか。
もし安全な地で、あなたが倒れるなら、
ヨルダンの密林では、どうするつもりか。

　あなたの兄弟たち、あなたの父の家のものさえ、
あなたを欺き、大声をあげて、あなたを追っている。
彼らが親しげにあなたに語ることがあっても、
彼らを信じてはならない」。

　「わたしはわが家を離れ、わが嗣業を捨て、
わが魂の愛する者を敵の手に渡した。

　わたしの嗣業は、わたしにとって
林の中のししのようになった。
これはわたしに向かってその声をあげる。

斑点のある猛禽のようではないか。

わたしの麗しい地を荒れた野にした。

　彼らはこれを荒れ地としてしまった。
その荒れ地がわたしに向かって嘆くのだ。
全地は荒れ地にされた。

　滅ぼす者どもが荒野のすべての、はげ山の上にきた。
主のつるぎが、地の、この果から、かの果までを滅ぼすのだ。

14 Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,

15 and said, “What are you willing to give me, that I should deliver him to you?” They weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.

16 From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

17 Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”

18 He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”

19 The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.

　イエスがこれらのことを言われた後、その心が騒ぎ、おごそかに言われた、「よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。あなたがたのうちのひとりが、わたしを裏切ろうとしている」。

13:22
　弟子たちはだれのことを言われたのか察しかねて、互に顔を見合わせた。

13:23
　弟子たちのひとりで、イエスの愛しておられた者が、み胸に近く席についていた。

13:24
　そこで、シモン・ペテロは彼に合図をして言った、「だれのことをおっしゃったのか、知らせてくれ」。

13:25
　その弟子はそのままイエスの胸によりかかって、「主よ、だれのことですか」と尋ねると、

13:26
　イエスは答えられた、「わたしが一きれの食物をひたして与える者が、それである」。そして、一きれの食物をひたしてとり上げ、シモンの子イスカリオテのユダにお与えになった。

　この一きれの食物を受けるやいなや、サタンがユダにはいった。そこでイエスは彼に言われた、「しようとしていることを、今すぐするがよい」。

　席を共にしていた者のうち、なぜユダにこう言われたのか、わかっていた者はひとりもなかった。

　ある人々は、ユダが金入れをあずかっていたので、イエスが彼に、「祭のために必要なものを買え」と言われたか、あるいは、貧しい者に何か施させようとされたのだと思っていた。

　シモン・ペテロがイエスに言った、「主よ、どこへおいでになるのですか」。イエスは答えられた、「あなたはわたしの行くところに、今はついて来ることはできない。しかし、あとになってから、ついて来ることになろう」。

　ペテロはイエスに言った、「主よ、なぜ、今あなたについて行くことができないのですか。あなたのためには、命も捨てます」。

13:38
　イエスは答えられた、「わたしのために命を捨てると言うのか。よくよくあなたに言っておく。鶏が鳴く前に、あなたはわたしを三度知らないと言うであろう」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ヨハネによる福音 13:21-33, 36-38

　わたしは思った、わたしはいたずらに骨折り、うつろに、空しく、力を使い果たした、と。（イザヤ４９）
　自分の仕事が軌道に乗り、すべてが順調に進んでいる時には、自分の生活に充実感を覚え、神様から祝福されていると感じることはたやすいことです。しかし、困難に直面し、自分の無力さを実感したり、自分の至らなさを痛感する時にも、現実をしっかり見据え、それを神様からの祝福ととらえることができるでしょうか。あるいは逃げ出したくなり、神様に愚痴を並べるだけでしょうか。
　最後の晩餐の席でイエス様は今までのご自分の宣教活動を静かに振り返る瞬間があったかもしれません。民衆の無理解、指導者層の敵意を経験し、強がりを言うけれども意志の弱い弟子達を見て、自分の今までの宣教は何だったのだろう、と思ったとしても不思議ではありません。わたしだったらすべてを投げ出してしまうでしょう。しかし福音書を読むと、それでも落ち着いて自らの使命を果たしていこうとされるイエス様の姿がそこにあります。
　私たちが困難に直面したとき、このイエス様の態度を自分のものにしたいと思います。

イザヤ書 49:1-6

49:1
　海沿いの国々よ、わたしに聞け。
遠いところのもろもろの民よ、耳を傾けよ。
主はわたしを生れ出た時から召し、
母の胎を出た時からわが名を語り告げられた。

49:2
　主はわが口を鋭利なつるぎとなし、
わたしをみ手の陰にかくし、
とぎすました矢となして、
箙にわたしを隠された。

49:3
　また、わたしに言われた、
「あなたはわがしもべ、
わが栄光をあらわすべきイスラエルである」と。

49:4
　しかし、わたしは言った、
「わたしはいたずらに働き、
益なく、むなしく力を費した。
しかもなお、まことにわが正しきは主と共にあり、
わが報いはわが神と共にある」と。

49:5
　ヤコブをおのれに帰らせ、
イスラエルをおのれのもとに集めるために、
わたしを腹の中からつくって
そのしもべとされた主は言われる。
（わたしは主の前に尊ばれ、
わが神はわが力となられた）

49:6
　主は言われる、
「あなたがわがしもべとなって、
ヤコブのもろもろの部族をおこし、
イスラエルのうちの残った者を帰らせることは、
いとも軽い事である。
わたしはあなたを、もろもろの国びとの光となして、
わが救を地の果にまでいたらせよう」と。

エレミヤ書 8:13-9:8

8:13
　主は言われる、わたしが集めようと思うとき、
ぶどうの木にぶどうはなく、
いちじくの木に、いちじくはなく、
葉さえ、しぼんでいる。
わたしが彼らに与えたものも、
彼らを離れて、うせ去った」。

8:14
　どうしてわれわれはなす事もなく座しているのか。
集まって、堅固な町にはいり、
そこでわれわれは滅びよう。
われわれが主に罪を犯したので、
われわれの神、主がわれわれを滅ぼそうとして、
毒の水を飲ませられるのだ。

8:15
　われわれは平安を望んだが、良い事はこなかった。
いやされる時を望んだが、かえって恐怖が来た。

8:16
　「彼らの馬のいななきはダンから聞えてくる。
彼らの強い馬の声によって全地は震う。
彼らは来て、この地と、ここにあるすべてのもの、
町と、そのうちに住む者とを食い滅ぼす。

8:17
　見よ、魔法をもってならすことのできない、
へびや、まむしをあなたがたのうちにつかわす。
それはあなたがたをかむ」と主は言われる。

8:18
　わが嘆きはいやしがたく、
わが心はうちに悩む。

8:19
　聞け、地の全面から、
わが民の娘の声があがるのを。
「主はシオンにおられないのか、
シオンの王はそのうちにおられないのか」。
「なぜ彼らはその彫像と、
異邦の偶像とをもって、わたしを怒らせたのか」。

8:20
　「刈入れの時は過ぎ、夏もはや終った、
しかしわれわれはまだ救われない」。

8:21
　わが民の娘の傷によって、わが心は痛む。
わたしは嘆き、うろたえる。

8:22
　ギレアデに乳香があるではないか。
その所に医者がいるではないか。
それにどうしてわが民の娘は
いやされることがないのか。

9:1
　ああ、わたしの頭が水となり、
わたしの目が涙の泉となればよいのに。
そうすれば、わたしは民の娘の殺された者のために
昼も夜も嘆くことができる。

9:2
　ああ、わたしが荒野に、
隊商の宿を得ることができればよいのに。
そうすれば、わたしは民を離れて
去って行くことができる。
彼らはみな姦淫する者、
不信のともがらだからである。

9:3
　彼らは弓をひくように、その舌を曲げる。
真実ではなく、偽りがこの地に強くなった。
彼らは悪より悪に進み、
またわたしを知らないと、主は言われる。

9:4
　あなたがたはおのおの隣り人に気をつけよ。
どの兄弟をも信じてはならない。
兄弟はみな、押しのける者であり、
隣り人はみな、ののしって歩く者だからである。

9:5
　人はみな、その隣り人を欺き、
真実を言う者はない。
彼らは自分の舌に偽りを言うことを教え、
悪を行い、疲れて悔い改めるいとまもなく、

9:6
　しえたげに、しえたげを積み重ね、
偽りに偽りを積み重ね、
わたしを知ることを拒んでいると、主は言われる。

9:7
　それゆえ万軍の主はこう言われる、
「見よ、わたしは彼らを溶かし、試みる。
このほか、わが民をどうすることができよう。

9:8
　彼らの舌は殺す矢のようだ、
それは偽りを言う。
その口ではおのおの隣り人におだやかに語るが、
その心では彼を待ち伏せる計りごとを立てる。
