十字架称賛（祝）

＜今日の聖書物語 *＞
（ヨハネによる福音 3:13-17）
天から下ってきた者、すなわち人の子のほかには、だれも天に上った者はない。
そして、ちょうどモーセが荒野でへびを上げたように、人の子もまた上げられなければならない。
それは彼を信じる者が、すべて永遠の命を得るためである」。
神はそのひとり子を賜わったほどに、この世を愛して下さった。それは御子を信じる者がひとりも滅びないで、永遠の命を得るためである。
神が御子を世につかわされたのは、世をさばくためではなく、御子によって、この世が救われるためである。

＜今日の『み言葉』＞
み言葉について

主の受難と復活を描いた映画作品「パッション」を観て、改めて気付かされた事の一つは、十字架刑の残酷さでした。
今はもう死刑で十字架刑を施行しているところはないでしょう。
それはあまりにも残酷で生々しい刑だからでしょう。
ところが神様は、人間が編出したあんなにも惨たらしい死刑の十字架を「御自分の独り子をお与えになったほどに世を愛された」、その愛の力によって聖なるものと全く逆のものへと変えられたのです。
今は『十字架』と言うと、むしろ尊く、清い、聖なるシンボルとして大切にされており、そこに不思議さを感じます。
この神様の業はまさに称えられるべきことで、感謝すべきことです。
十字架称賛の祝日にあたり、人間の醜さや愚かさ、罪や過ちでさえも、御自分の愛の力で聖なるものへと清め、十字架によって「死」ではなく、「永遠の命」を私たちに与え、救いをもたらしてくださる神様に、感謝の祈りを捧げるように致しましょう。

民はその道に堪えがたくなった。
21:5
民は神とモーセとにむかい、つぶやいて言った、「あなたがたはなぜわたしたちをエジプトから導き上って、荒野で死なせようとするのですか。ここには食物もなく、水もありません。わたしたちはこの粗悪な食物はいやになりました」。
21:6
そこで主は、火のへびを民のうちに送られた。へびは民をかんだので、イスラエルの民のうち、多くのものが死んだ。
21:7
民はモーセのもとに行って言った、「わたしたちは主にむかい、またあなたにむかい、つぶやいて罪を犯しました。どうぞへびをわたしたちから取り去られるように主に祈ってください」。モーセは民のために祈った。
21:8
そこで主はモーセに言われた、「火のへびを造って、それをさおの上に掛けなさい。すべてのかまれた者が仰いで、それを見るならば生きるであろう」。
21:9
モーセは青銅で一つのへびを造り、それをさおの上に掛けて置いた。すべてへびにかまれた者はその青銅のへびを仰いで見て生きた。

Gospel : John 3:13-17
13 No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born§ Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

Numbers 21:4b-9
4b The soul of the people was very discouraged because of the journey.
5 The people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!”
6 Yahweh sent venomous snakes among the people, and they bit the people. Many people of Israel died.
7 The people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people.
8 Yahweh said to Moses, “Make a venomous snake, and set it on a pole. It shall happen that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”
9 Moses made a serpent of bronze, and set it on the pole. If a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked at the serpent of bronze, he lived.

Philippians 2:6-11
6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
