☆今日の聖書物語 *

ルカによる福音 9:46-50

　弟子たちの間に、彼らのうちでだれがいちばん偉いだろうかということで、議論がはじまった。

　イエスは彼らの心の思いを見抜き、ひとりの幼な子を取りあげて自分のそばに立たせ、彼らに言われた、

　「だれでもこの幼な子をわたしの名のゆえに受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのである。そしてわたしを受けいれる者は、わたしをおつかわしになったかたを受けいれるのである。あなたがたみんなの中でいちばん小さい者こそ、大きいのである」。

　するとヨハネが答えて言った、「先生、わたしたちはある人があなたの名を使って悪霊を追い出しているのを見ましたが、その人はわたしたちの仲間でないので、やめさせました」。

　イエスは彼に言われた、「やめさせないがよい。あなたがたに反対しない者は、あなたがたの味方なのである」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 9:46-50

　今日の福音は、私たちキリスト者の基準のようなものを示しているということができると思います。私たちは、神に受け入れられたいと思っています。実際、神は私たちを受け入れてくださっています。では、私たちは神を本当に受け入れているでしょうか。その基準になるのが、この個所であります。

　神は私たちがいつも受け入れやすいと思えるように、私たちの都合のいいように私たちの側にいらっしゃるわけではありません。時には、騒がしく、言うことを聞かず、自分に反抗し、罵倒してくる時もあるわけです。自分の時間をどうしてこの人（子）のために使わなければならないのか、と思ってしまうこともあるでしょう。実にその通りです。しかし、神が私たちを受け入れてくださったように、私たちが誰かを、時には自分自身を受け入れるとき、私たちは本当の意味で、つまり自分の都合と関係なしに、神をお迎えすることになるのでしょう。これはキリスト者の日常における、最も大きなチャレンジの一つであるように思われます。

　主はこう仰せられる、『わたしはシオンに帰って、エルサレムの中に住む。エルサレムは忠信な町ととなえられ、万軍の主の山は聖なる山と、となえられる』。

　万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、『エルサレムの街路には再び老いた男、老いた女が座するようになる。みな年寄の人々で、おのおのつえを手に持つ。

49 John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.”

50 Jesus said to him, “Don’t forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.”

Zechariah 8:1-8

1 The word of the LORD of Armies came to me.

2 the LORD of Armies says: “I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.”

3 the LORD says: “I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the middle of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called ‘The City of Truth;’ and the mountain of the LORD of Armies, ‘The Holy Mountain.’”

☆今日の聖書物語 *

ルカによる福音 16:19-31

　ある金持がいた。彼は紫の衣や細布を着て、毎日ぜいたくに遊び暮していた。

　ところが、ラザロという貧乏人が全身でき物でおおわれて、この金持の玄関の前にすわり、

　その食卓から落ちるもので飢えをしのごうと望んでいた。その上、犬がきて彼のでき物をなめていた。

　この貧乏人がついに死に、御使たちに連れられてアブラハムのふところに送られた。金持も死んで葬られた。

　そして黄泉にいて苦しみながら、目をあげると、アブラハムとそのふところにいるラザロとが、はるかに見えた。

　そこで声をあげて言った、『父、アブラハムよ、わたしをあわれんでください。ラザロをおつかわしになって、その指先を水でぬらし、わたしの舌を冷やさせてください。わたしはこの火炎の中で苦しみもだえています』。

　アブラハムが言った、『子よ、思い出すがよい。あなたは生前よいものを受け、ラザロの方は悪いものを受けた。しかし今ここでは、彼は慰められ、あなたは苦しみもだえている。

　そればかりか、わたしたちとあなたがたとの間には大きな淵がおいてあって、こちらからあなたがたの方へ渡ろうと思ってもできないし、そちらからわたしたちの方へ越えて来ることもできない』。

　そこで金持が言った、『父よ、ではお願いします。わたしの父の家へラザロをつかわしてください。

　わたしに五人の兄弟がいますので、こんな苦しい所へ来ることがないように、彼らに警告していただきたいのです』。

　アブラハムは言った、『彼らにはモーセと預言者とがある。それに聞くがよかろう』。

　金持が言った、『いえいえ、父アブラハムよ、もし死人の中からだれかが兄弟たちのところへ行ってくれましたら、彼らは悔い改めるでしょう』。

　アブラハムは言った、『もし彼らがモーセと預言者とに耳を傾けないなら、死人の中からよみがえってくる者があっても、彼らはその勧めを聞き入れはしないであろう』」。

Gospel: Luke 16:19-31

19 “Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, living in luxury every day.

20 A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 The beggar died, and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.

23 In Hades,§ he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom.

24 He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’

25 “But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But now here he is comforted and you are in anguish.

26 Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that no one may cross over from there to us.’

27 “He said, ‘I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house;

28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, so they won’t also come into this place of torment.’

29 “But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’

30 “He said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’

31 “He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’”

☆今日の聖書物語 *

ルカによる福音 9:43b-45

　人々はみな、神の偉大な力に非常に驚いた。
みんなの者がイエスのしておられた数々の事を不思議に思っていると、弟子たちに言われた、

　「あなたがたはこの言葉を耳におさめて置きなさい。人の子は人々の手に渡されようとしている」。

　しかし、彼らはなんのことかわからなかった。それが彼らに隠されていて、悟ることができなかったのである。また彼らはそのことについて尋ねるのを恐れていた。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 9:43b-45

　イエス様から受難の予告を聞かされた弟子たちは、「怖くてその言葉について尋ねられなかった。」とあります。理解出来なかったこと以上に、真実を知る恐ろしさを感じていたからでしょう。

　理解できない「何か」、もしくは理解したい「何か」があると、人は心に未知なる物・事に対して期待と不安を抱くものです。またそれが自分にとって受け入れがたいものだと察する時には恐れを感じ、自然と拒否しようと目をそらすものです。「真実を恐れる必要はない」はずなのですが、頭と心は必ずしも同じ方向へと進んでいくものではありません。自分を偽るようになりますが、これが人の正直な反応でもあるわけです。しかし私たちは嘘、偽りが真実から目を背けさせ、真実の光を避けて闇の中へと人を誘い、迷いと混乱のそれこそ迷宮へと導いていくことを経験で知っています。いつも真実から目をさらさず、真実を受け止め、受け入れる勇気が欲しいものです。

　「受難の予告」がありましたが、「復活の予告」もあるのです。（ﾏﾙｺ福音9:30-32参照）勇気を持って真実を受け取り、また真実を語るとき、不安、心配、恐れもありますが、神様の祝福もあるのです。

ルカによる福音 9:18-22

　イエスがひとりで祈っておられたとき、弟子たちが近くにいたので、彼らに尋ねて言われた、「群衆はわたしをだれと言っているか」。

　彼らは答えて言った、「バプテスマのヨハネだと、言っています。しかしほかの人たちは、エリヤだと言い、また昔の預言者のひとりが復活したのだと、言っている者もあります」。

　彼らに言われた、「それでは、あなたがたはわたしをだれと言うか」。ペテロが答えて言った、「神のキリストです」。

　イエスは彼らを戒め、この事をだれにも言うなと命じ、そして言われた、

　「人の子は必ず多くの苦しみを受け、長老、祭司長、律法学者たちに捨てられ、また殺され、そして三日目によみがえる」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 9:18-22

　イエスは「群集は、わたしのことを何者だと言っているか」と尋ねられました。この問を現代の人々にあてはめて考えてみると、面白いと思います。自分の同僚や友人、家族は、イエスのことを何者だと言っているのでしょうか。ある人は、「世界史の教科書に出てくる人」と言い、またある人は「イエスは、伝説の人でしょ」と言っています。その他多くの人が、イエスについて知らないか、偏った見方しかしていないのです。

　イエスは、弟子たちに「それでは、あなたがたはわたしを何者だと言うのか。」と質問されました。この質問は、イエスを信じて従っている人々にあてはめて考えてみましょう。あなたなら、何と答えるでしょうか。イエスは、ペトロが「神からのメシアです。」と答えた後に、「人の子は必ず多くの苦しみを受け、長老、祭司長、律法学者たちから排斥されて殺され、三日目に復活することになっている。」と言われました。特に「必ず多くの苦しみを受け、」というところが、理解しにくいところでしょう。しかし、イエスを信じる者たちが、誰かが苦しんでいるときにそばにいて、共に苦しみを担うならば、イエスとはどのようなお方なのかは、人々に伝わっていくに違いありません。

ルカによる福音 9:7-9

　さて、領主ヘロデはいろいろな出来事を耳にして、あわて惑っていた。それは、ある人たちは、ヨハネが死人の中からよみがえったと言い、

　またある人たちは、エリヤが現れたと言い、またほかの人たちは、昔の預言者のひとりが復活したのだと言っていたからである。

　そこでヘロデが言った、「ヨハネはわたしがすでに首を切ったのだが、こうしてうわさされているこの人は、いったい、だれなのだろう」。そしてイエスに会ってみようと思っていた。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 9:7-9

　この箇所では、ヘロデ王の耳に入ってきた、イエスの噂について語られています。ある人は、「イエスは洗礼者ヨハネの生き返り」だと考え、またある人は、「エリヤが現れたのだ」と考え、そしてまたある人は、「昔の預言者の一人だ」と考えておりました。これを見るときに、当時の人々のイエスに対する見方というのが、非常に乏しく、偏っていたものであったことが分かります。けれども現代の一般の人々の考えでも、この程度の答えしか出てこないように思います。しかしキリスト者である私たちは、そうであってはいけないでしょう。

　イエスという方の本質を「あの人がこう言っているから」とか「みんながそう思っているから」といったように人の言うことや噂だけで決めつけるのは危険です。そのような見方では、イエスという方はただ特別な任務をもって、神から遣わされた一人の人間としか捉えることができないからです。その反対にペトロのように、自分の体験や霊的な目でイエスを見続けるならば、自分にとって、イエスを救い主として信じ、受け止めることができるのではないでしょうか。

　つまり自分にとってイエスという方がどのような方なのか、ということを私たちも弟子たちのように追求し続けていかなければならないということです。

1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, the LORD’s* word came by Haggai, the prophet, to Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

2 “This is what the LORD of Armies says: These people say, ‘The time hasn’t yet come, the time for the LORD’s house to be built.’”

3 Then the LORD’s word came by Haggai, the prophet, saying,

4 “Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your panelled houses, while this house lies waste?

5 Now therefore this is what the LORD of Armies says: Consider your ways.

6 You have sown much, and bring in little. You eat, but you don’t have enough. You drink, but you aren’t filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes in it.”

　また神の国を宣べ伝え、かつ病気をなおすためにつかわして

　言われた、「旅のために何も携えるな。つえも袋もパンも銭も持たず、また下着も二枚は持つな。

　また、どこかの家にはいったら、そこに留まっておれ。そしてそこから出かけることにしなさい。

　だれもあなたがたを迎えるものがいなかったら、その町を出て行くとき、彼らに対する抗議のしるしに、足からちりを払い落しなさい」。

　弟子たちは出て行って、村々を巡り歩き、いたる所で福音を宣べ伝え、また病気をいやした。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 9:1-6

　「......何も持って行ってはならない。杖も袋もパンも持ってはならない。下着も二枚は持ってはならない。」この逆説でもって、イエスは宣教師の姿を描き、宣教活動の根本を教えて下さっているのではないでしょうか。宣教師は、おのずと、自分の持っているものを分かち合い、培ってきた信念や、価値観や信仰を伝えていくのです。言い換えれば、自分を与えているのです。

　それはすばらしく、高尚なことですが、諸刃の剣のように、あぶないことでもあります。その危険というのは“自分を伝える”ということです。人々は宣教師の私ではなく、キリストを必要としているのです。したがって、私と私のものすべては、キリストを伝え、人をキリストに出会わせる道具にすぎないということです。

　自分が道具だという意識の度合いに応じて、神が働かれ、人がキリストに出会い、”神の国が近づいた“というキリストの言葉が実現するのです。

Gospel : Luke 9:1-6

1 He called the twelve* together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

2 He sent them out to preach God’s Kingdom and to heal the sick.

3 He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey?neither staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats apiece.

4 Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.

5 As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”

6 They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing everywhere.

5 At the evening offering I arose up from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn; and I fell on my knees, and spread out my hands to the LORD my God;

7 Since the days of our fathers we have been exceeding guilty to this day; and for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests, have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

8 Now for a little moment grace has been shown from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and revived us a little in our bondage.

9 For we are bondservants; yet our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but has extended loving kindness to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to set up the house of our God, and to repair its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

ルカによる福音 8:19-21

　さて、イエスの母と兄弟たちとがイエスのところにきたが、群衆のためそば近くに行くことができなかった。

　それで、だれかが「あなたの母上と兄弟がたが、お目にかかろうと思って、外に立っておられます」と取次いだ。

　するとイエスは人々にむかって言われた、「神の御言を聞いて行う者こそ、わたしの母、わたしの兄弟なのである」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 8:19-21

　「母上と御兄弟たちが、お会いしたいと外に立っておられます」（ルカ8:20）

　弟子たちや大勢の人がイエス様の周りにいるのに、母親や親戚が「外」にいます。これはイエスさまと弟子との象徴的な姿を示しています。新しい教会の弟子は血筋によるものでも、ユダヤ教の司祭職のように家柄によるものでもないのです。

　イエス様は、マリア様のようにご自分を生んだお方にさえ、公平な扱いをなさいます。もしかすると、マリア様は、「お会いしたいと外に立っておられます」と伝えてくれる人いたので、すぐに息子であるイエスにお会いできるというお気持ちを抱かれたかもしれません。しかし、イエス様は、「わたしの母、わたしの兄弟とは、神の言葉を聞いて行う人たちのことである」と突き放した言い方をなさいます。マリア様は、はっとなさったに違いありません。聖母はこのとき、わが子イエスは単なるご自分の息子ではない、そしてご自分も単なる母ではないと、覚悟をなさったのではないでしょうか。

　「お言葉どおり、この身に成りますように」（ルカ1：38）。

　イエス様の弟子になるには、信仰によってのみ可能なのです。これは新しい唯一のキリストとの絆です。み言葉を聴いてそれを実行する人こそが、イエス様と親密な関係を築くことになるのです。

20 Some people told him, “Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.”

21 But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God, and do it.”

Ezra 6:7-8, 12b, 14-20

7 Leave the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.

8 Moreover I make a decree what you shall do for these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses must be given with all diligence to these men, that they not be hindered.

12b I Darius have made a decree. Let it be done with all diligence.


14 The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

15 This house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

16 The children of Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.

17 They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

18 They set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses.

19 The children of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

20 Because the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together, all of them were pure. They killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.

　隠されているもので、あらわにならないものはなく、秘密にされているもので、ついには知られ、明るみに出されないものはない。

　だから、どう聞くかに注意するがよい。持っている人は更に与えられ、持っていない人は、持っていると思っているものまでも、取り上げられるであろう」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 8:16-18

　「持たない者は、自分が持っていると思うものまでも取り上げられるであろう」。

　登山では、たとえそれが日帰りの予定でも懐中電灯を持って行くのが常識だ。疲労や事故、あるいは天候などの影響により、行動予定が遅れて日が暮れてしまうこともあるからだ。そんなとき、懐中電灯を灯せば比較的安全に下ることができる。

　しかし、せっかく持っていても、ポケットに入れたままでは夜道を照らさず意味がない。そうして歩いているうちに崖から落っこちて命を失ってしまうかもしれない。持っている物をどのように使うか、そしてその物は何のためにあるのかをはっきりと理解しておくべきだろう。

　私たちは光であるキリストをポケットの中に入れたままで、自分自身も周囲の人も照らしていないことが多いのではないか？

17 For nothing is hidden, that will not be revealed; nor anything secret, that will not be known and come to light.

18 Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”

Ezra 1:1-6

1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the LORD’s word * by Jeremiah’s mouth might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

2 “Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The LORD, the God† of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3 Whoever there is amongst you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.

4 Whoever is left, in any place where he lives, let the men of his place help him with silver, with gold, with goods, and with animals, besides the freewill offering for God’s house which is in Jerusalem.’”

5 Then the heads of fathers’ households of Judah and Benjamin, the priests, and the Levites, all whose spirit God had stirred to go up rose up to build the LORD’s house which is in Jerusalem.

6 All those who were around them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with animals, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered.

ルカによる福音 16:1-13

　イエスはまた、弟子たちに言われた、「ある金持のところにひとりの家令がいたが、彼は主人の財産を浪費していると、告げ口をする者があった。

　そこで主人は彼を呼んで言った、『あなたについて聞いていることがあるが、あれはどうなのか。あなたの会計報告を出しなさい。もう家令をさせて置くわけにはいかないから』。

　この家令は心の中で思った、『どうしようか。主人がわたしの職を取り上げようとしている。土を掘るには力がないし、物ごいするのは恥ずかしい。

　そうだ、わかった。こうしておけば、職をやめさせられる場合、人々がわたしをその家に迎えてくれるだろう』。

　それから彼は、主人の負債者をひとりびとり呼び出して、初めの人に、『あなたは、わたしの主人にどれだけ負債がありますか』と尋ねた。

　『油百樽です』と答えた。そこで家令が言った、『ここにあなたの証書がある。すぐそこにすわって、五十樽と書き変えなさい』。

　次に、もうひとりに、『あなたの負債はどれだけですか』と尋ねると、『麦百石です』と答えた。これに対して、『ここに、あなたの証書があるが、八十石と書き変えなさい』と言った。

　ところが主人は、この不正な家令の利口なやり方をほめた。この世の子らはその時代に対しては、光の子らよりも利口である。

　またあなたがたに言うが、不正の富を用いてでも、自分のために友だちをつくるがよい。そうすれば、富が無くなった場合、あなたがたを永遠のすまいに迎えてくれるであろう。

　小事に忠実な人は、大事にも忠実である。そして、小事に不忠実な人は大事にも不忠実である。

　だから、もしあなたがたが不正の富について忠実でなかったら、だれが真の富を任せるだろうか。

　また、もしほかの人のものについて忠実でなかったら、だれがあなたがたのものを与えてくれようか。

　どの僕でも、ふたりの主人に兼ね仕えることはできない。一方を憎んで他方を愛し、あるいは、一方に親しんで他方をうとんじるからである。あなたがたは、神と富とに兼ね仕えることはできない」。

　そうだ、わかった。こうしておけば、職をやめさせられる場合、人々がわたしをその家に迎えてくれるだろう』。

　それから彼は、主人の負債者をひとりびとり呼び出して、初めの人に、『あなたは、わたしの主人にどれだけ負債がありますか』と尋ねた。

　『油百樽です』と答えた。そこで家令が言った、『ここにあなたの証書がある。すぐそこにすわって、五十樽と書き変えなさい』。

　次に、もうひとりに、『あなたの負債はどれだけですか』と尋ねると、『麦百石です』と答えた。これに対して、『ここに、あなたの証書があるが、八十石と書き変えなさい』と言った。

　ところが主人は、この不正な家令の利口なやり方をほめた。この世の子らはその時代に対しては、光の子らよりも利口である。

　またあなたがたに言うが、不正の富を用いてでも、自分のために友だちをつくるがよい。そうすれば、富が無くなった場合、あなたがたを永遠のすまいに迎えてくれるであろう。

　小事に忠実な人は、大事にも忠実である。そして、小事に不忠実な人は大事にも不忠実である。

　だから、もしあなたがたが不正の富について忠実でなかったら、だれが真の富を任せるだろうか。

Gospel: Luke 16:1-13

1 He also said to his disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager. An accusation was made to him that this man was wasting his possessions.

2 He called him, and said to him, ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for you can no longer be manager.’

3 “The manager said within himself, ‘What will I do, seeing that my lord is taking away the management position from me? I don’t have strength to dig. I am ashamed to beg.

4 I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from management, they may receive me into their houses.’

5 Calling each one of his lord’s debtors to him, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe to my lord?’

6 He said, ‘A hundred batos* of oil.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’

7 Then he said to another, ‘How much do you owe?’ He said, ‘A hundred cors† of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’

8 “His lord commended the dishonest manager because he had done wisely, for the children of this world are, in their own generation, wiser than the children of the light.

9 I tell you, make for yourselves friends by means of unrighteous mammon, so that when you fail, they may receive you into the eternal tents.

10 He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

11 If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12 If you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?

13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. You aren’t able to serve God and Mammon.”‡

マタイによる福音 9:9-13

　さてイエスはそこから進んで行かれ、マタイという人が収税所にすわっているのを見て、「わたしに従ってきなさい」と言われた。すると彼は立ちあがって、イエスに従った。

　それから、イエスが家で食事の席についておられた時のことである。多くの取税人や罪人たちがきて、イエスや弟子たちと共にその席に着いていた。

　パリサイ人たちはこれを見て、弟子たちに言った、「なぜ、あなたがたの先生は、取税人や罪人などと食事を共にするのか」。

　イエスはこれを聞いて言われた、「丈夫な人には医者はいらない。いるのは病人である。

　『わたしが好むのは、あわれみであって、いけにえではない』とはどういう意味か、学んできなさい。わたしがきたのは、義人を招くためではなく、罪人を招くためである」。

☆今日の『み言葉』

マタイによる福音 9:9-13

　今日は、福音記者使徒マタイの祝日です。ミサの福音では徴税人マタイがイエス様から召される箇所が読まれます。

　ローマのパンテオン近くにフランス国民教会として知られるサン・ルイ教会があります。その教会はカラヴァッジョのマタイ三部作があることでも知られ、「聖マタイの召命」「聖マタイと天使」「聖マタイの殉教」の作品の前には、巡礼者や観光客が列をなしています。カラヴァッジョは南欧のレンブラントとも言われ、光の使い方が巧みです。戸口に立ったイエスがマタイを指差しています。イエスの頭の上を戸口からの光がテーブルを囲む男たちの方へ差し込んでいます。以前は、「私ですか」というふうに自分を指していた中年の男性がマタイと考えられていましたが、最近の研究ではうつむいてひたすら金を勘定している青年がマタイに違いないと考えられるようになったそうです。

　収税所から離れて、反省し、後悔するときに神さまから呼ばれるのではない。＜これで、今日はいくら儲かる＞と金を計算している罪の現場にあっても「私についてきなさい」と主から呼ばれるのだ、というメッセージを教えてくれます。

　ヘロデの家令クーザの妻ヨハンナ、スザンナ、そのほか多くの婦人たちも一緒にいて、自分たちの持ち物をもって一行に奉仕した。

☆今日の『み言葉』

ルカによる福音 8:1-3

　今日の福音では、神の国を宣べ伝えてまわるイエスの姿があります。十二人の弟子たちや多くの婦人たちも一緒でした。一緒にいることによって、イエスの語られる言葉を耳にすることも多くなり、イエスのなさる業を目にする機会も多くあったことでしょう。一緒にいる、共にいることによって得られる喜びがそこにあると言えます。今、ここにある恵みに気づくことはとても大切だと思います。気づかないことによって、他の場所にその恵みを探し出そうとしてしまうかもしれません。福音書の中で、「自分の持ち物を出し合って、一行に奉仕していた」姿が記されていますが、それは神の国のメッセージが彼らに届いていたことの表れと言えましょう。
