マタイによる福音 11:11-15
あなたがたによく言っておく。女の産んだ者の中で、バプテスマのヨハネより大きい人物は起らなかった。しかし、天国で最も小さい者も、彼よりは大きい。
バプテスマのヨハネの時から今に至るまで、天国は激しく襲われている。そして激しく襲う者たちがそれを奪い取っている。
すべての預言者と律法とが預言したのは、ヨハネの時までである。
そして、もしあなたがたが受けいれることを望めば、この人こそは、きたるべきエリヤなのである。
耳のある者は聞くがよい。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マタイによる福音 11:11-15
「洗礼者ヨハネより偉大な者は現れなかった。」
主の降誕を準備する待降節を過ごす中で意識せずにはいられないのが洗礼者ヨハネの存在です。彼はイエスの到来の先駆者として、誕生の前にも、そして公生活前にも現れる重要人物です。「主の道を備える者」であり、旧約と新約を結ぶ最後の預言者としての彼の存在の特異性は、イエスによって語られた今日の福音の言葉によって示されています。
「つなぐ者」…洗礼者ヨハネの生き方を表す言葉であると思います。旧約と新約をつなぐ、イエスと人々とをつなぐ、つまり神と人とをつなぐ者。私たちもヨハネの生き方に倣い、今日出会う人々と神とを「つなぐ者」となることができるよう祈りたいと思います。

新しい打穀機とする。

わが魂は夜あなたを慕い、
わがうちなる霊は、せつにあなたを求める。
あなたのさばきが地に行われるとき、
世に住む者は正義を学ぶからである。

悪しき者は恵まれても、なお正義を学ばず、
正しい地にあっても不義を行い、
主の威光を仰ぐことをしない。

主よ、あなたのみ手が高くあがるけれども、
彼らはそれを顧みない。
どうか、あなたの、おのが民を救われる熱心を
彼らに見させて、大いに恥じさせ、
火をもってあなたの敵を焼き滅ぼしてください。
26:12
主よ、あなたはわれわれのために
平和を設けられる。
あなたはわれわれのために
われわれのすべてのわざをなし遂げられた。
26:13
われわれの神、主よ、
あなた以外のもろもろの主がわれわれを治めた。
しかし、われわれはただ、
あなたの名のみをあがめる。
26:14
死んだ者はまた生きない。
亡霊は生き返らない。
それで、あなたは彼らを罰して滅ぼし、
彼らの思い出をことごとく消し去られた。

その痛みによって叫ぶように、

われわれは、はらみ、苦しんだ。
しかしわれわれの産んだものは風にすぎなかった。
われわれは救を地に施すこともせず、
また世に住む者を滅ぼすこともしなかった。

あなたの死者は生き、彼らのなきがらは起きる。
ちりに伏す者よ、さめて喜びうたえ。
あなたの露は光の露であって、
それを亡霊の国の上に降らされるからである。

Gospel: Matthew 11:11-15
11 Most certainly I tell you, amongst those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptiser; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
12 From the days of John the Baptiser until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.*
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
*11:12: or, plunder it.

Isaiah 41:13-20
13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand,
saying to you, ‘Don’t be afraid.
I will help you.’
14 Don’t be afraid, you worm Jacob,
and you men of Israel.
I will help you,” says the LORD,
“and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15 Behold, I have made you into a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth.
You will thresh the mountains,
and beat them small,
and will make the hills like chaff.
16 You will winnow them,
and the wind will carry them away,
and the whirlwind will scatter them.
You will rejoice in the LORD.
You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 The poor and needy seek water, and there is none.
Their tongue fails for thirst.
I, the LORD, will answer them.
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers on the bare heights,
and springs in the middle of the valleys.
I will make the wilderness a pool of water,
and the dry land springs of water.
19 I will put cedar, acacia, myrtle, and oil trees in the wilderness.
I will set cypress trees, pine, and box trees together in the desert;
20 that they may see, know, consider, and understand together,
that the LORD’s hand has done this,
and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
