☆今日の聖書物語 *
ルカによる福音 2:22-40
それから、モーセの律法による彼らのきよめの期間が過ぎたとき、両親は幼な子を連れてエルサレムへ上った。
それは主の律法に「母の胎を初めて開く男の子はみな、主に聖別された者と、となえられねばならない」と書いてあるとおり、幼な子を主にささげるためであり、
また同じ主の律法に、「山ばと一つがい、または、家ばとのひな二羽」と定めてあるのに従って、犠牲をささげるためであった。
その時、エルサレムにシメオンという名の人がいた。この人は正しい信仰深い人で、イスラエルの慰められるのを待ち望んでいた。また聖霊が彼に宿っていた。
そして主のつかわす救主に会うまでは死ぬことはないと、聖霊の示しを受けていた。
この人が御霊に感じて宮にはいった。すると律法に定めてあることを行うため、両親もその子イエスを連れてはいってきたので、
シメオンは幼な子を腕に抱き、神をほめたたえて言った、
「主よ、今こそ、あなたはみ言葉のとおりに
この僕を安らかに去らせてくださいます、
わたしの目が今あなたの救を見たのですから。
この救はあなたが万民のまえにお備えになったもので、
異邦人を照す啓示の光、
み民イスラエルの栄光であります」。
父と母とは幼な子についてこのように語られたことを、不思議に思った。
するとシメオンは彼らを祝し、そして母マリヤに言った、「ごらんなさい、この幼な子は、イスラエルの多くの人を倒れさせたり立ちあがらせたりするために、また反対を受けるしるしとして、定められています。――
そして、あなた自身もつるぎで胸を刺し貫かれるでしょう。――
それは多くの人の心にある思いが、現れるようになるためです」。
また、アセル族のパヌエルの娘で、アンナという女預言者がいた。彼女は非常に年をとっていた。むすめ時代にとついで、七年間だけ夫と共に住み、
その後やもめぐらしをし、八十四歳になっていた。そして宮を離れずに夜も昼も断食と祈とをもって神に仕えていた。
この老女も、ちょうどそのとき近寄ってきて、神に感謝をささげ、そしてこの幼な子のことを、エルサレムの救を待ち望んでいるすべての人々に語りきかせた。
両親は主の律法どおりすべての事をすませたので、ガリラヤへむかい、自分の町ナザレに帰った。
幼な子は、ますます成長して強くなり、知恵に満ち、そして神の恵みがその上にあった。

これらの事の後、主の言葉が幻のうちにアブラムに臨んだ、
「アブラムよ恐れてはならない、
わたしはあなたの盾である。
あなたの受ける報いは、
はなはだ大きいであろう」。
15:2
アブラムは言った、「主なる神よ、わたしには子がなく、わたしの家を継ぐ者はダマスコのエリエゼルであるのに、あなたはわたしに何をくださろうとするのですか」。
15:3
アブラムはまた言った、「あなたはわたしに子を賜わらないので、わたしの家に生れたしもべが、あとつぎとなるでしょう」。
15:4
この時、主の言葉が彼に臨んだ、「この者はあなたのあとつぎとなるべきではありません。あなたの身から出る者があとつぎとなるべきです」。
15:5
そして主は彼を外に連れ出して言われた、「天を仰いで、星を数えることができるなら、数えてみなさい」。また彼に言われた、「あなたの子孫はあのようになるでしょう」。

キリストが教会のかしらであって、自らは、からだなる教会の救主であられるように、夫は妻のかしらである。

そして教会がキリストに仕えるように、妻もすべてのことにおいて、夫に仕えるべきである。
5:25
夫たる者よ。キリストが教会を愛してそのためにご自身をささげられたように、妻を愛しなさい。

キリストがそうなさったのは、水で洗うことにより、言葉によって、教会をきよめて聖なるものとするためであり、

また、しみも、しわも、そのたぐいのものがいっさいなく、清くて傷のない栄光の姿の教会を、ご自分に迎えるためである。
5:28
それと同じく、夫も自分の妻を、自分のからだのように愛さねばならない。自分の妻を愛する者は、自分自身を愛するのである。

自分自身を憎んだ者は、いまだかつて、ひとりもいない。かえって、キリストが教会になさったようにして、おのれを育て養うのが常である。
5:30
わたしたちは、キリストのからだの肢体なのである。
5:31
「それゆえに、人は父母を離れてその妻と結ばれ、ふたりの者は一体となるべきである」。
5:32
この奥義は大きい。それは、キリストと教会とをさしている。
5:33
いずれにしても、あなたがたは、それぞれ、自分の妻を自分自身のように愛しなさい。妻もまた夫を敬いなさい。
6:1
子たる者よ。主にあって両親に従いなさい。これは正しいことである。
6:2
「あなたの父と母とを敬え」。これが第一の戒めであって、次の約束がそれについている、

「そうすれば、あなたは幸福になり、地上でながく生きながらえるであろう」。
6:4
父たる者よ。子供をおこらせないで、主の薫陶と訓戒とによって、彼らを育てなさい。

Gospel: Luke 2:22-40
22 When the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord
23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),☆
24 and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”☆
25 Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.
26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.*
27 He came in the Spirit into the temple. When the parents brought in the child, Jesus, that they might do concerning him according to the custom of the law,
28 then he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 “Now you are releasing your servant, Master,
according to your word, in peace;
30 for my eyes have seen your salvation,
31 which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;
32 a light for revelation to the nations,
and the glory of your people Israel.”
33 Joseph and his mother were marvelling at the things which were spoken concerning him,
34 and Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.
35 Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
36 There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,
37 and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshipping with fastings and petitions night and day.
38 Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.
39 When they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.
40 The child was growing, and was becoming strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

6 He believed in the LORD, who credited it to him for righteousness.

2 Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

17 By faith, Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac. Yes, he who had gladly received the promises was offering up his one and only son,

The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph

Gospel: Luke 2:22-40
22 When the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord
23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),☆
24 and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”☆
25 Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.
26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.*
27 He came in the Spirit into the temple. When the parents brought in the child, Jesus, that they might do concerning him according to the custom of the law,
28 then he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 “Now you are releasing your servant, Master,
according to your word, in peace;
30 for my eyes have seen your salvation,
31 which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;
32 a light for revelation to the nations,
and the glory of your people Israel.”
33 Joseph and his mother were marvelling at the things which were spoken concerning him,
34 and Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.
35 Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
36 There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,
37 and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshipping with fastings and petitions night and day.
38 Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.
39 When they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.
40 The child was growing, and was becoming strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

15:1 After these things the LORD’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
2 Abram said, “Lord* the LORD, what will you give me, since I go childless, and he who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”
3 Abram said, “Behold, to me you have given no children†: and, behold, one born in my house is my heir.”
4 Behold, the LORD’s word came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir, but he who will come out of your own body will be your heir.”
5 The LORD brought him outside, and said, “Look now towards the sky, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” He said to Abram, “So will your offspring‡ be.”
6 He believed in the LORD, who credited it to him for righteousness.
21:1 The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as he had spoken.
2 Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 Abraham called his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac. *
*15:2: The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai”.

Hebrews 11:8, 11-12, 17-19
8 By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went.
11 By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.
17 By faith, Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac. Yes, he who had gladly received the promises was offering up his one and only son,
18 to whom it was said, “your offspring‡ will be accounted as from Isaac”; ☆
19 concluding that God is able to raise up even from the dead. Figuratively speaking, he also did receive him back from the dead.
