ルカによる福音 13:31-35
ちょうどその時、あるパリサイ人たちが、イエスに近寄ってきて言った、「ここから出て行きなさい。ヘロデがあなたを殺そうとしています」。
そこで彼らに言われた、「あのきつねのところへ行ってこう言え、『見よ、わたしはきょうもあすも悪霊を追い出し、また、病気をいやし、そして三日目にわざを終えるであろう。
しかし、きょうもあすも、またその次の日も、わたしは進んで行かねばならない。預言者がエルサレム以外の地で死ぬことは、あり得ないからである』。
ああ、エルサレム、エルサレム、預言者たちを殺し、おまえにつかわされた人々を石で打ち殺す者よ。ちょうどめんどりが翼の下にひなを集めるように、わたしはおまえの子らを幾たび集めようとしたことであろう。それだのに、おまえたちは応じようとしなかった。

ルカによる福音 13:31-35
「わたしは、きょうも、あすも、その次の日も、旅をつづけなければならない」
イエス様は御父から与えられた使命をここではっきりと仰っています。そのとき、ご自分が人々のために、ひどい苦しみをうけて、命までも捧げつくすことを意識しておられたのです。イエス様の旅は、まだ終わりではありません。いまもなお、教会を通して、また御聖体となって、わたしたちを養い、力づけてくださいます。イエス様に感謝して従いましょう。

しかし、わたしたちを愛して下さったかたによって、わたしたちは、これらすべての事において勝ち得て余りがある。

わたしは確信する。死も生も、天使も支配者も、現在のものも将来のものも、力あるものも、

高いものも深いものも、その他どんな被造物も、わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにおける神の愛から、わたしたちを引き離すことはできないのである。

31 On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”
32 He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.’
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”☆

Romans Rom 8:31b-39
31b If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
33 Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”☆
37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

すると、ある人がイエスに、「主よ、救われる人は少ないのですか」と尋ねた。
そこでイエスは人々にむかって言われた、「狭い戸口からはいるように努めなさい。事実、はいろうとしても、はいれない人が多いのだから。
家の主人が立って戸を閉じてしまってから、あなたがたが外に立ち戸をたたき始めて、『ご主人様、どうぞあけてください』と言っても、主人はそれに答えて、『あなたがたがどこからきた人なのか、わたしは知らない』と言うであろう。
そのとき、『わたしたちはあなたとご一緒に飲み食いしました。また、あなたはわたしたちの大通りで教えてくださいました』と言い出しても、
彼は、『あなたがたがどこからきた人なのか、わたしは知らない。悪事を働く者どもよ、みんな行ってしまえ』と言うであろう。
あなたがたは、アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブやすべての預言者たちが、神の国にはいっているのに、自分たちは外に投げ出されることになれば、そこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。
それから人々が、東から西から、また南から北からきて、神の国で宴会の席につくであろう。
こうしてあとのもので先になるものがあり、また、先のものであとになるものもある」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
ルカによる福音 13:22-30
「主よ、救われる者は少ないのでしょうか」 この人は、十字架上の死を前にしたイエスに向かって聞いています。
よく受験勉強を「狭い門」にたとえることがあります。受験する学校が決まり受験の日が決まっていて、試験科目も決まっていたとします。そのような状況で、受験生が担任の先生に、「あの学校に合格する者は少ないのでしょうか。心配でたまりません」と言ったとします。そのとき、担任の先生は何と言うでしょうか。「そんなことを聞きにくる暇があったら、自分が決めた目標に向かって勉強しなさい」ということでしょう。
イエスの時代の神学者の間では、だれが救われるかという論争があったようです。わずかな人間だけが救われるという先生がいれば、神様の寛大さによってイスラエル人たち皆が救われるという学者もいました。
イエスが言いたいのは、だれが救われるか、人数はどれぐらいかということよりも、救いの条件について語られるのです。まして、イエスの道は受験ではなく、十字架といういのちをささげる愛の道です。救いを得るためには、「狭い門」から入る必要があります。
聖パウロが言うように、自分の中にキリストの受難と死を受け入れ、へりくだりの道を主とともに進みながらその教えに生きることです。
マザー・テレサのように、”A ＬＩＶＩＮＧ ＬＯＶＥ ＩＮ ＡＣＴＩＯＮ”が、私たちの救いの基準です。あなたはどう思いますか。

御霊もまた同じように、弱いわたしたちを助けて下さる。なぜなら、わたしたちはどう祈ったらよいかわからないが、御霊みずから、言葉にあらわせない切なるうめきをもって、わたしたちのためにとりなして下さるからである。

そして、人の心を探り知るかたは、御霊の思うところがなんであるかを知っておられる。なぜなら、御霊は、聖徒のために、神の御旨にかなうとりなしをして下さるからである。

すると、ある人がイエスに、「主よ、救われる人は少ないのですか」と尋ねた。

そこでイエスは人々にむかって言われた、「狭い戸口からはいるように努めなさい。事実、はいろうとしても、はいれない人が多いのだから。

家の主人が立って戸を閉じてしまってから、あなたがたが外に立ち戸をたたき始めて、『ご主人様、どうぞあけてください』と言っても、主人はそれに答えて、『あなたがたがどこからきた人なのか、わたしは知らない』と言うであろう。

そのとき、『わたしたちはあなたとご一緒に飲み食いしました。また、あなたはわたしたちの大通りで教えてくださいました』と言い出しても、

Gospel : Luke 13:22-30
22 He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and travelling on to Jerusalem.
23 One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?”
He said to them,
24 “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.
25 When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27 He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.
29 They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.
30 Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”

ルカによる福音 13:18-21
そこで言われた、「神の国は何に似ているか。またそれを何にたとえようか。
一粒のからし種のようなものである。ある人がそれを取って庭にまくと、育って木となり、空の鳥もその枝に宿るようになる」。
また言われた、「神の国を何にたとえようか。
パン種のようなものである。女がそれを取って三斗の粉の中に混ぜると、全体がふくらんでくる」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
ルカによる福音 13:18-21
福音はルカから「からし種とパン種のたとえ」でした。この二つの喩は神の国の喩ですが、始めの行「そこで、イエスは言われた(毎日のミサでは、「その時、イエスは言われた」)」の「そこで」が「それ故」或いは「従って」と言う語ですから、先行の安息日の癒しの意味を説明する役割を持っています。
ここでの二つの喩は、その中心が小さな初めと大きな終わりと言うコントラストにあります。これを安息日の癒しに応用すると、18年間も病魔に犯されて腰の曲がっていた女が、イエスの言葉の介入によって一瞬の内に真っ直ぐになると言う、古い惨めさから新しい完全さへの転換のコントラストは、見えざる神の国の実現の見える徴です。それは人目には小さく惨めなからし種が空の鳥も巣を作るほど大きくなり、僅かなパン種が3サトンの粉を膨らまして、沢山のパンを作ると言うコントラストに似ています。そして先の癒しは、安息日の癒しとしての問題性を抱えて居るので、後の二つの喩にはもう一つの意味が在ります。
イエスの神の支配 神の国は、律法の遵守によって来るものでは無く、律法の枠内に閉じ込められるものでも無く、ユダヤ民族内に限定されるものでも有りません。からし種に於いて「木の枝に空の鳥が巣を作る」と言う表象は、旧約における異邦人の表象です。これによって神の支配がユダヤ民族に限定されない事が示唆されます。パン種の喩の場合も僅かなパン種が3サトンの粉を膨らませて沢山のパンになると言う時、無数の多くの人々が神の国を受ける事を意味し、これはイエスが神の国を教えて殆ど成功しなかった、ユダヤ民族の限界を超える可能性を示しています。

19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
20 Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
21 It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures * of flour, until it was all leavened.”
*13:21: literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed towards us.
19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

18 He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
20 Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
21 It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures * of flour, until it was all leavened.”
*13:21: literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel

Romans 8:18-25
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed towards us.
19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.
23 Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.

☆今日の聖書物語 *
ルカによる福音 6:12-19
このころ、イエスは祈るために山へ行き、夜を徹して神に祈られた。
夜が明けると、弟子たちを呼び寄せ、その中から十二人を選び出し、これに使徒という名をお与えになった。
すなわち、ペテロとも呼ばれたシモンとその兄弟アンデレ、ヤコブとヨハネ、ピリポとバルトロマイ、
マタイとトマス、アルパヨの子ヤコブと、熱心党と呼ばれたシモン、
ヤコブの子ユダ、それからイスカリオテのユダ。このユダが裏切者となったのである。
そして、イエスは彼らと一緒に山を下って平地に立たれたが、大ぜいの弟子たちや、ユダヤ全土、エルサレム、ツロとシドンの海岸地方などからの大群衆が、
教を聞こうとし、また病気をなおしてもらおうとして、そこにきていた。そして汚れた霊に悩まされている者たちも、いやされた。
また群衆はイエスにさわろうと努めた。それは力がイエスの内から出て、みんなの者を次々にいやしたからである。

☆今日の『み言葉』
ルカによる福音 6:12-19
12使徒の中でも、あまり目立たない聖シモンと聖ユダ。今日の福音の中でも、この二人は最後の方に紹介されています。
聖シモンは12使徒の一人として列挙されている以外知られてはいません。エジプトとペルシャで宣教した後、聖ユダと一緒に殉教したと言われています。
聖ユダは、イスカリオテのユダと同じ名前だったために、混同、誤解されて長い間、不当に冷遇されたようです。でも、このことから19世紀ごろになると、無実の罪に苦しむ人、誤解による失意の内にある人たちの守護の聖人として大切にされるようになります。
現代でも誤解や偏見、無理解、不当な差別を受けて苦しむ人がたくさんいます。他人ごとではなく、時にそんな体験を自分がしたりもするものです。そんな苦しみから解放されるように、その痛みが恵みに変わるように、理解されずに殉教の死を遂げた二人の使徒の取り次ぎを求めて祈りましょう。

12 In these days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.
13 When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;
15 Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Simon, who was called the Zealot;
16 Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.
17 He came down with them, and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases;
18 as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits, and they were being healed.
19 All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out of him and healed them all.

「ふたりの人が祈るために宮に上った。そのひとりはパリサイ人であり、もうひとりは取税人であった。
パリサイ人は立って、ひとりでこう祈った、『神よ、わたしはほかの人たちのような貪欲な者、不正な者、姦淫をする者ではなく、また、この取税人のような人間でもないことを感謝します。
わたしは一週に二度断食しており、全収入の十分の一をささげています』。
ところが、取税人は遠く離れて立ち、目を天にむけようともしないで、胸を打ちながら言った、『神様、罪人のわたしをおゆるしください』と。
あなたがたに言っておく。神に義とされて自分の家に帰ったのは、この取税人であって、あのパリサイ人ではなかった。おおよそ、自分を高くする者は低くされ、自分を低くする者は高くされるであろう」。

自分を義人だと自任して他人を見下げている人たちに対して、イエスはまたこの譬をお話しになった。
18:10
「ふたりの人が祈るために宮に上った。そのひとりはパリサイ人であり、もうひとりは取税人であった。
18:11
パリサイ人は立って、ひとりでこう祈った、『神よ、わたしはほかの人たちのような貪欲な者、不正な者、姦淫をする者ではなく、また、この取税人のような人間でもないことを感謝します。
18:12
わたしは一週に二度断食しており、全収入の十分の一をささげています』。
18:13
ところが、取税人は遠く離れて立ち、目を天にむけようともしないで、胸を打ちながら言った、『神様、罪人のわたしをおゆるしください』と。

Gospel: Luke 18:9-14
9 He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: ‘God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

15b For he is a God of justice,
who shows no partiality.
16 He shows no partiality to the weak
but hears the grievance of the oppressed.*
17 He does not forsake the cry of the orphan,

20 Those who serve God to please him are accepted;
their petition reaches the clouds.
21 The prayer of the lowly pierces the clouds;
it does not rest till it reaches its goal;
Nor will it withdraw till the Most High responds,

16 At my first defence, no one came to help me, but all left me. May it not be held against them.
17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

ルカによる福音 13:1-9
ちょうどその時、ある人々がきて、ピラトがガリラヤ人たちの血を流し、それを彼らの犠牲の血に混ぜたことを、イエスに知らせた。
そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「それらのガリラヤ人が、そのような災難にあったからといって、他のすべてのガリラヤ人以上に罪が深かったと思うのか。
あなたがたに言うが、そうではない。あなたがたも悔い改めなければ、みな同じように滅びるであろう。
また、シロアムの塔が倒れたためにおし殺されたあの十八人は、エルサレムの他の全住民以上に罪の負債があったと思うか。
あなたがたに言うが、そうではない。あなたがたも悔い改めなければ、みな同じように滅びるであろう」。
それから、この譬を語られた、「ある人が自分のぶどう園にいちじくの木を植えて置いたので、実を捜しにきたが見つからなかった。
そこで園丁に言った、『わたしは三年間も実を求めて、このいちじくの木のところにきたのだが、いまだに見あたらない。その木を切り倒してしまえ。なんのために、土地をむだにふさがせて置くのか』。
すると園丁は答えて言った、『ご主人様、ことしも、そのままにして置いてください。そのまわりを掘って肥料をやって見ますから。
それで来年実がなりましたら結構です。もしそれでもだめでしたら、切り倒してください』」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
ルカによる福音 13:1-9
ぶどう園の主人が植えたイチジクの実を探しに３年通っているというたとえ話が出てくる。次のように読み替えると味わいが違ってくるように思う。
ぶどう園の主人＝父なる神様。ぶどう園＝教会、または世界。イチジクの木＝私。園丁＝イエス様。父なる神様は私をこの世に、この教会に遣わされ、成果を待っておられる。しかし、何の成果も上げられない私。そんな私を見捨てないでと父なる神様に取り次ぐイエス様。そのイエス様はいろいろな手立てを準備して（御聖体、許しの秘蹟など）、わたしが実を結ぶよう取り計らってくださっている。
待ってくださる父なる神様、世話をしてくださるイエス様に感謝し、聖なる人となるよう、回心の道を歩み始めましょう！

律法が肉により無力になっているためになし得なかった事を、神はなし遂げて下さった。すなわち、御子を、罪の肉の様で罪のためにつかわし、肉において罪を罰せられたのである。

これは律法の要求が、肉によらず霊によって歩くわたしたちにおいて、満たされるためである。

こういうわけで、今やキリスト・イエスにある者は罪に定められることがない。

なぜなら、キリスト・イエスにあるいのちの御霊の法則は、罪と死との法則からあなたを解放したからである。

律法が肉により無力になっているためになし得なかった事を、神はなし遂げて下さった。すなわち、御子を、罪の肉の様で罪のためにつかわし、肉において罪を罰せられたのである。
8:4
これは律法の要求が、肉によらず霊によって歩くわたしたちにおいて、満たされるためである。
8:5
なぜなら、肉に従う者は肉のことを思い、霊に従う者は霊のことを思うからである。
8:6
肉の思いは死であるが、霊の思いは、いのちと平安とである。
8:7
なぜなら、肉の思いは神に敵するからである。すなわち、それは神の律法に従わず、否、従い得ないのである。

また、肉にある者は、神を喜ばせることができない。

しかし、神の御霊があなたがたの内に宿っているなら、あなたがたは肉におるのではなく、霊におるのである。もし、キリストの霊を持たない人がいるなら、その人はキリストのものではない。

もし、キリストがあなたがたの内におられるなら、からだは罪のゆえに死んでいても、霊は義のゆえに生きているのである。

もし、イエスを死人の中からよみがえらせたかたの御霊が、あなたがたの内に宿っているなら、キリスト・イエスを死人の中からよみがえらせたかたは、あなたがたの内に宿っている御霊によって、あなたがたの死ぬべきからだをも、生かしてくださるであろう。

Gospel : Luke 13:1-9
1 Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2 Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
4 Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
6 He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.
7 He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?’
8 He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilise it.
9 If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

Romans 8:1-11
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.*
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
3 For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;
4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.
8 Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
10 If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

イエスはまた群衆に対しても言われた、「あなたがたは、雲が西に起るのを見るとすぐ、にわか雨がやって来る、と言う。果してそのとおりになる。
それから南風が吹くと、暑つくなるだろう、と言う。果してそのとおりになる。
偽善者よ、あなたがたは天地の模様を見分けることを知りながら、どうして今の時代を見分けることができないのか。
また、あなたがたは、なぜ正しいことを自分で判断しないのか。
たとえば、あなたを訴える人と一緒に役人のところへ行くときには、途中でその人と和解するように努めるがよい。そうしないと、その人はあなたを裁判官のところへひっぱって行き、裁判官はあなたを獄吏に引き渡し、獄吏はあなたを獄に投げ込むであろう。
わたしは言って置く、最後の一レプタまでも支払ってしまうまでは、決してそこから出て来ることはできない」。

主イエスはこう云われる。一日も早く和解しなさい。互いに許し合いなさいと。私たちは、しばしば、人との関わりのなかで怒ったり、恨んだり、批判したり、嫌ったり、ときには憎むこともある。この人さえいなければと思うこともあるかも知れない。そうしたドロドロしたものをいっぱい抱えながら、私たちはみな裁きの座に向って人生という道を歩いている。怖いのは、私はいつ主の法廷に着くか知らないことである。確実なのは、その日は「思いがけない時」に来るということである。
主は言われる。日は暮れかけている。道にお前の長い影が射している。よく見なさい。もう一つの影がある。裁きの座で受ける判決は、もう出されて、お前が行く道に映っている。和解しなさい。いまがそのときだ。救いは「いま」にある。着いてからでは、もう手遅れだ。このみ言葉を、忘れず今日も歩もう。

54 He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.
55 When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.
56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?
57 Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?
58 For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
59 I tell you, you will by no means get out of there, until you have paid the very last penny.§”
§12:59: literally, lepton. A lepton is a very small brass Jewish coin worth half a Roman quadrans each, which is worth a quarter of the copper assarion. Lepta are worth less than 1% of an agricultural worker’s daily wages.

18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.

☆今日の『み言葉』
ルカによる福音 12:49-53
「私が来たのは、地上に火を投ずるためである」(ﾙｶ12.49)
悪と妥協しないイエスの気迫のこもった言葉です。悪の世界を焼き滅ぼし、不純なものを焼き尽くす激しい憤りのようなものを感じさせる言葉です。
でも私は「火を投ずるために来た」というイエスの言葉に「信仰の火」「聖霊の火」をまず連想します。まさにイエスが来られたのはこの世に信仰の灯火をともすため、聖霊による愛の炎、希望の炎、平和の炎を燃やすためだったのではないでしょうか。幸いに私達にもその火はもたらされました。その火が罪と妥協したり無気力な生活に流されたりしてかき消されることがないよう大事に守りたいものです。
私達の中に点火された火は、日々み言葉を聞き思い巡らすことによってますます燃え上がるのではないでしょうか。イエスと共にエマオへ向かった二人の弟子は感動しながら言いました。「道で話しておられた時、また聖書を説明してくださった時、私達の心は燃えていたではないか」(ﾙｶ24.32)。

このことを、わきまえているがよい。家の主人は、盗賊がいつごろ来るかわかっているなら、自分の家に押し入らせはしないであろう。
あなたがたも用意していなさい。思いがけない時に人の子が来るからである」。
するとペテロが言った、「主よ、この譬を話しておられるのはわたしたちのためなのですか。それとも、みんなの者のためなのですか」。
そこで主が言われた、「主人が、召使たちの上に立てて、時に応じて定めの食事をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い家令は、いったいだれであろう。
主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。
よく言っておくが、主人はその僕を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。
しかし、もしその僕が、主人の帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、男女の召使たちを打ちたたき、そして食べたり、飲んだりして酔いはじめるならば、
その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気がつかない時に帰って来るであろう。そして、彼を厳罰に処して、不忠実なものたちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。
主人のこころを知っていながら、それに従って用意もせず勤めもしなかった僕は、多くむち打たれるであろう。
しかし、知らずに打たれるようなことをした者は、打たれ方が少ないだろう。多く与えられた者からは多く求められ、多く任せられた者からは更に多く要求されるのである。

ルカによる福音 12:39-48
「人の子は思いがけない時に来る」。これはもちろん終末の出来事のことが言われているのであろう。しかしイエスが私たちのところに来られるというのは、日常の人間の時間の中に突然神の時が訪れる、そういうことも表していると言える。神の時、つまりイエスが私たちに働きかける時は突然訪れるのだ。
日常生活において、人間の計算を超えたところで、イエスは私たちのところに来られ、私たちに働きかけ、話しかけ、導いてくださる。時にはそれは、自分の無力さを痛感し自信やプライドが大きく揺らぐ時かもしれない。または優しさや愛に触れ、心が大きく動かされる時かもしれない。とにかく、イエスが私たちのところに来てくださるのは、私たちの予想を越えた思いがけない時なのだ。
私たちにとって大切なのは、このイエスの働きかけに気づけるかどうか、そしてそれに応えられるかどうかということだ。私たちは多くの場合、それに気づかずにただ嘆いたり、素通りしたりしていることが多いのかもしれない。いつイエス様が来られてもいつでも対応できるように、いつでも準備ができている生活を送ることが大切だ。勝負は日常生活にある。いつも神様とつながっている生活、神様を中心にした生き方、それを心がけていきたい。

46 then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him, and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.
47 That servant, who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,
48 but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not allowed his house to be broken into.
40 Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”
41 Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”
42 The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?

するとペテロが言った、「主よ、この譬を話しておられるのはわたしたちのためなのですか。それとも、みんなの者のためなのですか」。

そこで主が言われた、「主人が、召使たちの上に立てて、時に応じて定めの食事をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い家令は、いったいだれであろう。

主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。
12:44
よく言っておくが、主人はその僕を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。
12:45
しかし、もしその僕が、主人の帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、男女の召使たちを打ちたたき、そして食べたり、飲んだりして酔いはじめるならば、

その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気がつかない時に帰って来るであろう。そして、彼を厳罰に処して、不忠実なものたちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。

主人のこころを知っていながら、それに従って用意もせず勤めもしなかった僕は、多くむち打たれるであろう。

なぜなら、あなたがたは律法の下にあるのではなく、恵みの下にあるので、罪に支配されることはないからである。

それでは、どうなのか。律法の下にではなく、恵みの下にあるからといって、わたしたちは罪を犯すべきであろうか。断じてそうではない。

35 “Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.
36 Be like men watching for their lord, when he returns from the marriage feast; that, when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.
37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you, that he will dress himself, and make them recline, and will come and serve them.
38 They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch, and finds them so.

12 Therefore as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned.

Gospel : Luke 12:35-38
35 “Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.
36 Be like men watching for their lord, when he returns from the marriage feast; that, when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.
37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you, that he will dress himself, and make them recline, and will come and serve them.
38 They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch, and finds them so.

Romans 5:12, 15b, 17-19, 20b-21
12 Therefore as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned.
15b For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.
17 For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ.
18 So then as through one trespass, all men were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all men were justified to life.
19 For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.
20b but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly;
21 that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

☆今日の聖書物語 *
ルカによる福音 12:13-21
群衆の中のひとりがイエスに言った、「先生、わたしの兄弟に、遺産を分けてくれるようにおっしゃってください」。
彼に言われた、「人よ、だれがわたしをあなたがたの裁判人または分配人に立てたのか」。
それから人々にむかって言われた、「あらゆる貪欲に対してよくよく警戒しなさい。たといたくさんの物を持っていても、人のいのちは、持ち物にはよらないのである」。
そこで一つの譬を語られた、「ある金持の畑が豊作であった。
そこで彼は心の中で、『どうしようか、わたしの作物をしまっておく所がないのだが』と思いめぐらして
言った、『こうしよう。わたしの倉を取りこわし、もっと大きいのを建てて、そこに穀物や食糧を全部しまい込もう。
そして自分の魂に言おう。たましいよ、おまえには長年分の食糧がたくさんたくわえてある。さあ安心せよ、食え、飲め、楽しめ』。
すると神が彼に言われた、『愚かな者よ、あなたの魂は今夜のうちにも取り去られるであろう。そしたら、あなたが用意した物は、だれのものになるのか』。
自分のために宝を積んで神に対して富まない者は、これと同じである」。

☆今日の『み言葉』
ルカによる福音 12:13-21
私の視点と神様の視点と、随分違うなと思うことがある。当然ではあるが、神様は永遠の中で生きている。一方、物質的な必要はすぐに満たされ、あまり困ることのない生活を送る私たちは、刹那に生きるように誘われる。苦労せずとも今、自分が楽しめればいいではないかという声なき声を聞き続けている。イエスはそんな私達に、刹那に生きることの空しさ、私の存在はこの世での死で終わるものではなく、神様の前でずっと続いて行くのだということを教えてくださっている。
永遠の視点の中で、私たちのこの世での生活は特別な意味を持つ。私たちは一日一日、私の存在に「自分」を彫刻している。死を迎えるときその彫刻は完成するが、どのような彫刻になるかは私達にゆだねられている。磨きをかけるのも、修正をするのも、今なのだ。いつかは剥げてしまう価値を塗り重ねるのではなく、私を生かし、私の深い喜びとなる価値を私自身に刻んでいきたいものである。
