＜今日の聖書物語 *＞
（マタイによる福音 14:22-36)
それからすぐ、イエスは群衆を解散させておられる間に、しいて弟子たちを舟に乗り込ませ、向こう岸へ先におやりになった。
そして群衆を解散させてから、祈るためひそかに山へ登られた。夕方になっても、ただひとりそこにおられた。
ところが舟は、もうすでに陸から数丁も離れており、逆風が吹いていたために、波に悩まされていた。
イエスは夜明けの四時ごろ、海の上を歩いて彼らの方へ行かれた。
弟子たちは、イエスが海の上を歩いておられるのを見て、幽霊だと言っておじ惑い、恐怖のあまり叫び声をあげた。
しかし、イエスはすぐに彼らに声をかけて、「しっかりするのだ、わたしである。恐れることはない」と言われた。
するとペテロが答えて言った、「主よ、あなたでしたか。では、わたしに命じて、水の上を渡ってみもとに行かせてください」。
イエスは、「おいでなさい」と言われたので、ペテロは舟からおり、水の上を歩いてイエスのところへ行った。
しかし、風を見て恐ろしくなり、そしておぼれかけたので、彼は叫んで、「主よ、お助けください」と言った。
イエスはすぐに手を伸ばし、彼をつかまえて言われた、「信仰の薄い者よ、なぜ疑ったのか」。
ふたりが舟に乗り込むと、風はやんでしまった。
舟の中にいた者たちはイエスを拝して、「ほんとうに、あなたは神の子です」と言った。
それから、彼らは海を渡ってゲネサレの地に着いた。
するとその土地の人々はイエスと知って、その附近全体に人をつかわし、イエスのところに病人をみな連れてこさせた。
そして彼らにイエスの上着のふさにでも、さわらせてやっていただきたいとお願いした。そしてさわった者は皆いやされた。

30:1
主からエレミヤに臨んだ言葉。
30:2
「イスラエルの神、主はこう仰せられる、わたしがあなたに語った言葉を、ことごとく書物にしるしなさい。
30:12
主はこう仰せられる、
あなたの痛みはいえず、あなたの傷は重い。
30:13
あなたの訴えを支持する者はなく、
あなたの傷をつつむ薬はなく、
あなたをいやすものもない。
30:14
あなたの愛する者は皆あなたを忘れて
あなたの事を心に留めない。
それは、あなたのとがが多く、
あなたの罪がはなはだしいので、
わたしがあだを撃つようにあなたを撃ち、
残忍な敵のように懲らしたからだ。
30:15
なぜ、あなたの傷のために叫ぶのか、
あなたの悩みはいえることはない。
あなたのとがが多く、
あなたの罪がはなはだしいので、
これらの事をわたしはあなたにしたのである。
30:18
主はこう仰せられる、
見よ、わたしはヤコブの天幕を再び栄えさせ、
そのすまいにあわれみを施す。
町は、その丘に建てなおされ、
宮殿はもと立っていた所に立つ。
30:19
感謝の歌と喜ぶ者の声とが、その中から出る。
わたしが彼らを増すゆえ、彼らは少なくはなく、
また彼らを尊ばれしめるゆえ、
卑しめられることはない。
30:20
その子らは、いにしえのようになり、
その会衆はわたしの前に堅く立つ。
すべて彼らをしえたげる者をわたしは罰する。
30:21
その君は彼ら自身のうちのひとりであり、
そのつかさは、そのうちから出る。
わたしは彼をわたしに近づけ、彼はわたしに近づく。
だれか自分の命をかけて
わたしに近づく者があろうかと
主は言われる。
30:22
あなたがたは、わたしの民となり、
わたしはあなたがたの神となる」。

Gospel : Matthew 14:22-36
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.
24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.
26 When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It’s a ghost!” and they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
28 Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”
29 He said, “Come!”
Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.
30 But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
32 When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Those who were in the boat came and worshipped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”
34 When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.
35 When the people of that place recognised him, they sent into all that surrounding region, and brought to him all who were sick;
36 and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.

Jeremiah 30:1-2, 12-15, 18-22
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2 “the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘Write all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.
12 For the LORD says,
“Your hurt is incurable,
and your wound grievous.
13 There is no one to plead your cause,
that you may be bound up.
You have no healing medicines.
14 All your lovers have forgotten you.
They don’t seek you:
for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy,
with the chastisement of a cruel one,
for the greatness of your iniquity,
because your sins were increased.
15 Why do you cry for your hurt?
Your pain is incurable:
for the greatness of your iniquity,
because your sins were increased,
I have done these things to you.
18 the LORD says:
“Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob’s tents,
and have compassion on his dwelling places.
The city shall be built on its own hill,
and the palace shall be inhabited in its own place.
19 Out of them shall proceed thanksgiving
and the voice of those who make merry.
I will multiply them,
and they shall not be few;
I will also glorify them,
and they will not be small.
20 Their children also shall be as before,
and their congregation shall be established before me.
I will punish all who oppress them.
21 Their prince shall be of themselves,
and their ruler shall proceed from amongst them.
I will cause him to draw near,
and he shall approach to me;
for who is he who has had boldness to approach to me?” says the LORD.
22 “You shall be my people,
and I will be your God.
