マタイによる福音 16:13-19
16:13
イエスがピリポ・カイザリヤの地方に行かれたとき、弟子たちに尋ねて言われた、「人々は人の子をだれと言っているか」。
16:14
彼らは言った、「ある人々はバプテスマのヨハネだと言っています。しかし、ほかの人たちは、エリヤだと言い、また、エレミヤあるいは預言者のひとりだ、と言っている者もあります」。
16:15
そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「それでは、あなたがたはわたしをだれと言うか」。
16:16
シモン・ペテロが答えて言った、「あなたこそ、生ける神の子キリストです」。
16:17
すると、イエスは彼にむかって言われた、「バルヨナ・シモン、あなたはさいわいである。あなたにこの事をあらわしたのは、血肉ではなく、天にいますわたしの父である。
16:18
そこで、わたしもあなたに言う。あなたはペテロである。そして、わたしはこの岩の上にわたしの教会を建てよう。黄泉の力もそれに打ち勝つことはない。
16:19
わたしは、あなたに天国のかぎを授けよう。そして、あなたが地上でつなぐことは、天でもつながれ、あなたが地上で解くことは天でも解かれるであろう」。

使徒行伝 12:1-11
12:1
そのころ、ヘロデ王は教会のある者たちに圧迫の手をのばし、
12:2
ヨハネの兄弟ヤコブをつるぎで切り殺した。
12:3
そして、それがユダヤ人たちの意にかなったのを見て、さらにペテロをも捕えにかかった。それは除酵祭の時のことであった。
12:4
ヘロデはペテロを捕えて獄に投じ、四人一組の兵卒四組に引き渡して、見張りをさせておいた。過越の祭のあとで、彼を民衆の前に引き出すつもりであったのである。
12:5
こうして、ペテロは獄に入れられていた。教会では、彼のために熱心な祈が神にささげられた。
12:6
ヘロデが彼を引き出そうとしていたその夜、ペテロは二重の鎖につながれ、ふたりの兵卒の間に置かれて眠っていた。番兵たちは戸口で獄を見張っていた。
12:7
すると、突然、主の使がそばに立ち、光が獄内を照した。そして御使はペテロのわき腹をつついて起し、「早く起きあがりなさい」と言った。すると鎖が彼の両手から、はずれ落ちた。
12:8
御使が「帯をしめ、くつをはきなさい」と言ったので、彼はそのとおりにした。それから「上着を着て、ついてきなさい」と言われたので、
12:9
ペテロはついて出て行った。彼には御使のしわざが現実のこととは考えられず、ただ幻を見ているように思われた。
12:10
彼らは第一、第二の衛所を通りすぎて、町に抜ける鉄門のところに来ると、それがひとりでに開いたので、そこを出て一つの通路に進んだとたんに、御使は彼を離れ去った。
12:11
その時ペテロはわれにかえって言った、「今はじめて、ほんとうのことがわかった。主が御使をつかわして、ヘロデの手から、またユダヤ人たちの待ちもうけていたあらゆる災から、わたしを救い出して下さったのだ」。

テモテヘの第二の手紙 4:6-8, 17-18
4:6
わたしは、すでに自身を犠牲としてささげている。わたしが世を去るべき時はきた。
4:7
わたしは戦いをりっぱに戦いぬき、走るべき行程を走りつくし、信仰を守りとおした。
4:8
今や、義の冠がわたしを待っているばかりである。かの日には、公平な審判者である主が、それを授けて下さるであろう。わたしばかりではなく、主の出現を心から待ち望んでいたすべての人にも授けて下さるであろう。
4:17
しかし、わたしが御言を余すところなく宣べ伝えて、すべての異邦人に聞かせるように、主はわたしを助け、力づけて下さった。そして、わたしは、ししの口から救い出されたのである。
4:18
主はわたしを、すべての悪のわざから助け出し、天にある御国に救い入れて下さるであろう。栄光が永遠から永遠にわたって主にあるように、アァメン。

ところが、母の胎内にある時からわたしを聖別し、み恵みをもってわたしをお召しになったかたが、

異邦人の間に宣べ伝えさせるために、御子をわたしの内に啓示して下さった時、わたしは直ちに、血肉に相談もせず、

また先輩の使徒たちに会うためにエルサレムにも上らず、アラビヤに出て行った。それから再びダマスコに帰った。
1:18
その後三年たってから、わたしはケパをたずねてエルサレムに上り、彼のもとに十五日間、滞在した。

しかし、主の兄弟ヤコブ以外には、ほかのどの使徒にも会わなかった。
1:20
ここに書いていることは、神のみまえで言うが、決して偽りではない。
1:21
その後、わたしはシリヤとキリキヤとの地方に行った。
1:22
しかし、キリストにあるユダヤの諸教会には、顔を知られていなかった。
1:23
ただ彼らは、「かつて自分たちを迫害した者が、以前には撲滅しようとしていたその信仰を、今は宣べ伝えている」と聞き、
1:24
わたしのことで、神をほめたたえた。
2:1
その後十四年たってから、わたしはバルナバと一緒に、テトスをも連れて、再びエルサレムに上った。
2:2
そこに上ったのは、啓示によってである。そして、わたしが異邦人の間に宣べ伝えている福音を、人々に示し、「重だった人たち」には個人的に示した。それは、わたしが現に走っており、またすでに走ってきたことが、むだにならないためである。
2:3
しかし、わたしが連れていたテトスでさえ、ギリシヤ人であったのに、割礼をしいられなかった。
2:4
それは、忍び込んできたにせ兄弟らがいたので――彼らが忍び込んできたのは、キリスト・イエスにあって持っているわたしたちの自由をねらって、わたしたちを奴隷にするためであった。
2:5
わたしたちは、福音の真理があなたがたのもとに常にとどまっているように、瞬時も彼らの強要に屈服しなかった。
2:6
そして、かの「重だった人たち」からは――彼らがどんな人であったにしても、それは、わたしには全く問題ではない。神は人を分け隔てなさらないのだから――事実、かの「重だった人たち」は、わたしに何も加えることをしなかった。
2:7
それどころか、彼らは、ペテロが割礼の者への福音をゆだねられているように、わたしには無割礼の者への福音がゆだねられていることを認め、
2:8
（というのは、ペテロに働きかけて割礼の者への使徒の務につかせたかたは、わたしにも働きかけて、異邦人につかわして下さったからである）、
2:9
かつ、わたしに賜わった恵みを知って、柱として重んじられているヤコブとケパとヨハネとは、わたしとバルナバとに、交わりの手を差し伸べた。そこで、わたしたちは異邦人に行き、彼らは割礼の者に行くことになったのである。
2:10
ただ一つ、わたしたちが貧しい人々をかえりみるようにとのことであったが、わたしはもとより、この事のためにも大いに努めてきたのである。

Gospel Matthew 16:13-19
13 Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 They said, “Some say John the Baptiser, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
18 I also tell you that you are Peter,* and on this rock † I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades‡ will not prevail against it.
19 I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
*16:18: Peter’s name, Petros in Greek, is the word for a specific rock or stone.
†16:18: Greek, petra, a rock mass or bedrock.

Acts 12:1-11
1 Now about that time, King Herod stretched out his hands to oppress some of the assembly.
2 He killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.
3 When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This was during the days of unleavened bread.
4 When he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of four soldiers each to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover.
5 Peter therefore was kept in the prison, but constant prayer was made by the assembly to God for him.
6 The same night when Herod was about to bring him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains. Guards in front of the door kept the prison.
7 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side, and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off from his hands.
8 The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak, and follow me.”
9 And he went out and followed him. He didn’t know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he saw a vision.
10 When they were past the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went out, and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
11 When Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

2 Timothy 4:6-8, 17-18
6 For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.
7 I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.
8 From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
