（ヨハネによる福音 1:43-51）
その翌日、イエスはガリラヤに行こうとされたが、ピリポに出会って言われた、「わたしに従ってきなさい」。
ピリポは、アンデレとペテロとの町ベツサイダの人であった。
このピリポがナタナエルに出会って言った、「わたしたちは、モーセが律法の中にしるしており、預言者たちがしるしていた人、ヨセフの子、ナザレのイエスにいま出会った」。
ナタナエルは彼に言った、「ナザレから、なんのよいものが出ようか」。ピリポは彼に言った、「きて見なさい」。
イエスはナタナエルが自分の方に来るのを見て、彼について言われた、「見よ、あの人こそ、ほんとうのイスラエル人である。その心には偽りがない」。
ナタナエルは言った、「どうしてわたしをご存じなのですか」。イエスは答えて言われた、「ピリポがあなたを呼ぶ前に、わたしはあなたが、いちじくの木の下にいるのを見た」。
ナタナエルは答えた、「先生、あなたは神の子です。あなたはイスラエルの王です」。
イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたが、いちじくの木の下にいるのを見たと、わたしが言ったので信じるのか。これよりも、もっと大きなことを、あなたは見るであろう」。
また言われた、「よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。天が開けて、神の御使たちが人の子の上に上り下りするのを、あなたがたは見るであろう」。

「あの人は??だ」とか、「あの人は??の出身だから。」とか。
行き過ぎてしまっている例の一つとして血液型による性格等の診断でしょう。
しかし、人間は多種多様であり、金子みすゞが言うように「みんなちがって、みんないい」のです。
今日の福音でナタナエルは「ナザレから何か良いものが出るだろうか」とフィリポに言います。
これに対してフィリポは「来て、見なさい」と言うわけです。
何事も決め込んでしまうのではなく、何らかの形をもって自分でアプローチしていくことが大切なのではないでしょうか。

3:11
わたしたちは互に愛し合うべきである。これが、あなたがたの初めから聞いていたおとずれである。
3:12
カインのようになってはいけない。彼は悪しき者から出て、その兄弟を殺したのである。なぜ兄弟を殺したのか。彼のわざが悪く、その兄弟のわざは正しかったからである。
3:13
兄弟たちよ。世があなたがたを憎んでも、驚くには及ばない。
3:14
わたしたちは、兄弟を愛しているので、死からいのちへ移ってきたことを、知っている。愛さない者は、死のうちにとどまっている。
3:15
あなたがたが知っているとおり、すべて兄弟を憎む者は人殺しであり、人殺しはすべて、そのうちに永遠のいのちをとどめてはいない。
3:16
主は、わたしたちのためにいのちを捨てて下さった。それによって、わたしたちは愛ということを知った。それゆえに、わたしたちもまた、兄弟のためにいのちを捨てるべきである。
3:17
世の富を持っていながら、兄弟が困っているのを見て、あわれみの心を閉じる者には、どうして神の愛が、彼のうちにあろうか。
3:18
子たちよ。わたしたちは言葉や口先だけで愛するのではなく、行いと真実とをもって愛し合おうではないか。
3:19
それによって、わたしたちが真理から出たものであることがわかる。そして、神のみまえに心を安んじていよう。
3:20
なぜなら、たといわたしたちの心に責められるようなことがあっても、神はわたしたちの心よりも大いなるかたであって、すべてをご存じだからである。
3:21
愛する者たちよ。もし心に責められるようなことがなければ、わたしたちは神に対して確信を持つことができる。

Gospel : John 1:43-51
43 On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46 Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?”
Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”
48 Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?”
Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
49 Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”
50 Jesus answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!”
51 He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you all, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

1 John 3:11-21
11 For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another?
12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13 Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17 But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
18 My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
19 And by this we know that we are of the truth and persuade our hearts before him,
20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21 Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God;
