（マタイによる福音 1:1-16, 18-23）
アブラハムの子であるダビデの子、イエス・キリストの系図。
アブラハムはイサクの父であり、イサクはヤコブの父、ヤコブはユダとその兄弟たちとの父、
ユダはタマルによるパレスとザラとの父、パレスはエスロンの父、エスロンはアラムの父、
アラムはアミナダブの父、アミナダブはナアソンの父、ナアソンはサルモンの父、
サルモンはラハブによるボアズの父、ボアズはルツによるオベデの父、オベデはエッサイの父、
エッサイはダビデ王の父であった。
ダビデはウリヤの妻によるソロモンの父であり、
ソロモンはレハベアムの父、レハベアムはアビヤの父、アビヤはアサの父、
アサはヨサパテの父、ヨサパテはヨラムの父、ヨラムはウジヤの父、
ウジヤはヨタムの父、ヨタムはアハズの父、アハズはヒゼキヤの父、

バビロンへ移されたのち、エコニヤはサラテルの父となった。サラテルはゾロバベルの父、
ゾロバベルはアビウデの父、アビウデはエリヤキムの父、エリヤキムはアゾルの父、
アゾルはサドクの父、サドクはアキムの父、アキムはエリウデの父、
エリウデはエレアザルの父、エレアザルはマタンの父、マタンはヤコブの父、
ヤコブはマリヤの夫ヨセフの父であった。このマリヤからキリストといわれるイエスがお生れになった。
イエス・キリストの誕生の次第はこうであった。母マリヤはヨセフと婚約していたが、まだ一緒にならない前に、聖霊によって身重になった。
夫ヨセフは正しい人であったので、彼女のことが公けになることを好まず、ひそかに離縁しようと決心した。
彼がこのことを思いめぐらしていたとき、主の使が夢に現れて言った、「ダビデの子ヨセフよ、心配しないでマリヤを妻として迎えるがよい。その胎内に宿っているものは聖霊によるのである。
彼女は男の子を産むであろう。その名をイエスと名づけなさい。彼は、おのれの民をそのもろもろの罪から救う者となるからである」。
すべてこれらのことが起ったのは、主が預言者によって言われたことの成就するためである。すなわち、
「見よ、おとめがみごもって男の子を産むであろう。
その名はインマヌエルと呼ばれるであろう」。
これは、「神われらと共にいます」という意味である。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
み言葉について
（マタイによる福音 1:1-16, 18-23）
人は皆、命という贈り物を神様から頂いて生きています。そして与えられた命をどう生きるかが問われているのです。
「幸せに生きること」、これが全ての人の共通の目標です。幸せな生き方、それは自分の好きなように、やりたいように生きることと多くの人は単純に考えがちです。
しかし、そのような生き方で真の意味での幸福を見つけることは出来ないのです。
「幸せな方」と呼ばれるマリア様は、命の与え主である神様のみ旨をいつも求め、それを受け止め受け入れて、それに従って生きようとされていました。
「神のみ旨を行うことは、わたしの心の喜び」（答唱詩編）と。
ここに幸せに生きる生き方のヒントがあるのではないでしょうか。
マリア様の生き方を通して、幸せに生きる道を見出していきましょう。

2 Abraham became the father of Isaac. Isaac became the father of Jacob. Jacob became the father of Judah and his brothers.
3 Judah became the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar. Perez became the father of Hezron. Hezron became the father of Ram.
4 Ram became the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon. Nahshon became the father of Salmon.

20 But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”
22 Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child,
and shall give birth to a son.
They shall call his name Immanuel,”
which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”

2 you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
being small among the clans of Judah,
out of you one will come out to me who is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.

Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel.
4 He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh,
in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God.
They will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth.
