さて、イエスがガリラヤの海べを歩いておられると、ふたりの兄弟、すなわち、ペテロと呼ばれたシモンとその兄弟アンデレとが、海に網を打っているのをごらんになった。彼らは漁師であった。
イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしについてきなさい。あなたがたを、人間をとる漁師にしてあげよう」。
すると、彼らはすぐに網を捨てて、イエスに従った。
そこから進んで行かれると、ほかのふたりの兄弟、すなわち、ゼベダイの子ヤコブとその兄弟ヨハネとが、父ゼベダイと一緒に、舟の中で網を繕っているのをごらんになった。そこで彼らをお招きになると、

すなわち、自分の口で、イエスは主であると告白し、自分の心で、神が死人の中からイエスをよみがえらせたと信じるなら、あなたは救われる。
10:10
なぜなら、人は心に信じて義とされ、口で告白して救われるからである。
10:11
聖書は、「すべて彼を信じる者は、失望に終ることがない」と言っている。
10:12
ユダヤ人とギリシヤ人との差別はない。同一の主が万民の主であって、彼を呼び求めるすべての人を豊かに恵んで下さるからである。
10:13
なぜなら、「主の御名を呼び求める者は、すべて救われる」とあるからである。
10:14
しかし、信じたことのない者を、どうして呼び求めることがあろうか。聞いたことのない者を、どうして信じることがあろうか。宣べ伝える者がいなくては、どうして聞くことがあろうか。
10:15
つかわされなくては、どうして宣べ伝えることがあろうか。「ああ、麗しいかな、良きおとずれを告げる者の足は」と書いてあるとおりである。
10:16
しかし、すべての人が福音に聞き従ったのではない。イザヤは、「主よ、だれがわたしたちから聞いたことを信じましたか」と言っている。
10:17
したがって、信仰は聞くことによるのであり、聞くことはキリストの言葉から来るのである。
10:18
しかしわたしは言う、彼らには聞えなかったのであろうか。否、むしろ
「その声は全地にひびきわたり、
その言葉は世界のはてにまで及んだ」。

18 Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
19 He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”
20 They immediately left their nets and followed him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.
22 They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.

Romans 10:9-18
9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.
13 For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?
15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace,
who bring glad tidings of good things!”
16 But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”
17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly,
“Their sound went out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.”

しかし、これらのあらゆる出来事のある前に、人々はあなたがたに手をかけて迫害をし、会堂や獄に引き渡し、わたしの名のゆえに王や総督の前にひっぱって行くであろう。
それは、あなたがたがあかしをする機会となるであろう。
だから、どう答弁しようかと、前もって考えておかないことに心を決めなさい。
あなたの反対者のだれもが抗弁も否定もできないような言葉と知恵とを、わたしが授けるから。
しかし、あなたがたは両親、兄弟、親族、友人にさえ裏切られるであろう。また、あなたがたの中で殺されるものもあろう。
また、わたしの名のゆえにすべての人に憎まれるであろう。
しかし、あなたがたの髪の毛一すじでも失われることはない。
あなたがたは耐え忍ぶことによって、自分の魂をかち取るであろう。

イエスは常に、ご自分の愛する弟子に高い理想を示し、これに挑戦するように励ましています。
イエスの弟子になる条件は、『父母、妻、兄弟、姉妹、自分のいのちまでも憎まないなら、弟子にふさわしくありません』（ルカ14,26）。
更に、イエスは、『神様だけがいのちの主である』と教えています。
ここで、いのちとは、この世に限ってのみのことでもなく自分のいのちのことでもない、永遠のいのち、神のいのちのことです。
つまり、この世は貴方に数多くの選択を提供しますが、永遠は二つの選択だけを提供します。
それは天国か地獄か二者択一を迫られるものです。
だからイエスは、『死に至るまで忠実でありなさい。わたしは貴方にいのちの冠を与える』（黙示録.2,10）と仰せになっています。
イエスに従うことは、簡単ではありません。
迫害においては、『わたしの名の為に』、憎まれる立場へと転回します。
両親、兄弟、親族、友人、一言で言えば、親しい者から憎まれ、裏切られ、殺されるのです。
その時こそ絶望に落ち込む事がないように必ず精神的に強めて下さるのです。
貴方の心に聖霊の息吹を注入させるのです。
『どんな反対者でも、対抗も反論もできないような言葉と智恵をわたしはあなたに授けるからです』（ルカ21,13）。
このように明確な姿で、証しする機会となると同時にあなた方はわたしに属する者であるのです。
その時こそ、『貴方だけが完全な方、聖なる方。全ての民が来て、貴方の前にひれ伏して拝むのでしょう！』

12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake.
13 It will turn out as a testimony for you.
14 Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,
15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.
16 You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will cause some of you to be put to death.
17 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake.
18 And not a hair of your head will perish.
19 “By your endurance you will win your lives.

1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
2 Belshazzar, while he tasted the wine, commanded that the golden and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem be brought to him, that the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, might drink from them.
3 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of God’s house which was at Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, drank from them.
4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
5 In the same hour, the fingers of a man’s hand came out and wrote near the lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace. The king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
6 Then the king’s face was changed in him, and his thoughts troubled him; and the joints of his thighs were loosened, and his knees struck one against another.
13 Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah?
14 I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you and that light, understanding, and excellent wisdom are found in you.
16 But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and dissolve doubts. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”
17 Then Daniel answered before the king, “Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another. Nevertheless, I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
23 but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.
24 Then the part of the hand was sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.
25 “This is the writing that was inscribed: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.’
26 “This is the interpretation of the thing:
MENE: God has counted your kingdom, and brought it to an end.
27 TEKEL: you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.
28 PERES: your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

16 But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and dissolve doubts. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”
17 Then Daniel answered before the king, “Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another. Nevertheless, I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
23 but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.
24 Then the part of the hand was sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.
25 “This is the writing that was inscribed: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.’
26 “This is the interpretation of the thing:
MENE: God has counted your kingdom, and brought it to an end.
27 TEKEL: you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.
28 PERES: your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

それは、あなたがたがあかしをする機会となるであろう。

だから、どう答弁しようかと、前もって考えておかないことに心を決めなさい。

あなたの反対者のだれもが抗弁も否定もできないような言葉と知恵とを、わたしが授けるから。

（ルカによる福音 21:12-19）
イエスは常に、ご自分の愛する弟子に高い理想を示し、これに挑戦するように励ましています。
イエスの弟子になる条件は、『父母、妻、兄弟、姉妹、自分のいのちまでも憎まないなら、弟子にふさわしくありません』（ルカ14,26）。
更に、イエスは、『神様だけがいのちの主である』と教えています。
ここで、いのちとは、この世に限ってのみのことでもなく自分のいのちのことでもない、永遠のいのち、神のいのちのことです。
つまり、この世は貴方に数多くの選択を提供しますが、永遠は二つの選択だけを提供します。
それは天国か地獄か二者択一を迫られるものです。
だからイエスは、『死に至るまで忠実でありなさい。わたしは貴方にいのちの冠を与える』（黙示録.2,10）と仰せになっています。
イエスに従うことは、簡単ではありません。
迫害においては、『わたしの名の為に』、憎まれる立場へと転回します。
両親、兄弟、親族、友人、一言で言えば、親しい者から憎まれ、裏切られ、殺されるのです。
その時こそ絶望に落ち込む事がないように必ず精神的に強めて下さるのです。
貴方の心に聖霊の息吹を注入させるのです。
『どんな反対者でも、対抗も反論もできないような言葉と智恵をわたしはあなたに授けるからです』（ルカ21,13）。
このように明確な姿で、証しする機会となると同時にあなた方はわたしに属する者であるのです。
その時こそ、『貴方だけが完全な方、聖なる方。全ての民が来て、貴方の前にひれ伏して拝むのでしょう！』

ベルシャザル王は、その大臣一千人のために、盛んな酒宴を設け、その一千人の前で酒を飲んでいた。

酒が進んだとき、ベルシャザルは、その父ネブカデネザルがエルサレムの神殿から取ってきた金銀の器を持ってこいと命じた。王とその大臣たち、および王の妻とそばめらが、これをもって酒を飲むためであった。

「あなたがたはこれらのものをながめているが、その石一つでもくずされずに、他の石の上に残ることもなくなる日が、来るであろう」。
そこで彼らはたずねた、「先生、では、いつそんなことが起るのでしょうか。またそんなことが起るような場合には、どんな前兆がありますか」。
イエスが言われた、「あなたがたは、惑わされないように気をつけなさい。多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がそれだとか、時が近づいたとか、言うであろう。彼らについて行くな。
戦争と騒乱とのうわさを聞くときにも、おじ恐れるな。こうしたことはまず起らねばならないが、終りはすぐにはこない」。
それから彼らに言われた、「民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。
また大地震があり、あちこちに疫病やききんが起り、いろいろ恐ろしいことや天からの物すごい前兆があるであろう。

ルカはイエス様がエルサレム入場の時にエルサレムをみて泣かれたこと（ルカ１９章１１月２０の聖書）を記録します。
エルサレムの中心は神殿ですから、「祈りの家でない神殿」もイエスさまの涙のもとでしょう。

王よ、あなたは一つの大いなる像が、あなたの前に立っているのを見られました。その像は大きく、非常に光り輝いて、恐ろしい外観をもっていました。

その像の頭は純金、胸と両腕とは銀、腹と、ももとは青銅、

すねは鉄、足の一部は鉄、一部は粘土です。

あなたが見ておられたとき、一つの石が人手によらずに切り出されて、その像の鉄と粘土との足を撃ち、これを砕きました。

こうして鉄と、粘土と、青銅と、銀と、金とはみな共に砕けて、夏の打ち場のもみがらのようになり、風に吹き払われて、あとかたもなくなりました。ところがその像を撃った石は、大きな山となって全地に満ちました。

これがその夢です。今わたしたちはその解き明かしを、王の前に申しあげましょう。

王よ、あなたは諸王の王であって、天の神はあなたに国と力と勢いと栄えとを賜い、

あなたはその足と足の指を見られましたが、その一部は陶器師の粘土、一部は鉄であったので、それは分裂した国をさします。しかしあなたが鉄と粘土との混じったのを見られたように、その国には鉄の強さがあるでしょう。

その足の指の一部は鉄、一部は粘土であったように、その国は一部は強く、一部はもろいでしょう。

あなたが鉄と粘土との混じったのを見られたように、それらは婚姻によって、互に混ざるでしょう。しかし鉄と粘土とは相混じらないように、かれとこれと相合することはありません。
2:44
それらの王たちの世に、天の神は一つの国を立てられます。これはいつまでも滅びることがなく、その主権は他の民にわたされず、かえってこれらのもろもろの国を打ち破って滅ぼすでしょう。そしてこの国は立って永遠に至るのです。

一つの石が人手によらずに山から切り出され、その石が鉄と、青銅と、粘土と、銀と、金とを打ち砕いたのを、あなたが見られたのはこの事です。大いなる神がこの後に起るべきことを、王に知らされたのです。その夢はまことであって、この解き明かしは確かです」。

み言葉について
（ルカによる福音 21:5-11）
イエス様が「宮清め」をされたことは、4人の福音記者が記録しています。
それは、祭司達と結託して商人達が、専売特許を良いことに「金儲け」の場にしていることに対して、イエスさまの怒りが爆発したのです。
今日の「エルサレム滅亡の預言」は、「終末」についての預言であると同時に、祈りの家でない神殿に対する、神様の怒りを表していると見ることもできるでしょう。
一方、特に聖パウロは、繰り返しキリスト者に「あなた達は神の神殿」(1コリント3:17)であることを、忘れないようにと注意を促しています。
ルカはイエス様がエルサレム入場の時にエルサレムをみて泣かれたこと（ルカ１９章１１月２０の聖書）を記録します。
エルサレムの中心は神殿ですから、「祈りの家でない神殿」もイエスさまの涙のもとでしょう。
今日イエス様が、私達の心の神殿をご覧になったら、イエスさまはどうされるのでしょうか・・・・

その像の頭は純金、胸と両腕とは銀、腹と、ももとは青銅、

すねは鉄、足の一部は鉄、一部は粘土です。

あなたが見ておられたとき、一つの石が人手によらずに切り出されて、その像の鉄と粘土との足を撃ち、これを砕きました。

こうして鉄と、粘土と、青銅と、銀と、金とはみな共に砕けて、夏の打ち場のもみがらのようになり、風に吹き払われて、あとかたもなくなりました。ところがその像を撃った石は、大きな山となって全地に満ちました。

これがその夢です。今わたしたちはその解き明かしを、王の前に申しあげましょう。

その足の指の一部は鉄、一部は粘土であったように、その国は一部は強く、一部はもろいでしょう。

あなたが鉄と粘土との混じったのを見られたように、それらは婚姻によって、互に混ざるでしょう。しかし鉄と粘土とは相混じらないように、かれとこれと相合することはありません。

それらの王たちの世に、天の神は一つの国を立てられます。これはいつまでも滅びることがなく、その主権は他の民にわたされず、かえってこれらのもろもろの国を打ち破って滅ぼすでしょう。そしてこの国は立って永遠に至るのです。

Gospel : Luke 21:5-11
5 As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said,
6 “As for these things which you see, the days will come in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down.”
7 They asked him, “Teacher, so when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?”
8 He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he‡,’ and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them.
9 When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately.”
10 Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11 There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

31 “You, O king, saw, and behold, a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and its appearance was terrifying.
32 As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze,
33 its legs of iron, its feet part of iron and part of clay.
34 You saw until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.
35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors. The wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them. The stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
36 “This is the dream; and we will tell its interpretation before the king.
37 You, O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the glory.
38 Wherever the children of men dwell, he has given the animals of the field and the birds of the sky into your hand, and has made you rule over them all. You are the head of gold.
39 “After you, another kingdom will arise that is inferior to you; and another third kingdom of bronze, which will rule over all the earth.
40 The fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, because iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things; and as iron that crushes all these, it will break in pieces and crush.
41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay and part of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but there will be in it of the strength of the iron, because you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 As the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.
43 Whereas you saw the iron mixed with miry clay, they will mingle themselves with the seed of men; but they won’t cling to one another, even as iron does not mix with clay.
44 “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.
45 Because you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will happen hereafter. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”

これらの人たちはみな、ありあまる中から献金を投げ入れたが、あの婦人は、その乏しい中から、持っている生活費全部を入れたからである」。

神様は、その態度や寛大さ、いかに信頼を寄せているか、信仰に目を注がれます。
この「やもめ」の姿は、マザー･テレサと重なります。
ロレット修道会を退会し、一人コルカタの町を歩き始めます。
手持ち金は5ルピーだけ。早速4ルピーを貧しい人々のために施し、残りは1ルピーになりました。
そこに一人の司祭と出会い、彼から出版の為の寄付を求められました。
最初ためらいを覚えたようですが、神様がきっと何とかしてくださるだろうと信じて、残りの１ルピーも渡してしまいます。
その日の午後、あの司祭が封筒をもって彼女の所にやってきました。
ある人物から預かってきたとのこと。
封筒の中には５０ルピー入っていたそうです。（最初所持金の１０倍の金額･･･）
マザーは、神様からの祝福を受けました。
そして、神様に信頼を寄せている限り、いかなることがあっても見捨てられることがないことを学んだのでした。

1 He looked up and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury.
2 He saw a certain poor widow casting in two small brass coins.
3 He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,
4 for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.”

Daniel 1:1-6, 8-20
1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
2 The Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god. He brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
3 The king spoke to Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in some of the children of Israel, even of the royal offspring and of the nobles:
4 youths in whom was no defect, but well-favored, skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding science, and who had the ability to stand in the king’s palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the language of the Chaldeans.
5 The king appointed for them a daily portion of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years, that at its end they should stand before the king.
6 Now among these of the children of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.
8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank. Therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
9 Now God made Daniel find kindness and compassion in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.
10 The prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink. For why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths who are of your own age? Then you would endanger my head with the king.”
11 Then Daniel said to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
12 “Test your servants, I beg you, ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.
13 Then let our faces be examined before you, and the face of the youths who eat of the king’s delicacies; and as you see, deal with your servants.”
14 So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days.
15 At the end of ten days, their faces appeared fairer and they were fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate of the king’s delicacies.
16 So the steward took away their delicacies and the wine that they were given to drink, and gave them vegetables.
17 Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
18 At the end of the days which the king had appointed for bringing them in, the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.
19 The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore stood they before the king.
20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters who were in all his realm.

時に王は宦官の長アシペナズに、イスラエルの人々の中から、王の血統の者と、貴族たる者数人とを、連れて来るように命じた。

すなわち身に傷がなく、容姿が美しく、すべての知恵にさとく、知識があって、思慮深く、王の宮に仕えるに足る若者を連れてこさせ、これにカルデヤびとの文学と言語とを学ばせようとした。

そして王は王の食べる食物と、王の飲む酒の中から、日々の分を彼らに与えて、三年のあいだ彼らを養い育て、その後、彼らをして王の前に、はべらせようとした。

彼らのうちに、ユダの部族のダニエル、ハナニヤ、ミシャエル、アザリヤがあった。

ダニエルは王の食物と、王の飲む酒とをもって、自分を汚すまいと、心に思い定めたので、自分を汚させることのないように、宦官の長に求めた。

神はダニエルをして、宦官の長の前に、恵みとあわれみとを得させられたので、

宦官の長はダニエルに言った、「わが主なる王は、あなたがたの食べ物と、飲み物とを定められたので、わたしはあなたがたの健康の状態が、同年輩の若者たちよりも悪いと、王が見られることを恐れるのです。そうすればあなたがたのために、わたしのこうべが、王の前に危くなるでしょう」。

十日の終りになってみると、彼らの顔色は王の食物を食べたすべての若者よりも美しく、また肉も肥え太っていた。

やもめの献金のエピソード。
神様への奉献は「量より質」が大事であることに気付かされます。
神様は、その態度や寛大さ、いかに信頼を寄せているか、信仰に目を注がれます。
この「やもめ」の姿は、マザー･テレサと重なります。
ロレット修道会を退会し、一人コルカタの町を歩き始めます。
手持ち金は5ルピーだけ。早速4ルピーを貧しい人々のために施し、残りは1ルピーになりました。
そこに一人の司祭と出会い、彼から出版の為の寄付を求められました。
最初ためらいを覚えたようですが、神様がきっと何とかしてくださるだろうと信じて、残りの１ルピーも渡してしまいます。
その日の午後、あの司祭が封筒をもって彼女の所にやってきました。
ある人物から預かってきたとのこと。
封筒の中には５０ルピー入っていたそうです。（最初所持金の１０倍の金額･･･）
マザーは、神様からの祝福を受けました。
そして、神様に信頼を寄せている限り、いかなることがあっても見捨てられることがないことを学んだのでした。

人の子が栄光の中にすべての御使たちを従えて来るとき、彼はその栄光の座につくであろう。
そして、すべての国民をその前に集めて、羊飼が羊とやぎとを分けるように、彼らをより分け、
羊を右に、やぎを左におくであろう。
そのとき、王は右にいる人々に言うであろう、『わたしの父に祝福された人たちよ、さあ、世の初めからあなたがたのために用意されている御国を受けつぎなさい。
あなたがたは、わたしが空腹のときに食べさせ、かわいていたときに飲ませ、旅人であったときに宿を貸し、
裸であったときに着せ、病気のときに見舞い、獄にいたときに尋ねてくれたからである』。
そのとき、正しい者たちは答えて言うであろう、『主よ、いつ、わたしたちは、あなたが空腹であるのを見て食物をめぐみ、かわいているのを見て飲ませましたか。

31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.
32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
35 for I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.
36 I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink?
38 When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’
40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;

24 Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God the Father, when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death.

復活ということはないと言い張っていたサドカイ人のある者たちが、イエスに近寄ってきて質問した、
「先生、モーセは、わたしたちのためにこう書いています、『もしある人の兄が妻をめとり、子がなくて死んだなら、弟はこの女をめとって、兄のために子をもうけねばならない』。
ところで、ここに七人の兄弟がいました。長男は妻をめとりましたが、子がなくて死に、
そして次男、三男と、次々に、その女をめとり、
七人とも同様に、子をもうけずに死にました。
のちに、その女も死にました。
さて、復活の時には、この女は七人のうち、だれの妻になるのですか。七人とも彼女を妻にしたのですが」。
イエスは彼らに言われた、「この世の子らは、めとったり、とついだりするが、
かの世にはいって死人からの復活にあずかるにふさわしい者たちは、めとったり、とついだりすることはない。

今日の福音書のテーマは「復活」です。
復活は“永遠に変わらないものがある”と信じるから出てくる考えです。
「救い」も同じです。
“永遠なるもの”があるからそこに救いを求めるのです。
永遠に変わらない方がおられるので、私たちの信仰があります。
復活のテーマを考えるとき、私たちのいのちのことに思いが至ります。
私たちのいのちは神様から与えられたこと、すべての人は神様から生かされていること、神様の望まれるときに神様のもとに帰っていくことです。
人は神を志向することで生かされているとも言えます。
私たちは生まれたときからこの世では終わりでない、死の向こうにおられる神様に向かって歩んでいます。
ｎ「復活」や「救い」を考えるとき、私たちにとっては神様との出会いを果たすことが人生においては大切なことになります。
私たちがいつもきちんと神様の方向を向いていることができるように、忙しい毎日にあっても神様のことを意識することを忘れないようにしたいと思います。

アンティオコス王は、奥地の国々を通過していたとき、ペルシアにあるエリマイスが銀と金が豊富なことで有名な町であることを耳にした。
06章 02節
その町の神殿は、非常に富んでいて、金の兜、胸当て、武器などがあったが、それはマケドニア人の王、フィリポスの子アレクサンドロスが残していったものである。このアレクサンドロスはギリシア人たちの中で最初に王となった人物である。
06章 03節
アンティオコスは出陣してその町の占領と略奪をもくろんだが、できなかった。計画が事前に町の人々に知られてしまったからである。
06章 04節
人々は彼に抗して戦いを挑み、そして彼は逃げ、バビロンへと戻るべく、大いに心を痛めてそこをたった。
06章 05節
ところで、彼がペルシアにいるときに、彼のところに、一人の使者がやって来て報告した。「ユダの地への派遣軍は敗走しました。

27 Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.
28 They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.
29 There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
30 The second took her as wife, and he died childless.
31 The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.
32 Afterward the woman also died.
33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”
34 Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.
35 But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.
36 For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

4 and they rose up against him in battle. He fled and returned to Babylon with great disappointment.
5 Then someone came into Persia bringing him news that the armies which went against the land of Judah had been put to flight,
6 and that Lysias went first with a strong army and was put to shame before them, and that they had grown strong because of weapons, power, and a supply of plunder which they took from the armies that they had cut off,
7 and that they had pulled down the abomination which he had built upon the altar that was in Jerusalem, and that they had surrounded the sanctuary with high walls, as before, and also Bethsura, his city.
8 It came to pass, when the king heard these words, he was astonished and moved exceedingly. He laid himself down on his bed, and fell sick for grief, because it had not turned out for him as he had planned.
9 He was there many days, because great grief continually gripped him, and he realized that he would die.
10 He called for all his friends, and said to them, “Sleep departs from my eyes, and my heart fails because of worry.
11 I said in my heart, ‘To what suffering I have come! How great a flood it is that I’m in, now! For I was gracious and loved in my power.’
12 But now I remember the evils which I did at Jerusalem, and that I took all the vessels of silver and gold that were in it, and sent out to destroy the inhabitants of Judah without a cause.
13 I perceive that it is because of this that these evils have come upon me. Behold, I am perishing through great grief in a strange land.”

27 Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.
28 They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.
29 There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
30 The second took her as wife, and he died childless.
31 The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.
32 Afterward the woman also died.
33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”
34 Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.
35 But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.
36 For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

イエスは敬虔なユダヤ教徒と同じ考え方をしています。
神殿は神の住まいであり、神様が民と共に歩まれている神聖な場所である、という考え方です。
彼はたびたびこの場所で、神様の教えを群集に語っています。
また彼の敬虔な家族が、イエスを神にささげた場所であり、彼の母であるマリアもこの神殿で神にささげられた神聖な場所です。
神殿が造られた経緯やその意味が忘れ去られていることに、イエスは嘆いています。
それは神様の嘆きかもしれません。
「律法を廃するために来たのではない、完成するために来たのだ」という言葉と対になる箇所だと思います。
神様は何を求めておられるのか、今一度、原点に立ち戻ることが求められているようです。

ユダと兄弟たちは言った。「見よ、我らの敵は粉砕された。上って行って、聖所を清めて奉献しよう。」

そこで全軍が集結し、シオンの山に上って行った。

第百四十八年の第九の月――キスレウの月――の二十五日に、彼らは朝早く起き、

焼き尽くすいけにえのための新しい祭壇の上に律法に従っていけにえを献げた。

45 He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
47 He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.
48 They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.

53 and offered sacrifice according to the law on the new altar of burnt offerings which they had made.

55 All the people fell on their faces, worshiped, and gave praise toward heaven, which had given them good success.

57 They decorated the front of the temple with crowns of gold and small shields. They dedicated the gates and the priests’ chambers, and made doors for them.
58 There was exceedingly great gladness among the people, and the reproach of the Gentiles was turned away.
59 Judas and his kindred and the whole congregation of Israel ordained that the days of the dedication of the altar should be kept in their seasons from year to year for eight days, from the twenty-fifth day of the month Chislev, with gladness and joy.

ルカは福音記者の中でも特にエルサレムにこだわりました。
ルカはエルサレムを地上の中心と考えていましたが、単にエルサレムをユダヤ人の神殿がある場所のある聖地として考えたのではなく、イエスというまことのいけにえが献げられる地、イエスの死と復活によって建てられる新しいエルサレムの象徴と考えていました。
さて、福音書の4割にあたる10章を費やして描いたイエスのエルサレムへの旅は終わり、いよいよエルサレムでの出来事がこれから展開されていくことになります。
実はルカ福音書が書かれた頃には、すでにエルサレムが破壊されていましたから、今日の福音の箇所はいわゆる事後予告ということになります。
しかし、私たちはイエスの涙に注目しましょう。
イエスはエルサレムのために泣かれます。
つまり、それは回心への呼びかけに応えない私たちのために泣かれるのです。
この涙を見つめ、そしてこれからエルサレムで起こる出来事をしっかり見つめ黙想するとき、私たちの方が回心と喜びの涙を流すことになります。

さて、棄教を強いる王の役人たちが、いけにえを献げるためにモデインの町にやって来た。
02章 16節
多くのイスラエル人が彼らのもとに行った。マタティアとその息子たちも集まった。
02章 17節
そこで王の役人たちは答えてマタティアに言った。「あなたはこの町では高名で偉大な指導者であり、ご子息たちやご兄弟たちによって立場をさらに強固にしている。
02章 18節
すべての民族が実行し、ユダの人々も、エルサレムに残留している者たちも行っているように、まずあなたが王の命令を果たしてもらいたい。そうすれば、あなたもご子息たちも王の友人の中に含められ、銀と金、その他多くの贈り物を受ける栄誉にあずかることになる。」

マタティアはこれを見て熱情に燃えた。彼の腎臓は震え、義憤を覚えて走り寄り、祭壇の前でこの男を切り殺した。

またその時、いけにえを強要しに来ていた王の役人の一人をも殺し、この祭壇を破壊した。

それは、あのサルの子ジムリに対してピネハスがしたような、律法への熱情から出た行為であった。

人々がこれらの言葉を聞いているときに、イエスはなお一つの譬をお話しになった。それはエルサレムに近づいてこられたし、また人々が神の国はたちまち現れると思っていたためである。
それで言われた、「ある身分の高い人が、王位を受けて帰ってくるために遠い所へ旅立つことになった。
そこで十人の僕を呼び十ミナを渡して言った、『わたしが帰って来るまで、これで商売をしなさい』。
ところが、本国の住民は彼を憎んでいたので、あとから使者をおくって、『この人が王になるのをわれわれは望んでいない』と言わせた。
さて、彼が王位を受けて帰ってきたとき、だれがどんなもうけをしたかを知ろうとして、金を渡しておいた僕たちを呼んでこさせた。
最初の者が進み出て言った、『ご主人様、あなたの一ミナで十ミナをもうけました』。
主人は言った、『よい僕よ、うまくやった。あなたは小さい事に忠実であったから、十の町を支配させる』。
次の者がきて言った、『ご主人様、あなたの一ミナで五ミナをつくりました』。
そこでこの者にも、『では、あなたは五つの町のかしらになれ』と言った。
それから、もうひとりの者がきて言った、『ご主人様、さあ、ここにあなたの一ミナがあります。わたしはそれをふくさに包んで、しまっておきました。
あなたはきびしい方で、おあずけにならなかったものを取りたて、おまきにならなかったものを刈る人なので、おそろしかったのです』。
彼に言った、『悪い僕よ、わたしはあなたの言ったその言葉であなたをさばこう。わたしがきびしくて、あずけなかったものを取りたて、まかなかったものを刈る人間だと、知っているのか。
では、なぜわたしの金を銀行に入れなかったのか。そうすれば、わたしが帰ってきたとき、その金を利子と一緒に引き出したであろうに』。
そして、そばに立っていた人々に、『その一ミナを彼から取り上げて、十ミナを持っている者に与えなさい』と言った。
彼らは言った、『ご主人様、あの人は既に十ミナを持っています』。
『あなたがたに言うが、おおよそ持っている人には、なお与えられ、持っていない人からは、持っているものまでも取り上げられるであろう。
しかしわたしが王になることを好まなかったあの敵どもを、ここにひっぱってきて、わたしの前で打ち殺せ』」。
イエスはこれらのことを言ったのち、先頭に立ち、エルサレムへ上って行かれた。

主人からしもべに与えられるムナというお金は、神様から私たちに与えられているたくさんのお恵みを表しています。
まずこのことに気づくことが大切です。
つまり、何よりもまず神様のお恵みが私たちに与えられているという事実です。
どんな状況、境遇に置かれようとも、私は神様のお恵みを確かに受けている、私にはたくさんの良いものがすでに与えられている。
これが私たちの信仰の根本的な姿勢です。
ではそのお恵みにどのようにこたえるか。
これが私たち一人一人に問われていることだと言えます。
「良いしもべだ。よくやった。」主人にこのようにねぎらいの言葉をかけられるしもべのように、私たちも与えられたお恵みに感謝の心を持ちながら信仰の道を歩んでいきたいと思います。

どんな状況、境遇に置かれようとも、私は神様のお恵みを確かに受けている、私にはたくさんの良いものがすでに与えられている。
これが私たちの信仰の根本的な姿勢です。
ではそのお恵みにどのようにこたえるか。
これが私たち一人一人に問われていることだと言えます。
「良いしもべだ。よくやった。」主人にこのようにねぎらいの言葉をかけられるしもべのように、私たちも与えられたお恵みに感謝の心を持ちながら信仰の道を歩んでいきたいと思います。

07章 01節
また、七人の兄弟が母親と共に捕らえられ、鞭や革ひもで責め苦を受け、律法に反して豚肉を食するように王から強いられることとなった。
07章 20節
この母親はまことに驚くべき者、記憶に値する者であり、彼女は一日のうちに一度に七人の息子が死んでいくのを目の当たりにしながら、主への希望のゆえに気丈に耐えていた。
07章 21節
気高い思いに満たされて、彼女はそれぞれの息子を父祖の言葉で励まし、その女としての思いを男の気概でもって奮い立たせて、彼らに語りかけた。
07章 22節
「お前たちがどうやって私の胎内に宿ったか、私は知りません。また、私がお前たちに霊と生命を与えたのでもなく、私が体のそれぞれの基を整えたのでもありません。
07章 23節

この死刑執行人を恐れず、兄たちに倣って、死を受け入れなさい。それは、憐れみの中で私が、お前の兄たちと共にお前を受け取るためなのです。」

この女が話し終えると、若者は言った。「あなたがたは誰を待っているのか。私は王の掟に従わず、モーセを通して我らの父祖に与えられた律法の掟に聞き従う。

（ルカによる福音 19:11-28）
19:11
人々がこれらの言葉を聞いているときに、イエスはなお一つの譬をお話しになった。それはエルサレムに近づいてこられたし、また人々が神の国はたちまち現れると思っていたためである。
19:12
それで言われた、「ある身分の高い人が、王位を受けて帰ってくるために遠い所へ旅立つことになった。
19:13
そこで十人の僕を呼び十ミナを渡して言った、『わたしが帰って来るまで、これで商売をしなさい』。
19:14
ところが、本国の住民は彼を憎んでいたので、あとから使者をおくって、『この人が王になるのをわれわれは望んでいない』と言わせた。
19:15
さて、彼が王位を受けて帰ってきたとき、だれがどんなもうけをしたかを知ろうとして、金を渡しておいた僕たちを呼んでこさせた。
19:16
最初の者が進み出て言った、『ご主人様、あなたの一ミナで十ミナをもうけました』。
19:17
主人は言った、『よい僕よ、うまくやった。あなたは小さい事に忠実であったから、十の町を支配させる』。
19:18
次の者がきて言った、『ご主人様、あなたの一ミナで五ミナをつくりました』。
19:19
そこでこの者にも、『では、あなたは五つの町のかしらになれ』と言った。
19:20
それから、もうひとりの者がきて言った、『ご主人様、さあ、ここにあなたの一ミナがあります。わたしはそれをふくさに包んで、しまっておきました。
19:21
あなたはきびしい方で、おあずけにならなかったものを取りたて、おまきにならなかったものを刈る人なので、おそろしかったのです』。
19:22
彼に言った、『悪い僕よ、わたしはあなたの言ったその言葉であなたをさばこう。わたしがきびしくて、あずけなかったものを取りたて、まかなかったものを刈る人間だと、知っているのか。
19:23
では、なぜわたしの金を銀行に入れなかったのか。そうすれば、わたしが帰ってきたとき、その金を利子と一緒に引き出したであろうに』。
19:24
そして、そばに立っていた人々に、『その一ミナを彼から取り上げて、十ミナを持っている者に与えなさい』と言った。
19:25
彼らは言った、『ご主人様、あの人は既に十ミナを持っています』。
19:26
『あなたがたに言うが、おおよそ持っている人には、なお与えられ、持っていない人からは、持っているものまでも取り上げられるであろう。
19:27
しかしわたしが王になることを好まなかったあの敵どもを、ここにひっぱってきて、わたしの前で打ち殺せ』」。
19:28
イエスはこれらのことを言ったのち、先頭に立ち、エルサレムへ上って行かれた。

（ルカによる福音 19:11-28）
主人からしもべに与えられるムナというお金は、神様から私たちに与えられているたくさんのお恵みを表しています。
まずこのことに気づくことが大切です。
つまり、何よりもまず神様のお恵みが私たちに与えられているという事実です。
どんな状況、境遇に置かれようとも、私は神様のお恵みを確かに受けている、私にはたくさんの良いものがすでに与えられている。
これが私たちの信仰の根本的な姿勢です。
ではそのお恵みにどのようにこたえるか。
これが私たち一人一人に問われていることだと言えます。
「良いしもべだ。よくやった。」主人にこのようにねぎらいの言葉をかけられるしもべのように、私たちも与えられたお恵みに感謝の心を持ちながら信仰の道を歩んでいきたいと思います。

Gospel : Luke 19:11-28
11 As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.
12 He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.
13 He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’
15 “When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
16 The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
17 “He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
18 “The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
19 “So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
20 Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
21 for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
22 “He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
23 Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
24 He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
25 “They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
26 ‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
27 But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’ ”
28 Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

2 Maccabees 7:1, 20-31
1 It came to pass that seven brothers and their mother were at the king’s command taken and shamefully handled with scourges and cords, to compel them to taste of the abominable swine’s flesh.
20 But above all, the mother was marvelous and worthy of honorable memory; for when she watched seven sons perishing within the space of one day, she bore the sight with a good courage because of her hope in the Lord.
21 She exhorted each one of them in the language of their fathers, filled with a noble spirit and stirring up her woman’s thoughts with manly courage, saying to them,
22 “I don’t know how you came into my womb. It wasn’t I who gave you your spirit and your life. It wasn’t I who brought into order the first elements of each one of you.
23 Therefore the Creator of the world, who shaped the first origin of man and devised the first origin of all things, in mercy gives back to you again both your spirit and your life, as you now treat yourselves with contempt for his laws’ sake.”
24 But Antiochus, thinking himself to be despised, and suspecting the reproachful voice, while the youngest was yet alive didn’t only make his appeal to him by words, but also at the same time promised with oaths that he would enrich him and raise him to high honor if he would turn from the ways of his ancestors, and that he would take him for his friend and entrust him with public affairs.
25 But when the young man would in no way listen, the king called to him his mother, and urged her to advise the youth to save himself.
26 When he had urged her with many words, she undertook to persuade her son.
27 But bending toward him, laughing the cruel tyrant to scorn, she spoke this in the language of her fathers: “My son, have pity upon me who carried you nine months in my womb, and nursed you three years, and nourished and brought you up to this age, and sustained you.
28 I beg you, my child, to lift your eyes to the sky and the earth, and to see all things that are in it, and thus to recognize that God made them not of things that were, and that the race of men in this way comes into being.
29 Don’t be afraid of this butcher, but, proving yourself worthy of your brothers, accept your death, that in God’s mercy I may receive you again with your brothers.”
30 But before she had finished speaking, the young man said, “What are you all waiting for? I don’t obey the commandment of the king, but I listen to the commandment of the law that was given to our fathers through Moses.
31 But you, who have devised all kinds of evil against the Hebrews, will in no way escape God’s hands.

さて、イエスはエリコにはいって、その町をお通りになった。
ところが、そこにザアカイという名の人がいた。この人は取税人のかしらで、金持であった。
彼は、イエスがどんな人か見たいと思っていたが、背が低かったので、群衆にさえぎられて見ることができなかった。
それでイエスを見るために、前の方に走って行って、いちじく桑の木に登った。そこを通られるところだったからである。
イエスは、その場所にこられたとき、上を見あげて言われた、「ザアカイよ、急いで下りてきなさい。きょう、あなたの家に泊まることにしているから」。
そこでザアカイは急いでおりてきて、よろこんでイエスを迎え入れた。
人々はみな、これを見てつぶやき、「彼は罪人の家にはいって客となった」と言った。
ザアカイは立って主に言った、「主よ、わたしは誓って自分の財産の半分を貧民に施します。また、もしだれかから不正な取立てをしていましたら、それを四倍にして返します」。
イエスは彼に言われた、「きょう、救がこの家にきた。この人もアブラハムの子なのだから。
人の子がきたのは、失われたものを尋ね出して救うためである」。

彼はイエス様を信仰してたわけではなく、ただ好奇心に駆られて、ただ一眼でもいいから見ておこうと考えたのでした。
そのような彼でもイエス様は呼ばれたのです。
今でもイエス様は人を探しておられます。
貴方の目を使って、貴女の口を借りて、そして私たちの生き方を通して。

イエス様を見たくて、背が低く小太りしたザアカイが急いで木に登った、と聖書に書かれてありますが、その光景を想像してみますと面白いですね。
彼はイエス様を信仰してたわけではなく、ただ好奇心に駆られて、ただ一眼でもいいから見ておこうと考えたのでした。
そのような彼でもイエス様は呼ばれたのです。
今でもイエス様は人を探しておられます。
貴方の目を使って、貴女の口を借りて、そして私たちの生き方を通して。

06章 18節
第一級の律法学者の一人で、高齢にして顔立ちの極めて美しい人物であるエレアザルが、口を開けて、豚肉を食べることを強制された。
06章 19-20節
彼は、不浄のまま生きるよりも、名誉の死を甘受して、自ら進んで拷問具へと近寄った。そして、生への愛着を理由に決して味わってはならないものを味わうことなく、あえて自らを守る者たちが選び取るほかなかったそのしかたどおりに、吐き出した。
06章 21節
内臓を食すという律法違反を強いる係に任じられた者たちは、エレアザルと旧知の仲だったので、彼を連れ出して、適法に食しうる肉を彼自身が用意して持ち込み、犠牲の肉の中で王によって命じられたものを食べている振りをするようにと、ひそかに頼んだ。
06章 22節
それは、こうすることによってエレアザルが死を免れ、彼らとの古くからの友情ゆえに王からの寛恕を得るためだった。
06章 23節
しかし彼は、高齢と、老境の品位と、頭に蓄えた際立った白髪と、幼い頃からの立派な生き方とにふさわしく、優雅な考えを巡らし、神がお造りになった聖なる法規範にむしろ従って、自分を速やかに陰府へと送り出すようにと語りだした。
06章 24節
「この年齢になって演技をするのはふさわしくない。そんなことをすれば、九十歳にもなってエレアザルが異国の慣習へ鞍替えしたと、多くの若者たちが思い込んでしまうだろう。
06章 25節
欺きの行為によって、私がほんの一時生き長らえるために、彼ら自身が道を誤ってしまいかねない。また私自身も、晩節を汚し、恥を負うことになろう。
06章 26節
たとえ当座、人々からの刑罰を免れたとしても、全能者の御手を、生きていても死んでいても逃れることはできまい。
06章 27-28節
それゆえ私は、今や男らしく最期を迎え、老境にふさわしい者であることを示し、若者たちが聖なる律法のために進んで高貴な良き死を遂げるよう、高貴な模範を残そう。」これだけ言うと、彼は直ちに拷問具の前に進み出た。

少し前まで彼に好意を抱いていた人々は、今し方語られた言葉が正気の沙汰とは思えず、反感を覚えた。

打ち叩かれ、息絶えようとするとき、彼は呻きながら言った。「聖なる知識をお持ちの主には明らかなように、私は、死罪から免れることもできたが、鞭打たれて苛酷な肉体の苦痛に耐えており、そして魂においては、主に対する畏れのゆえに、むしろこれを喜んで受けているのだ。」
06章 31節
こうしてこの男は、死をもって、若者たちだけでなくこの民族の多くの人々にも、高貴さの模範と徳の記念のしるしを残し、世を去った。

19:1
さて、イエスはエリコにはいって、その町をお通りになった。
19:2
ところが、そこにザアカイという名の人がいた。この人は取税人のかしらで、金持であった。
19:3
彼は、イエスがどんな人か見たいと思っていたが、背が低かったので、群衆にさえぎられて見ることができなかった。
19:4
それでイエスを見るために、前の方に走って行って、いちじく桑の木に登った。そこを通られるところだったからである。
19:5
イエスは、その場所にこられたとき、上を見あげて言われた、「ザアカイよ、急いで下りてきなさい。きょう、あなたの家に泊まることにしているから」。
19:6
そこでザアカイは急いでおりてきて、よろこんでイエスを迎え入れた。
19:7
人々はみな、これを見てつぶやき、「彼は罪人の家にはいって客となった」と言った。
19:8

Gospel : Luke 19:1-10
1 He entered and was passing through Jericho.
2 There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
4 He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.
5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
6 He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
7 When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
8 Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”

2 Maccabees 6:18-31
18 Eleazar, one of the principal scribes, a man already well advanced in years, and of a noble countenance, was compelled to open his mouth to eat swine’s flesh.
19 But he, welcoming death with honor rather than life with defilement, advanced of his own accord to the instrument of torture, but first spat out the flesh,
20 as men ought to come who are resolute to repel such things as not even for the natural love of life is it lawful to taste.
21 But those who had the charge of that forbidden sacrificial feast took the man aside, for the acquaintance which of old times they had with him, and privately implored him to bring flesh of his own providing, such as was proper for him to use, and to make as if he did eat of the flesh from the sacrifice, as had been commanded by the king;
22 that by so doing he might be delivered from death, and so his ancient friendship with them might be treated kindly.
23 But he, having formed a high resolve, and one that became his years, the dignity of old age, and the gray hairs which he had reached with honor, and his excellent education from a child, or rather the holy laws of God’s ordaining, declared his mind accordingly, bidding them to quickly send him to Hades.
24 “For it doesn’t become our years to dissemble,” he said, “that many of the young should suppose that Eleazar, the man of ninety years, had gone over to an alien religion;
25 and so they, by reason of my deception, and for the sake of this brief and momentary life, would be led astray because of me, and I defile and disgrace myself in my old age.
26 For even if for the present time I would remove from me the punishment of men, yet whether I live or die, I wouldn’t escape the hands of the Almighty.
27 Therefore, by bravely parting with my life now, I will show myself worthy of my old age,
28 and leave behind a noble example to the young to die willingly and nobly a glorious death for the revered and holy laws.”
When he had said these words, he went immediately to the instrument of torture.
29 When they changed the good will they bore toward him a little before into ill will because these words of his were, as they thought, sheer madness,
30 and when he was at the point to die with the blows, he groaned aloud and said, “To the Lord, who has the holy knowledge, it is manifest that, while I might have been delivered from death, I endure severe pains in my body by being scourged; but in soul I gladly suffer these things because of my fear of him.”
31 So this man also died like this, leaving his death for an example of nobleness and a memorial of virtue, not only to the young but also to the great body of his nation.

イエスがエリコに近づかれたとき、ある盲人が道ばたにすわって、物ごいをしていた。
群衆が通り過ぎる音を耳にして、彼は何事があるのかと尋ねた。
ところが、ナザレのイエスがお通りなのだと聞かされたので、
声をあげて、「ダビデの子イエスよ、わたしをあわれんで下さい」と言った。
先頭に立つ人々が彼をしかって黙らせようとしたが、彼はますます激しく叫びつづけた、「ダビデの子よ、わたしをあわれんで下さい」。
そこでイエスは立ちどまって、その者を連れて来るように、とお命じになった。彼が近づいたとき、
「わたしに何をしてほしいのか」とおたずねになると、「主よ、見えるようになることです」と答えた。
そこでイエスは言われた、「見えるようになれ。あなたの信仰があなたを救った」。
すると彼は、たちまち見えるようになった。そして神をあがめながらイエスに従って行った。これを見て、人々はみな神をさんびした。

「あなたの信仰があなたを救った」。
今日の福音はある道での出来事を伝えます。
目の不自由な一人の人が主イエスを呼びます。
まわりの人が黙らせようとも、それでもさらに叫び続けます。
主イエスは、この人の声を聞き、癒しをなさいました。
わたしたちの信仰生活をふり返りましょう。
いつも主イエスに近づくようにし、いただいた信仰を深めていきましょう。
「あなたの信仰があなたを救った」。
わたしたちの信仰はいかほどの熱心さなのか、そのことも問われているように思います。
福音では続きがあります。
目が見えるようになったその人は、神をほめたたえ、そして主イエスの後に従っていきます。
わたしたちも隣人を自分のように愛する主の姿に近づけるよう、愛のある信仰を生きていきましょう。
