☆今日の聖書物語

ルカによる福音 24:35-48

　そこでふたりの者は、途中であったことや、パンをおさきになる様子でイエスだとわかったことなどを話した。

　こう話していると、イエスが彼らの中にお立ちになった。〔そして「やすかれ」と言われた。〕

　彼らは恐れ驚いて、霊を見ているのだと思った。

　そこでイエスが言われた、「なぜおじ惑っているのか。どうして心に疑いを起すのか。

　わたしの手や足を見なさい。まさしくわたしなのだ。さわって見なさい。霊には肉や骨はないが、あなたがたが見るとおり、わたしにはあるのだ」。〔

　こう言って、手と足とをお見せになった。〕

　彼らは喜びのあまり、まだ信じられないで不思議に思っていると、イエスが「ここに何か食物があるか」と言われた。

　彼らが焼いた魚の一きれをさしあげると、 24:43イエスはそれを取って、みんなの前で食べられた。

　それから彼らに対して言われた、「わたしが以前あなたがたと一緒にいた時分に話して聞かせた言葉は、こうであった。すなわち、モーセの律法と預言書と詩篇とに、わたしについて書いてあることは、必ずことごとく成就する」。

　そこでイエスは、聖書を悟らせるために彼らの心を開いて

　言われた、「こう、しるしてある。キリストは苦しみを受けて、三日目に死人の中からよみがえる。

　そして、その名によって罪のゆるしを得させる悔改めが、エルサレムからはじまって、もろもろの国民に宣べ伝えられる。

　あなたがたは、これらの事の証人である。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 24:35-48

　エマオに向かう二人の弟子は道で一人の旅人に出会う。二人は、彼から聖書の言葉を聞くとき心が燃え始め、パンを割いて渡されたとき、目が開けて、旅人がイエスだと分かった。二人は時を移さずエルサレムに引き返し、弟子たちの集まっているところに戻る。「先生は生きておられる」、これが二人の第一声だった。けれども弟子たちは半信半疑だった。そこへイエスが現れて「あなたたちに平安があるように」と言われる。喜びのあまりまだ信じきれない彼らに、イエスは焼いた魚を食べてみせられて、彼らを納得させられた。

　イエスは弟子たちの心を開いたうえで、「あなたたちは全世界に行って、私の復活の証人となりなさい」と仰せになった。これはイエスの弟子たちへの命令である。この言葉を受けて、弟子たちは世界に福音を告げに散っていったのである。彼らの宣教のお陰で、今日、私たちも信仰の恵みをいただいている。

　ところでイエスの命令は使徒にだけ向けられたのではない。そこにはクレオパともう一人の弟子もいた。聖地にエマオと呼ばれる教会があるが、そこの壁画に、この出現の物語が描かれている。よく見るともう一人の弟子は女性である。イエスを家に迎え入れたと書かれているから、この二人は夫婦であったかも知れない。それはともかくとしてイエスの宣教の命令は、司教・司祭だけでなく、すべての信徒に向けられている。これは信徒の役割についての貴重な資料である。

　彼がなおもペテロとヨハネとにつきまとっているとき、人々は皆ひどく驚いて、「ソロモンの廊」と呼ばれる柱廊にいた彼らのところに駆け集まってきた。

　ペテロはこれを見て、人々にむかって言った、「イスラエルの人たちよ、なぜこの事を不思議に思うのか。また、わたしたちが自分の力や信心で、あの人を歩かせたかのように、なぜわたしたちを見つめているのか。

　彼は何かもらえるのだろうと期待して、ふたりに注目していると、

　ペテロが言った、「金銀はわたしには無い。しかし、わたしにあるものをあげよう。ナザレ人イエス・キリストの名によって歩きなさい」。

　こう言って彼の右手を取って起してやると、足と、くるぶしとが、立ちどころに強くなって、

　踊りあがって立ち、歩き出した。そして、歩き回ったり踊ったりして神をさんびしながら、彼らと共に宮にはいって行った。

　民衆はみな、彼が歩き回り、また神をさんびしているのを見、

　これが宮の「美しの門」のそばにすわって、施しをこうていた者であると知り、彼の身に起ったことについて、驚き怪しんだ。

Gospel: Luke 24:35-48

35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognised by them in the breaking of the bread.

36 As they said these things, Jesus himself stood amongst them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

37 But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”

40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41 While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

42 They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

43 He took them, and ate in front of them.

44 He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”

45 Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

46 He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 You are witnesses of these things.

Acts 3:11-26

11 As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?

13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.

16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

17 “Now, brothers,† I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.

18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.

19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,

20 and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before,

21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets.

22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from amongst your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.

23 It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from amongst the people.’☆

24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days.

25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘In your offspring‡ will all the families of the earth be blessed.’☆

26 God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.”

　この日、ふたりの弟子が、エルサレムから七マイルばかり離れたエマオという村へ行きながら、

　このいっさいの出来事について互に語り合っていた。

　語り合い論じ合っていると、イエスご自身が近づいてきて、彼らと一緒に歩いて行かれた。

　しかし、彼らの目がさえぎられて、イエスを認めることができなかった。

　イエスは彼らに言われた、「歩きながら互に語り合っているその話は、なんのことなのか」。彼らは悲しそうな顔をして立ちどまった。

　そのひとりのクレオパという者が、答えて言った、「あなたはエルサレムに泊まっていながら、あなただけが、この都でこのごろ起ったことをご存じないのですか」。

　「それは、どんなことか」と言われると、彼らは言った、「ナザレのイエスのことです。あのかたは、神とすべての民衆との前で、わざにも言葉にも力ある預言者でしたが、

　祭司長たちや役人たちが、死刑に処するために引き渡し、十字架につけたのです。

　わたしたちは、イスラエルを救うのはこの人であろうと、望みをかけていました。しかもその上に、この事が起ってから、きょうが三日目なのです。

　ところが、わたしたちの仲間である数人の女が、わたしたちを驚かせました。というのは、彼らが朝早く墓に行きますと、

　イエスのからだが見当らないので、帰ってきましたが、そのとき御使が現れて、『イエスは生きておられる』と告げたと申すのです。

　それで、わたしたちの仲間が数人、墓に行って見ますと、果して女たちが言ったとおりで、イエスは見当りませんでした」。

　そこでイエスが言われた、「ああ、愚かで心のにぶいため、預言者たちが説いたすべての事を信じられない者たちよ。

　キリストは必ず、これらの苦難を受けて、その栄光に入るはずではなかったのか」。

　こう言って、モーセやすべての預言者からはじめて、聖書全体にわたり、ご自身についてしるしてある事どもを、説きあかされた。

　それから、彼らは行こうとしていた村に近づいたが、イエスがなお先へ進み行かれる様子であった。

　そこで、しいて引き止めて言った、「わたしたちと一緒にお泊まり下さい。もう夕暮になっており、日もはや傾いています」。イエスは、彼らと共に泊まるために、家にはいられた。

　一緒に食卓につかれたとき、パンを取り、祝福してさき、彼らに渡しておられるうちに、

　彼らの目が開けて、それがイエスであることがわかった。すると、み姿が見えなくなった。

　彼らは互に言った、「道々お話しになったとき、また聖書を説き明してくださったとき、お互の心が内に燃えたではないか」。

　そして、すぐに立ってエルサレムに帰って見ると、十一弟子とその仲間が集まっていて、

　「主は、ほんとうによみがえって、シモンに現れなさった」と言っていた。

　そこでふたりの者は、途中であったことや、パンをおさきになる様子でイエスだとわかったことなどを話した。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 24:13-35

　イエスが亡くなられて三日目の午後、二人の弟子がエルサレムから西へ12キロの所にあるエマオの村へ向う途上での出来事として有名な箇所です。

　マグダラのマリアにしても、エマオに向う弟子たちにしても共通しているのは、彼らは皆、悲嘆にくれ、失望のうちにあるときの目は遮られ、復活したイエスに気付かないということです。しかし、マリアはイエスから呼びかけられて、またエマオに向う弟子たちはイエスから聖書のみ言葉を聞いた後にパンを割かれた直後、それぞれ目が開かれていきます。それぞれ神の方から与えられる大きな力を私たち自身が実感したときに、イエスを視覚という感覚器官に頼らなくても、十分にイエスを「信じる」喜びに包まれていくという信仰の証しが、これら二つの物語の出来事が示そうとするメッセージではないでしょうか。

　そしてマリアもエマオへの弟子たちも、復活したイエスに出会った喜びを感じてすぐに、それを伝えずにはいられない状況へと変えられました（＝つまり、復活のイエスを宣べ伝えるという派遣の使命に与かったのです）。聖書のみ言葉を耳にするとき「私たちの心が燃えますように」・・・。そしてパンが割かれ、そのパン（＝聖体）を戴くとき、目が開かれて、いつも私と共にいるイエスに気付いていくことが出来ますように・・・。

Gospel: Luke 24:13-35

13 Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia* from Jerusalem.

14 They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.

15 While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.

16 But their eyes were kept from recognising him.

17 He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”

18 One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”

19 He said to them, “What things?”

They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

21 But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

22 Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;

23 and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.

24 Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”

25 He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

26 Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”

27 Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

28 They came near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.

29 They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.”

He went in to stay with them.

30 When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.

31 Their eyes were opened, and they recognised him, and he vanished out of their sight.

32 They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”

33 They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognised by them in the breaking of the bread.

Acts 3:1-10

1 Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.*

2 A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.

3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.

4 Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”

5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.

6 But Peter said, “Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

7 He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.

8 Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.

9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.

10 They recognised him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

☆今日の聖書物語

ヨハネによる福音 20:11-18

　しかし、マリヤは墓の外に立って泣いていた。そして泣きながら、身をかがめて墓の中をのぞくと、

　白い衣を着たふたりの御使が、イエスの死体のおかれていた場所に、ひとりは頭の方に、ひとりは足の方に、すわっているのを見た。

　すると、彼らはマリヤに、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか」と言った。マリヤは彼らに言った、「だれかが、わたしの主を取り去りました。そして、どこに置いたのか、わからないのです」。

　そう言って、うしろをふり向くと、そこにイエスが立っておられるのを見た。しかし、それがイエスであることに気がつかなかった。

　イエスは女に言われた、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか。だれを捜しているのか」。マリヤは、その人が園の番人だと思って言った、「もしあなたが、あのかたを移したのでしたら、どこへ置いたのか、どうぞ、おっしゃって下さい。わたしがそのかたを引き取ります」。

　イエスは彼女に「マリヤよ」と言われた。マリヤはふり返って、イエスにむかってヘブル語で「ラボニ」と言った。それは、先生という意味である。

　イエスは彼女に言われた、「わたしにさわってはいけない。わたしは、まだ父のみもとに上っていないのだから。ただ、わたしの兄弟たちの所に行って、『わたしは、わたしの父またあなたがたの父であって、わたしの神またあなたがたの神であられるかたのみもとへ上って行く』と、彼らに伝えなさい」。

　マグダラのマリヤは弟子たちのところに行って、自分が主に会ったこと、またイエスがこれこれのことを自分に仰せになったことを、報告した。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ヨハネによる福音 20:11-18

　マグダラのマリアは、復活されたイエス様と出会いますが、それがイエス様だとは気づくことが出来ませんでした。イエス様の御遺体に香料を塗ろうと、週の初めの日の明け方早く（ﾙｶ24:1）に墓場に来るほど、深くイエス様のことを愛していたにもかかわらず、イエス様の姿を見ても気付かなかったのです。まだ、復活の意味をよく理解しておらず、真に「復活」を信じることが出来ていないことによって、目が遮られていたからでしょう。

　復活された主は、今も生きておられます。私たちのうちにも生きておられます。その生きておられるイエス様の姿を私たちはしっかりと認識しているでしょうか。

　この復活節、復活に対する信仰に磨きをかけて、まだまだ私たちが気付かないでいるイエス様の姿をしっかりと見つけ、見ることが出来るようになりたいものです。そして私たちもマグダラのマリアのように、「私は主を見ました！」と出会う人々に証しできる者となれますように・・・。

　みんなの者は驚き惑って、互に言い合った、「これは、いったい、どういうわけなのだろう」。

　しかし、ほかの人たちはあざ笑って、「あの人たちは新しい酒で酔っているのだ」と言った。

　そこで、ペテロが十一人の者と共に立ちあがり、声をあげて人々に語りかけた。

「ユダヤの人たち、ならびにエルサレムに住むすべてのかたがた、どうか、この事を知っていただきたい。わたしの言うことに耳を傾けていただきたい。

　今は朝の九時であるから、この人たちは、あなたがたが思っているように、酒に酔っているのではない。

　そうではなく、これは預言者ヨエルが預言していたことに外ならないのである。すなわち、

　『神がこう仰せになる。
終りの時には、
わたしの霊をすべての人に注ごう。
そして、あなたがたのむすこ娘は預言をし、
若者たちは幻を見、
老人たちは夢を見るであろう。

　その時には、わたしの男女の僕たちにも
わたしの霊を注ごう。
そして彼らも預言をするであろう。

　また、上では、天に奇跡を見せ、

Gospel: John 20:11-18

11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb,

12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

13 They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”

She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”

14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?”

She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”

She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!”* which is to say, “Teacher!”†

17 Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.


*20:16: Rabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for “great teacher.”

40 With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”

☆今日の聖書物語

マタイによる福音 28:8-15

　そこで女たちは恐れながらも大喜びで、急いで墓を立ち去り、弟子たちに知らせるために走って行った。

　すると、イエスは彼らに出会って、「平安あれ」と言われたので、彼らは近寄りイエスのみ足をいだいて拝した。

　そのとき、イエスは彼らに言われた、「恐れることはない。行って兄弟たちに、ガリラヤに行け、そこでわたしに会えるであろう、と告げなさい」。

　女たちが行っている間に、番人のうちのある人々が都に帰って、いっさいの出来事を祭司長たちに話した。

　祭司長たちは長老たちと集まって協議をこらし、兵卒たちにたくさんの金を与えて言った、

　「『弟子たちが夜中にきて、われわれの寝ている間に彼を盗んだ』と言え。

　万一このことが総督の耳にはいっても、われわれが総督に説いて、あなたがたに迷惑が掛からないようにしよう」。

　そこで、彼らは金を受け取って、教えられたとおりにした。そしてこの話は、今日に至るまでユダヤ人の間にひろまっている。

☆今日の『み言葉』

マタイによる福音 28:8-15

　最後まで主の十字架のもとにたたずみ、そのありさまを見届けて埋葬にも立ち会った婦人たちが、最初に主の復活の喜びを知らされ、復活の主に出会うことができた。このことは当然といえば当然のことだった。

　彼女たちは復活のキリストに「行って、わたしの兄弟たちに・・・言いなさい」と命じられる。“宣べ伝える”。これは復活のキリストに出会った者の努めである。そして彼女たちは「恐れることはない」と主キリストに言われる。

　そう、私たちも復活の主と共にいる限り、何も「恐れることはない」。恐れることなく、私たちの主を宣言しよう。

Gospel: Matthew 28:8-15

8 They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.

9 As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!”

They came and took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go tell my brothers * that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me.”

11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that had happened.

12 When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers,

13 saying, “Say that his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

14 If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry.”

15 So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad amongst the Jews, and continues until today.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, “You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him amongst you, even as you yourselves know,

23 him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;

24 whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

‘I saw the Lord always before my face,

For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.

26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced.

Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;

27 because you will not leave my soul in Hades,†

neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.

28 You made known to me the ways of life.

You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’☆

29 “Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

31 he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was his soul left in Hades,‡ nor did his flesh see decay.

32 This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.

33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.

　さて、一週の初めの日に、朝早くまだ暗いうちに、マグダラのマリヤが墓に行くと、墓から石がとりのけてあるのを見た。

　そこで走って、シモン・ペテロとイエスが愛しておられた、もうひとりの弟子のところへ行って、彼らに言った、「だれかが、主を墓から取り去りました。どこへ置いたのか、わかりません」。

　そこでペテロともうひとりの弟子は出かけて、墓へむかって行った。

　ふたりは一緒に走り出したが、そのもうひとりの弟子の方が、ペテロよりも早く走って先に墓に着き、

　そして身をかがめてみると、亜麻布がそこに置いてあるのを見たが、中へははいらなかった。

　シモン・ペテロも続いてきて、墓の中にはいった。彼は亜麻布がそこに置いてあるのを見たが、

　イエスの頭に巻いてあった布は亜麻布のそばにはなくて、はなれた別の場所にくるめてあった。

　すると、先に墓に着いたもうひとりの弟子もはいってきて、これを見て信じた。

　しかし、彼らは死人のうちからイエスがよみがえるべきことをしるした聖句を、まだ悟っていなかった。

　神はナザレのイエスに聖霊と力とを注がれました。このイエスは、神が共におられるので、よい働きをしながら、また悪魔に押えつけられている人々をことごとくいやしながら、巡回されました。

　わたしたちは、イエスがこうしてユダヤ人の地やエルサレムでなさったすべてのことの証人であります。人々はこのイエスを木にかけて殺したのです。

1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.

2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!”

3 Therefore Peter and the other disciple went out, and they went towards the tomb.

4 They both ran together. The other disciple outran Peter, and came to the tomb first.

5 Stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths lying, yet he didn’t enter in.

6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and entered into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying,

7 and the cloth that had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.

8 So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed.

9 For as yet they didn’t know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

37 you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

　そのかたは、ここにはおられない。よみがえられたのだ。まだガリラヤにおられたとき、あなたがたにお話しになったことを思い出しなさい。

　すなわち、人の子は必ず罪人らの手に渡され、十字架につけられ、そして三日目によみがえる、と仰せられたではないか」。

　そこで女たちはその言葉を思い出し、

　墓から帰って、これらいっさいのことを、十一弟子や、その他みんなの人に報告した。

　この女たちというのは、マグダラのマリヤ、ヨハンナ、およびヤコブの母マリヤであった。彼女たちと一緒にいたほかの女たちも、このことを使徒たちに話した。

　ところが、使徒たちには、それが愚かな話のように思われて、それを信じなかった。

Gospel: Luke 24:1-12

1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

3 They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

4 While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.

5 Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth.

They said to them, “Why do you seek the living amongst the dead?

6 He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”

8 They remembered his words,

9 returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.

10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.

11 These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.

12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.

Genesis 1:1--2:2

1:1 In the beginning, God* created the heavens and the earth.

2 The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

3 God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

4 God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness.

5 God called the light “day”, and the darkness he called “night”. There was evening and there was morning, the first day.

6 God said, “Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

7 God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.

8 God called the expanse “sky”. There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

9 God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

10 God called the dry land “earth”, and the gathering together of the waters he called “seas”. God saw that it was good.

11 God said, “Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seeds, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with their seeds in it, on the earth”; and it was so.

12 The earth yielded grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with their seeds in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

13 There was evening and there was morning, a third day.

14 God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years;

15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of sky to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

16 God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

17 God set them in the expanse of sky to give light to the earth,

18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.

19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20 God said, “Let the waters abound with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of sky.”

21 God created the large sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good.

22 God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

23 There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

24 God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind”; and it was so. 25 God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.

26 God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

29 God said, “Behold,† I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.

30 To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;” and it was so.

31 God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

2:1 The heavens, the earth, and all their vast array were finished.

2 On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.


*1:1: The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “?????????” (Elohim).

†1:29: “Behold”, from “??????”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

Second Reading

Genesis 22:1-18

1 After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”

He said, “Here I am.”

2 He said, “Now take your son, your only son, whom you love, even Isaac, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”

3 Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.

4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.

5 Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go yonder. We will worship, and come back to you.”

6 Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together.

7 Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, “My father?”

He said, “Here I am, my son.”

He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”

8 Abraham said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together.

9 They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood.

10 Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.

11 the LORD’s angel called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”

He said, “Here I am.”

12 He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

13 Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

14 Abraham called the name of that place the LORD Will Provide.* As it is said to this day, “On the LORD’s mountain, it will be provided.”

15 the LORD’s angel called to Abraham a second time out of the sky,

16 and said, “I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son,

17 that I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring† greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring‡ will possess the gate of his enemies.

18 All the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring,§ because you have obeyed my voice.”

Exodus 14:15--15:1

14:15 The LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward.

16 Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go into the middle of the sea on dry ground.

17 Behold, I myself will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go in after them: and I will get myself honour over Pharaoh, and over all his armies, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.

18 The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten myself honour over Pharaoh, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.”

19 The angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them.

20 It came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud and the darkness, yet gave it light by night: and one didn’t come near the other all night.

21 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 The children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the middle of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 In the morning watch, the LORD looked out on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian army.

25 He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, “Let’s flee from the face of Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians!”

26 The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”

27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it. The LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.

28 The waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.

29 But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.

31 Israel saw the great work which the LORD did to the Egyptians, and the people feared the LORD; and they believed in the LORD, and in his servant Moses.

Isaiah 54:5-14

5 For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of Armies is his name.

The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer.

He will be called the God of the whole earth.

6 For the LORD has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit,

even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God.

7 “For a small moment have I forsaken you;

but with great mercies will I gather you.

8 In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment;

but with everlasting loving kindness I will have mercy on you,” says the LORD your Redeemer.

9 “For this is like the waters of Noah to me;

for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah will no more go over the earth,

so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.

10 For the mountains may depart,

and the hills be removed;

but my loving kindness will not depart from you,

and my covenant of peace will not be removed,”

says the LORD who has mercy on you.

11 “You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted,

behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colours,

and lay your foundations with sapphires.

12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies,

your gates of sparkling jewels,

and all your walls of precious stones.

13 All your children will be taught by the LORD;

and your children’s peace will be great.

14 In righteousness you will be established.

You will be far from oppression,

for you will not be afraid;

and far from terror,

for it shall not come near you.

Isaiah 55:1-11

1 “Hey! Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters!

Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat!

Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread,

and your labour for that which doesn’t satisfy?

Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good,

and let your soul delight itself in richness.

3 Turn your ear, and come to me.

Hear, and your soul will live:

and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples,

a leader and commander to the peoples.

5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you don’t know;

and a nation that didn’t know you shall run to you,

because of the LORD your God,

and for the Holy One of Israel;

for he has glorified you.”

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found.

Call on him while he is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake his way,

and the unrighteous man his thoughts.

Let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him;

and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

and your ways are not my ways,” says the LORD.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways,

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky,

and doesn’t return there, but waters the earth,

and makes it grow and bud,

and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;

11 so is my word that goes out of my mouth:

it will not return to me void,

but it will accomplish that which I please,

and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do.

23 I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned amongst the nations, which you have profaned amongst them; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD, says the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from amongst the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.

28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

ヨハネによる福音 18:1--19:42

　イエスはこれらのことを語り終えて、弟子たちと一緒にケデロンの谷の向こうへ行かれた。そこには園があって、イエスは弟子たちと一緒にその中にはいられた。

　イエスを裏切ったユダは、その所をよく知っていた。イエスと弟子たちとがたびたびそこで集まったことがあるからである。

　さてユダは、一隊の兵卒と祭司長やパリサイ人たちの送った下役どもを引き連れ、たいまつやあかりや武器を持って、そこへやってきた。

　しかしイエスは、自分の身に起ろうとすることをことごとく承知しておられ、進み出て彼らに言われた、「だれを捜しているのか」。

　イエスが彼らに「わたしが、それである」と言われたとき、彼らはうしろに引きさがって地に倒れた。

　そこでまた彼らに、「だれを捜しているのか」とお尋ねになると、彼らは「ナザレのイエスを」と言った。

　イエスは答えられた、「わたしがそれであると、言ったではないか。わたしを捜しているのなら、この人たちを去らせてもらいたい」。

　それは、「あなたが与えて下さった人たちの中のひとりも、わたしは失わなかった」とイエスの言われた言葉が、成就するためである。

　シモン・ペテロは剣を持っていたが、それを抜いて、大祭司の僕に切りかかり、その右の耳を切り落した。その僕の名はマルコスであった。

　すると、イエスはペテロに言われた、「剣をさやに納めなさい。父がわたしに下さった杯は、飲むべきではないか」。

　それから一隊の兵卒やその千卒長やユダヤ人の下役どもが、イエスを捕え、縛りあげて、

　まずアンナスのところに引き連れて行った。彼はその年の大祭司カヤパのしゅうとであった。

　カヤパは前に、ひとりの人が民のために死ぬのはよいことだと、ユダヤ人に助言した者であった。

　シモン・ペテロともうひとりの弟子とが、イエスについて行った。この弟子は大祭司の知り合いであったので、イエスと一緒に大祭司の中庭にはいった。

　しかし、ペテロは外で戸口に立っていた。すると大祭司の知り合いであるその弟子が、外に出て行って門番の女に話し、ペテロを内に入れてやった。

　すると、この門番の女がペテロに言った、「あなたも、あの人の弟子のひとりではありませんか」。ペテロは「いや、そうではない」と答えた。

　僕や下役どもは、寒い時であったので、炭火をおこし、そこに立ってあたっていた。ペテロもまた彼らに交じり、立ってあたっていた。

　大祭司はイエスに、弟子たちのことやイエスの教のことを尋ねた。

　イエスは答えられた、「わたしはこの世に対して公然と語ってきた。すべてのユダヤ人が集まる会堂や宮で、いつも教えていた。何事も隠れて語ったことはない。

　なぜ、わたしに尋ねるのか。わたしが彼らに語ったことは、それを聞いた人々に尋ねるがよい。わたしの言ったことは、彼らが知っているのだから」。

　イエスがこう言われると、そこに立っていた下役のひとりが、「大祭司にむかって、そのような答をするのか」と言って、平手でイエスを打った。

　イエスは答えられた、「もしわたしが何か悪いことを言ったのなら、その悪い理由を言いなさい。しかし、正しいことを言ったのなら、なぜわたしを打つのか」。

　それからアンナスは、イエスを縛ったまま大祭司カヤパのところへ送った。

　シモン・ペテロは、立って火にあたっていた。すると人々が彼に言った、「あなたも、あの人の弟子のひとりではないか」。彼はそれをうち消して、「いや、そうではない」と言った。

　大祭司の僕のひとりで、ペテロに耳を切りおとされた人の親族の者が言った、「あなたが園であの人と一緒にいるのを、わたしは見たではないか」。

　ペテロはまたそれを打ち消した。するとすぐに、鶏が鳴いた。

　それから人々は、イエスをカヤパのところから官邸につれて行った。時は夜明けであった。彼らは、けがれを受けないで過越の食事ができるように、官邸にはいらなかった。

　そこで、ピラトは彼らのところに出てきて言った、「あなたがたは、この人に対してどんな訴えを起すのか」。

　彼らはピラトに答えて言った、「もしこの人が悪事をはたらかなかったなら、あなたに引き渡すようなことはしなかったでしょう」。

　そこでピラトは彼らに言った、「あなたがたは彼を引き取って、自分たちの律法でさばくがよい」。ユダヤ人らは彼に言った、「わたしたちには、人を死刑にする権限がありません」。

　これは、ご自身がどんな死にかたをしようとしているかを示すために言われたイエスの言葉が、成就するためである。

　さて、ピラトはまた官邸にはいり、イエスを呼び出して言った、「あなたは、ユダヤ人の王であるか」。

　イエスは答えられた、「あなたがそう言うのは、自分の考えからか。それともほかの人々が、わたしのことをあなたにそう言ったのか」。

　ピラトは答えた、「わたしはユダヤ人なのか。あなたの同族や祭司長たちが、あなたをわたしに引き渡したのだ。あなたは、いったい、何をしたのか」。

　イエスは答えられた、「わたしの国はこの世のものではない。もしわたしの国がこの世のものであれば、わたしに従っている者たちは、わたしをユダヤ人に渡さないように戦ったであろう。しかし事実、わたしの国はこの世のものではない」。

　そこでピラトはイエスに言った、「それでは、あなたは王なのだな」。イエスは答えられた、「あなたの言うとおり、わたしは王である。わたしは真理についてあかしをするために生れ、また、そのためにこの世にきたのである。だれでも真理につく者は、わたしの声に耳を傾ける」。

　ピラトはイエスに言った、「真理とは何か」。こう言って、彼はまたユダヤ人の所に出て行き、彼らに言った、「わたしには、この人になんの罪も見いだせない。

　過越の時には、わたしがあなたがたのために、ひとりの人を許してやるのが、あなたがたのしきたりになっている。ついては、あなたがたは、このユダヤ人の王を許してもらいたいのか」。

　すると彼らは、また叫んで「その人ではなく、バラバを」と言った。このバラバは強盗であった。

　そこでピラトは、イエスを捕え、むちで打たせた。

　兵卒たちは、いばらで冠をあんで、イエスの頭にかぶらせ、紫の上着を着せ、

　それから、その前に進み出て、「ユダヤ人の王、ばんざい」と言った。そして平手でイエスを打ちつづけた。

　するとピラトは、また出て行ってユダヤ人たちに言った、「見よ、わたしはこの人をあなたがたの前に引き出すが、それはこの人になんの罪も見いだせないことを、あなたがたに知ってもらうためである」。

　イエスはいばらの冠をかぶり、紫の上着を着たままで外へ出られると、ピラトは彼らに言った、「見よ、この人だ」。

　祭司長たちや下役どもはイエスを見ると、叫んで「十字架につけよ、十字架につけよ」と言った。ピラトは彼らに言った、「あなたがたが、この人を引き取って十字架につけるがよい。わたしは、彼にはなんの罪も見いだせない」。

　ユダヤ人たちは彼に答えた、「わたしたちには律法があります。その律法によれば、彼は自分を神の子としたのだから、死罪に当る者です」。

　ピラトがこの言葉を聞いたとき、ますますおそれ、

　もう一度官邸にはいってイエスに言った、「あなたは、もともと、どこからきたのか」。しかし、イエスはなんの答もなさらなかった。

　そこでピラトは言った、「何も答えないのか。わたしには、あなたを許す権威があり、また十字架につける権威があることを、知らないのか」。

　イエスは答えられた、「あなたは、上から賜わるのでなければ、わたしに対してなんの権威もない。だから、わたしをあなたに引き渡した者の罪は、もっと大きい」。

　これを聞いて、ピラトはイエスを許そうと努めた。しかしユダヤ人たちが叫んで言った、「もしこの人を許したなら、あなたはカイザルの味方ではありません。自分を王とするものはすべて、カイザルにそむく者です」。

　ピラトはこれらの言葉を聞いて、イエスを外へ引き出して行き、敷石（ヘブル語ではガバタ）という場所で裁判の席についた。

　その日は過越の準備の日であって、時は昼の十二時ころであった。ピラトはユダヤ人らに言った、「見よ、これがあなたがたの王だ」。

　すると彼らは叫んだ、「殺せ、殺せ、彼を十字架につけよ」。ピラトは彼らに言った、「あなたがたの王を、わたしが十字架につけるのか」。祭司長たちは答えた、「わたしたちには、カイザル以外に王はありません」。

　そこでピラトは、十字架につけさせるために、イエスを彼らに引き渡した。

彼らはイエスを引き取った。

　イエスはみずから十字架を背負って、されこうべ（ヘブル語ではゴルゴダ）という場所に出て行かれた。

　彼らはそこで、イエスを十字架につけた。イエスをまん中にして、ほかのふたりの者を両側に、イエスと一緒に十字架につけた。

　ピラトは罪状書きを書いて、十字架の上にかけさせた。それには「ユダヤ人の王、ナザレのイエス」と書いてあった。

　イエスが十字架につけられた場所は都に近かったので、多くのユダヤ人がこの罪状書きを読んだ。それはヘブル、ローマ、ギリシヤの国語で書いてあった。

　ユダヤ人の祭司長たちがピラトに言った、「『ユダヤ人の王』と書かずに、『この人はユダヤ人の王と自称していた』と書いてほしい」。

　ピラトは答えた、「わたしが書いたことは、書いたままにしておけ」。

　さて、兵卒たちはイエスを十字架につけてから、その上着をとって四つに分け、おのおの、その一つを取った。また下着を手に取ってみたが、それには縫い目がなく、上の方から全部一つに織ったものであった。

　そこで彼らは互に言った、「それを裂かないで、だれのものになるか、くじを引こう」。これは、「彼らは互にわたしの上着を分け合い、わたしの衣をくじ引にした」という聖書が成就するためで、兵卒たちはそのようにしたのである。

　さて、イエスの十字架のそばには、イエスの母と、母の姉妹と、クロパの妻マリヤと、マグダラのマリヤとが、たたずんでいた。

　イエスは、その母と愛弟子とがそばに立っているのをごらんになって、母にいわれた、「婦人よ、ごらんなさい。これはあなたの子です」。

　それからこの弟子に言われた、「ごらんなさい。これはあなたの母です」。そのとき以来、この弟子はイエスの母を自分の家に引きとった。

　そののち、イエスは今や万事が終ったことを知って、「わたしは、かわく」と言われた。それは、聖書が全うされるためであった。

　そこに、酢いぶどう酒がいっぱい入れてある器がおいてあったので、人々は、このぶどう酒を含ませた海綿をヒソプの茎に結びつけて、イエスの口もとにさし出した。

　すると、イエスはそのぶどう酒を受けて、「すべてが終った」と言われ、首をたれて息をひきとられた。

　さてユダヤ人たちは、その日が準備の日であったので、安息日に死体を十字架の上に残しておくまいと、（特にその安息日は大事な日であったから）、ピラトに願って、足を折った上で、死体を取りおろすことにした。

　そこで兵卒らがきて、イエスと一緒に十字架につけられた初めの者と、もうひとりの者との足を折った。

　しかし、彼らがイエスのところにきた時、イエスはもう死んでおられたのを見て、その足を折ることはしなかった。

　しかし、ひとりの兵卒がやりでそのわきを突きさすと、すぐ血と水とが流れ出た。

　それを見た者があかしをした。そして、そのあかしは真実である。その人は、自分が真実を語っていることを知っている。それは、あなたがたも信ずるようになるためである。

　これらのことが起ったのは、「その骨はくだかれないであろう」との聖書の言葉が、成就するためである。

　また聖書のほかのところに、「彼らは自分が刺し通した者を見るであろう」とある。

　そののち、ユダヤ人をはばかって、ひそかにイエスの弟子となったアリマタヤのヨセフという人が、イエスの死体を取りおろしたいと、ピラトに願い出た。ピラトはそれを許したので、彼はイエスの死体を取りおろしに行った。

　また、前に、夜、イエスのみもとに行ったニコデモも、没薬と沈香とをまぜたものを百斤ほど持ってきた。

　彼らは、イエスの死体を取りおろし、ユダヤ人の埋葬の習慣にしたがって、香料を入れて亜麻布で巻いた。

　イエスが十字架にかけられた所には、一つの園があり、そこにはまだだれも葬られたことのない新しい墓があった。

　その日はユダヤ人の準備の日であったので、その墓が近くにあったため、イエスをそこに納めた。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ヨハネによる福音 18:1--19:42

　私たちは死ななければ、新しい生命を生きることはできない。「神の子が罪のために死んだ」のはそのことを表すものです。おんひとり子もまた例外ではなかったのです。しかし、決定的に違うことがひとつだけあります。それは御父の徹底した愛の故に、私たちの罪のために、罪を担って死んでくださったということです。他の誰でもない、この私のために死んでくださったということです。私がどんな人間であろうとも、どんな罪を犯した人間であろうとも、私のためにいのちをかけてくださった方がいる。

　私たちは自分の罪を振り返らないわけにはいきません。自分の小ささを見ないわけにはいきません。しかし、私は自分の罪を自分ひとりでは決して償うことはできません。弱さを自分の力だけでは決して克服することはできません。償えるとしたら、克服できるとしたら、愛だけだと思うのです。私のすべてを、何もかも引き受けてくださった愛だけでしょう。

　今日はそのことを黙想し、味わう日です。私を徹底的に愛しぬいてくださった、下さっている方がおひとりだけおられる。そして、私だけではなく、私たちすべてを愛しておられる方がいる。その愛において私たちはすべてつながっていることを思い起こしたいと思います。

　最後にキリスト者の詩人、八木重吉が残したひとつの詩を紹介したいと思います。

「十字架は悔いへのくさびである

　罪ふかくして悔いを全うし得ぬ者へのめぐみである

　何人（なにびと）でも仰ぎさえすれば救われるという約束である

　今日の福音書では受難の朗読が行われます。イエス・キリストが十字架上の死を遂げるまでのプロセスが順を追って、詳しく記されています。

　イエスを殺そうとするユダヤ人たちの叫び、その背後にある長老や律法学士、ファリサイ派の人々の陰謀、イエスを裏切り、銀貨三十枚の代わりにイエスを売った弟子のユダ、イエスに最後まで従うと言ったペトロの否認、「民のために一人の人が死んだほうが都合がいい」と言ったカイアファの思惑、自分の保身をはかろうとするピラト、様々な人間の思惑がそこに表れています。人間がいかに利己的な存在であるかがそこに表れています。

　これらの人々の様々な思惑がイエスの十字架上の死の出来事に係わっていきます。しかし、十字架の出来事の根底には神の考え、神の御旨が秘められています。人間のエゴがひきおこした出来事の深みに神の愛の表われがあります。神がいかに人間を愛されているか、人間をいとおしんでいるかが見えてきます。私たち一人一人、イエス・キリストの担った十字架の意味をしっかりと黙想したいと思います。　　　鈴木英史

十字架は愛の極み。

　たった一言で天地万物を創造された神は、同じようにたった一言で、人類全体の罪を赦し、救ってくださることもお出来になったでしょう。しかし、神の選ばれた道は、御子をこの世に遣わし、人間と全く同じようになられ、人類の罪の身代わりとなって、十字架の道を歩まれることでした。

　血に染まった十字架は、神の愛の極みです。神の憐れみの極みです。人類の罪がどんなにひどい神への反逆であったかを示すものです。十字架のイエスに感謝し、十字架の功徳を讃え、十字架による救いの勝利にあずかることが出来るように祈りましょう。　　　坂梨四郎

　イエスを裏切ったユダは、その所をよく知っていた。イエスと弟子たちとがたびたびそこで集まったことがあるからである。

　さてユダは、一隊の兵卒と祭司長やパリサイ人たちの送った下役どもを引き連れ、たいまつやあかりや武器を持って、そこへやってきた。

　イエスはみずから十字架を背負って、されこうべ（ヘブル語ではゴルゴダ）という場所に出て行かれた。

　彼らはそこで、イエスを十字架につけた。イエスをまん中にして、ほかのふたりの者を両側に、イエスと一緒に十字架につけた。

　ピラトは罪状書きを書いて、十字架の上にかけさせた。それには「ユダヤ人の王、ナザレのイエス」と書いてあった。

　イエスが十字架につけられた場所は都に近かったので、多くのユダヤ人がこの罪状書きを読んだ。それはヘブル、ローマ、ギリシヤの国語で書いてあった。

　ユダヤ人の祭司長たちがピラトに言った、「『ユダヤ人の王』と書かずに、『この人はユダヤ人の王と自称していた』と書いてほしい」。

19:22
　ピラトは答えた、「わたしが書いたことは、書いたままにしておけ」。

　さて、兵卒たちはイエスを十字架につけてから、その上着をとって四つに分け、おのおの、その一つを取った。また下着を手に取ってみたが、それには縫い目がなく、上の方から全部一つに織ったものであった。

19:24
　そこで彼らは互に言った、「それを裂かないで、だれのものになるか、くじを引こう」。これは、「彼らは互にわたしの上着を分け合い、わたしの衣をくじ引にした」という聖書が成就するためで、兵卒たちはそのようにしたのである。

　さて、イエスの十字架のそばには、イエスの母と、母の姉妹と、クロパの妻マリヤと、マグダラのマリヤとが、たたずんでいた。

　イエスは、その母と愛弟子とがそばに立っているのをごらんになって、母にいわれた、「婦人よ、ごらんなさい。これはあなたの子です」。

19:27
　それからこの弟子に言われた、「ごらんなさい。これはあなたの母です」。そのとき以来、この弟子はイエスの母を自分の家に引きとった。

　そののち、イエスは今や万事が終ったことを知って、「わたしは、かわく」と言われた。それは、聖書が全うされるためであった。

　そこに、酢いぶどう酒がいっぱい入れてある器がおいてあったので、人々は、このぶどう酒を含ませた海綿をヒソプの茎に結びつけて、イエスの口もとにさし出した。

　すると、イエスはそのぶどう酒を受けて、「すべてが終った」と言われ、首をたれて息をひきとられた。

19:31
　さてユダヤ人たちは、その日が準備の日であったので、安息日に死体を十字架の上に残しておくまいと、（特にその安息日は大事な日であったから）、ピラトに願って、足を折った上で、死体を取りおろすことにした。

19:32
　そこで兵卒らがきて、イエスと一緒に十字架につけられた初めの者と、もうひとりの者との足を折った。

　しかし、彼らがイエスのところにきた時、イエスはもう死んでおられたのを見て、その足を折ることはしなかった。

　しかし、ひとりの兵卒がやりでそのわきを突きさすと、すぐ血と水とが流れ出た。

　それを見た者があかしをした。そして、そのあかしは真実である。その人は、自分が真実を語っていることを知っている。それは、あなたがたも信ずるようになるためである。

　また聖書のほかのところに、「彼らは自分が刺し通した者を見るであろう」とある。

　また、前に、夜、イエスのみもとに行ったニコデモも、没薬と沈香とをまぜたものを百斤ほど持ってきた。

　彼らは、イエスの死体を取りおろし、ユダヤ人の埋葬の習慣にしたがって、香料を入れて亜麻布で巻いた。

　イエスが十字架にかけられた所には、一つの園があり、そこにはまだだれも葬られたことのない新しい墓があった。

　その日はユダヤ人の準備の日であったので、その墓が近くにあったため、イエスをそこに納めた。

Gospel: John 18:1--19:42

18:1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his disciples entered.

2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.

3 Judas then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

4 Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went out, and said to them, “Who are you looking for?”

5 They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

Jesus said to them, “I am he.”

Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.

6 When therefore he said to them, “I am he,” they went backward, and fell to the ground.

7 Again therefore he asked them, “Who are you looking for?”

They said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,”

9 that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none.”☆

10 Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

11 Jesus therefore said to Peter, “Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?”

12 So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jews, seized Jesus and bound him,

13 and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.

14 Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.

15 Simon Peter followed Jesus, as did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest;

16 but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Peter.

17 Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter, “Are you also one of this man’s disciples?”

He said, “I am not.”

18 Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.

19 The high priest therefore asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his teaching.

20 Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.

21 Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, these know the things which I said.”

22 When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Jesus with his hand, saying, “Do you answer the high priest like that?”

23 Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?”

24 Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.

25 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, “You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?”

He denied it, and said, “I am not.”

26 One of the servants of the high priest, being a relative of him whose ear Peter had cut off, said, “Didn’t I see you in the garden with him?”

27 Peter therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.

28 They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

29 Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”

30 They answered him, “If this man weren’t an evildoer, we wouldn’t have delivered him up to you.”

31 Pilate therefore said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.”

Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

32 that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.

33 Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Jesus, and said to him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”

34 Jesus answered him, “Do you say this by yourself, or did others tell you about me?”

35 Pilate answered, “I’m not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?”

36 Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I wouldn’t be delivered to the Jews. But now my Kingdom is not from here.”

37 Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”

When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no basis for a charge against him.

39 But you have a custom, that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Therefore do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

40 Then they all shouted again, saying, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.

19:1 So Pilate then took Jesus, and flogged him.

2 The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown, and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.

3 They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.

4 Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

5 Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”

6 When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!”

Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”

7 The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

8 When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.

9 He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

10 Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you, and have power to crucify you?”

11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”

12 At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”

13 When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgement seat at a place called “The Pavement”, but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”

14 Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour.* He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”

15 They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!”

Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?”

The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”

16 So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

17 He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha”,

18 where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.

19 Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

20 Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.

21 The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, I am King of the Jews.’”

22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

24 Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says,

“They parted my garments amongst them.

For my cloak they cast lots.”☆

Therefore the soldiers did these things.

25 But there were standing by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

26 Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”

27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

28 After this, Jesus, seeing† that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”

29 Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

31 Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

32 Therefore the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him;

33 but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

34 However one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

35 He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

36 For these things happened, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”☆

37 Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”☆

38 After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

39 Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.‡

40 So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.

42 Then because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand) they laid Jesus there.

7 He was oppressed,

yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth.

As a lamb that is led to the slaughter,

and as a sheep that before its shearers is silent,

so he didn’t open his mouth.

8 He was taken away by oppression and judgement;

and as for his generation,

who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living

and stricken for the disobedience of my people?

9 They made his grave with the wicked,

and with a rich man in his death;

although he had done no violence,

nor was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him.

He has caused him to suffer.

When you make his soul an offering for sin,

he will see his offspring.*

He will prolong his days,

and the LORD’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.

11 After the suffering of his soul,

he will see the light† and be satisfied.

My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself;

and he will bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I give him a portion with the great,

and he will divide the plunder with the strong;

because he poured out his soul to death,

and was counted with the transgressors;

yet he bore the sin of many,

and made intercession for the transgressors.

　夕食のとき、悪魔はすでにシモンの子イスカリオテのユダの心に、イエスを裏切ろうとする思いを入れていたが、

　イエスは、父がすべてのものを自分の手にお与えになったこと、また、自分は神から出てきて、神にかえろうとしていることを思い、

　夕食の席から立ち上がって、上着を脱ぎ、手ぬぐいをとって腰に巻き、

　それから水をたらいに入れて、弟子たちの足を洗い、腰に巻いた手ぬぐいでふき始められた。

　こうして、シモン・ペテロの番になった。すると彼はイエスに、「主よ、あなたがわたしの足をお洗いになるのですか」と言った。

　イエスは彼に答えて言われた、「わたしのしていることは今あなたにはわからないが、あとでわかるようになるだろう」。

　ペテロはイエスに言った、「わたしの足を決して洗わないで下さい」。イエスは彼に答えられた、「もしわたしがあなたの足を洗わないなら、あなたはわたしとなんの係わりもなくなる」。

　シモン・ペテロはイエスに言った、「主よ、では、足だけではなく、どうぞ、手も頭も」。

　イエスは彼に言われた、「すでにからだを洗った者は、足のほかは洗う必要がない。全身がきれいなのだから。あなたがたはきれいなのだ。しかし、みんながそうなのではない」。

　イエスは自分を裏切る者を知っておられた。それで、「みんながきれいなのではない」と言われたのである。

　こうして彼らの足を洗ってから、上着をつけ、ふたたび席にもどって、彼らに言われた、「わたしがあなたがたにしたことがわかるか。

　あなたがたはわたしを教師、また主と呼んでいる。そう言うのは正しい。わたしはそのとおりである。

　しかし、主であり、また教師であるわたしが、あなたがたの足を洗ったからには、あなたがたもまた、互に足を洗い合うべきである。

　わたしがあなたがたにしたとおりに、あなたがたもするように、わたしは手本を示したのだ。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ヨハネによる福音 13:1-15

　先日参加した中高生のキャンプのミサの中で洗足式を行った。司祭が生徒の足を洗うのではなく、全員がお互いの足を洗った。相手の足を洗うということは、相手を受け入れ、相手を許すということにつながる。この体験はキャンプに参加した一人一人の心に深く刻み込まれたことと思う。

　聖体の制定を特に記念する聖木曜日に、最後の晩餐の場面ではなく、イエスが弟子の足を洗うこの場面が朗読されるということは非常に意味深いことであると思われる。イエスは、この行為によってすべての人を受け入れ、許し、そしてすべての人に自らを与える神の愛の姿を示された。この愛は聖体の秘跡の形を通して今も私たちに与えられている。

　イエスに足を洗ってもらう自分を想像してみよう。自分は受け入れられている、許されている、そして愛されている。その体験こそが、私が相手を受け入れ、許し、愛する原動力になる。聖体の秘跡に力づけられ、主であり師であるイエスがそうされたように、今日私たちも相手の足を洗うことができますように。

Gospel: John 13:1-15

1 Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

2 During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God, and was going to God,

4 arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel, and wrapped a towel around his waist.

5 Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

6 Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”

7 Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”

8 Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!”

Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.”

9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

10 Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”

11 For he knew him who would betray him, therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”

12 So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?

13 You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.

14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.

1 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

2 “This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household;

4 and if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbour next to his house shall take one according to the number of the souls; according to what everyone can eat you shall make your count for the lamb.

5 Your lamb shall be without defect, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.

7 They shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two door posts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.

8 They shall eat the meat in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.

11 This is how you shall eat it: with your belt on your waist, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’s Passover.

12 For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. Against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgements: I am the LORD.

13 The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be on you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.

14 This day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to the LORD: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.

　時に、十二弟子のひとりイスカリオテのユダという者が、祭司長たちのところに行って

　言った、「彼をあなたがたに引き渡せば、いくらくださいますか」。すると、彼らは銀貨三十枚を彼に支払った。

　その時から、ユダはイエスを引きわたそうと、機会をねらっていた。

　さて、除酵祭の第一日に、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、「過越の食事をなさるために、わたしたちはどこに用意をしたらよいでしょうか」。

　イエスは言われた、「市内にはいり、かねて話してある人の所に行って言いなさい、『先生が、わたしの時が近づいた、あなたの家で弟子たちと一緒に過越を守ろうと、言っておられます』」。

　弟子たちはイエスが命じられたとおりにして、過越の用意をした。

　夕方になって、イエスは十二弟子と一緒に食事の席につかれた。

　そして、一同が食事をしているとき言われた、「特にあなたがたに言っておくが、あなたがたのうちのひとりが、わたしを裏切ろうとしている」。

　弟子たちは非常に心配して、つぎつぎに「主よ、まさか、わたしではないでしょう」と言い出した。

　イエスは答えて言われた、「わたしと一緒に同じ鉢に手を入れている者が、わたしを裏切ろうとしている。

　たしかに人の子は、自分について書いてあるとおりに去って行く。しかし、人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである。その人は生れなかった方が、彼のためによかったであろう」。

　イエスを裏切ったユダが答えて言った、「先生、まさか、わたしではないでしょう」。イエスは言われた、「いや、あなただ」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

マタイによる福音 26:14-25

　今日は第1朗読を見てみたいと思います。四旬節にはよくイザヤ書の第二部にあたる「第二イザヤ」が朗読されます。そのピークは聖金曜日の朗読です。今日の朗読はそれに先立つ箇所で、主の僕の苦難が語られています。

　時は紀元前6世紀、新バビロニアによってイスラエルの民は捕囚とされます。捕囚とはいえ、不自由ながらもそれなりの生活に慣れ、「まあ、人生こんなもんだろ」と半ば諦めながらも与えられた人生というか運命に身を委ねていました。その時に、ペルシャの王キュロスがすごい勢いで周りの国々を自国としていき、バビロニアにも不安がよぎり始めました。そして第二イザヤの「主の僕」が「キュロスこそ神が遣わした者で、我々をこの捕囚から解放してくれる！」というメッセージを送り始めます。みんな喜んでくれる！はずですが、実はそうではありませんでした。「何いまさら変なこと言ってんだよ」「もういいんだ、俺たちはそれなりに生きていくすべも得たし・・・もう辛いのは御免なんだよ」これが捕囚であるイスラエルの人々の本音でした。「主の僕」の孤独、そして孤立。迫害の中、彼は逆らわず、そして退かず、メッセージを送り続けました・・・続く

　というストーリーです。神からのメッセージと人間の現実との衝突。「神様、別にもういい」という人間側の本音。私たちの生活の中にも同じような心の動きはありませんか。

14 Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,

15 and said, “What are you willing to give me, that I should deliver him to you?” They weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.

16 From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

17 Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”

18 He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”

19 The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.

20 Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.

21 As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”

22 They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”

23 He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish, the same will betray me.

24 The Son of Man goes, even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

25 Judas, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?”

He said to him, “You said it.”

4 The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of those who are taught,

that I may know how to sustain with words him who is weary.

☆今日の聖書物語

ヨハネによる福音 13:21-33, 36-38

　イエスがこれらのことを言われた後、その心が騒ぎ、おごそかに言われた、「よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。あなたがたのうちのひとりが、わたしを裏切ろうとしている」。

　弟子たちはだれのことを言われたのか察しかねて、互に顔を見合わせた。

　弟子たちのひとりで、イエスの愛しておられた者が、み胸に近く席についていた。

　そこで、シモン・ペテロは彼に合図をして言った、「だれのことをおっしゃったのか、知らせてくれ」。

　その弟子はそのままイエスの胸によりかかって、「主よ、だれのことですか」と尋ねると、

　イエスは答えられた、「わたしが一きれの食物をひたして与える者が、それである」。そして、一きれの食物をひたしてとり上げ、シモンの子イスカリオテのユダにお与えになった。

　この一きれの食物を受けるやいなや、サタンがユダにはいった。そこでイエスは彼に言われた、「しようとしていることを、今すぐするがよい」。

　席を共にしていた者のうち、なぜユダにこう言われたのか、わかっていた者はひとりもなかった。

　ある人々は、ユダが金入れをあずかっていたので、イエスが彼に、「祭のために必要なものを買え」と言われたか、あるいは、貧しい者に何か施させようとされたのだと思っていた。

　ユダは一きれの食物を受けると、すぐに出て行った。時は夜であった。

　さて、彼が出て行くと、イエスは言われた、「今や人の子は栄光を受けた。神もまた彼によって栄光をお受けになった。

　彼によって栄光をお受けになったのなら、神ご自身も彼に栄光をお授けになるであろう。すぐにもお授けになるであろう。

　子たちよ、わたしはまだしばらく、あなたがたと一緒にいる。あなたがたはわたしを捜すだろうが、すでにユダヤ人たちに言ったとおり、今あなたがたにも言う、『あなたがたはわたしの行く所に来ることはできない』。

　シモン・ペテロがイエスに言った、「主よ、どこへおいでになるのですか」。イエスは答えられた、「あなたはわたしの行くところに、今はついて来ることはできない。しかし、あとになってから、ついて来ることになろう」。

　ペテロはイエスに言った、「主よ、なぜ、今あなたについて行くことができないのですか。あなたのためには、命も捨てます」。

　イエスは答えられた、「わたしのために命を捨てると言うのか。よくよくあなたに言っておく。鶏が鳴く前に、あなたはわたしを三度知らないと言うであろう」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ヨハネによる福音 13:21-33, 36-38

　わたしは思った、わたしはいたずらに骨折り、うつろに、空しく、力を使い果たした、と。（イザヤ４９）

　自分の仕事が軌道に乗り、すべてが順調に進んでいる時には、自分の生活に充実感を覚え、神様から祝福されていると感じることはたやすいことです。しかし、困難に直面し、自分の無力さを実感したり、自分の至らなさを痛感する時にも、現実をしっかり見据え、それを神様からの祝福ととらえることができるでしょうか。あるいは逃げ出したくなり、神様に愚痴を並べるだけでしょうか。

　最後の晩餐の席でイエス様は今までのご自分の宣教活動を静かに振り返る瞬間があったかもしれません。民衆の無理解、指導者層の敵意を経験し、強がりを言うけれども意志の弱い弟子達を見て、自分の今までの宣教は何だったのだろう、と思ったとしても不思議ではありません。わたしだったらすべてを投げ出してしまうでしょう。しかし福音書を読むと、それでも落ち着いて自らの使命を果たしていこうとされるイエス様の姿がそこにあります。

　私たちが困難に直面したとき、このイエス様の態度を自分のものにしたいと思います。

Gospel: John 13:21-33, 36-38

21 When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”

22 The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke. 23 One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was at the table, leaning against Jesus’ breast. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.”

25 He, leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ breast, asked him, “Lord, who is it?”

26 Jesus therefore answered, “It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him.

Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”

28 Now no man at the table knew why he said this to him. 29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor. 30 Therefore having received that morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.

31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. 32 If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately. 33 Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.

36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?”

Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”

37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

38 Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.

Isaiah 49:1-6

1 Listen, islands, to me.

Listen, you peoples, from afar:

the LORD has called me from the womb;

from the inside of my mother he has mentioned my name.

2 He has made my mouth like a sharp sword.

He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand.

He has kept me close in his quiver.

3 He said to me, “You are my servant;

Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”

ヨハネによる福音 12:1-11

　過越の祭の六日まえに、イエスはベタニヤに行かれた。そこは、イエスが死人の中からよみがえらせたラザロのいた所である。

　イエスのためにそこで夕食の用意がされ、マルタは給仕をしていた。イエスと一緒に食卓についていた者のうちに、ラザロも加わっていた。

　その時、マリヤは高価で純粋なナルドの香油一斤を持ってきて、イエスの足にぬり、自分の髪の毛でそれをふいた。すると、香油のかおりが家にいっぱいになった。

　弟子のひとりで、イエスを裏切ろうとしていたイスカリオテのユダが言った、

　「なぜこの香油を三百デナリに売って、貧しい人たちに、施さなかったのか」。

　彼がこう言ったのは、貧しい人たちに対する思いやりがあったからではなく、自分が盗人であり、財布を預かっていて、その中身をごまかしていたからであった。

　イエスは言われた、「この女のするままにさせておきなさい。わたしの葬りの日のために、それをとっておいたのだから。

　貧しい人たちはいつもあなたがたと共にいるが、わたしはいつも共にいるわけではない」。

　大ぜいのユダヤ人たちが、そこにイエスのおられるのを知って、押しよせてきた。それはイエスに会うためだけではなく、イエスが死人のなかから、よみがえらせたラザロを見るためでもあった。

　そこで祭司長たちは、ラザロも殺そうと相談した。

　それは、ラザロのことで、多くのユダヤ人が彼らを離れ去って、イエスを信じるに至ったからである。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ヨハネによる福音 12:1-11

　マリアは純粋で非常に高価なナルドの香油をイエスの足に塗りました。ユダがそれを300デナリオンで売って、貧しい人に施せるのにと言ったように、300デナリオンの価値があったことになります。300デナリオンとは、300日分の労働賃金ということですから約1年分の給料であり、彼女はそれを一度に使ったのです。自分がその場にいたらどう反応するでしょうか。「あー、もったいない」と思ってしまうのでしょうか。だとすれば、わたしたちもユダと同じように、物質的な損得勘定でしか物事を見ることができなくなっているのです。そのとき、イエスが受難に向かう前にどれほどの苦しみをかかえていたかを理解していないからです。マリアは、直感的にイエスの苦しみを感じ、惜しむことなく、最高のもてなしをしました。少しのためらいもなく、すべてをイエスに捧げたのです。わたしたちも、この四旬節を過ごしながら、自分の命を惜しみなく与えた方に、マリアのようにすべてを捧げることができますように。
