＜今日の聖書物語 *＞

（ルカによる福音 4:31-37）

　それから、イエスはガリラヤの町カペナウムに下って行かれた。そして安息日になると、人々をお教えになったが、

　その言葉に権威があったので、彼らはその教に驚いた。

　すると、汚れた悪霊につかれた人が会堂にいて、大声で叫び出した、

　「ああ、ナザレのイエスよ、あなたはわたしたちとなんの係わりがあるのです。わたしたちを滅ぼしにこられたのですか。あなたがどなたであるか、わかっています。神の聖者です」。

　イエスはこれをしかって、「黙れ、この人から出て行け」と言われた。すると悪霊は彼を人なかに投げ倒し、傷は負わせずに、その人から出て行った。

　みんなの者は驚いて、互に語り合って言った、「これは、いったい、なんという言葉だろう。権威と力とをもって汚れた霊に命じられると、彼らは出て行くのだ」。

　こうしてイエスの評判が、その地方のいたる所にひろまっていった。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（ルカによる福音 4:31-37）

　「こうして、イエスのうわさは、辺り一帯に広まった」と書かれていますが、なぜでしょう。

それはつまり、「その言葉には権威があったから」です。

ところが、いざ私たちがイエスの言葉を語ろうとしたとき、いつの間にかその権威がどこかへ消えてしまっているのを感じることがないでしょうか。

何が間違っているのかよく分らないうちに、イエスのことが伝わらなくなっている。

イエスの言葉の権威はイエス自身から出ているので、権威の無い私たちが同じことを語っても、その言葉に権威が無いのは当たり前のことです。

　それでも、私たちは「イエスのことを伝えたい」という欲求を、常に持っているものです。

では、どうしたらイエスを伝えることができるのでしょうか。

…それは、自分の言葉で語ることです。

イエスのうわさを広めた人々は、イエスの教えも伝えたでしょうが、何よりも「自分が体験したイエス」を伝えたに違いありません。

同様に、私たちが自分の体験を自分の言葉で語るとき、その言葉には力が宿ることでしょう。

どうやら借りてきた言葉ではダメなようです。

「それでは、あなたがたはわたしのことを何者だというのか」

　人々が平和だ無事だと言っているその矢先に、ちょうど妊婦に産みの苦しみが臨むように、突如として滅びが彼らをおそって来る。そして、それからのがれることは決してできない。

Gospel : Luke 4:31-37

31 He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,

32 and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.

33 In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

34 saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”

35 Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no harm.

36 Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

37 News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6, 9-11

1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.

2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.

3 For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.

4 But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

5 You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,

6 so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.

9 For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

＜今日の聖書物語 *＞

（ルカによる福音 4:16-30）

　それからお育ちになったナザレに行き、安息日にいつものように会堂にはいり、聖書を朗読しようとして立たれた。

　すると預言者イザヤの書が手渡されたので、その書を開いて、こう書いてある所を出された、

　「主の御霊がわたしに宿っている。
貧しい人々に福音を宣べ伝えさせるために、
わたしを聖別してくださったからである。
主はわたしをつかわして、
囚人が解放され、盲人の目が開かれることを告げ知らせ、
打ちひしがれている者に自由を得させ、

　主のめぐみの年を告げ知らせるのである」。

　イエスは聖書を巻いて係りの者に返し、席に着かれると、会堂にいるみんなの者の目がイエスに注がれた。

　そこでイエスは、「この聖句は、あなたがたが耳にしたこの日に成就した」と説きはじめられた。

　すると、彼らはみなイエスをほめ、またその口から出て来るめぐみの言葉に感嘆して言った、「この人はヨセフの子ではないか」。

　そこで彼らに言われた、「あなたがたは、きっと『医者よ、自分自身をいやせ』ということわざを引いて、カペナウムで行われたと聞いていた事を、あなたの郷里のこの地でもしてくれ、と言うであろう」。

　それから言われた、「よく言っておく。預言者は、自分の郷里では歓迎されないものである。

　よく聞いておきなさい。エリヤの時代に、三年六か月にわたって天が閉じ、イスラエル全土に大ききんがあった際、そこには多くのやもめがいたのに、

　エリヤはそのうちのだれにもつかわされないで、ただシドンのサレプタにいるひとりのやもめにだけつかわされた。

　また預言者エリシャの時代に、イスラエルには多くのらい病人がいたのに、そのうちのひとりもきよめられないで、ただシリヤのナアマンだけがきよめられた」。

　会堂にいた者たちはこれを聞いて、みな憤りに満ち、

　立ち上がってイエスを町の外へ追い出し、その町が建っている丘のがけまでひっぱって行って、突き落そうとした。

　しかし、イエスは彼らのまん中を通り抜けて、去って行かれた。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（ルカによる福音 4:16-30）

　「貧しい人に福音を告げ知らせるために、わたしを遣わされた。」

　ルカ福音書は貧しき人・弱い人に焦点を当て、イエスの救いの恵みを伝えようとしている。

　聖フランシスコ・ザビエルはインドで“あんじろう”と出会い、日本の布教を思い立ったと言われる。

そのとき、“あんじろう”は「日本人は教える人の知識の深さを測るため、いろいろと質問してくるだろう。

また、教えていることが本物であるかを推し量るため、その人の行いをよく観察するであろう。

そして、伝えていることとその行いが一致するとき、人は信じるであろう。」と伝えたと言われている。

　教えていることとその行いが一つになっていたので、人々はイエスに反論することができなかった。

イエスのもとに送り出されたわたし達は、イエスのことばを携え、行いを一つにするとき、真にイエスの救いの喜びを伝えることになるのではないでしょうか。

そのような営みを目指しつつ・・・。

Gospel : Luke 4:16-30

16 He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

17 The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted,
to proclaim release to the captives,
recovering of sight to the blind,
to deliver those who are crushed,

19 and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

20 He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21 He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

22 All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”

23 He said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this parable, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’”

24 He said, “Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.

25 But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.

26 Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.

27 There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian.”

28 They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.

29 They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.

30 But he, passing through the middle of them, went his way.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

13 But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

15 For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left to the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep.

16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first,

17 then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.

18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

＜今日の聖書物語 *＞

（マルコによる福音 7:1-8, 14-15 21-23）

　さて、パリサイ人と、ある律法学者たちとが、エルサレムからきて、イエスのもとに集まった。

　そして弟子たちのうちに、不浄な手、すなわち洗わない手で、パンを食べている者があるのを見た。

　もともと、パリサイ人をはじめユダヤ人はみな、昔の人の言伝えをかたく守って、念入りに手を洗ってからでないと、食事をしない。

　また市場から帰ったときには、身を清めてからでないと、食事をせず、なおそのほかにも、杯、鉢、銅器を洗うことなど、昔から受けついでかたく守っている事が、たくさんあった。

　そこで、パリサイ人と律法学者たちとは、イエスに尋ねた、「なぜ、あなたの弟子たちは、昔の人の言伝えに従って歩まないで、不浄な手でパンを食べるのですか」。

　イエスは言われた、「イザヤは、あなたがた偽善者について、こう書いているが、それは適切な預言である、
『この民は、口さきではわたしを敬うが、
その心はわたしから遠く離れている。

　人間のいましめを教として教え、
無意味にわたしを拝んでいる』。

　あなたがたは、神のいましめをさしおいて、人間の言伝えを固執している」。

　それから、イエスは再び群衆を呼び寄せて言われた、「あなたがたはみんな、わたしの言うことを聞いて悟るがよい。

　すべて外から人の中にはいって、人をけがしうるものはない。かえって、人の中から出てくるものが、人をけがすのである。

　すなわち内部から、人の心の中から、悪い思いが出て来る。不品行、盗み、殺人、

　姦淫、貪欲、邪悪、欺き、好色、妬み、誹り、高慢、愚痴。

　これらの悪はすべて内部から出てきて、人をけがすのである」。

　イスラエルよ、いま、わたしがあなたがたに教える定めと、おきてとを聞いて、これを行いなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたは生きることができ、あなたがたの先祖の神、主が賜わる地にはいって、それを自分のものとすることができよう。

　わたしがあなたがたに命じる言葉に付け加えてはならない。また減らしてはならない。わたしが命じるあなたがたの神、主の命令を守ることのできるためである。

1 Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.

2 Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault.

3 (For the Pharisees and all the Jews, don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.

4 They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)

5 The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”

6 He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
‘This people honours me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me.

7 But they worship me in vain,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

8 “For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men?the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”

14 He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.

15 There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

21 For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,

22 covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.

（マタイによる福音 25:14-30）

　また天国は、ある人が旅に出るとき、その僕どもを呼んで、自分の財産を預けるようなものである。

　すなわち、それぞれの能力に応じて、ある者には五タラント、ある者には二タラント、ある者には一タラントを与えて、旅に出た。

　五タラントを渡された者は、すぐに行って、それで商売をして、ほかに五タラントをもうけた。

　二タラントの者も同様にして、ほかに二タラントをもうけた。

　しかし、一タラントを渡された者は、行って地を掘り、主人の金を隠しておいた。

　だいぶ時がたってから、これらの僕の主人が帰ってきて、彼らと計算をしはじめた。

　すると、主人は彼に答えて言った、『悪い怠惰な僕よ、あなたはわたしが、まかない所から刈り、散らさない所から集めることを知っているのか。

　それなら、わたしの金を銀行に預けておくべきであった。そうしたら、わたしは帰ってきて、利子と一緒にわたしの金を返してもらえたであろうに。

　さあ、そのタラントをこの者から取りあげて、十タラントを持っている者にやりなさい。

　おおよそ、持っている人は与えられて、いよいよ豊かになるが、持っていない人は、持っているものまでも取り上げられるであろう。

　この役に立たない僕を外の暗い所に追い出すがよい。彼は、そこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう』。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（マタイによる福音 25:14-30）

　イエスの話された喩えは幾つかあるが、その中で間違いなく人の心を打つ喩えがある。

良いサマリア人の話し、失われた息子の話、失われた羊の話。

この喩えが明かす神の愛と赦す心は全ての人を感動させる。

きょうの福音のタラントンの喩えも、その一つである。

外の闇に投げ出されて泣き叫ぶ、役立たずとされた僕は、実は１タラントンも与えられていたのである。

それは当時の一般労働者の20年分にあたる賃金なのだ。

彼は決して軽んじられていたわけではない。

十二分の力が与えられていた。

だから厳しく責任を問われたのである。

　私たちは神から出て神に帰る旅をしている。

旅に必要なものは全て与えられている、とこの喩えは云っている。

他人を見て羨ましく思ってはならない。

それよりも自分が何を頂いているかを調べてみよう。

そこに計り知れない神の恵みと導きを、きっと見出すだろう。

神に感謝！

18 But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

19 “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them.

＜今日の聖書物語 *＞

　そこで天国は、十人のおとめがそれぞれあかりを手にして、花婿を迎えに出て行くのに似ている。

　その中の五人は思慮が浅く、五人は思慮深い者であった。

　思慮の浅い者たちは、あかりは持っていたが、油を用意していなかった。

　しかし、思慮深い者たちは、自分たちのあかりと一緒に、入れものの中に油を用意していた。

花婿の来るのがおくれたので、彼らはみな居眠りをして、寝てしまった。

夜中に、『さあ、花婿だ、迎えに出なさい』と呼ぶ声がした。

　そのとき、おとめたちはみな起きて、それぞれあかりを整えた。

　ところが、思慮の浅い女たちが、思慮深い女たちに言った、『あなたがたの油をわたしたちにわけてください。わたしたちのあかりが消えかかっていますから』。

　すると、思慮深い女たちは答えて言った、『わたしたちとあなたがたとに足りるだけは、多分ないでしょう。店に行って、あなたがたの分をお買いになる方がよいでしょう』。

彼らが買いに出ているうちに、花婿が着いた。そこで、用意のできていた女たちは、花婿と一緒に婚宴のへやにはいり、そして戸がしめられた。

　そのあとで、ほかのおとめたちもきて、『ご主人様、ご主人様、どうぞ、あけてください』と言った。

　しかし彼は答えて、『はっきり言うが、わたしはあなたがたを知らない』と言った。

　だから、目をさましていなさい。その日その時が、あなたがたにはわからないからである。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（マタイによる福音 25:1-13）

　この喩え話しを読んで、「五人の賢い乙女と、五人の愚かな乙女」ではなく、「油を人に分けない五人の意地悪な乙女と、分けてもらえなかった五人の可哀想な乙女」の話だと感じる人もいるようです。

そのような方々の為に、喩え話の背景である、1世紀当時のユダヤ地方に於ける村の結婚式の習慣を理解しましょう。

　先ず結婚式は夜中に行われましたので松明(たいまつ)は必須です。

また、花婿が花嫁を迎える為に彼女の家に向かう慣わしだったので、花嫁側は介添えの友人たちと一緒に自分の家で花婿が迎えに来るのを待ちました。

「10人の乙女」とは、花嫁の介添えの友人たちを指しています。

そして時計などない御時勢ですから、花婿が時間通りに来る事などあり得ず、到着が遅れる事態などしばしばだったようです。

イエスが油を用意した乙女たちを評価したのは、予備の油を準備して花婿を迎えた事です。

但し、前述した時代背景で、花婿到着が定刻であるはずがあり得ない時代状況を知れば、予備の油を準備するなど当然の事と理解出来るでしょう。

そこで「なぜ油を分けなかったのか？」以上に、「なぜ油を準備しなかったのか？」と考える方がより現実的な発想法と言えるでしょう。

　しかし、ここでは敢えて「なぜ油を分けなかったのか？」と言う発想方法をヒントにして考えてみましょう。

そこには、この油が「人に分ける事が出来ないもの」を意味しているからではないでしょうか。

例えば「その人自身の生き方・与えられたその人の命・その人に与えられたタレント」です。

自分の人生を誰か別の人が代わりに生きる事など不可能ですし、命そのものや、タレントそのものを他者に譲渡する事も出来ません。

人間には他者に分け与える事が出来ない、自分にしか全う出来ない尊いものがあるのです。

その全てを、花婿であるイエスが来られる（＝終末の）為に準備していく事が、この喩え話しの中で「油」という形で表されているのかもしれません。

続く「タラントンの喩え」(14-30節)でも、各々の戴いたタラントンを三人の僕たちも分け合わなかったように、己にしか灯す事が出来ない「油」や「タレント」があるのです。

（マタイによる福音 24:42-51）

　だから、目をさましていなさい。いつの日にあなたがたの主がこられるのか、あなたがたには、わからないからである。

　このことをわきまえているがよい。家の主人は、盗賊がいつごろ来るかわかっているなら、目をさましていて、自分の家に押し入ることを許さないであろう。

　だから、あなたがたも用意をしていなさい。思いがけない時に人の子が来るからである。

　主人がその家の僕たちの上に立てて、時に応じて食物をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い僕は、いったい、だれであろう。

　主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。

　よく言っておくが、主人は彼を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。

　もしそれが悪い僕であって、自分の主人は帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、

　その僕仲間をたたきはじめ、また酒飲み仲間と一緒に食べたり飲んだりしているなら、

　その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気がつかない時に帰ってきて、

　彼を厳罰に処し、偽善者たちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。彼はそこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（マタイによる福音 24:42-51）

　「目を覚ましていなさい」。

この言葉に私はドキッとします。

修道会入会前、そして入会後、そして今も時々、祈りながら居眠りをしてしまうことがあります。

こんな私は今でもこの言葉を聞くたびにドキッとし、神様に、イエス様に見透かされている、そんな風に思うのです。

　実際、神様やイエス様は私たちのことを見透かしておられる事でしょう。

だからこのようなことをおっしゃるのだと思います。

たしかに人間は弱く、油断することはしばしばです。まだ大丈夫だろう、まだ余裕がある、冷静になってみるといったいあの自信はどこからだったのか、と思うような事もしばしばです。

　しかしイエスがおっしゃるのはいつも気を張っていろ、ということではないと思います。

今日の福音だけではわかりませんが、備え、用意しながらも神様に信頼しよう、そういう事だと思います。

　神様、イエス様の言葉へ開かれているのでしょうか。

そのことを反省しつつ、目を覚ましているようにしたいと思います。

Gospel : Matthew 24:42-51

42 Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.

43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

44 Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.

45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

46 Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.

47 Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.

48 But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’

49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,

50 the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it, and in an hour when he doesn’t know it,

　このようにあなたがたも、外側は人に正しく見えるが、内側は偽善と不法とでいっぱいである。

　偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたは預言者の墓を建て、義人の碑を飾り立てて、こう言っている、

　『もしわたしたちが先祖の時代に生きていたなら、預言者の血を流すことに加わってはいなかっただろう』と。

　このようにして、あなたがたは預言者を殺した者の子孫であることを、自分で証明している。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（マタイによる福音 23:27-32）

　今日の福音の、27節と29節に出てくる「･･･不幸だ」という言葉は、もともと「ウーアイ」という呻きの声だったそうです。

　いったいイエズス様はここで、律法学者、ファリザイ人など当時、最も模範的な信仰生活をしていた人々の何を指摘しながら、「ウーアイ」という嘆きの言葉を発せられたのでしょうか。

　25節にその説明があります。

「杯と皿との外側は清めるが、内側は貪欲と放縦とで満ちている」。

28節では「偽善と不法」と指摘されています。

　渡辺善太という旧約聖書の学者さんは「教会には偽善者が日常的に生まれる。

それは避けられない、むしろ歓迎すべきだ」と言っていたそうです。

それは開き直りの言葉ではなくて、人間である限り人の目を気にする弱い人間であることを踏まえたうえで、それでもなお、神の前に立ち、神のまなざしの前に自分の弱さとおろかさを悟る必要を説いたのだといえます。

　大阪玉造にある大阪女学院中･高の校門にラテン語で「神を畏れることは知恵のはじめ」という旧約聖書の言葉が書かれていますが、それも上記のことに通じるのではないかと思います。

　このピリポがナタナエルに出会って言った、「わたしたちは、モーセが律法の中にしるしており、預言者たちがしるしていた人、ヨセフの子、ナザレのイエスにいま出会った」。

　ナタナエルは彼に言った、「ナザレから、なんのよいものが出ようか」。ピリポは彼に言った、「きて見なさい」。

　イエスはナタナエルが自分の方に来るのを見て、彼について言われた、「見よ、あの人こそ、ほんとうのイスラエル人である。その心には偽りがない」。

　ナタナエルは言った、「どうしてわたしをご存じなのですか」。イエスは答えて言われた、「ピリポがあなたを呼ぶ前に、わたしはあなたが、いちじくの木の下にいるのを見た」。

　ナタナエルは答えた、「先生、あなたは神の子です。あなたはイスラエルの王です」。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（ヨハネによる福音 1:45-51）

　ヨハネの福音は、「はじめにことばがあった」から始まる福音書ですが、その後洗礼者ヨハネによるイエスの紹介、そして弟子の召命物語になります。

　ナタナエルという人物がバルトロマイに当たります。

フィリッポが「来て、見なさい」と言ったのをきっかけに、ナタナエルはイエスと出会います。

そして、自分がイエスを知る前から自分のことをイエスが知っていたことを知り、イエスについていくことになります。

様々な召命物語がありますが、ナタナエルの場合、2つのポイントが挙げられます。

一つは、フィリッポがイエスを紹介したこと、つまり自分で探してそうなったのではなく、自分を越えた招きがあったということです。

もう一つは、もうイエスはナタナエルを知っていたということです。

先行する神の招き、神の愛というキリスト教の基本原理が出ています。

私たちの想像以上に神は先立って私たちを配慮してくださっているということ。

　このことを私たちがどのくらい生活の中で実感できるか、それが信仰を深める大きな要因になると思います。

どうか私たち一人一人が、この神の配慮に日常の中で少しでも気付くことができますように。

　偽善な律法学者、パリサイ人たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたはひとりの改宗者をつくるために、海と陸とを巡り歩く。そして、つくったなら、彼を自分より倍もひどい地獄の子にする。

　盲目な案内者たちよ。あなたがたは、わざわいである。あなたがたは言う、『神殿をさして誓うなら、そのままでよいが、神殿の黄金をさして誓うなら、果す責任がある』と。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（マタイによる福音 23:13-22）

　「あなたたち偽善者は不幸だ」。

なんときついみ言葉。

イエスはかつて「７つの幸い」を語られたのですが、今日は「７つの不幸」を説かれ、今日のミサではその１部が朗読されます。

真剣に黙想していたら居たたまれなくなって穴があれば入りたいくらいです。

身をつまされると言うか、人ごととは思いきれません。

　そこでこの言葉はどのように訳されているか、手元にある聖書を取り出して調べてみました。個人訳も含めた９種類の聖書で、「わざわいだ」のニュアンスのあるのが４つ。

「不幸だ」が２つ。「のるわれよ」、「いまわしい」、「なげかわしい」とさまざまでした。

　わたしの耳に今でも懐かしく響いてくる説明はこれです。

「お気の毒に」。

イエスの同情と愛情にあふれた言葉ではないかと思いますと、いまは帰国された司祭のこの言葉は忘れることはありません。

13 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretence you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

14 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter.

15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much of a son of Gehenna as yourselves.

16 “Woe to you, you blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.’

17 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifies the gold?

Gospel : John 6:60-69

60 Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”

61 But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?

62 Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

64 But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.

65 He said, “For this cause have I said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”

66 At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

67 Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”

68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

1 Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.

2a Joshua said to all the people,

15 If it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose today whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

16 The people answered, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

17 for it is the LORD our God who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way in which we went, and amongst all the peoples through the middle of whom we passed.

18b Therefore we also will serve the LORD; for he is our God.”

＜今日の聖書物語 *＞

（マタイによる福音 23:1-12）

　そのときイエスは、群衆と弟子たちとに語って言われた、

　「律法学者とパリサイ人とは、モーセの座にすわっている。

　だから、彼らがあなたがたに言うことは、みな守って実行しなさい。しかし、彼らのすることには、ならうな。彼らは言うだけで、実行しないから。

　また、重い荷物をくくって人々の肩にのせるが、それを動かすために、自分では指一本も貸そうとはしない。

　そのすることは、すべて人に見せるためである。すなわち、彼らは経札を幅広くつくり、その衣のふさを大きくし、

　また、宴会の上座、会堂の上席を好み、

　広場であいさつされることや、人々から先生と呼ばれることを好んでいる。

　しかし、あなたがたは先生と呼ばれてはならない。あなたがたの先生は、ただひとりであって、あなたがたはみな兄弟なのだから。

　また、地上のだれをも、父と呼んではならない。あなたがたの父はただひとり、すなわち、天にいます父である。

　また、あなたがたは教師と呼ばれてはならない。あなたがたの教師はただひとり、すなわち、キリストである。

　そこで、あなたがたのうちでいちばん偉い者は、仕える人でなければならない。

　だれでも自分を高くする者は低くされ、自分を低くする者は高くされるであろう。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞

（マタイによる福音 23:1-12）

　「あなたがたのうちでいちばん偉い人は、仕える者になりなさい」。

　司祭となって感じる大きな変化の一つは、皆から「様」と呼ばれるようになることかもしれない。

初対面の人はもちろんだが、今までいろいろとお世話になり、到底頭の上がらない方からも「神父様」と呼ばれてしまうと、非常に恐縮してしまう。

しかし、慣れというのは怖いもので、次第にそう呼ばれることに違和感を覚えなくなってしまっている。

　今日のみ言葉は、そんな自分に向けられた言葉のように思える。

「司祭＝偉い人」と考えるのは傲慢かもしれないが、司祭というだけで（自分の資質とは関係なく）敬われてしまう司祭は、まさに神と人とに仕えるために任命された者であるということを思い出さなければならない。

そしてこの言葉を言われた本人、最も偉い方であるイエス・キリストがすべての人に仕えるために、愛するために来られた方であったということを。
