ヨハネによる福音 16:20-23a
よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。あなたがたは泣き悲しむが、この世は喜ぶであろう。あなたがたは憂えているが、その憂いは喜びに変るであろう。
女が子を産む場合には、その時がきたというので、不安を感じる。しかし、子を産んでしまえば、もはやその苦しみをおぼえてはいない。ひとりの人がこの世に生れた、という喜びがあるためである。
このように、あなたがたにも今は不安がある。しかし、わたしは再びあなたがたと会うであろう。そして、あなたがたの心は喜びに満たされるであろう。その喜びをあなたがたから取り去る者はいない。
その日には、あなたがたがわたしに問うことは、何もないであろう。

☆今日の『み言葉』
ヨハネによる福音 16:20-23a
「キリストは苦しみを受けて、死者のうちから復活し、栄光に入るかた」。これはミサのアレルヤ唱に出てきます。聖書の中で主イエスの受難・死・復活が語られますが、今日の福音では、復活した主イエスとともにある喜びのことを特に強調しております。
かつて弟子たちは主イエスとともに生活し、多くの話を聞き、その教えに従おうとしました。そしていよいよ徹底的に従おうとしたのは、復活した主イエスとの出会いでした。これまで復活節の中で、このような聖書の場面をよく黙想してきたのではないでしょうか。そして今日のわたしたちも、復活された主イエスとの出会いを想いながら、祈りながら、毎日の生活をすごしています。
いつもともにいてくだる方は、わたしたちの内におられ、いつも静かに語りかけてくださいます。喜びをもって今日という一日をすごしていきましょう。

すると、ある夜、幻のうちに主がパウロに言われた、「恐れるな。語りつづけよ、黙っているな。
18:10
あなたには、わたしがついている。だれもあなたを襲って、危害を加えるようなことはない。この町には、わたしの民が大ぜいいる」。
18:11
パウロは一年六か月の間ここに腰をすえて、神の言を彼らの間に教えつづけた。
18:12
ところが、ガリオがアカヤの総督であった時、ユダヤ人たちは一緒になってパウロを襲い、彼を法廷にひっぱって行って訴えた、
18:13
「この人は、律法にそむいて神を拝むように、人々をそそのかしています」。
18:14
パウロが口を開こうとすると、ガリオはユダヤ人たちに言った、「ユダヤ人諸君、何か不法行為とか、悪質の犯罪とかのことなら、わたしは当然、諸君の訴えを取り上げもしようが、
18:15
これは諸君の言葉や名称や律法に関する問題なのだから、諸君みずから始末するがよかろう。わたしはそんな事の裁判人にはなりたくない」。
18:16
こう言って、彼らを法廷から追いはらった。
18:17
そこで、みんなの者は、会堂司ソステネを引き捕え、法廷の前で打ちたたいた。ガリオはそれに対して、そ知らぬ顔をしていた。
18:18
さてパウロは、なお幾日ものあいだ滞在した後、兄弟たちに別れを告げて、シリヤへ向け出帆した。プリスキラとアクラも同行した。パウロは、かねてから、ある誓願を立てていたので、ケンクレヤで頭をそった。

わたしたちは互に愛し合うべきである。これが、あなたがたの初めから聞いていたおとずれである。
3:12
カインのようになってはいけない。彼は悪しき者から出て、その兄弟を殺したのである。なぜ兄弟を殺したのか。彼のわざが悪く、その兄弟のわざは正しかったからである。
3:13
兄弟たちよ。世があなたがたを憎んでも、驚くには及ばない。
3:14
わたしたちは、兄弟を愛しているので、死からいのちへ移ってきたことを、知っている。愛さない者は、死のうちにとどまっている。
3:15
あなたがたが知っているとおり、すべて兄弟を憎む者は人殺しであり、人殺しはすべて、そのうちに永遠のいのちをとどめてはいない。
3:16
主は、わたしたちのためにいのちを捨てて下さった。それによって、わたしたちは愛ということを知った。それゆえに、わたしたちもまた、兄弟のためにいのちを捨てるべきである。
3:17
世の富を持っていながら、兄弟が困っているのを見て、あわれみの心を閉じる者には、どうして神の愛が、彼のうちにあろうか。

Gospel : John 16:20-23
20 Most certainly I tell you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
21 A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow, because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.
22 Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
23 “In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

Acts 18:9-18
9 The Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Don’t be afraid, but speak and don’t be silent;
10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”
11 He lived there a year and six months, teaching the word of God amongst them.
12 But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgement seat,
13 saying, “This man persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.”
14 But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If indeed it were a matter of wrong or of wicked crime, you Jews, it would be reasonable that I should bear with you;
15 but if they are questions about words and names and your own law, look to it yourselves. For I don’t want to be a judge of these matters.”
16 So he drove them from the judgement seat.
17 Then all the Greeks laid hold on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgement seat. Gallio didn’t care about any of these things.
18 Paul, having stayed after this many more days, took his leave of the brothers, * and sailed from there for Syria, together with Priscilla and Aquila. He shaved his head in Cenchreae, for he had a vow.
*18:18: The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”
