☆今日の聖書物語 *
マタイによる福音 13:44-46
天国は、畑に隠してある宝のようなものである。人がそれを見つけると隠しておき、喜びのあまり、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてその畑を買うのである。
また天国は、良い真珠を捜している商人のようなものである。
高価な真珠一個を見いだすと、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてこれを買うのである。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マタイによる福音 13:44-46
イエスは数々の例え話を通して『神の国』の奥義について話されたのです。その目的は何だったのでしょうか。イエスは神の国の為に生まれ、生き、死んだのです。イエスの人生にとって神の国は中心的や絶対的な課題だったのです。その為、イエスの例え話は、日常の経験から出発して、秘められた真理を理解させるようにするもので、今まで五感で感じられなかった事を感じるようにさせるのです。
確かに、この世界では、大変な値打ちを持つ宝物が存在しているのに、知られないままでいる事もあるでしょう。同様に天の国も計り知れない価値が存在しているのに、その価値が知られないでいる事もありえます。その価値がはっきり分かるのは、聖霊の力によって、私達の内なる神の御働きに私達が同意する時だけです。イエスは忍耐強く私達の自由を尊重し、埋められた宝や隠された真珠のように、自分で真理を発見するように導いてくださいます。宝を手にすれば、全く新しい人生が開けます。天の国を見いだす者は大きな喜びを体験し、あらゆる宝の中で最高の宝を手に入れる事になります。カトリック教会にとって七つの秘跡は素晴らしい宝の隠れた畑のようなものです。この秘跡には神の愛の働きが一杯含まれています。人間を動かすのは『愛』と『飢え』です。もう一つは『王』、即ち権威、権力が人を動かします。しかし、神の愛が歴史をつくったのです。最高の宝である愛を目指して行動していきましょう。
マタイは宝と真珠の二つの例えを結び付け、一つの比喩のようにしています。イエスは天の国を用例としてではなく、宝そのものとして述べられました。つまり、全てに勝って神を求め、神の為に全てを犠牲にしてもよいとう希望と勇気に満ちた決意を述べようとしています。

モーセはそのあかしの板二枚を手にして、シナイ山から下ったが、その山を下ったとき、モーセは、さきに主と語ったゆえに、顔の皮が光を放っているのを知らなかった。

アロンとイスラエルの人々とがみな、モーセを見ると、彼の顔の皮が光を放っていたので、彼らは恐れてこれに近づかなかった。
34:31
モーセは彼らを呼んだ。アロンと会衆のかしらたちとがみな、モーセのもとに帰ってきたので、モーセは彼らと語った。
34:32
その後、イスラエルの人々がみな近よったので、モーセは主がシナイ山で彼に語られたことを、ことごとく彼らにさとした。

モーセは彼らと語り終えた時、顔おおいを顔に当てた。

45 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a merchant seeking fine pearls,
46 who having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mountain, Moses didn’t know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.
30 When Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come near him.
31 Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them.
32 Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them all the commandments that the LORD had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.
33 When Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
35 The children of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

それからイエスは、群衆をあとに残して家にはいられた。すると弟子たちは、みもとにきて言った、「畑の毒麦の譬を説明してください」。
イエスは答えて言われた、「良い種をまく者は、人の子である。
畑は世界である。良い種と言うのは御国の子たちで、毒麦は悪い者の子たちである。
それをまいた敵は悪魔である。収穫とは世の終りのことで、刈る者は御使たちである。
だから、毒麦が集められて火で焼かれるように、世の終りにもそのとおりになるであろう。
人の子はその使たちをつかわし、つまずきとなるものと不法を行う者とを、ことごとく御国からとり集めて、
炉の火に投げ入れさせるであろう。そこでは泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。
そのとき、義人たちは彼らの父の御国で、太陽のように輝きわたるであろう。耳のある者は聞くがよい。

「畑によい種を蒔くのは人の子」すなはち、ご自分のこととイエス様は仰っています。この世に生まれながら悪い人はいません。一人残らず神様の御心によって生まれてくるのです。神様は理性と自由意志とを備えた霊魂を人間に与えてくださいました。これによって人間は進歩し，発展して行けるのですが、神様を憎む悪魔は人間を神様から引き離そうとやっきになっているのです。その結果、ある人たちは、本来より良いほうを選ぶための自由意志を悪用して、神様にさからっているのです。それでも神様は人を見捨てず、いろいろな方法でたち直そうとしますが、自分の方から神様をすててしまう者には「燃え盛る炉の中に投げ込ませる」と言わざるをえないのです。私たちはいつも神様に忠実であるように努めましょう。

モーセは幕屋を取って、これを宿営の外に、宿営を離れて張り、これを会見の幕屋と名づけた。すべて主に伺い事のある者は出て、宿営の外にある会見の幕屋に行った。

モーセが出て、幕屋に行く時には、民はみな立ちあがり、モーセが幕屋にはいるまで、おのおのその天幕の入口に立って彼を見送った。
33:9
モーセが幕屋にはいると、雲の柱が下って幕屋の入口に立った。そして主はモーセと語られた。
33:10
民はみな幕屋の入口に雲の柱が立つのを見ると、立っておのおの自分の天幕の入口で礼拝した。
33:11
人がその友と語るように、主はモーセと顔を合わせて語られた。こうしてモーセは宿営に帰ったが、その従者なる若者、ヌンの子ヨシュアは幕屋を離れなかった。

彼と共にそこに立って主の名を宣べられた。

Gospel : Matthew 13:36-43
36 Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”
37 He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,
38 the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.
40 As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burnt with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.
41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

33:7 Now Moses used to take the tent and to pitch it outside the camp, far away from the camp, and he called it “The Tent of Meeting.” Everyone who sought the LORD went out to the Tent of Meeting, which was outside the camp.
8 When Moses went out to the Tent, that all the people rose up, and stood, everyone at their tent door, and watched Moses, until he had gone into the Tent.
9 When Moses entered into the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, stood at the door of the Tent, and spoke with Moses.
10 All the people saw the pillar of cloud stand at the door of the Tent, and all the people rose up and worshipped, everyone at their tent door.
11 The LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn’t depart from the Tent.
34:5b and stood with him there, and proclaimed the LORD’s name.
6 The LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, “The LORD! the LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
7 keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children’s children, on the third and on the fourth generation.”
8 Moses hurried and bowed his head towards the earth, and worshipped.
9 He said, “If now I have found favour in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go amongst us; although this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”
28 He was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

マルタはイエスに言った、「主よ、もしあなたがここにいて下さったなら、わたしの兄弟は死ななかったでしょう。
しかし、あなたがどんなことをお願いになっても、神はかなえて下さることを、わたしは今でも存じています」。
イエスはマルタに言われた、「あなたの兄弟はよみがえるであろう」。
マルタは言った、「終りの日のよみがえりの時よみがえることは、存じています」。
イエスは彼女に言われた、「わたしはよみがえりであり、命である。わたしを信じる者は、たとい死んでも生きる。

イエスさまは、ラザロが死んで四日目にラザロ家をようやく訪れました。マリアは「あなたが神にお願いになることは、何でもかなえられると、私は確信しています。」と言います。「私は復活であり、いのちである・・・」とのイエスさまの言葉を聴いて「あなたが、この世に来られるはずの神の子、メシアであることを、私は信じております」と100点満点の答えをした彼女でした。しかしラザロのお墓の前では、“四日”という現実の前に、石を取り除けるのをためらう彼女でした。彼女の“頭の中の信仰”と“現実の生活の中の信仰”のちぐはぐさは、私たち人間誰しもが持っているものです。大切なのは“信仰の弱さ”を気づいても、ガッカリしないでイエス様を見続けることです。

19 Many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.
20 Then when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary stayed in the house.
21 Therefore Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.
22 Even now I know that, whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”
23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
26 Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, God’s Son, he who comes into the world.”

15 Moses turned, and went down from the mountain, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand; tablets that were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.
16 The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tables.
17 When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is the noise of war in the camp.”
18 He said, “It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory. It is not the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”
19 As soon as he came near to the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing. Then Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.
20 He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
21 Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
22 Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
23 For they said to me, ‘Make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’
24 I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:’ so they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”
30 On the next day, Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to the LORD. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”
31 Moses returned to the LORD, and said, “Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.
32 Yet now, if you will, forgive their sin?and if not, please blot me out of your book which you have written.”
33 The LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

19 Many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.
20 Then when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary stayed in the house.
21 Therefore Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.
22 Even now I know that, whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”
23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

17 When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is the noise of war in the camp.”
18 He said, “It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory. It is not the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”
19 As soon as he came near to the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing. Then Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.
20 He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
21 Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
22 Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
23 For they said to me, ‘Make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’
24 I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:’ so they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”
30 On the next day, Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to the LORD. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”
31 Moses returned to the LORD, and said, “Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.
32 Yet now, if you will, forgive their sin?and if not, please blot me out of your book which you have written.”
33 The LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

そこで彼らに言われた、「祈るときには、こう言いなさい、『父よ、御名があがめられますように。御国がきますように。
わたしたちの日ごとの食物を、日々お与えください。
わたしたちに負債のある者を皆ゆるしますから、わたしたちの罪をもおゆるしください。わたしたちを試みに会わせないでください』」。
そして彼らに言われた、「あなたがたのうちのだれかに、友人があるとして、その人のところへ真夜中に行き、『友よ、パンを三つ貸してください。
友だちが旅先からわたしのところに着いたのですが、何も出すものがありませんから』と言った場合、
彼は内から、『面倒をかけないでくれ。もう戸は締めてしまったし、子供たちもわたしと一緒に床にはいっているので、いま起きて何もあげるわけにはいかない』と言うであろう。
しかし、よく聞きなさい、友人だからというのでは起きて与えないが、しきりに願うので、起き上がって必要なものを出してくれるであろう。
そこでわたしはあなたがたに言う。求めよ、そうすれば、与えられるであろう。捜せ、そうすれば見いだすであろう。門をたたけ、そうすれば、あけてもらえるであろう。
すべて求める者は得、捜す者は見いだし、門をたたく者はあけてもらえるからである。
あなたがたのうちで、父であるものは、その子が魚を求めるのに、魚の代りにへびを与えるだろうか。
卵を求めるのに、さそりを与えるだろうか。
このように、あなたがたは悪い者であっても、自分の子供には、良い贈り物をすることを知っているとすれば、天の父はなおさら、求めて来る者に聖霊を下さらないことがあろうか」。

わたしはいま下って、わたしに届いた叫びのとおりに、すべて彼らがおこなっているかどうかを見て、それを知ろう」。

その人々はそこから身を巡らしてソドムの方に行ったが、アブラハムはなお、主の前に立っていた。

アブラハムは近寄って言った、「まことにあなたは正しい者を、悪い者と一緒に滅ぼされるのですか。
18:24
たとい、あの町に五十人の正しい者があっても、あなたはなお、その所を滅ぼし、その中にいる五十人の正しい者のためにこれをゆるされないのですか。
18:25

Gospel: Luke 11:1-13
1 When he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”
2 He said to them, “When you pray, say,
‘Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come.
May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
Bring us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’”
5 He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
7 and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
8 I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
9 “I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?

13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

20 The LORD said, “Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous,
21 I will go down now, and see whether their deeds are as bad as the reports which have come to me. If not, I will know.”
22 The men turned from there, and went towards Sodom, but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
23 Abraham came near, and said, “Will you consume the righteous with the wicked?
24 What if there are fifty righteous within the city? Will you consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous who are in it?
25 Be it far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn’t the Judge of all the earth do right?”
26 The LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the whole place for their sake.”
27 Abraham answered, “See now, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord, although I am dust and ashes.

1 When he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”

‘Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come.
May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
Bring us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’”
5 He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
7 and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
8 I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.

24 What if there are fifty righteous within the city? Will you consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous who are in it?
25 Be it far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn’t the Judge of all the earth do right?”
26 The LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

Gospel : Matthew 13:24-30
24 He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field,
25 but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds* also amongst the wheat, and went away.
26 But when the blade sprang up and produced fruit, then the darnel weeds appeared also.
27 The servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did these darnel weeds come from?’
28 “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’
“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them up?’
29 “But he said, ‘No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”
*13:25: darnel is a weed grass (probably bearded darnel or lolium temulentum) that looks very much like wheat until it is mature, when the difference becomes very apparent.

3 Moses came and told the people all the LORD’s words, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which the LORD has spoken will we do.”
4 Moses wrote all the LORD’s words, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
5 He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to the LORD.
6 Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
7 He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “All that the LORD has spoken will we do, and be obedient.”
8 Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you concerning all these words.”

そこで、種まきの譬を聞きなさい。
だれでも御国の言を聞いて悟らないならば、悪い者がきて、その人の心にまかれたものを奪いとって行く。道ばたにまかれたものというのは、そういう人のことである。
石地にまかれたものというのは、御言を聞くと、すぐに喜んで受ける人のことである。
その中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけであって、御言のために困難や迫害が起ってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。
また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、御言を聞くが、世の心づかいと富の惑わしとが御言をふさぐので、実を結ばなくなる人のことである。
また、良い地にまかれたものとは、御言を聞いて悟る人のことであって、そういう人が実を結び、百倍、あるいは六十倍、あるいは三十倍にもなるのである」。

きょうの福音は種まきの喩えの解釈に当る部分である。主イエスは人々に多くの喩えを語られたが、その解釈をされたのは、この種まきの喩えと毒麦の喩えだけである。ある聖書学者は、これはイエスのものではなく、おそらく非常に古い初期の教会の解釈がここにある、いうなれば初期の教会の事情があると考えている。それはともあれ、この喩えの真意は聞くことの重要性であろう。三通りの聞き方があげられている。み言葉を心の中に受け入れても育たないことがあるのだ。「道端」、「石地」、「茨の中」に蒔かれた種である。一時的な情熱、この世のものへのわずらい、迫害の恐れ、などが、一度は喜んで受けいれたみ言葉を枯渇させてしまうのである。
戦後数年、わが国でもキリスト教に帰依する者は多かった。日本はキリスト教国になるとまで思われたほどであった。しかし経済的に奇跡の復興を遂げていく間に、その熱狂はいつしか消えて、かわりに今の無関心が残った。それでも70代、80代の世代に洗礼を受けた人々は多いはずだ。主イエスは、この人々が帰ってくる日を待っておられる。そのために私たちに何ができるだろうか。小教区の司牧の目を、ここにもしっかり向けていきたい。

そこで、種まきの譬を聞きなさい。
13:19
だれでも御国の言を聞いて悟らないならば、悪い者がきて、その人の心にまかれたものを奪いとって行く。道ばたにまかれたものというのは、そういう人のことである。
13:20
石地にまかれたものというのは、御言を聞くと、すぐに喜んで受ける人のことである。
13:21
その中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけであって、御言のために困難や迫害が起ってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。
13:22
また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、御言を聞くが、世の心づかいと富の惑わしとが御言をふさぐので、実を結ばなくなる人のことである。
13:23
また、良い地にまかれたものとは、御言を聞いて悟る人のことであって、そういう人が実を結び、百倍、あるいは六十倍、あるいは三十倍にもなるのである」。

Gospel : Matthew 13:18-23
18 “Hear, then, the parable of the farmer.
19 When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom, and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown by the roadside.
20 What was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word, and immediately with joy receives it;
21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
22 What was sown amongst the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
23 What was sown on the good ground, this is he who hears the word, and understands it, who most certainly bears fruit, and produces, some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.”

1 God* spoke all these words, saying,
2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,
6 and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 You shall labour six days, and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates;
11 for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.
12 “Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbour’s house. You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour’s.”

そのとき、ゼベダイの子らの母が、その子らと一緒にイエスのもとにきてひざまずき、何事かをお願いした。
そこでイエスは彼女に言われた、「何をしてほしいのか」。彼女は言った、「わたしのこのふたりのむすこが、あなたの御国で、ひとりはあなたの右に、ひとりは左にすわれるように、お言葉をください」。
イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたは、自分が何を求めているのか、わかっていない。わたしの飲もうとしている杯を飲むことができるか」。彼らは「できます」と答えた。
イエスは彼らに言われた、「確かに、あなたがたはわたしの杯を飲むことになろう。しかし、わたしの右、左にすわらせることは、わたしのすることではなく、わたしの父によって備えられている人々だけに許されることである」。
十人の者はこれを聞いて、このふたりの兄弟たちのことで憤慨した。
そこで、イエスは彼らを呼び寄せて言われた、「あなたがたの知っているとおり、異邦人の支配者たちはその民を治め、また偉い人たちは、その民の上に権力をふるっている。
あなたがたの間ではそうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者は、仕える人となり、
あなたがたの間でかしらになりたいと思う者は、僕とならねばならない。
それは、人の子がきたのも、仕えられるためではなく、仕えるためであり、また多くの人のあがないとして、自分の命を与えるためであるのと、ちょうど同じである」。

数年前、サンチャゴ巡礼の機会に恵まれ、スペインのコンポステッラの大聖堂を訪れた。そこには、今日記念する聖ヤコボ使徒の遺体が収められているという。祭壇前には大きな香炉が吊るされ、ミサの終わりには、八人かがりで引かれるその香炉は、あたかも振子時計の振り子のように、祭壇前から左右に天井高く舞い上がる。香を入れて後、祭壇のすぐ傍から眺めたその様は実に壮観であった。
ところで、聖ヤコボはどんな人物だったのだろうか。
今日の福音では、イエスと弟子達とのある問答に対して、イエスは、「・・・わたしの決めることではない。それは、わたしの父によって定められた・・・」と言われている。短いフレーズだが、イエスをよく表していると思う。自己本位ではなく、いつも父に結ばれ、父の御旨を遂行するイエスの姿が。さらに、イエスは「・・・異邦人の間では支配者たちが民を支配し、偉い人たちが権力を振るっている。しかし、あなた方の間では、そうであってはならない。・・・人の子が、仕えられるためではなく仕えるために、・・・同じように。」と力説されている。
聖ヤコボという使徒は、このイエスの姿にあやかって、宣教の場においては、神と他者のためにとことん生きた人物ではなかろうか。殉教、それはこの世の思いを捨て、しかしという方向転換をしてイエス・キリストに徹底的にしたがった生き方を生き抜いて行く時に生まれて来るのではなかろうか。
わたしたちも聖ヤコボ使徒の取り次ぎを願い、神の御旨に適った生き方が出来るようにしたい。

イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたは、自分が何を求めているのか、わかっていない。わたしの飲もうとしている杯を飲むことができるか」。彼らは「できます」と答えた。

20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.
21 He said to her, “What do you want?”
She said to him, “Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom.”
22 But Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptised with the baptism that I am baptised with?”
They said to him, “We are able.”
23 He said to them, “You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptised with the baptism that I am baptised with, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.
25 But Jesus summoned them, and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
26 It shall not be so amongst you, but whoever desires to become great amongst you shall be** your servant.
27 Whoever desires to be first amongst you shall be your bondservant, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

その日、イエスは家を出て、海べにすわっておられた。
ところが、大ぜいの群衆がみもとに集まったので、イエスは舟に乗ってすわられ、群衆はみな岸に立っていた。
イエスは譬で多くの事を語り、こう言われた、「見よ、種まきが種をまきに出て行った。
まいているうちに、道ばたに落ちた種があった。すると、鳥がきて食べてしまった。
ほかの種は土の薄い石地に落ちた。そこは土が深くないので、すぐ芽を出したが、
日が上ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。
ほかの種はいばらの地に落ちた。すると、いばらが伸びて、ふさいでしまった。
ほかの種は良い地に落ちて実を結び、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍にもなった。
耳のある者は聞くがよい」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マタイによる福音 13:1-9
「種を蒔く人」の喩えは、いつ読んでも、何回読んでも、よく考えさせられる喩え話ですね。せっかく蒔かれる種ではありますが、道端や石地や、茨の中に落ちたりして、結局よい土の上に落ちることができるものは少なく、百倍にもなるものも少ない・・・。だとすると、多くの実が結ばれるようにするためには、どうしたらいいのでしょうか。
種を蒔く人は、どこに種を蒔くかにもっと気をつけるべきだ、とも言えますが、たぶん第一の秘訣は、もっと多くの種を蒔く、というところにあるのではないかと思います。
毎日の生活の中で私たちが行う、励みの言葉、正直な微笑み、人のための苦労、模範になる勤勉さ、円満な人間関係など、それらの態度そのものが、私たちの蒔いている種です。その種はどこに落ちているのかよくわかりませんが、その種の量が多ければ多いほど、それだけ百倍になるものが増えることはまちがいない・・・・それは疑いもなく、確実なことだと、そう思います。

その荒野でイスラエルの人々の全会衆は、モーセとアロンにつぶやいた。

イスラエルの人々は彼らに言った、「われわれはエジプトの地で、肉のなべのかたわらに座し、飽きるほどパンを食べていた時に、主の手にかかって死んでいたら良かった。あなたがたは、われわれをこの荒野に導き出して、全会衆を餓死させようとしている」。

夕べになると、うずらが飛んできて宿営をおおった。また、朝になると、宿営の周囲に露が降りた。

その降りた露がかわくと、荒野の面には、薄いうろこのようなものがあり、ちょうど地に結ぶ薄い霜のようであった。

イスラエルの人々はそれを見て互に言った、「これはなんであろう」。彼らはそれがなんであるのか知らなかったからである。モーセは彼らに言った、「これは主があなたがたの食物として賜わるパンである。

1 On that day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the seaside.
2 Great multitudes gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat, and sat, and all the multitude stood on the beach.
3 He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a farmer went out to sow.
4 As he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and devoured them.
5 Others fell on rocky ground, where they didn’t have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth.
6 When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away.
7 Others fell amongst thorns. The thorns grew up and choked them.
8 Others fell on good soil, and yielded fruit: some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.
9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

1 They took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
2 The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;
3 and the children of Israel said to them, “We wish that we had died by the LORD’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
4 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from the sky for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.
5 It shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.”
9 Moses said to Aaron, “Tell all the congregation of the children of Israel, ‘Come near before the LORD, for he has heard your murmurings.’”
10 As Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, they looked towards the wilderness, and behold, the LORD’s glory appeared in the cloud.
11 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
12 “I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At evening you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread: and you shall know that I am the LORD your God.’”
13 In the evening, quail came up and covered the camp; and in the morning the dew lay around the camp.
14 When the dew that lay had gone, behold, on the surface of the wilderness was a small round thing, small as the frost on the ground.
15 When the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they didn’t know what it was. Moses said to them, “It is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.”

イエスがまだ群衆に話しておられるとき、その母と兄弟たちとが、イエスに話そうと思って外に立っていた。
それで、ある人がイエスに言った、「ごらんなさい。あなたの母上と兄弟がたが、あなたに話そうと思って、外に立っておられます」。
イエスは知らせてくれた者に答えて言われた、「わたしの母とは、だれのことか。わたしの兄弟とは、だれのことか」。
そして、弟子たちの方に手をさし伸べて言われた、「ごらんなさい。ここにわたしの母、わたしの兄弟がいる。
天にいますわたしの父のみこころを行う者はだれでも、わたしの兄弟、また姉妹、また母なのである」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
マタイによる福音 12:46-50
「だれでも、わたしの天の父の御心を行う人が、わたしの兄弟、姉妹、また母なのである」
父なる神様の御心を行う人とはどういう人でしょうか？何か立派な善行を積んだ人のことでしょうか？品行方正で、性格のよい人のことでしょうか？恐らくそうではありません。
イエスさまの弟子たちは、決して立派な人たちでもありませんでしたし、有名人でもありませんでした。教養のある人も少なかった。ただイエスさまの後に付いてきているだけです。それ以外にありません。イエスさまの後に従って、そして今このようにイエスさまの周りに座って、イエスさまの話に耳を傾けている。ただそれだけです。そしてそれが天の父なる神様の御心なのです。
ですから、私たちがイエスさまのあとに付き従い、みことばに耳を傾けているならば、私たちもイエスさまの弟子なのであり、それゆえイエスさまから、「わたしの母、わたしの兄弟」と呼ばれるのです。わたしの家族、と言われるのです。

46 While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
47 One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”
48 But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”
49 He stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Exodus 14:21--15:1
14:21 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22 The children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
23 The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the middle of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24 In the morning watch, the LORD looked out on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian army.
25 He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, “Let’s flee from the face of Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians!”
26 The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”
27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it. The LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.
28 The waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.
29 But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.

14:21 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22 The children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
23 The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the middle of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24 In the morning watch, the LORD looked out on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian army.

さて、一週の初めの日に、朝早くまだ暗いうちに、マグダラのマリヤが墓に行くと、墓から石がとりのけてあるのを見た。
そこで走って、シモン・ペテロとイエスが愛しておられた、もうひとりの弟子のところへ行って、彼らに言った、「だれかが、主を墓から取り去りました。どこへ置いたのか、わかりません」。
しかし、マリヤは墓の外に立って泣いていた。そして泣きながら、身をかがめて墓の中をのぞくと、
白い衣を着たふたりの御使が、イエスの死体のおかれていた場所に、ひとりは頭の方に、ひとりは足の方に、すわっているのを見た。
すると、彼らはマリヤに、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか」と言った。マリヤは彼らに言った、「だれかが、わたしの主を取り去りました。そして、どこに置いたのか、わからないのです」。
そう言って、うしろをふり向くと、そこにイエスが立っておられるのを見た。しかし、それがイエスであることに気がつかなかった。
イエスは女に言われた、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか。だれを捜しているのか」。マリヤは、その人が園の番人だと思って言った、「もしあなたが、あのかたを移したのでしたら、どこへ置いたのか、どうぞ、おっしゃって下さい。わたしがそのかたを引き取ります」。
イエスは彼女に「マリヤよ」と言われた。マリヤはふり返って、イエスにむかってヘブル語で「ラボニ」と言った。それは、先生という意味である。
イエスは彼女に言われた、「わたしにさわってはいけない。わたしは、まだ父のみもとに上っていないのだから。ただ、わたしの兄弟たちの所に行って、『わたしは、わたしの父またあなたがたの父であって、わたしの神またあなたがたの神であられるかたのみもとへ上って行く』と、彼らに伝えなさい」。
マグダラのマリヤは弟子たちのところに行って、自分が主に会ったこと、またイエスがこれこれのことを自分に仰せになったことを、報告した。

マグダラのマリアと言えば、映画「ダビンチコード」で世の中でもかなり認識されるようになった聖女です。大昔から、復活したイエスに一番初めに出会った人として、尊敬されると同時に嫉妬され、人間のごく自然な傾きから、イエスとマグダラのマリアのロマンスを語られもしてきました。
今日の朗読である復活のシーンは、とても心を動かされるところです。復活したイエスを園丁だと思っているマリアが、自分の名前を呼ばれてイエスだと気づく。私たちは、何か特別なことの中に真実があるとどこかで思ってしまっているような気がします。しかし、本当に大切なことは特別なこと以上に日常の中にあり、日常の中で何気なく繰り返されていることに真実があることが多いようです。
数え切れないほどイエスから呼ばれたであろう自分の名前を呼ばれたとき、マリアが今自分が出会っているのが誰であるのかに気づいたということは、大切なことに気づく鍵はやはり日常の中にあることを、私たちに教えているように思われます。そして、私たちも、何か特別なときであっても、日常で出会っているのと同じように神と出会うことになるのではないでしょうか。

Gospel : John 20:1-2, 11-18
1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.
2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!”
11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb,
12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”
14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?”
She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!”* which is to say, “Teacher!”†
17 Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.

Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene

Gospel : John 20:1-2, 11-18
1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.
2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!”
11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb,
12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”
14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?”
She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!”* which is to say, “Teacher!”†
17 Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.
*20:16: Rabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for “great teacher.”

一同が旅を続けているうちに、イエスがある村へはいられた。するとマルタという名の女がイエスを家に迎え入れた。
この女にマリヤという妹がいたが、主の足もとにすわって、御言に聞き入っていた。
ところが、マルタは接待のことで忙がしくて心をとりみだし、イエスのところにきて言った、「主よ、妹がわたしだけに接待をさせているのを、なんともお思いになりませんか。わたしの手伝いをするように妹におっしゃってください」。
主は答えて言われた、「マルタよ、マルタよ、あなたは多くのことに心を配って思いわずらっている。
しかし、無くてならぬものは多くはない。いや、一つだけである。マリヤはその良い方を選んだのだ。そしてそれは、彼女から取り去ってはならないものである」。

主はマムレのテレビンの木のかたわらでアブラハムに現れられた。それは昼の暑いころで、彼は天幕の入口にすわっていたが、

目を上げて見ると、三人の人が彼に向かって立っていた。彼はこれを見て、天幕の入口から走って行って彼らを迎え、地に身をかがめて、
18:3
言った、「わが主よ、もしわたしがあなたの前に恵みを得ているなら、どうぞしもべを通り過ごさないでください。
18:4
水をすこし取ってこさせますから、あなたがたは足を洗って、この木の下でお休みください。
18:5
わたしは一口のパンを取ってきます。元気をつけて、それからお出かけください。せっかくしもべの所においでになったのですから」。彼らは言った、「お言葉どおりにしてください」。
18:6
そこでアブラハムは急いで天幕に入り、サラの所に行って言った、「急いで細かい麦粉三セヤをとり、こねてパンを造りなさい」。
18:7
アブラハムは牛の群れに走って行き、柔らかな良い子牛を取って若者に渡したので、急いで調理した。
18:8
そしてアブラハムは凝乳と牛乳および子牛の調理したものを取って、彼らの前に供え、木の下で彼らのかたわらに立って給仕し、彼らは食事した。
18:9
彼らはアブラハムに言った、「あなたの妻サラはどこにおられますか」。彼は言った、「天幕の中です」。
