☆今日の聖書物語 *
ヨハネによる福音 7:40-53
群衆のある者がこれらの言葉を聞いて、「このかたは、ほんとうに、あの預言者である」と言い、
ほかの人たちは「このかたはキリストである」と言い、また、ある人々は、「キリストはまさか、ガリラヤからは出てこないだろう。
キリストは、ダビデの子孫から、またダビデのいたベツレヘムの村から出ると、聖書に書いてあるではないか」と言った。
こうして、群衆の間にイエスのことで分争が生じた。
彼らのうちのある人々は、イエスを捕えようと思ったが、だれひとり手をかける者はなかった。
さて、下役どもが祭司長たちやパリサイ人たちのところに帰ってきたので、彼らはその下役どもに言った、「なぜ、あの人を連れてこなかったのか」。
下役どもは答えた、「この人の語るように語った者は、これまでにありませんでした」。
パリサイ人たちが彼らに答えた、「あなたがたまでが、だまされているのではないか。
役人たちやパリサイ人たちの中で、ひとりでも彼を信じた者があっただろうか。
律法をわきまえないこの群衆は、のろわれている」。
彼らの中のひとりで、以前にイエスに会いにきたことのあるニコデモが、彼らに言った、
「わたしたちの律法によれば、まずその人の言い分を聞き、その人のしたことを知った上でなければ、さばくことをしないのではないか」。
彼らは答えて言った、「あなたもガリラヤ出なのか。よく調べてみなさい、ガリラヤからは預言者が出るものではないことが、わかるだろう」。
〔そして、人々はおのおの家に帰って行った。

☆今日の『み言葉』
ヨハネによる福音 7:40-53
イエスが司牧を始めた時、イエスを知っていた人々は驚きました。彼らは言って回りました。『あの人はどこからあんな事を学んだのだろう。あの人が授かっている知恵、あの手で行われる大きな奇跡は何だろう』Mt6,2。また、イエスの町では、『人々はみんなイエスをそれと認め、その口からでた優雅な言葉に感嘆し、この人はヨゼフの子ではないか』と言い合ったLk4,22。ヨハネも、『あの人のように話す人を、今まで見た事がない』と言っている。それでは、いったいイエスとは誰ですか？
イエスの言葉が預言者の言葉以上に心に浸み込みます。何故なら、『イエスは主であり、神の知恵だから』。そして『神の恵みがその上にあるからだ』Lk2,39。イエスは、ご自分の使命を短い言葉で要約する。『私が天から降ったのは、自分の意志を行う為ではなく、私をお遣わしになった方のみ旨を行う為だ』。
イエスの仕事は常に御父のみ旨を行う事です。更に、イエスは全ての行いや事を御父の手に委ねた。イエスは何と偉大な教師なのでしょう。イエスから学ぶにはいられません。

Gospel : John 7:40-53
40 Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, “This is truly the prophet.”
41 Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “What, does the Christ come out of Galilee?
42 Hasn’t the Scripture said that the Christ comes of the offspring* of David, ☆ and from Bethlehem,☆ the village where David was?”
43 So there arose a division in the multitude because of him.
44 Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.
45 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why didn’t you bring him?”
46 The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this man!”
47 The Pharisees therefore answered them, “You aren’t also led astray, are you?
48 Have any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?
49 But this multitude that doesn’t know the law is accursed.”
50 Nicodemus (he who came to him by night, being one of them) said to them,
51 “Does our law judge a man, unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?”
52 They answered him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”☆
53 Everyone went to his own house,

“Let us destroy the tree with its fruit,
and let us cut him off from the land of the living,
that his name may be no more remembered.”
20 But, the LORD of Armies, who judges righteously,
who tests the heart and the mind,
I shall see your vengeance on them;
for to you have I revealed my cause.
