＜今日の聖書物語 *＞
（マタイによる福音 14:1-12）
そのころ、領主ヘロデはイエスのうわさを聞いて、
家来に言った、「あれはバプテスマのヨハネだ。死人の中からよみがえったのだ。それで、あのような力が彼のうちに働いているのだ」。
というのは、ヘロデは先に、自分の兄弟ピリポの妻ヘロデヤのことで、ヨハネを捕えて縛り、獄に入れていた。
すなわち、ヨハネはヘロデに、「その女をめとるのは、よろしくない」と言ったからである。
そこでヘロデはヨハネを殺そうと思ったが、群衆を恐れた。彼らがヨハネを預言者と認めていたからである。
さてヘロデの誕生日の祝に、ヘロデヤの娘がその席上で舞をまい、ヘロデを喜ばせたので、
彼女の願うものは、なんでも与えようと、彼は誓って約束までした。
すると彼女は母にそそのかされて、「バプテスマのヨハネの首を盆に載せて、ここに持ってきていただきとうございます」と言った。
王は困ったが、いったん誓ったのと、また列座の人たちの手前、それを与えるように命じ、

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
（マタイによる福音 14:1-12）
今日の福音において、洗礼者ヨハネは声もなく斬首される。
しかし、こうして死んでいくことが、彼のこれまで発してきた声、彼の預言者としての声を際立たせる。
預言者の使命は、神から受けた言葉をただスピーカーのように発するだけでなく、それを生きることだ。
しかし、それはすべての預言者がそうであったよう迫害を受けることを意味する。
彼が準備した、後から来られる最大の預言者である方もそのように生き、死んでいく。

Gospel : Matthew 14:1-12
1 At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus,
2 and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptiser. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him.”
3 For Herod had laid hold of John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.
4 For John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
5 When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
6 But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced amongst them and pleased Herod.
7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask.
8 She, being prompted by her mother, said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptiser.”
9 The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths, and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,
10 and he sent and beheaded John in the prison.
11 His head was brought on a platter, and given to the young lady: and she brought it to her mother.
12 His disciples came, and took the body, and buried it; and they went and told Jesus.

Leviticus 25:1, 8-17
1 The LORD said to Moses in Mount Sinai,
8 “‘You shall count off seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; and there shall be to you the days of seven Sabbaths of years, even forty-nine years.
9 Then you shall sound the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month. On the Day of Atonement you shall sound the trumpet throughout all your land.
10 You shall make the fiftieth year holy, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee to you; and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family.
11 That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee to you. In it you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself, nor gather from the undressed vines.
12 For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you. You shall eat of its increase out of the field.
13 “‘In this Year of Jubilee each of you shall return to his property.
14 “‘If you sell anything to your neighbour, or buy from your neighbour, you shall not wrong one another.
15 According to the number of years after the Jubilee you shall buy from your neighbour. According to the number of years of the crops he shall sell to you.
16 According to the length of the years you shall increase its price, and according to the shortness of the years you shall diminish its price; for he is selling the number of the crops to you.
17 You shall not wrong one another; but you shall fear your God: for I am the LORD your God.

そして郷里に行き、会堂で人々を教えられたところ、彼らは驚いて言った、「この人は、この知恵とこれらの力あるわざとを、どこで習ってきたのか。
この人は大工の子ではないか。母はマリヤといい、兄弟たちは、ヤコブ、ヨセフ、シモン、ユダではないか。
またその姉妹たちもみな、わたしたちと一緒にいるではないか。こんな数々のことを、いったい、どこで習ってきたのか」。
こうして人々はイエスにつまずいた。しかし、イエスは言われた、「預言者は、自分の郷里や自分の家以外では、どこででも敬われないことはない」。
そして彼らの不信仰のゆえに、そこでは力あるわざを、あまりなさらなかった。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
（マタイによる福音 13:54-58）
今日の福音で、私たちはまたもや、拒絶の場面に遭遇します。
イエスは故郷の村に帰っておられます。昔からの友人や同郷の人々と一緒です。
きっと、その日を待ちわびておられたことでしょう。
主のすべてのすばらしいみ業、人々への神の愛、神の力を、皆と分かち合いたいと心の底から願っておられたでしょう。
しかし、人々の信仰のなさにイエスは驚きます。
イエスは、故郷で何もおできになりませんでした。
イエスに笑顔を向ける人はいませんでした！
どれほどショックだったことでしょう。
もちろん、人々の拒絶はこの時だけではありません。
この反応は、小さな村だけのものではありません。
神が遣わされた方への、イスラエル全体の反応です。
人々は、自分たちの狭い世界を超えた先を見ることができず、耳にしたことに憤慨します。
彼らは狭量な心で見たことだけを信じます。
すなわち、目の前にいるのは、才能に豊かに恵まれた青年ですが、あくまでも大工の息子にすぎないのです！
人々はその先を見ることができません。
すなわち、神の子を。
彼らは受け入れることができません。
神が人となること、神が貧しく、素朴で謙遜な生活を送ることなど、根本的に除外されます。
ナザレの人々は、神がどのように行動され、考えられ、生活されるか、神ご自身よりも自分たちのほうが知っていると思ったようです。
彼らを盲目にするのは、「私はわかっている」というメンタリティーです！
パウロとなる前のサウロはこのような姿勢でした。
自分の正しさだけを信じ、自分と違う人々、考え方の違う人々を迫害せずにはいられませんでした。
私はどうでしょうか？
私たちはそのような姿勢で生きてはいないでしょうか？
イエスよ、私自身から、私自身の正しさ、偏見から私を自由にしてください！

55 Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?
56 Aren’t all of his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all of these things?”
57 They were offended by him.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honour, except in his own country, and in his own house.”
58 He didn’t do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

大ぜいのユダヤ人が、その兄弟のことで、マルタとマリヤとを慰めようとしてきていた。
マルタはイエスがこられたと聞いて、出迎えに行ったが、マリヤは家ですわっていた。
マルタはイエスに言った、「主よ、もしあなたがここにいて下さったなら、わたしの兄弟は死ななかったでしょう。
しかし、あなたがどんなことをお願いになっても、神はかなえて下さることを、わたしは今でも存じています」。
イエスはマルタに言われた、「あなたの兄弟はよみがえるであろう」。
マルタは言った、「終りの日のよみがえりの時よみがえることは、存じています」。
イエスは彼女に言われた、「わたしはよみがえりであり、命である。わたしを信じる者は、たとい死んでも生きる。
また、生きていて、わたしを信じる者は、いつまでも死なない。あなたはこれを信じるか」。
マルタはイエスに言った、「主よ、信じます。あなたがこの世にきたるべきキリスト、神の御子であると信じております」。

ところが、マルタは接待のことで忙がしくて心をとりみだし、イエスのところにきて言った、「主よ、妹がわたしだけに接待をさせているのを、なんともお思いになりませんか。わたしの手伝いをするように妹におっしゃってください」。
主は答えて言われた、「マルタよ、マルタよ、あなたは多くのことに心を配って思いわずらっている。
しかし、無くてならぬものは多くはない。いや、一つだけである。マリヤはその良い方を選んだのだ。そしてそれは、彼女から取り去ってはならないものである」。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
（ヨハネによる福音 11:19-27）、または、（ルカによる福音 10:38-42）
イエスさまは、ラザロが死んで四日目にラザロ家をようやく訪れました。
マリアは「あなたが神にお願いになることは、何でもかなえられると、私は確信しています。」と言います。
「私は復活であり、いのちである・・・」とのイエスさまの言葉を聴いて「あなたが、この世に来られるはずの神の子、メシアであることを、私は信じております」と100点満点の答えをした彼女でした。
しかしラザロのお墓の前では、“四日”という現実の前に、石を取り除けるのをためらう彼女でした。
彼女の“頭の中の信仰”と“現実の生活の中の信仰”のちぐはぐさは、私たち人間誰しもが持っているものです。
大切なのは“信仰の弱さ”を気づいても、ガッカリしないでイエス様を見続けることです。

Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus

Gospel : John 11:19-27
19 Many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.
20 Then when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary stayed in the house.
21 Therefore Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.
22 Even now I know that, whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”
23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
26 Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, God’s Son, he who comes into the world.”

19 He spread the covering over the tent, and put the roof of the tabernacle above on it, as the LORD commanded Moses.
20 He took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the poles on the ark, and put the mercy seat above on the ark.
21 He brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony, as the LORD commanded Moses.
34 Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the LORD’s glory filled the tabernacle.
35 Moses wasn’t able to enter into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and the LORD’s glory filled the tabernacle.
36 When the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward, throughout all their journeys;
37 but if the cloud wasn’t taken up, then they didn’t travel until the day that it was taken up.
38 For the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

＜今日の聖書物語 *＞
（マタイによる福音 13:44-46）
天国は、畑に隠してある宝のようなものである。人がそれを見つけると隠しておき、喜びのあまり、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてその畑を買うのである。
また天国は、良い真珠を捜している商人のようなものである。
高価な真珠一個を見いだすと、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてこれを買うのである。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
（マタイによる福音 13:44-46）
イエスは数々の例え話を通して『神の国』の奥義について話されたのです。
その目的は何だったのでしょうか。
イエスは神の国の為に生まれ、生き、死んだのです。
イエスの人生にとって神の国は中心的や絶対的な課題だったのです。
その為、イエスの例え話は、日常の経験から出発して、秘められた真理を理解させるようにするもので、今まで五感で感じられなかった事を感じるようにさせるのです。
確かに、この世界では、大変な値打ちを持つ宝物が存在しているのに、知られないままでいる事もあるでしょう。
同様に天の国も計り知れない価値が存在しているのに、その価値が知られないでいる事もありえます。
その価値がはっきり分かるのは、聖霊の力によって、私達の内なる神の御働きに私達が同意する時だけです。
イエスは忍耐強く私達の自由を尊重し、埋められた宝や隠された真珠のように、自分で真理を発見するように導いてくださいます。
宝を手にすれば、全く新しい人生が開けます。
天の国を見いだす者は大きな喜びを体験し、あらゆる宝の中で最高の宝を手に入れる事になります。
カトリック教会にとって七つの秘跡は素晴らしい宝の隠れた畑のようなものです。
この秘跡には神の愛の働きが一杯含まれています。
人間を動かすのは『愛』と『飢え』です。
もう一つは『王』、即ち権威、権力が人を動かします。
しかし、神の愛が歴史をつくったのです。
最高の宝である愛を目指して行動していきましょう。
マタイは宝と真珠の二つの例えを結び付け、一つの比喩のようにしています。
イエスは天の国を用例としてではなく、宝そのものとして述べられました。
つまり、全てに勝って神を求め、神の為に全てを犠牲にしてもよいとう希望と勇気に満ちた決意を述べようとしています。

31 Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them.
32 Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them all the commandments that the LORD had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.
33 When Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
35 The children of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

それからイエスは、群衆をあとに残して家にはいられた。すると弟子たちは、みもとにきて言った、「畑の毒麦の譬を説明してください」。
イエスは答えて言われた、「良い種をまく者は、人の子である。
畑は世界である。良い種と言うのは御国の子たちで、毒麦は悪い者の子たちである。
それをまいた敵は悪魔である。収穫とは世の終りのことで、刈る者は御使たちである。
だから、毒麦が集められて火で焼かれるように、世の終りにもそのとおりになるであろう。
人の子はその使たちをつかわし、つまずきとなるものと不法を行う者とを、ことごとく御国からとり集めて、
炉の火に投げ入れさせるであろう。そこでは泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。
そのとき、義人たちは彼らの父の御国で、太陽のように輝きわたるであろう。耳のある者は聞くがよい。

「畑によい種を蒔くのは人の子」すなはち、ご自分のこととイエス様は仰っています。この世に生まれながら悪い人はいません。
一人残らず神様の御心によって生まれてくるのです。
神様は理性と自由意志とを備えた霊魂を人間に与えてくださいました。
これによって人間は進歩し，発展して行けるのですが、神様を憎む悪魔は人間を神様から引き離そうとやっきになっているのです。
その結果、ある人たちは、本来より良いほうを選ぶための自由意志を悪用して、神様にさからっているのです。
それでも神様は人を見捨てず、いろいろな方法でたち直そうとしますが、自分の方から神様をすててしまう者には「燃え盛る炉の中に投げ込ませる」と言わざるをえないのです。
私たちはいつも神様に忠実であるように努めましょう。

Gospel : Matthew 13:36-43
36 Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”
37 He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,
38 the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.
40 As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burnt with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.
41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

7 Now Moses used to take the tent and to pitch it outside the camp, far away from the camp, and he called it “The Tent of Meeting.” Everyone who sought the LORD went out to the Tent of Meeting, which was outside the camp.

9 When Moses entered into the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, stood at the door of the Tent, and spoke with Moses.

11 The LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn’t depart from the Tent.
34:5b and stood with him there, and proclaimed the LORD’s name.
6 The LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, “The LORD! the LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
7 keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children’s children, on the third and on the fourth generation.”
8 Moses hurried and bowed his head towards the earth, and worshipped.
9 He said, “If now I have found favour in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go amongst us; although this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”
28 He was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Gospel : Matthew 13:36-43
36 Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”
37 He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,
38 the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.
40 As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burnt with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.
41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

モーセが出て、幕屋に行く時には、民はみな立ちあがり、モーセが幕屋にはいるまで、おのおのその天幕の入口に立って彼を見送った。

モーセが幕屋にはいると、雲の柱が下って幕屋の入口に立った。そして主はモーセと語られた。

民はみな幕屋の入口に雲の柱が立つのを見ると、立っておのおの自分の天幕の入口で礼拝した。

それはどんな種よりも小さいが、成長すると、野菜の中でいちばん大きくなり、空の鳥がきて、その枝に宿るほどの木になる」。
またほかの譬を彼らに語られた、「天国は、パン種のようなものである。女がそれを取って三斗の粉の中に混ぜると、全体がふくらんでくる」。
イエスはこれらのことをすべて、譬で群衆に語られた。譬によらないでは何事も彼らに語られなかった。
これは預言者によって言われたことが、成就するためである、
「わたしは口を開いて譬を語り、
世の初めから隠されていることを語り出そう」。

皆さんもご存じのようにマタイ福音書で「天の国」というのは、「神の国」のことで、この世界を越えたところにある天国という意味ではありません。
神の国というのは「神の支配」という意味であり、福音書によれば、すでにこの世の中において始まっているものとしてとらえられています。
「神の支配」すなわち神の愛と正義が支配するような状態というのは、この世界の中で始まっており、私たちキリスト者はそれを広めていくように召されています。
人間がこの世界の中でよきわざをなすとき、そこに神の国が実現していきます。
そして、神の力と支えに信頼するならば、神の国はからし種が成長して大木になるように、パン種がパン生地をふくらませるように成長していくのです。

ヨシュアは民の呼ばわる声を聞いて、モーセに言った、「宿営の中に戦いの声がします」。

そこでわたしは『だれでも、金を持っている者は、それを取りはずしなさい』と彼らに言いました。彼らがそれをわたしに渡したので、わたしがこれを火に投げ入れると、この子牛が出てきたのです」。

あくる日、モーセは民に言った、「あなたがたは大いなる罪を犯した。それで今、わたしは主のもとに上って行く。あなたがたの罪を償うことが、できるかも知れない」。

31 He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field;
32 which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.”
33 He spoke another parable to them. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, until it was all leavened.”
34 Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them,
35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
“I will open my mouth in parables;
I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”

21 Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
22 Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
23 For they said to me, ‘Make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’
24 I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:’ so they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”

Gospel : Matthew 13:31-35
31 He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field;
32 which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.”
33 He spoke another parable to them. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, until it was all leavened.”
34 Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them,
35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
“I will open my mouth in parables;
I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”

15 Moses turned, and went down from the mountain, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand; tablets that were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.
16 The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tables.
17 When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is the noise of war in the camp.”
18 He said, “It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory. It is not the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”
19 As soon as he came near to the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing. Then Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.
20 He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
21 Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
22 Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
23 For they said to me, ‘Make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’
24 I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:’ so they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”

そののち、イエスはガリラヤの海、すなわち、テベリヤ湖の向こう岸へ渡られた。
すると、大ぜいの群衆がイエスについてきた。病人たちになさっていたしるしを見たからである。
イエスは山に登って、弟子たちと一緒にそこで座につかれた。
時に、ユダヤ人の祭である過越が間近になっていた。
イエスは目をあげ、大ぜいの群衆が自分の方に集まって来るのを見て、ピリポに言われた、「どこからパンを買ってきて、この人々に食べさせようか」。
これはピリポをためそうとして言われたのであって、ご自分ではしようとすることを、よくご承知であった。
すると、ピリポはイエスに答えた、「二百デナリのパンがあっても、めいめいが少しずついただくにも足りますまい」。
弟子のひとり、シモン・ペテロの兄弟アンデレがイエスに言った、
「ここに、大麦のパン五つと、さかな二ひきとを持っている子供がいます。しかし、こんなに大ぜいの人では、それが何になりましょう」。
イエスは「人々をすわらせなさい」と言われた。その場所には草が多かった。そこにすわった男の数は五千人ほどであった。
そこで、イエスはパンを取り、感謝してから、すわっている人々に分け与え、また、さかなをも同様にして、彼らの望むだけ分け与えられた。
人々がじゅうぶんに食べたのち、イエスは弟子たちに言われた、「少しでもむだにならないように、パンくずのあまりを集めなさい」。
そこで彼らが集めると、五つの大麦のパンを食べて残ったパンくずは、十二のかごにいっぱいになった。
人々はイエスのなさったこのしるしを見て、「ほんとうに、この人こそ世にきたるべき預言者である」と言った。
イエスは人々がきて、自分をとらえて王にしようとしていると知って、ただひとり、また山に退かれた。

Gospel : John 6:1-15
1 After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.
2 A great multitude followed him, because they saw his signs which he did on those who were sick.
3 Jesus went up into the mountain, and he sat there with his disciples.
4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.
5 Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?”
6 This he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.
7 Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that everyone of them may receive a little.”
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,
9 “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these amongst so many?”
10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in that place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 Jesus took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.
12 When they were filled, he said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.”
13 So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.
14 When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”
15 Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

2 Kings 4:42-44
42 A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God bread some of the first fruits: twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of grain in his sack. He said, “Give to the people, that they may eat.”
43 His servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?”
But he said, “Give the people, that they may eat; for the LORD says, ‘They will eat, and will have some left over.’”
44 So he set it before them, and they ate, and had some left over, according to the LORD’s word.

Ephesians 4:1-6
1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,
2 with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love;
3 being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all.

（マタイによる福音 13:24-30）
また、ほかの譬を彼らに示して言われた、「天国は、良い種を自分の畑にまいておいた人のようなものである。
人々が眠っている間に敵がきて、麦の中に毒麦をまいて立ち去った。
芽がはえ出て実を結ぶと、同時に毒麦もあらわれてきた。
僕たちがきて、家の主人に言った、『ご主人様、畑におまきになったのは、良い種ではありませんでしたか。どうして毒麦がはえてきたのですか』。
主人は言った、『それは敵のしわざだ』。すると僕たちが言った『では行って、それを抜き集めましょうか』。
彼は言った、『いや、毒麦を集めようとして、麦も一緒に抜くかも知れない。
収穫まで、両方とも育つままにしておけ。収穫の時になったら、刈る者に、まず毒麦を集めて束にして焼き、麦の方は集めて倉に入れてくれ、と言いつけよう』」。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
（マタイによる福音 13:24-30）
確認しましょう。
まず、天の国は死後の世界ではありません。
完成を見るには｢世の終わり｣を待たなければならないとしても、今、私たちが実感できるものとして天の国(＝神の国)はあるはずです。
しかし、それは私たちが抱いている幻想とは裏腹に｢悪い者が紛れ込んでいる｣だけでなく、この状態が世の終わりまで続く…というのです。
これは、どういう事でしょうか。
この例え話を読んだとき、自分は一体どちらに当たると考えましたか。
良い麦でしょうか。
毒麦でしょうか。
あるいは、良い麦と信じているが、実際には悪い麦なのでは…と、自信を失っているのでしょうか。
｢毒麦を集めるとき、麦まで一緒に抜くかもしれない｣ということは、麦と毒麦は似ているということです。
見分けがつかないということです。
ですから、私たちがすべきことは、しっかりと見分けがつくように｢良い実を結ぶ｣こと。
そして、自分には見分ける力が無いにも拘らず、他人を｢毒麦｣と決め付けたりしないことです。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
（マタイによる福音 13:24-30）
確認しましょう。
まず、天の国は死後の世界ではありません。
完成を見るには｢世の終わり｣を待たなければならないとしても、今、私たちが実感できるものとして天の国(＝神の国)はあるはずです。
しかし、それは私たちが抱いている幻想とは裏腹に｢悪い者が紛れ込んでいる｣だけでなく、この状態が世の終わりまで続く…というのです。
これは、どういう事でしょうか。
この例え話を読んだとき、自分は一体どちらに当たると考えましたか。
良い麦でしょうか。
毒麦でしょうか。
あるいは、良い麦と信じているが、実際には悪い麦なのでは…と、自信を失っているのでしょうか。
｢毒麦を集めるとき、麦まで一緒に抜くかもしれない｣ということは、麦と毒麦は似ているということです。
見分けがつかないということです。
ですから、私たちがすべきことは、しっかりと見分けがつくように｢良い実を結ぶ｣こと。
そして、自分には見分ける力が無いにも拘らず、他人を｢毒麦｣と決め付けたりしないことです。

24 He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field,
25 but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds* also amongst the wheat, and went away.
26 But when the blade sprang up and produced fruit, then the darnel weeds appeared also.
27 The servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did these darnel weeds come from?’
28 “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’
“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them up?’
29 “But he said, ‘No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

7 He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “All that the LORD has spoken will we do, and be obedient.”
8 Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you concerning all these words.”

そこで、種まきの譬を聞きなさい。
だれでも御国の言を聞いて悟らないならば、悪い者がきて、その人の心にまかれたものを奪いとって行く。道ばたにまかれたものというのは、そういう人のことである。
石地にまかれたものというのは、御言を聞くと、すぐに喜んで受ける人のことである。
その中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけであって、御言のために困難や迫害が起ってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。
また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、御言を聞くが、世の心づかいと富の惑わしとが御言をふさぐので、実を結ばなくなる人のことである。
また、良い地にまかれたものとは、御言を聞いて悟る人のことであって、そういう人が実を結び、百倍、あるいは六十倍、あるいは三十倍にもなるのである」。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

きょうの福音は種まきの喩えの解釈に当る部分である。
主イエスは人々に多くの喩えを語られたが、その解釈をされたのは、この種まきの喩えと毒麦の喩えだけである。
ある聖書学者は、これはイエスのものではなく、おそらく非常に古い初期の教会の解釈がここにある、いうなれば初期の教会の事情があると考えている。
それはともあれ、この喩えの真意は聞くことの重要性であろう。
三通りの聞き方があげられている。
み言葉を心の中に受け入れても育たないことがあるのだ。
「道端」、「石地」、「茨の中」に蒔かれた種である。
一時的な情熱、この世のものへのわずらい、迫害の恐れ、などが、一度は喜んで受けいれたみ言葉を枯渇させてしまうのである。
戦後数年、わが国でもキリスト教に帰依する者は多かった。
日本はキリスト教国になるとまで思われたほどであった。
しかし経済的に奇跡の復興を遂げていく間に、その熱狂はいつしか消えて、かわりに今の無関心が残った。
それでも70代、80代の世代に洗礼を受けた人々は多いはずだ。
主イエスは、この人々が帰ってくる日を待っておられる。
そのために私たちに何ができるだろうか。
小教区の司牧の目を、ここにもしっかり向けていきたい。

そこで、種まきの譬を聞きなさい。

だれでも御国の言を聞いて悟らないならば、悪い者がきて、その人の心にまかれたものを奪いとって行く。道ばたにまかれたものというのは、そういう人のことである。
13:20
石地にまかれたものというのは、御言を聞くと、すぐに喜んで受ける人のことである。
13:21
その中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけであって、御言のために困難や迫害が起ってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。
13:22
また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、御言を聞くが、世の心づかいと富の惑わしとが御言をふさぐので、実を結ばなくなる人のことである。

（ヨハネによる福音 20:1-2, 11-18）
さて、一週の初めの日に、朝早くまだ暗いうちに、マグダラのマリヤが墓に行くと、墓から石がとりのけてあるのを見た。
そこで走って、シモン・ペテロとイエスが愛しておられた、もうひとりの弟子のところへ行って、彼らに言った、「だれかが、主を墓から取り去りました。どこへ置いたのか、わかりません」。
しかし、マリヤは墓の外に立って泣いていた。そして泣きながら、身をかがめて墓の中をのぞくと、
白い衣を着たふたりの御使が、イエスの死体のおかれていた場所に、ひとりは頭の方に、ひとりは足の方に、すわっているのを見た。
すると、彼らはマリヤに、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか」と言った。マリヤは彼らに言った、「だれかが、わたしの主を取り去りました。そして、どこに置いたのか、わからないのです」。
そう言って、うしろをふり向くと、そこにイエスが立っておられるのを見た。しかし、それがイエスであることに気がつかなかった。
イエスは女に言われた、「女よ、なぜ泣いているのか。だれを捜しているのか」。マリヤは、その人が園の番人だと思って言った、「もしあなたが、あのかたを移したのでしたら、どこへ置いたのか、どうぞ、おっしゃって下さい。わたしがそのかたを引き取ります」。
イエスは彼女に「マリヤよ」と言われた。マリヤはふり返って、イエスにむかってヘブル語で「ラボニ」と言った。それは、先生という意味である。
イエスは彼女に言われた、「わたしにさわってはいけない。わたしは、まだ父のみもとに上っていないのだから。ただ、わたしの兄弟たちの所に行って、『わたしは、わたしの父またあなたがたの父であって、わたしの神またあなたがたの神であられるかたのみもとへ上って行く』と、彼らに伝えなさい」。
マグダラのマリヤは弟子たちのところに行って、自分が主に会ったこと、またイエスがこれこれのことを自分に仰せになったことを、報告した。

マグダラのマリアと言えば、映画「ダビンチコード」で世の中でもかなり認識されるようになった聖女です。
大昔から、復活したイエスに一番初めに出会った人として、尊敬されると同時に嫉妬され、人間のごく自然な傾きから、イエスとマグダラのマリアのロマンスを語られもしてきました。
今日の朗読である復活のシーンは、とても心を動かされるところです。
復活したイエスを園丁だと思っているマリアが、自分の名前を呼ばれてイエスだと気づく。
私たちは、何か特別なことの中に真実があるとどこかで思ってしまっているような気がします。
しかし、本当に大切なことは特別なこと以上に日常の中にあり、日常の中で何気なく繰り返されていることに真実があることが多いようです。
数え切れないほどイエスから呼ばれたであろう自分の名前を呼ばれたとき、マリアが今自分が出会っているのが誰であるのかに気づいたということは、大切なことに気づく鍵はやはり日常の中にあることを、私たちに教えているように思われます。
そして、私たちも、何か特別なときであっても、日常で出会っているのと同じように神と出会うことになるのではないでしょうか。

1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.
2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!”
11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb,
12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”
14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?”
She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!” which is to say, “Teacher!”

＜今日の聖書物語 *＞
（マタイによる福音 13:1-9）
その日、イエスは家を出て、海べにすわっておられた。
ところが、大ぜいの群衆がみもとに集まったので、イエスは舟に乗ってすわられ、群衆はみな岸に立っていた。
イエスは譬で多くの事を語り、こう言われた、「見よ、種まきが種をまきに出て行った。
まいているうちに、道ばたに落ちた種があった。すると、鳥がきて食べてしまった。
ほかの種は土の薄い石地に落ちた。そこは土が深くないので、すぐ芽を出したが、
日が上ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。
ほかの種はいばらの地に落ちた。すると、いばらが伸びて、ふさいでしまった。
ほかの種は良い地に落ちて実を結び、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍にもなった。
耳のある者は聞くがよい」。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
（マタイによる福音 13:1-9）
「種を蒔く人」の喩えは、いつ読んでも、何回読んでも、よく考えさせられる喩え話ですね。
せっかく蒔かれる種ではありますが、道端や石地や、茨の中に落ちたりして、結局よい土の上に落ちることができるものは少なく、百倍にもなるものも少ない・・・。
だとすると、多くの実が結ばれるようにするためには、どうしたらいいのでしょうか。
種を蒔く人は、どこに種を蒔くかにもっと気をつけるべきだ、とも言えますが、たぶん第一の秘訣は、もっと多くの種を蒔く、というところにあるのではないかと思います。
毎日の生活の中で私たちが行う、励みの言葉、正直な微笑み、人のための苦労、模範になる勤勉さ、円満な人間関係など、それらの態度そのものが、私たちの蒔いている種です。
その種はどこに落ちているのかよくわかりませんが、その種の量が多ければ多いほど、それだけ百倍になるものが増えることはまちがいない・・・・それは疑いもなく、確実なことだと、そう思います。
