だれでも、キリストについている者だというので、あなたがたに水一杯でも飲ませてくれるものは、よく言っておくが、決してその報いからもれることはないであろう。
また、わたしを信じるこれらの小さい者のひとりをつまずかせる者は、大きなひきうすを首にかけられて海に投げ込まれた方が、はるかによい。
もし、あなたの片手が罪を犯させるなら、それを切り捨てなさい。両手がそろったままで地獄の消えない火の中に落ち込むよりは、かたわになって命に入る方がよい。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マルコによる福音 9:41-50
神様は私たちの滅びではなく、救いを望んでおられます。
「もし片方の手（足・目）があなたをつまづかせるなら、切り捨ててしまいなさい。 ・・・地獄に投げ込まれるよりは ・・・ 命にあずかる方がよい。」
潔さ。善のため、幸のため、救いのための潔さを神様は求めておられます。
人は大いにして自分の弱さにズルズルと流されてしまい、結局は自分のちっぽけな姿に嫌気をさしてしまう悪（循環）から抜け出せないでいるものです。自分のエゴ（私利私欲・利己主義）に縛られたままで悶々と苦しみを味わい続けるのを止めて、エゴを捨て真に自己を解放し、神様と隣人に開かれた者となる潔さを持ちたいものです。

5章1節
自分の財産を頼みとするな。「わたしは、何でも思いのままだ」と言うな。
5章2節
本能と自分の力に引きずられ、欲望のままに生きてはいけない。
5章3節
「だれもわたしを支配できない」と言うな。主は必ずお前に復讐なさるだろう。
5章4節
「罪を犯したが、何も起こらなかった」と言うな。主は忍耐しておられるのだ。

どうせ罪は贖われるのだからといい気になって、罪に罪を重ねてはならない。

41 For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.
42 Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.
43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, * into the unquenchable fire,
44 ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’ ☆†
45 If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna, ‡ into the fire that will never be quenched?

イエスは言われた、「やめさせないがよい。だれでもわたしの名で力あるわざを行いながら、すぐそのあとで、わたしをそしることはできない。
わたしたちに反対しない者は、わたしたちの味方である。

マルコによる福音 9:38-40
「わたしたちに従わないので、やめさせようとしました」という表現はとても微妙です。この「わたしたち」にイエスが含まれているかどうか、ギリシャ語原文からは断定できません。あるタガログ語の聖書では、イエスを含めた「わたしたち」として翻訳していますが、これはイエス自身の発言「わたしたちに逆らわない者は･･･」との整合性を考慮してのことでしょう。いずれにしても、弟子たちは「あなたに従わないので･･･」とは言わなかったのです。今でこそ「わたしたち」は、「キリストの神秘体である教会」を意識した表現として通用しますが、当時の弟子たちにそのような概念(＝教会感覚)はありませんでしたから、弟子たちのエゴが露呈した発言だと考えるのも、決して無茶なことではないでしょう。
かつて、主の祈りの「わたしたち」が限定的・閉鎖的である･･･として、これを省こうとする向きがありましたが、言葉の意味をしっかりと噛みしめながら祈る「わたしたち」は、主から頂いた祈りの言葉を省くことを選びませんでした。

ヨハネがイエスに言った、「先生、わたしたちについてこない者が、あなたの名を使って悪霊を追い出しているのを見ましたが、その人はわたしたちについてこなかったので、やめさせました」。
9:39
イエスは言われた、「やめさせないがよい。だれでもわたしの名で力あるわざを行いながら、すぐそのあとで、わたしをそしることはできない。
9:40
わたしたちに反対しない者は、わたしたちの味方である。

シラ書〔集会の書〕 4:11-19
4章11節
知恵は、それに従う子らを高め、これを追い求める者を助ける。
4章12節
知恵を愛する者は、命を愛する者。朝早く起きて知恵を求める者は、喜びに満たされる。
4章13節
知恵を得る者は、誉れを受け継ぎ、行く先々で、主から祝福される。
4章14節
知恵に仕える者は、聖なる方に奉仕する者。知恵を愛する者は、主から愛される。
4章15節
知恵に聞き従う者は、諸国民を正しく裁き、知恵に心を向ける者は、安らかに暮らす。
4章16節
知恵を信頼すれば、知恵が与えられ、子孫もその知恵を受け継ぐ。
4章17節
知恵は、最初、お前を険しい道に連れて行き、恐れの気持を抱かせて、おじけさせる。知恵の試練は、お前を激しく苦しめる。知恵は、お前を信頼するまで、数々の要求を突きつけて、お前を試みる。
4章18節
だがすぐに、知恵は再びお前のもとに来て、お前を喜ばせ、その真意を明らかに示す。
4章19節
しかし、お前が道をそれるなら、知恵はお前を見捨て、お前が破滅していくにまかせる。

39 But Jesus said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.
40 For whoever is not against us is on our side.

Sirach 4:11-19
11 Wisdom exalts her sons,
And takes hold of them that seek her.
12 He that loves her loves life;
And they that seek to her early shall be filled with gladness.
13 He that holds her fast shall inherit glory;
And where * he enters, the Lord will bless.
14 They that do her service shall minister to the Holy One;
And them that love her the Lord does love.
15 He that gives ear to her shall judge the nations;
And he that gives heed to her shall dwell securely.
16 If he trust her, he shall inherit her;
And his generations shall have her in possession.
17 For at the first she will walk with him in crooked ways,
And will bring fear and dread upon him,
And torment him with her discipline,

マルコによる福音 9:30-37
それから彼らはそこを立ち去り、ガリラヤをとおって行ったが、イエスは人に気づかれるのを好まれなかった。
それは、イエスが弟子たちに教えて、「人の子は人々の手にわたされ、彼らに殺され、殺されてから三日の後によみがえるであろう」と言っておられたからである。
しかし、彼らはイエスの言われたことを悟らず、また尋ねるのを恐れていた。
それから彼らはカペナウムにきた。そして家におられるとき、イエスは弟子たちに尋ねられた、「あなたがたは途中で何を論じていたのか」。
彼らは黙っていた。それは途中で、だれが一ばん偉いかと、互に論じ合っていたからである。
そこで、イエスはすわって十二弟子を呼び、そして言われた、「だれでも一ばん先になろうと思うならば、一ばんあとになり、みんなに仕える者とならねばならない」。
そして、ひとりの幼な子をとりあげて、彼らのまん中に立たせ、それを抱いて言われた。
「だれでも、このような幼な子のひとりを、わたしの名のゆえに受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのである。そして、わたしを受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのではなく、わたしをおつかわしになったかたを受けいれるのである」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マルコによる福音 9:30-37
「わたしの名のためにこのような子どもの一人を受け入れる者は、わたしを受け入れるのである。」 （マルコ9章37節）
子どもを受け入れること・・・それは容易なことではありません。子どもはエネルギーにあふれ、素直な面もあれば、どんどん変化や成長していくものでもあり、壊れやすい器のような存在でもあります。そんな子どもたちに自分がどう向き合い、つきあうかが「受け入れる」際には求められるわけです。子どもは自分が接する大人が本物かどうか見抜く目を持っています。ですから、子どもを受け入れることは結局は自分自身の姿勢、ありのままの自分が問われることになります。だからこそイエスは「子どもを受け入れることはわたしを受け入れること」だと言われているのでしょう。
さて、私たちはどのように自分の身近にいる子どもと向き合っているでしょうか？

子よ、主に仕えるつもりなら、自らを試練に向けて備えよ。
2章2節
心を引き締めて、耐え忍べ。災難のときにも、取り乱すな。
2章3節
主に寄りすがり、決して離れるな。そうすれば、豊かな晩年を送ることになる。
2章4節
身にふりかかる艱難は、すべて甘受せよ。たとえ屈辱を受けても、我慢せよ。
2章5節
金は火で精錬され、人は屈辱のかまどで陶冶され、神に受け入れられる。〔病気のときも貧しいときも、主に依り頼め。〕
2章6節
主を信頼せよ。そうすれば必ず助けてくださる。お前の歩む道を一筋にして、主に望みを置け。
2章7節
主を畏れる人たちよ、主の憐れみを待ち望め。わき見をしてはならない。さもないと、道を踏み外す。
2章8節
主を畏れる人たちよ、主を信頼せよ。そうすれば必ず報われる。
2章9節

Gospel : Mark 9:30-37
30 They went out from there, and passed through Galilee. He didn’t want anyone to know it.
31 For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”
32 But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33 He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing amongst yourselves on the way?”
34 But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.
35 He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”
36 He took a little child, and set him in the middle of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,
37 “Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but him who sent me.”

1 My son, if you come to serve the Lord,
Prepare your soul for temptation.
2 Set your heart aright, and constantly endure,
And make not haste in time of calamity.
3 Cleave to him, and depart not,
That you may be increased at your latter end.

5 For gold is tried in the fire,

33 He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing amongst yourselves on the way?”
34 But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.
35 He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”
36 He took a little child, and set him in the middle of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,
37 “Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but him who sent me.”

さて、彼らがほかの弟子たちの所にきて見ると、大ぜいの群衆が弟子たちを取り囲み、そして律法学者たちが彼らと論じ合っていた。
群衆はみな、すぐイエスを見つけて、非常に驚き、駆け寄ってきて、あいさつをした。
イエスが彼らに、「あなたがたは彼らと何を論じているのか」と尋ねられると、
群衆のひとりが答えた、「先生、おしの霊につかれているわたしのむすこを、こちらに連れて参りました。
霊がこのむすこにとりつきますと、どこででも彼を引き倒し、それから彼はあわを吹き、歯をくいしばり、からだをこわばらせてしまいます。それでお弟子たちに、この霊を追い出してくださるように願いましたが、できませんでした」。
イエスは答えて言われた、「ああ、なんという不信仰な時代であろう。いつまで、わたしはあなたがたと一緒におられようか。いつまで、あなたがたに我慢ができようか。その子をわたしの所に連れてきなさい」。
そこで人々は、その子をみもとに連れてきた。霊がイエスを見るや否や、その子をひきつけさせたので、子は地に倒れ、あわを吹きながらころげまわった。
そこで、イエスが父親に「いつごろから、こんなになったのか」と尋ねられると、父親は答えた、「幼い時からです。
霊はたびたび、この子を火の中、水の中に投げ入れて、殺そうとしました。しかしできますれば、わたしどもをあわれんでお助けください」。
イエスは彼に言われた、「もしできれば、と言うのか。信ずる者には、どんな事でもできる」。
その子の父親はすぐ叫んで言った、「信じます。不信仰なわたしを、お助けください」。
イエスは群衆が駆け寄って来るのをごらんになって、けがれた霊をしかって言われた、「おしとつんぼの霊よ、わたしがおまえに命じる。この子から出て行け。二度と、はいって来るな」。
すると霊は叫び声をあげ、激しく引きつけさせて出て行った。その子は死人のようになったので、多くの人は、死んだのだと言った。
しかし、イエスが手を取って起されると、その子は立ち上がった。
家にはいられたとき、弟子たちはひそかにお尋ねした、「わたしたちは、どうして霊を追い出せなかったのですか」。
すると、イエスは言われた、「このたぐいは、祈によらなければ、どうしても追い出すことはできない」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マルコによる福音 9:14-29
「できれば頼む」なんて言い方をよくするが、これはできなければこちらで別の手立てがあるよ、ということだ。程度の差はあれ、相手へのお願い度はそんなに高くない。人間関係においてはこれでもいいことはある。
全能の神に対して、私たちは何をどのように願っているだろうか。「御心ならば」と言っているつもりで本当は「できれば」とお願いしていないだろうか。そうであればその程度のもの（こと）しか願っていないということだ。神をみくびっているってことだ。
このお父さんはイエスに指摘されてハッと気づいて言う。
「信じます。信仰のないわたしをお助けください！」。
イエスは今日私たちに問う。
「信じてますか？信じる者には何でもできる！」。

Gospel : Mark 9:14-29
14 Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them.
15 Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.
16 He asked the scribes, “What are you asking them?”
17 One of the multitude answered, “Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;
18 and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren’t able.”
19 He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”
20 They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.
21 He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?”
He said, “From childhood.
22 Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”
25 When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”
26 Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.
28 When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”
29 He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”

そこで、王はすぐに衛兵をつかわし、ヨハネの首を持って来るように命じた。衛兵は出て行き、獄中でヨハネの首を切り、
盆にのせて持ってきて少女に与え、少女はそれを母にわたした。
ヨハネの弟子たちはこのことを聞き、その死体を引き取りにきて、墓に納めた。
さて、使徒たちはイエスのもとに集まってきて、自分たちがしたことや教えたことを、みな報告した。
するとイエスは彼らに言われた、「さあ、あなたがたは、人を避けて寂しい所へ行って、しばらく休むがよい」。それは、出入りする人が多くて、食事をする暇もなかったからである。
そこで彼らは人を避け、舟に乗って寂しい所へ行った。
ところが、多くの人々は彼らが出かけて行くのを見、それと気づいて、方々の町々からそこへ、一せいに駆けつけ、彼らより先に着いた。
イエスは舟から上がって大ぜいの群衆をごらんになり、飼う者のない羊のようなその有様を深くあわれんで、いろいろと教えはじめられた。
ところが、はや時もおそくなったので、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、「ここは寂しい所でもあり、もう時もおそくなりました。
みんなを解散させ、めいめいで何か食べる物を買いに、まわりの部落や村々へ行かせてください」。
イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたの手で食物をやりなさい」。弟子たちは言った、「わたしたちが二百デナリものパンを買ってきて、みんなに食べさせるのですか」。
するとイエスは言われた、「パンは幾つあるか。見てきなさい」。彼らは確かめてきて、「五つあります。それに魚が二ひき」と言った。

サウルは立って、ジフの荒野でダビデを捜すために、イスラエルのうちから選んだ三千人をひき連れて、ジフの荒野に下った。

こうしてダビデとアビシャイとが夜、民のところへ行ってみると、サウルは陣所のうちに身を横たえて寝ており、そのやりは枕もとに地に突きさしてあった。そしてアブネルと民らとはその周囲に寝ていた。

アビシャイはダビデに言った、「神はきょう敵をあなたの手に渡されました。どうぞわたしに、彼のやりをもってひと突きで彼を地に刺しとおさせてください。ふたたび突くには及びません」。

27 “But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
29 To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.
30 Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
31 “As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.
32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
33 If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34 If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind towards the unthankful and evil.
36 “Therefore be merciful,
even as your Father is also merciful.

マルコによる福音 9:2-13
六日の後、イエスは、ただペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネだけを連れて、高い山に登られた。ところが、彼らの目の前でイエスの姿が変り、
その衣は真白く輝き、どんな布さらしでも、それほどに白くすることはできないくらいになった。
すると、エリヤがモーセと共に彼らに現れて、イエスと語り合っていた。
ペテロはイエスにむかって言った、「先生、わたしたちがここにいるのは、すばらしいことです。それで、わたしたちは小屋を三つ建てましょう。一つはあなたのために、一つはモーセのために、一つはエリヤのために」。
そう言ったのは、みんなの者が非常に恐れていたので、ペテロは何を言ってよいか、わからなかったからである。
すると、雲がわき起って彼らをおおった。そして、その雲の中から声があった、「これはわたしの愛する子である。これに聞け」。
彼らは急いで見まわしたが、もはやだれも見えず、ただイエスだけが、自分たちと一緒におられた。
一同が山を下って来るとき、イエスは「人の子が死人の中からよみがえるまでは、いま見たことをだれにも話してはならない」と、彼らに命じられた。
彼らはこの言葉を心にとめ、死人の中からよみがえるとはどういうことかと、互に論じ合った。 9:11そしてイエスに尋ねた、「なぜ、律法学者たちは、エリヤが先に来るはずだと言っているのですか」。
イエスは言われた、「確かに、エリヤが先にきて、万事を元どおりに改める。しかし、人の子について、彼が多くの苦しみを受け、かつ恥ずかしめられると、書いてあるのはなぜか。
しかしあなたがたに言っておく、エリヤはすでにきたのだ。そして彼について書いてあるように、人々は自分かってに彼をあしらった」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マルコによる福音 9:2-13
「これはわたしの愛する子。これに聞け」。３人の弟子たちを連れて高い山に登られたイエスが光り輝く姿に変わる、いわゆるご変容の出来事によって、神の国の福音を宣ベ伝えてきたイエスが、この後エルサレムへと向かい、十字架の苦しみを通して最後には復活の栄光を受ける、ということが示されます。そのクライマックスとも言うべき場面が上に挙げた父なる神からの声です。洗礼の場面で耳にした天からの声がまたここで繰り返されることによって、イエスの使命が再確認され、さらに明らかにされます。
「これはわたしの愛する子」。イエスは父なる神から愛されている者。それゆえに私たちのもとに遣わされ、その愛を私たちに身をもって伝えようとされます。「これに聞け」。私たちは父なる神の声に従ってこのイエスの言葉に耳を傾けます。そしてイエスそのものが「み言葉」です。第１朗読にもあるとおり、万物はこのみ言葉によって創造されました（Cf．ヨハネ１・３）。
今日も私たちがイエスという神の言葉によって支えられ、生かされていることを黙想しながら、このイエスを見つめ、イエスに聞き入ることができるよう祈りましょう。

さて、信仰とは、望んでいる事がらを確信し、まだ見ていない事実を確認することである。
11:2
昔の人たちは、この信仰のゆえに賞賛された。
11:3
信仰によって、わたしたちは、この世界が神の言葉で造られたのであり、したがって、見えるものは現れているものから出てきたのでないことを、悟るのである。
11:4
信仰によって、アベルはカインよりもまさったいけにえを神にささげ、信仰によって義なる者と認められた。神が、彼の供え物をよしとされたからである。彼は死んだが、信仰によって今もなお語っている。
11:5
信仰によって、エノクは死を見ないように天に移された。神がお移しになったので、彼は見えなくなった。彼が移される前に、神に喜ばれた者と、あかしされていたからである。
11:6
信仰がなくては、神に喜ばれることはできない。なぜなら、神に来る者は、神のいますことと、ご自身を求める者に報いて下さることとを、必ず信じるはずだからである。
11:7
信仰によって、ノアはまだ見ていない事がらについて御告げを受け、恐れかしこみつつ、その家族を救うために箱舟を造り、その信仰によって世の罪をさばき、そして、信仰による義を受け継ぐ者となった。

Gospel : Mark 9:2-13
2 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.
3 His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
4 Elijah and Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus.
5 Peter answered Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
6 For he didn’t know what to say, for they were very afraid.
7 A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”
8 Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Jesus only.
9 As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
10 They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.
11 They asked him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
12 He said to them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?
13 But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him.”

Hebrews 11:1-7
1 Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
2 For by this, the elders obtained testimony.
3 By faith, we understand that the universe has been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible.
4 By faith, Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had testimony given to him that he was righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and through it he, being dead, still speaks.
5 By faith, Enoch was taken away, so that he wouldn’t see death, and he was not found, because God translated him. For he has had testimony given to him that before his translation he had been well pleasing to God.
6 Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
7 By faith, Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear,* prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

マタイによる福音 16:13-19
イエスがピリポ・カイザリヤの地方に行かれたとき、弟子たちに尋ねて言われた、「人々は人の子をだれと言っているか」。
彼らは言った、「ある人々はバプテスマのヨハネだと言っています。しかし、ほかの人たちは、エリヤだと言い、また、エレミヤあるいは預言者のひとりだ、と言っている者もあります」。
そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「それでは、あなたがたはわたしをだれと言うか」。
シモン・ペテロが答えて言った、「あなたこそ、生ける神の子キリストです」。
すると、イエスは彼にむかって言われた、「バルヨナ・シモン、あなたはさいわいである。あなたにこの事をあらわしたのは、血肉ではなく、天にいますわたしの父である。
そこで、わたしもあなたに言う。あなたはペテロである。そして、わたしはこの岩の上にわたしの教会を建てよう。黄泉の力もそれに打ち勝つことはない。

「聖ペトロの使徒座の記念日は、使徒ペトロを礎として建てられた教会の一致のしるしとして、すでに四世紀にローマで祝われていた。」（『毎日の読書』より）
今日の福音箇所に見られるイエス様とペトロのやりとりは興味深いものです。「私は誰か言ってみなさい」という質問にペトロが答えたとき、イエス様は「それでは私もあなたが誰であるか言っておこう」と言って彼を教会の礎に据えられました。

マタイによる福音 16:13-19
イエスがピリポ・カイザリヤの地方に行かれたとき、弟子たちに尋ねて言われた、「人々は人の子をだれと言っているか」。
彼らは言った、「ある人々はバプテスマのヨハネだと言っています。しかし、ほかの人たちは、エリヤだと言い、また、エレミヤあるいは預言者のひとりだ、と言っている者もあります」。
そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「それでは、あなたがたはわたしをだれと言うか」。
シモン・ペテロが答えて言った、「あなたこそ、生ける神の子キリストです」。

「聖ペトロの使徒座の記念日は、使徒ペトロを礎として建てられた教会の一致のしるしとして、すでに四世紀にローマで祝われていた。」（『毎日の読書』より）
今日の福音箇所に見られるイエス様とペトロのやりとりは興味深いものです。「私は誰か言ってみなさい」という質問にペトロが答えたとき、イエス様は「それでは私もあなたが誰であるか言っておこう」と言って彼を教会の礎に据えられました。

Gospel : Matthew 16:13-19
13 Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 They said, “Some say John the Baptiser, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
18 I also tell you that you are Peter,* and on this rock † I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades‡ will not prevail against it.
19 I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
*16:18: Peter’s name, Petros in Greek, is the word for a specific rock or stone.

今日の福音はマルコの真ん中に当たります。ナザレのイエスが誰であるのかという中心テーマの第一の答えが、今日の「メシアです。メシアはイスラエルが待ち望んでいた救い主です。そして十字架において、この問いはイスラエルを越えていきます。異邦人であるローマの百人隊長によって「神の子」と告白されます。イエスが真に誰であるのかは、十字架で明らかにされるので、ペトロの言動がイエスに厳しく叱責されても、まだ分からないのである意味で仕方がありません。しかし十字架のイエスを見ても、果たして私たちはイエスが本当に誰であるのか悟れるでしょうか。これもまた、難しい問いです。ではどうやって？私たちにできることから考えるならば、自分の十字架をしっかり担って、もう一度イエスの十字架を見つめ直すことからでしょうか。やってみないことにはわかりません。できることから始めたいものです。

28 They told him, “John the Baptiser, and others say Elijah, but others: one of the prophets.”
29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”
30 He commanded them that they should tell no one about him.
31 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
33 But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men.”

1 God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
2 The fear of you and the dread of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky. Everything that moves along the ground, and all the fish of the sea, are delivered into your hand.
3 Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given everything to you.
4 But flesh with its life, that is, its blood, you shall not eat.

6 Whoever sheds man’s blood, his blood will be shed by man, for God made man in his own image.

11 I will establish my covenant with you: All flesh will not be cut off any more by the waters of the flood. There will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 God said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.

そのうちに、彼らはベツサイダに着いた。すると人々が、ひとりの盲人を連れてきて、さわってやっていただきたいとお願いした。
イエスはこの盲人の手をとって、村の外に連れ出し、その両方の目につばきをつけ、両手を彼に当てて、「何か見えるか」と尋ねられた。
すると彼は顔を上げて言った、「人が見えます。木のように見えます。歩いているようです」。
それから、イエスが再び目の上に両手を当てられると、盲人は見つめているうちに、なおってきて、すべてのものがはっきりと見えだした。
そこでイエスは、「村にはいってはいけない」と言って、彼を家に帰された。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マルコによる福音 8:22-26
舞台となっている村はベトサイダです。マタイによる福音書の中ではイエスが、コラジンと並び称して「不幸だ」と言って叱り付けている町。奇跡が行われたのに悔い改めなかったためです。では、奇跡というものは何のために行われるのか。一つには、人を回心へと導くためのもの、と言うことができます。ですから、見ても信じない人に対して奇跡は行われません。一方、トマスのように「見るまでは信じない、即ち見れば信じる」という人のためにイエスは、惜しみなく、徹底的に見せてくださいます。
盲人は、はっきりと見えるようになった目でイエスを見つめました。きっとイエスが何者であるかを見てしまったことでしょう。悔い改めない町に戻って行って、再び目が曇ってしまうことを嫌ったのか。「見ても信じない」と言う罪を重ねないようにとの配慮からか。あるいは、耳が聞こえず舌の回らない人を癒したとき(ﾏﾙｺ7,31〜37)とおなじ理由なのか。
いずれにしても、今日の私たちに求められる姿勢はひとつです。善意の村人たちの願いを思い起こしましょう。もちろん盲人の目が開くことを期待していたでしょうが、何よりもイエスに「触れていただきたい」と願っています。それは、この人に触れさえすれば・ﾆいうあの女性の信仰と一緒です。既に信じているのです。

22 He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him.
23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.
24 He looked up, and said, “I see men; for I see them like trees walking.”
25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.
26 He sent him away to his house, saying, “Don’t enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village.”

6 At the end of forty days, Noah opened the window of the ship which he had made,
7 and he sent out a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.
8 He himself sent out a dove to see if the waters were abated from the surface of the ground,
9 but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him into the ship, for the waters were on the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him into the ship.
10 He waited yet another seven days; and again he sent the dove out of the ship.
11 The dove came back to him at evening and, behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters were abated from the earth.
12 He waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; and she didn’t return to him anymore.
13 In the six hundred first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ship, and looked. He saw that the surface of the ground was dried.
20 Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 The LORD smelled the pleasant aroma. The LORD said in his heart, “I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. I will never again strike every living thing, as I have done.

22 He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him.
23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.
24 He looked up, and said, “I see men; for I see them like trees walking.”
25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.
26 He sent him away to his house, saying, “Don’t enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village.”

Genesis 8:6-13, 20-22
6 At the end of forty days, Noah opened the window of the ship which he had made,
7 and he sent out a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.
8 He himself sent out a dove to see if the waters were abated from the surface of the ground,
9 but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him into the ship, for the waters were on the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him into the ship.
10 He waited yet another seven days; and again he sent the dove out of the ship.
11 The dove came back to him at evening and, behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters were abated from the earth.
12 He waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; and she didn’t return to him anymore.
13 In the six hundred first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ship, and looked. He saw that the surface of the ground was dried.
20 Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 The LORD smelled the pleasant aroma. The LORD said in his heart, “I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. I will never again strike every living thing, as I have done.

マルコによる福音 8:14-21
弟子たちはパンを持って来るのを忘れていたので、舟の中にはパン一つしか持ち合わせがなかった。
そのとき、イエスは彼らを戒めて、「パリサイ人のパン種とヘロデのパン種とを、よくよく警戒せよ」と言われた。
弟子たちは、これは自分たちがパンを持っていないためであろうと、互に論じ合った。
イエスはそれと知って、彼らに言われた、「なぜ、パンがないからだと論じ合っているのか。まだわからないのか、悟らないのか。あなたがたの心は鈍くなっているのか。
目があっても見えないのか。耳があっても聞えないのか。まだ思い出さないのか。
五つのパンをさいて五千人に分けたとき、拾い集めたパンくずは、幾つのかごになったか」。弟子たちは答えた、「十二かごです」。
「七つのパンを四千人に分けたときには、パンくずを幾つのかごに拾い集めたか」。「七かごです」と答えた。
そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「まだ悟らないのか」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マルコによる福音 8:14-21
今日の福音に出てくる言葉の一つに「パン種」があります。ある解説では「パン種は、小さい黄色の酵母（イースト菌）のこと。パン種を水と小麦粉に入れてこねると、パン生地が膨らみ、焼き上がったパンは更にふっくらとなる」とあります。そのようなパン種のもつ特徴から、その存在が小さなものであったり目立たないものであっても、大きく膨らませたり、広げたりすることができるということを言っているようです。
主イエスはファリサイ派とヘロデ派のパン種に気をつけなさいと警告されます。そして弟子たちには「なぜ、パンを持っていないことで議論するのか。まだ、分からないのか。悟らないのか。心がかたくなになっているのか・vと。
わたしたちは主イエスの後についていこうとしていますが、いつの間にか見失ったり、歩むべき方向が違っていたりします。そんな時は、小さな思いや考えが、自分の中で大きくなってしまっているからかもしれません。そんな自分だけの思いではなく、主イエスが示してくださる神のみ旨の中に入っていけますように、互いに祈り、日々与えられた努めを果たしていきましょう。

14 They forgot to take bread; and they didn’t have more than one loaf in the boat with them.
15 He warned them, saying, “Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.”
16 They reasoned with one another, saying, “It’s because we have no bread.”
17 Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, “Why do you reason that it’s because you have no bread? Don’t you perceive yet, neither understand? Is your heart still hardened?
18 Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?
19 When I broke the five loaves amongst the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?”
They told him, “Twelve.”
20 “When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?”
They told him, “Seven.”
21 He asked them, “Don’t you understand, yet?”

6:5 The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was continually only evil.
6 The LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.
7 The LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground?man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky?for I am sorry that I have made them.”
8 But Noah found favour in the LORD’s eyes.
7:1 The LORD said to Noah, “Come with all of your household into the ship, for I have seen your righteousness before me in this generation.
2 You shall take seven pairs of every clean animal with you, the male and his female. Of the animals that are not clean, take two, the male and his female.
3 Also of the birds of the sky, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive on the surface of all the earth.
4 In seven days, I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. Every living thing that I have made, I will destroy from the surface of the ground.”
5 Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him.
10 After the seven days, the floodwaters came on the earth.

手品を見るとき、タネが知りたくなるものです。でも、それがわからないからこそ手品は面白く魅力があるわけで、もしタネが明かされると、その巧妙さに感心するよりも、なんだそんなことかとがっかりし、新鮮な驚きも一瞬にして色あせてしまうものです。
ファリサイ派の人々は、イエス様が本当のメシアか知りたくて「しるし」を求めます。これは言ってみれば、手品で言うと、タネを明かせと言っているようなものじゃないでしょうか。だから、実際に「しるし」を彼らに見せたところで、感動し、それでメシアだと信じて認め、受け入れられるようになるのか疑問でもあります。
私たちは、イエス様がメシアであるのかないのかと暴こうとしたり、疑ったりせず、イエス様の示される慈しみと憐れみ、愛情が神様のものであると素直に受け止め、受け入れることが求められているのです。
神様の愛の驚きと感動を素直に味わうようにしましょう。

ファリサイ派の人々は、イエス様が本当のメシアか知りたくて「しるし」を求めます。これは言ってみれば、手品で言うと、タネを明かせと言っているようなものじゃないでしょうか。だから、実際に「しるし」を彼らに見せたところで、感動し、それでメシアだと信じて認め、受け入れられるようになるのか疑問でもあります。
私たちは、イエス様がメシアであるのかないのかと暴こうとしたり、疑ったりせず、イエス様の示される慈しみと憐れみ、愛情が神様のものであると素直に受け止め、受け入れることが求められているのです。
神様の愛の驚きと感動を素直に味わうようにしましょう。
