＜今日の聖書物語 *＞
（マルコによる福音 8:34--9:1）
それから群衆を弟子たちと一緒に呼び寄せて、彼らに言われた、「だれでもわたしについてきたいと思うなら、自分を捨て、自分の十字架を負うて、わたしに従ってきなさい。
自分の命を救おうと思う者はそれを失い、わたしのため、また福音のために、自分の命を失う者は、それを救うであろう。
人が全世界をもうけても、自分の命を損したら、なんの得になろうか。
また、人はどんな代価を払って、その命を買いもどすことができようか。
邪悪で罪深いこの時代にあって、わたしとわたしの言葉とを恥じる者に対しては、人の子もまた、父の栄光のうちに聖なる御使たちと共に来るときに、その者を恥じるであろう」。
また、彼らに言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。神の国が力をもって来るのを見るまでは、決して死を味わわない者が、ここに立っている者の中にいる」。

み言葉について
（マルコによる福音 8:34--9:1）
ミッシェル・クオストの「神に聴くすべを知っているなら」という本をもとにしたサレジオ会の藤川神父のイエスの十字架の道行きの小冊子の中に以下の言葉があります。
「あなたの十字架はあなたに合わせてすでに作られているのです」。
今日の福音の中でイエスは私たちに「自分を捨て日々自分の十字架を背負って私に従いなさい」と言われます。
イエスに従うということは自分の十字架を背負うということです。
私たちには一人ひとりに与えられた十字架があります。しかし、弱い私たちはそれを人に負わせようとしたり、それを見ないふりをしてしまいます。
イエスは逃げることなくそれを背負いなさいと言われるのです。
そしてそれは自分に背負い切れないほどの十字架ではなく、私たち一人ひとりに合わせたものです。
さらに忘れてはならないのはイエス自身が私たちと共に歩んで下さるということです。
自分に与えられた十字架とは何でしょうか？
まずはそれを黙想し、そしてそれを担う勇気と力が与えられますように祈っていきたいと思います。

時に人々は東に移り、シナルの地に平野を得て、そこに住んだ。
11:3
彼らは互に言った、「さあ、れんがを造って、よく焼こう」。こうして彼らは石の代りに、れんがを得、しっくいの代りに、アスファルトを得た。
11:4
彼らはまた言った、「さあ、町と塔とを建てて、その頂を天に届かせよう。そしてわれわれは名を上げて、全地のおもてに散るのを免れよう」。
11:5
時に主は下って、人の子たちの建てる町と塔とを見て、
11:6
言われた、「民は一つで、みな同じ言葉である。彼らはすでにこの事をしはじめた。彼らがしようとする事は、もはや何事もとどめ得ないであろう。
11:7
さあ、われわれは下って行って、そこで彼らの言葉を乱し、互に言葉が通じないようにしよう」。
11:8
こうして主が彼らをそこから全地のおもてに散らされたので、彼らは町を建てるのをやめた。
11:9
これによってその町の名はバベルと呼ばれた。主がそこで全地の言葉を乱されたからである。主はそこから彼らを全地のおもてに散らされた。

8:34 He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.
36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
37 For what will a man give in exchange for his life?
38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
9:1 He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see God’s Kingdom come with power.”

Genesis 11:1-9
1 The whole earth was of one language and of one speech.
2 As they traveled east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they lived there.
3 They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.
4 They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”
5 Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.
6 Yahweh said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do.
7 Come, let’s go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
8 So Yahweh scattered them abroad from there on the surface of all the earth. They stopped building the city.
9 Therefore its name was called Babel, because there Yahweh confused the language of all the earth. From there, Yahweh scattered them abroad on the surface of all the earth.
